I have a TP2 running WinMo 6.1 and for some unknown reason, the volume up/down buttons have been remapped to Scroll up/Down. Can anyone help with what registry settings might restore the original volume functionality? Soft resetting doesn't make any difference and I would like to avoid a hard reset. This not my personal TP2 but I am told that no new software was loaded or
other changes were made. Interestingly, my TP2 does this once in a while but it always goes back to normal after a soft reset.
I second this...
Happened to me only once though.
You probably have some program that might map the volume keys to be used for UP and DOWN. I think CorePlayer does that sometimes. If the app doesn't successfully exit or crashes, I think the mapping sticks till you soft reset.

Click to collapse
Totally wrong.
Press and hold the Comm Manager and Voice Record buttons.
Keep hold of these buttons and momentarily press the soft rest button with the stylus.
Carry on holding the side buttons for about 5 seconds until a black and white warning message appears on the screen
Release the side buttons and press the Green Send key to perform the Hard Reset.
Sounds complicated, but isn't once you know how.
Or you could use Start / Programs / Clear Storage. (I've deleted the shortcut to the latter because it's FAR too dangerous when someone else is playing with your phone!)
So just today I go to make a phone call (HTC P4000 - Canadian CDMA Titan) by hitting the button and nothing happened. I reboot, again nothing happened. I did not make any software changes or drop the phone at all yesterday. It just randomly stopped working. After further testing, the jog wheel works (along with the click on the jog wheel), the directional pad in the middle of buttons below screen (along with the click) works, and the power button on the side (to turn screen off, or hold to be prompted for reboot) works. Everything else does not: the IE and messaging button at the top above the screen, the 2 function keys below the screen, as well as the windows and OK button below that. ALSO along the sides of the phone all buttons do not work (comm manager, camera, voice record, ok.... power does work though keep in mind).
Does this sound like a physical issue or possible software or OS corruption of some sort? What is bizarre to me is that the OK button along the side works, yet the button right below it (comm manager) does not work. It would make sense that this button (the power) would be wired differently as it's more essential i suppose. What are your thoughts? Anything I should try or does this sound 100% like hardware... if it is that's ok cuz I have a warranty through my carrier for the entire length of my contract. Thanks for any tips or advice in advance!
have you tried a hard reset yet worked for me one time with those issues
Right now when I press Volume up/down it brings me to volume control. However, another press brings me back to Today screen. Soft reset doesn't help.
I am using SPB Pocket Plus, AE Buttons and P.D.A.C Hebrew support (the last one is more recent).
AE Button doesn't touch the volume and I *guess* that the Hebrew Support is to blame but I don't see why it would happen.
Anyone saw such behavior? Any suggestions?
Hi all
I've had my Omnia for a few weeks now and love just about everything about it now that I've tweaked it to suit me. I've set up the M2D system and think it handles great.
There's just one thing that I'd like to change and I wondered if anyone may have found a solution for me. When you lock the keys/screen by pressing and holding the 'end' button, the volume buttons can still be used - I thought I'd switched my phone to vibrate mode and gone into a meeting but must have caught the volume button a few times because halfway through the meeting my phone started screaming out Paradise City by Guns N Roses at almost full volume when a call came in, which was very embarrasing!
Anyhow - if anyone knows of a way to also lock the volume buttons along with the rest of the hardware buttons and the screen upon pressing and holding the 'end' button, I'd really appreciate the details.
Thanks in advance.
just hold the NO button to lock all the buttons instead of using power button to lock the phone.
i found the way to stop that i had the same problem and all you need to do is go to "settings" then "buttons" then scroll right until you see "wake up" then check the last box!!!!!!
I've upgraded to the "official leaked sense 2.5 rom", and since the coreplayer capture all buttons function isn't working exactly like it used to .
I want the volume buttons to use the coreplayer volume, not the system. However i cannot set it to that even though "use system volume" is unticked, i've tried ticking and unticking and that hasn't work and capture all buttons is ticked. Everytime i try and change volume key to +2 volume it just increases the system volume.
So i tried Keyboard Config program. With that I've managed to make a rule so with coreplayer when volume up is pressed "alt and u" are pressed and set this to the +2 volume. However whenever i press it when i have screen on blank the screen pops back on and then goes off again which is just annoying when i have the phone out. Plus I cant increase system volume until i minimize coreplayer which is also annoying.
I have it on blank screen in my pocket usually as im on train and buses a lot, and it would just be nice to increase the volume in coreplayer without having to pull it out of my pocket, take the blank screen off and increase it. The Keyboard config method works kinda but its far from perfect.
So is there anyway to make coreplayer completly lock the keys (volume buttons) like it used to with the last official rom?
Thanks
