I searched Fring for my HD2 and found new ver 3.4 beta. I tried to install but could not open it (It said not compatible for this OS version) "Now I continue wait"

I use the one for the xperia x1, remember though, fring will only work If you disable sense first.

No that is not possible. Google Earth is possible of doing that I think but not Google Maps.
new version 3.2.0

Out of curiosity, does using Google Maps make you use data? thus carrier will charge you for the data transfer? just wondering cause as using GPS shouldn't cost anything except paying for the GPS unit itself.

Yes, you must have a data connection for Google Maps to work.

I guess yes WM6.5 is more thumb frndly and eye catching ... secondly there is no WM6.5 Pro v4.1, in my ROMs versions are of ROMs not WM6.5 so WM6.5 is recognized by builds and is still BETA
ok thank you mite have a look at it but im trying to get tomtom 7 to work first

I have upgraded from wm5 to wm 6.5,and some old apps I have on my mem.card still works,u just have to find in the program folder on mem.card the .exe file of the app u have, then copy, then go to the device memory, windows folder, and find the folder where are the links of the start menu.then use comand "paste link" or "paste as shortcut".I used resco file explorer for this, and my msdict is working great.

SHA-2 support of HTC Diamond 1

Dear all,
a few days ago Microsoft updated its mail server (s.outlook.com Exchange Active Sync) with a new SSL certificate using the SHA-2. SHA-1 is abandonned and therefore device under windows mobile 6.1 and 6.5 can no longer synchronise to theirs emails, contact, calendar
I still use an HTC Diamond 1 under windows mobile 6.1 and now i can no longer access my emails, contacts, calendar.
is there a ROM for HTC Diamond that supports SHA-2 algorithms for SSL connections ?
another solution should be to have windows mobile 6.5 WEH (windows embedded Handled) with AKU 35 as it supports SHA-2, it is explained here (microsoft support kb/2986556)
(For devices using Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5, SHA2 support is added in AKU 35, released in August 2014. Users should check with their OEMs to make sure that their device is running an image built on AKU 35 or later.)
is this possible ?
thanks for your help
Manuel

maybe i could try to build a rom for HTC diamond based on the Artemis rom you used for your HTC DH2
I'm new to this (but i used to be a developper) is is technically possible ou am i just completly wrong ? (like the WEH 6.5 binaries can not run on HTC Diamond processor)

I know. I was talking about the HD2.
I finally did it and it works !!
I made a new rom based on my HTC Diamond rom and replaced in the Kernel the crpyt32 package by the one found in the build windows mobile 6.5 WEH aku 35
once flashed, i added the certificate from the outlook server and now it connects i have my mail, calendar, contacts on my old HTC diamond !

More information and detailled instructions on how to fix it here

see message dated 31st of january
a copy of the message
"Hi
My HTC diamond was under wm 6.1 ans is still under wm6.1.
it's just that i changed the crypt32.dll package so that it supports SHA-2
I used OsKitchen zero version 1.33.5 found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=628948
and windows mobile mobile build 29326 found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=64935543#post64935543
First, in Os Kitchen import the windows build 29326
then I downloaded the last official rom for my HTC diamond (in your case the last official rom for your device), extracted it using OS Kitchen
then from the directory where you extracted the windows build from the rom let say C:\OsKitchen\Sources\Windows Mobile Builds\20764\Common\MSXIPKernel (your build number may differ, my HTC dimaond is WM6.1 build 20764)
you replace the crypt32.dll directory by the one found in C:\OsKitchen\Sources\Windows Mobile Builds\29326\Common\MSXIPKernel
Start building the rom, flash it to your device
the last step will be to install the certificate of s.outlook.com on your device, you can create it this certificate file using a browser on s.outlook.com and clicking the lock icon on the address bar
let me know if it's works.
dont't worry, if it does not work (which i doubt) you can revert to the official rom.
