I've upgraded to the "official leaked sense 2.5 rom", and since the coreplayer capture all buttons function isn't working exactly like it used to .
I want the volume buttons to use the coreplayer volume, not the system. However i cannot set it to that even though "use system volume" is unticked, i've tried ticking and unticking and that hasn't work and capture all buttons is ticked. Everytime i try and change volume key to +2 volume it just increases the system volume.
So i tried Keyboard Config program. With that I've managed to make a rule so with coreplayer when volume up is pressed "alt and u" are pressed and set this to the +2 volume. However whenever i press it when i have screen on blank the screen pops back on and then goes off again which is just annoying when i have the phone out. Plus I cant increase system volume until i minimize coreplayer which is also annoying.
I have it on blank screen in my pocket usually as im on train and buses a lot, and it would just be nice to increase the volume in coreplayer without having to pull it out of my pocket, take the blank screen off and increase it. The Keyboard config method works kinda but its far from perfect.
So is there anyway to make coreplayer completly lock the keys (volume buttons) like it used to with the last official rom?
Thanks

Hi,
I had a Qtek S100 and I always used GSplayer as my mp3 player. Now I own a Touch, and since the touch has far less hardware buttons I switched to Mortplayer. Mainly because of the volume slider which you should be able to use to control the volume of the player instead of the system volume.
Now, this doesn't work. if I use the volume slider, the volume of the player moves 1 bit, and right after that the systems volume slider comes over the top and takes over.
Furthermore, I can't assign the camera button. When I assign it to toggle the screen on/off, it just opens the Camera.
Does someone know how I can make this work? And how do you guys use your Touch as a mp3 player?
Is there anyway to change the volume display, or decrease the amount of time it stays on the screen?
When I change the volume in the middle of a call, or game, or whatever... the volume display stays on the screen for what seems like an eternity. There's also no easy way to get rid of it. Hitting the back button takes you back from wherever you were... not just back from the volume display. I find it very annoying.
(I did a search for this topic and didn't find anything... if this has already been discussed, than sorry for the extra thread...)
Thanks-
Maybe it's a solution to hit anyplace on the screen where no button or volume slider is (standard the grey area) it shuts down the volume display only so you'll return to the place where you pushed the volume button
That was waayyy too easy!
Thanks-
Personally I don't like the HTC volume control, or the System Status screen, I prefer the to have WM deal with them, and just give me the bubble with volume sliders/comm panel links...
You can disable the system screen through the TouchFlo settings in Start > Settings > System > TouchFlo but you need a cab file to remove the volume control, I have it as "Remove-Htcvolume-by-HellengreeN.cab, I'm not sure where I found it.
It's a little glitchy when changing volume in a full screen app, as the bubble/volume bars are drawn "through" the full screen app, but you can see what's going on and it negates the need to use the stylus at all.
Hi all
I've had my Omnia for a few weeks now and love just about everything about it now that I've tweaked it to suit me. I've set up the M2D system and think it handles great.
There's just one thing that I'd like to change and I wondered if anyone may have found a solution for me. When you lock the keys/screen by pressing and holding the 'end' button, the volume buttons can still be used - I thought I'd switched my phone to vibrate mode and gone into a meeting but must have caught the volume button a few times because halfway through the meeting my phone started screaming out Paradise City by Guns N Roses at almost full volume when a call came in, which was very embarrasing!
Anyhow - if anyone knows of a way to also lock the volume buttons along with the rest of the hardware buttons and the screen upon pressing and holding the 'end' button, I'd really appreciate the details.
Thanks in advance.
just hold the NO button to lock all the buttons instead of using power button to lock the phone.
i found the way to stop that i had the same problem and all you need to do is go to "settings" then "buttons" then scroll right until you see "wake up" then check the last box!!!!!!
he,
as i press the on/of button while listening to the music to lock the keys it stops.
i use the standard media player.
i have heard a time that it can be set in advance config but i cant find the option.
What i do when using standard player is in the options menu, assign a hard key to turn off the screen (not into sleep) and remove certain key assingments. this means you can still change track on certain keys whilst others dont do anything. Get my drift?
i get the screen off button assigned but if i press any non d-pad button it turns on again.
so what do you mean with the others how do i get this off.
btw i also can turn the htc home music plugin on and the press device lock.
I wake up today feeling like sharing
setVol is a really simple app to lock the HD2 volume.
As far as I know, there is no quick/simple way to lock the Volume buttons while the phone is off (screen off), so I wrote this simple tool to "lock" the volume.
It runs every minute (doesn't matter the powerstate of the phone) using "CeSetUserNotificationEx" API.
When it runs it does the following.
1. Gets the current volume
2. Gets the "stored/desired volume" from the registry (HKCU\SetVol\CurVol)
3. Checks if the phone is "on"
4. If the current volume is different than the stored one, and the phone is "On" it vibrates to let you know that the "desired" volume has been stored, and updates the registry.
If the volume is different, but the phone is in any other powerstate (screen off, etc) it set the volume to the stored one.
So in theory, you won't be able to "accidentally" change the volume when the screen is off.
The setVol.exe must be installed in "\Program Files\setVol\" directory. No cab, just an .exe.
To "uninstall" just delete the whole directory
Very strange to see no comments here at all... no one used it yet?
I definitely have this problem on my HD2! the volume buttons are not locked when the screen is locked/off, and that makes it go into silent when i want it loud, and goes into loud when i am in a meeting!
will try this on now! thanks for sharing!
I wrote that one in a couple of hours (right, minutes, but that sounds too quick ) so don't expect it to be utterly brilliant, but at it does the job I wanted, it keeps the volume where I want.
I use S2U2 and don't have that problem.
