InCall Lock - Lock Send/End buttons on incoming call
InCall Lock will temporarily disable Send (aka Talk, Green) and End (aka Red) hardware buttons when you receive an incoming call in order to prevent accidental call pickups/rejects while you are pulling your device out of your pocket. All other hardware buttons are untouched.
After you answer/reject your call the application will release the buttons, so you will be able to hang up, put calls on hold etc. using hardware buttons normally.
The application, after being launched, will remain resident in memory but will not use any CPU cycles at all as it relies on WM Notification system and doesn't do any polling. As it is using WM internal event system, it should work regardless of OS language, installed dialer etc.
This is a zero config application and has no options (yes, this is a feature). I personally needed an application that would do just this - temporarily block these buttons. If you need a device locker, try PocketShield or other available solutions.
How to use:
* Install attached cab
* Soft reset or launch "InCall Lock Toggle"
* To enable/disable InCall Lock temporarily, use InCall Lock Toggle in your Programs menu.
* To disable it permanently, just uninstall via Settings - Remove Programs

Ciao

Thanks, I'll try.

ALDAS this file is great, its simply what im looking for since 3 hours searching for solution to that problem. but this solution solve my problem 50% since the end key still working and able to hangup any received call. i appropriate it if you give me another file which can block both send and end keys.
im using HTC HD2
thanks for your help, that problem made me thinking to get rid of this phone.

sorry i meant fotone, thanks

Does this exist for android builds? I really want to disable the damned end (red) hangup on a call !

Lock Buttons

Hi,
I wonder if some of you guys know how lock the keypad and buttons of the Tornado.
My PDA HTC has this option, lock all the buttons except On/Off.
I can't find this funcionality in the Tornado.
When you have the mobile in the pocket, sometimes a call is performed....
Thanks guys.
Lock buttons
Press and hold the red phonebutton to lock the keys. That's one way but I hope there are other ways, 'cause there's no way to lock the buttons without leaving the program you're in at the moment...
...found out that you also can reach this function through the menu you reach when pressing the on/off-button. But it works the same way.
THANKS PTER!!!!
Block phone
Nice way, until now i used locking the keys through settings-protection (7)- block phone (1). Here you can enter a password and also a timeout after the block enters automatically. So I use a single digit password, and is similar the same.
But your way is maybe better, but is there also a feature to acitvate the block automatically?
Also see this forum which has lots of good stuff:

What's On Your Today Screen?

I have been going back and forth between rltoday and HTC Home. I have issues with both and I like them both. I am currently running the HTC Home plugin.
rltoday Pros:
Highly configurable (if you have time)
very light weight
can use with the hidelogo cab
free
rltoday Cons:
limited user community (for my device)
unable to navigate with five-way
limited native functionality (additional scripts or 3rd party apps needed)
no weather plugin
HTC Home Pros:
Customizable (HTC Home Config)
multi-tabbed
built-in weather
built-in ringer profile selections (with HHC)
launch music player from today screen as well as see what's playing
built-in picture dialer
no 3rd party apps/scripts needed
free
HTC Home Cons:
unable to use hidelogo cab
weather plugin is limited (even with HHC)
profile selections don't always work
a. doesn't vibrate but is silent
b. when the meeting/event is over speaker is turned all the way down
when the clock is touched it launches the time/alarm settings (annoying)
So, what are you running on your today screen and why?
hey too bad nobody is answering to this i would love to know all the cool today plugins there is. Im running the HTC Home plugin and sometimes the cool Pointu interface.
How about you guys ?
I prefer the simple but elegant approach...until something really groundbreaking comes along :
TA Pro: controls LED, and gives quick stats and weather
GoodMobile Messaging Calendar and Mail (also displays sms count)
cLaunch: Three 2xtabs (each tab has 2 wrap rows) with my common apps. I've also modified cLaunch.dll to play nicer with the 240x240 display when in the settings area of the app.
Hidelogo to give a little more real estate
I've also replaced battery.exe with an HTC version that gives a better battery icon and little more display flexibility.
QuickMenu 2.7 to assist with app closing, hibernate, soft reset and additional menu browsing needs.
fTouchflo (last free version) for easier touch navigation
I've replaced the default tahoma.ttf with the one from my XP workstation for a smoother font appearance
================
I really like throttle launcher as a replacement for cLaunch, but presently it takes up too much memory and is a little cumbersome to configure on the fly.
PointUI is promising, but needs better hooks into "Good" before I can use it, plus needs more customization options to allow me to get to what I need in a minimum of "clicks" - it's not presently able to give me what my present setup offers me.

