Device wakeup by shaking - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Kholk mentioned his HD2's hardware buttons didn't work, and we looked into the possibility of waking the device by shaking it. This utility creates a message queue and monitors power notifications. When the device is suspended, this application is put in unattended mode allowing it to continue running. Also the GSensor is requested to stay awake so it can remain to be polled. A few hours of coding resulted in the attached application. Credits go to mligor for this port and OpenNETCF for a good example of creating a message queue in managed code.
The application has no user interface, just start it, suspend ur device by hitting the power button, and shake it to see if it turns on. I don't know the exact impact of this on the battery drain, so I would suggest killing the process or performing a softreset after you've seen the show ;D
Update (06-01-2010): I've added a native version, I think this will perform a little better. It could also be a bit easier on battery drain. Source code also attached.
Update (07-01-2010): added my own installer (with start menu shortcut, source code left out, and updated program). Soft-reset before installing this. This version also prevents multiple instances of the program to be running, causing only extra battery drain.
Update (09-01-2010): fixed two bugs, should now be stable!

Great work and nice idea

Interesting...will give this a go! thx...
Any hints as far as installation?

Great job... I hope the sensibility is low cause i don't want to wake my hd2 in my pocket when i'm running

Very Very Nice !
Thanx
A CAB version is attached

Thank you mate!
Now I can use my HTC HD2 without problems (and without buying another HD2!)
Lovin' you <3

It would be very useful program if you could add proximity sensor instead of gsensor.
But its first step to something

Unfortunately for me, it works for the first two wakes, then it stops working.
Anyone experienced the same issue?
EDIT: Strange. Now it works ^^

It's would be better to add proximity sensor. Keep the shake to wake up, but add proximity sensor. This way, if the phone is shaked, but in the pocket, he will not wake up Take the both for more efficacity isn't?

it should work on topaz.
I've included a native version which doesn't use .NET CF, so it should be a bit more efficient. The new version is included in the first post.

are you able to add a function shake to lock like the bug in hdwobble?
Shake2Lock&Shake2Unlock would be a nice thing.

I'm not aware of hdwobble and without extensive configuration options for this program I don't see how this would be a useful feature. This was mainly a proof of concept and the native version was a simple exercise for me as I hadn't written a native app for winmo before, so I don't really have plans to extend it further. Source code is provided for those who are interested in adding features or changing stuff such as sensitivity etc. or adding a GUI but I wasn't planning on doing so. If I update this code again it will only be a commented version of the current source. Sorry.

Working nicely on the HD - Blackstone

[BETA] WM6 Dailer Skin - Big Buttons & Smartdail

At last:
Now we have a way to have a big button Dailer Skin WITH Smartdail.
I have rebuild the dll from scratch, and now we can use it for dailerskinning WM6.
The attached skin is a BETA, this means not everyting looks nice, but it is a great starting point for making new skins, or adapting existing skins.
To do (DLL):
-Layout tweaking (I am not happy yet with the overal layout)
Please post your suggestions here, and I'll consider them, and the good ones will be incorperated into the dll, and eventualy into the dailer-skin builder I am working on.
Skin:
See attached jpg:
OMG I freaking LOVE you man! It looks amazing! I am going to keep it! It looks a lot better than the standard layout, and GREAT for dialing with the fingers (I have an invidisible shield screen pretector so its practically scratch resistant). Not only that, for some reason, it FIXED my redialing issue. With the new crossbow rom, it wouldn't call the most recent person on the history list because it was organized in alphabetical order. A history log should obviously be organized by TIME. But i dunno man, it works and I just wanted to say kudos! U have really made my device a million times easier to call vai touch screen. To begin, touch screens alone are rather annoying to call from because there simply isn't any "physical push-back" button response. But with the large buttons, its practically FLAWLESS. THANKS AGAIN!
It is something i would consider using permanently. However some minor suggestions would be to shrink the text of the list of last people called so you and possibly widen it across the screen, so you could see more than just two recent entries.

Thanks for your comments
As for the sugestions:
The backspace button is a bit in the way for the calllist, but I'll try to widen the list and still keep a backspace button in one form or another, or else find a way to edit the fontsize of the list.
great work on that! I wish I knew how to help you fix the last few things or make new similar skins (colours). If you need any help let me know!