Any screenshots?
My Today screen is settled. I have finalized on HTC Home Plugin. No other plugins on the screen. You will notice that I have the bluetooth and the carrier information hid. This is accomplished with Memaid removing the "active call", and "lookup". This does make some additional challenges like the usage of the talk (green) and end (red buttons) as well as the ringer. These are easily overcome by registry changes. I also employed the HTC Home Customizer to make the background transparent and have the "Vista" icons. Music is being played on the device and only showing in the plug (not title bar) through the use of "wk Task". Also I have the battery icon on the today screen but on other apps the time is displayed. This is a result of HHC as well. You can have the time only always; I chose to have it only away from the Today screen. You will also notice that the left and right softkeys are different. Because I am using the standard Windows Mobile dialer, I can customize these keys. One goes to the mail/messaging and the other goes to my IM program. I am running WM6.1 Lite OS (ROM).
I intend to write a complete document on how to do these customizations. It can be frustrating looking for hours and days piecing things together. WinMob has been a lot more fun for me than Palm (former 650 user).
What other options are out there? Feel free to chime in.
Just added quick menu to the list. It is amazing!
Quickmenu
I have found that this application makes my Treo unresponsive. I noticed that after selecting the application, my phone seems to hang or be very slow. I have uninstalled it until I can figure what is making it unresponsive.

lew, i sent you a pm, id love to get rid of palm dialer and the att/bt logos while keeping red/green button functionality.
I got what I need installed (memmaid, total commander) i just dont know what to do.
what registry settings did you use to get the green and red phone keys functional again after disabling the carrier/bluetooth icons?
Green/Red Button Functionality
Use the following steps to remove the carrier info/bluetooth logo and still use the green/red buttons.
I got rid of the carrier info by way of the removal of "Active Call" and "Dial Lookup" startup items. These were removed using MemMaid. At this point the device will revert to the WinMob dialer. Pressing the green button will launch the dialer and pressing the red button will cause it to go away. However pressing the red button will NOT end a call. You have to press the "End" button on the screen or hangup via your BT device button.
You will need to change the service called "VOL0" to "manual" (MemMaid again).
You will no longer be able to select your ringer in the standard way. You will need to make the change in the registry. HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds is where the change is made. The entries PlmORingTone1, 2 and 3 are the entries for Known Unknown and Roaming calls. You will have to copy and paste (and over-write) the entries from there to "RingTone0", 2 and "RoamingRing0". PlmORingTone1 and RingTone0 are for "Known"callers. You will have to make this change every time you want the ringtone to be different. These steps are not necessary for changing the ringtone of a contact.
You need to remap the device keys. (Backup your device OR copy the values down BEFORE you make any changes if you want to go back!!) Make the following changes in the registry. In HKLM\Security\Phone change the Charmap to "ertdfgxcvzubo" and the Keymap to "ERTDFGXCVZUBO". In HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin change Enabled to "0".
Reset the device
NOTE: These changes are only necessary if you want to use the standard WM6(.1) dialer. Original Values for the Charmap and Keymap entries
Charmap "ertdfgcvbyuio"
Keymap: "ERTDFGCVBYUIO"

Thanks for the tutorial, but now the red key no longer turns off the screen. Any ideas
Red Button No Longer Turns Off Screen
I too have the same problem with the red button. To aleviate this I have created a button shortcut that allows me to lock the phone by pressing one button. Using QuickMenu, in the options, on the command tab, choose lock from the list and click on create shortcut. You can now assign a button to this to lock the phone. I choose the OK button. So if I press and hold OK, my phone will lock.
By the way, the issue that I was having with QuickMenu was a conflict with CTRL-Pro. After removing it I am now able to use QuickMenu without any problems.

I use the executable and DLL's from http://www.alensw.com/attachment/QuickMenu_2.7.rar
I extract to ExtROM and create a shortcut to the EXE in windows\startup.
All the settings are stored in the registry, use total commander or your preferred flavor of reg reader to import/export for backup/restore purposes.
Cheers
why not use the "hidelogo.cab"
The hidelogo.cab causes a reset loop with the HTC Home plugin.

Ouch!
If i'm not wrong, S2U2 can turn display off during a call. Great software!
I've tried two progs more: PhoneScreenLock and InesoftAddressBook.
Inesoft provide many features including display switch off during a call.
Phonescreenlock keep the display on showing info about the call, locking the screen.. but with long conversation you may frie your ear
Bye
KK
Any updates on this one please? I have the same problem with running gazillion apps on my Polaris with my ear in call as benjb did.
Tried PhoneScreenLock - did not work well for me because its buggy (the lock screen pretty often appears somewhere BELOW the in-call buttons or start menu and needs to be switched to via closing in-call screen, which obviously renders it useless).
The InesoftAddressBook is not an option either, cause I already have other address book app and would like to stick with it (BTW my current address book has "slide-to-pick-up-call" feature, which makes me afraid that it would conflict with S2U2).
Sadly the Polaris doesn't have motion or light sensor... It would make my life sooooo easier with ZuinigeRijder's TouchLockPro...
So any ideas on what else I could use please? Thanks!
two things...
1) Are you aware that after you answer/make a call but before you put the phone up to your ear you can press the power button (not press & hold, just press & release) which will turn off the display, but not disconnect your call (or, turn off your phone)? No stray on-screen button pushing this way! With the screen off the "end call/hang up" button still functions and when you press it the screen will come back on immediately. If you need to access your address book or make a note etc during a call, press & release the power button and it will turn the screen back on and not effect your call in any way. If your phone is set up like mine and it returns to the home screen each time the screen is turned on, then simply press the green phone button and the dialer comes back to the top.
2) If #1 doesn't do it for you and you need software to accomplish this, then search this forum for MissedCallReminder (just like that - no spaces). Besides having an option to "lock screen on connect" it has a very handy feature (the main feature actually, as the name indicates) of being able to set up repeat reminders for missed calls and missed sms messages. Very handy. It can be setup to run automatically at startup so you don't have to remember to start it up manually. It also automatically unlocks the screen when you end your call.
Turned out I had bookmarked the app, so here's a link:

Incoming Call Softkey lockout Help needed

Hi;
I have the HTC S640. The included key lockout works great to disable the phone while it is idle - so no problems there.
It's when I get an incoming call - the softkeys light up and are enabled. So as I pull my phone out of the holster or my pocket, it tends to accidentally push the buttons as they are out from the phone a little. So I hangup or prematurely answer a call.
is there software that will lock out these keys? or maybe a regedit to disable the buttons (softkeys) till I unlock the phone?
any suggestions (other than get a new case) are welcomed.
no ideas? love the phone, just don't need the buttons activated till I unlock and answer the phone - or answer with the bluetooth set

[REQ] A way to desactivate call button ?

I personally never use the hard call button to make a call, and it is still often a source of accidental calls.
I use Exidler's Hd2ProximityScreenOff, so i don't need in theory a screen lock. Very, very usefull. Some accidental calls have been made though.
Here is what i found so far :
- Vangrieg InCall Lock is great, but works only when a call is received.
- Aebutton plus doesn't help for long press on call button.
- I searched on whole registry for "cprog.exe" (The dialer processus) without interesting founds.
I would be so grateful if someone find a way to remove this call function when pressing the button, if possible using with no process in background ...
Why dont you just enable the lock screen that way you cant accidentally make a call when it comes on.
thank for your reply optiknerv.
with hd2proximityscreenoff, I think we are in a new and intuitive way to use phones, something apple did not patent already ! ;-)
we dont need anymore a screen lock, but kind of key lock can be, in very rare cases, useful.
I guess it is impossible to map this button ...
Have you ever tried AEBPlus??
It locks every kind of key - software keys too - and make them addressable to other application
You'll find it on http://ae.inc.ru

Why insist to map the button? Screen lock solves your problem. Try S2U2 or TLP. They will make sure you don't press the green hard key by accident. If you use proximity to auto unlock, there is no extra action on your side. The green hard key (and the phone) is locked whenever the phone is in your bag or pocket.
thanks you very much alex. touch lock pro solved my problem and can use well proximity sensor after some settings.