Just choose the background, select the button-layout, adjust the transparency of the buttons, press: build cab, and presto, you have created a new skin

This version works on WM5? I can't upgrade to WM6 year because BT DUN has been removed so I'm stuck for now.
FYI this is working great on my Cingular 8525 (Hermes) with WM6.
Wow! Really nice dialer! I love it!
I wonder if you could do the same thing with the dialer from the wm5 that looks cool. I downloaded from somewhere and it is the dialer in Vista style! I am attaching it.
Thank you very much for this before I saw this post I was about to give up on the wm6,(fingers are too big for the small dialer)
1 question,
When I start dialing and numbers come up if I press the down on the pad and then the middle pad button it shows me the last dial screen, before it used to dial the number ?

wizard reTOUCHed 5.2.1413 with Touchflo-cube FINAL

Due to the many request:
wizard reTOUCHed FINAL
FINAL
There will be no more updates on this 5.2.1413 ROM, My goal is achieved: packages are ready to use in other kitchens.
-HTC Camera
-Pocket MSN
-esmertec Java
-battery status
-pocket RAR/ZIP
-registry editor, taskmanager
-Total Commander
And of course all the TOUCH files
The Cube is invoked by the voicedial button.
-Slide Finger UP the first time to invoke
-Slide finger up in order to hide
-slide finger from side to side, the next time you want to invoke.
The known bug(s):
-OK/X button
FIX: use the re-alignment settings as shown in this post)
Or you could try the reg file in touch.zip attached in this post
-No mms
FIX: use the Asukal mms cab from here to install MMS features. (don't install the pocket MSN, it's already integrated)
-No icon for zip-file
FIX: install the reg in the zipicon.zip archive.
-while editing today screen, it could freeze up.
FIX: install the reg in today-set-freeze-fix.zip
-`Maybe a bug': Bluetooth headsets fail with some users, they do pair, but don't function! Others report it being fully functional.
Not a bug, but a feature: there are only Dutch and Belgium city's available in the today-weather app.
Replace the HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml with your own..
NEWER OEM Packages used for the Build of Beta V2b
Here are the OEM Packages For Touchflo.
Note:
---> in order to use the packages, you will need to delete some files and modules from the Kitchen <---
--->So this is NOT plug and play<---
Use duplicate file finder (freeware) and add some extra filters for mui, lnk and dat.
Then you still have to remove the modules.
The OEMAPPS package still contain files not belonging there, so some could be moved to a new package, however, it's sanitized the best I could (regarding the time I've had)
I have tested these packages only as a complete unit, not the separate packages!
-So the problem could occur that a stand-alone package would not work.
DOWNLOAD THE NEW V2B PACKAGES HERE
FIX YOUR BUTTONS WITH THE FOLLOWING SCREEN ALIGNMENT:
Alling your touchscreen as shown in attached image.
This will fix all of the button problems.
Or you could try the touch.reg in the touch.zip (these are my alignment settings, could work, could fail, if it fails retry aligning according my instructions)

verify under settings/buttons that button 4 is set for the cube function.
Once you press button 4, release it, then slide your finger from left to right.
Once it starts rotating screens, to exit back to the "home" page, go from bottom to top.

the splash screen's nice, but after i flashed the first time, button 4 was empty and it wasn't in the button settings' drop down menu.
after second flash, it works and it's SOOOO COOOL! i didn't go to the button settings thing at all for fear of it being empty again and then me pressing ok and then losing it forever like the first time i flashed.
lots of fun to try, thanks!
edit:
i went to button settings again and lost it once again. i clicked buttons (in settings), saw that button 4 was empty (after cube had just worked) and had to press ok to get out of it and now i can't find it (nor use it). other than that, it's cool.
Hi Dave,
what does that rom include? only the cube part what about the flicker browsing?. . .hehehe that's what i wanna have in my wizard.
hope the community can work on this . . . no doubt in that!

so the action of going to settings-buttons removes the entry? Hmmm... I wonder, even though the registry is specifying the application for the button when it's opened, when the button control is invoked - it doesn't match to a predefined list and thus removes it. Once it's open, it has overwritten the registry... just thinking out loud...
yep, you got it. meanwhile (after flash #3 in the past hour), i'm going to have fun with this and not even think about touching the "buttons" icon in settings until someone who knows how to deal with it can fix it.
i haven't been looking but the only french of the today screen is the htc audio plugin when it displays the "tap here to play songs.." or something.

orb works

Hi guys and galls,
Have been working on OEM packages, in order to use these things in other kitchens/ROM's.
So a touchflo rom will be possible from a kitchen of your choice.
Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.
The azerty keyboard is a pain, I know.
But I will be able to import my packages to a clean, WWE kitchen, so a lot of junk will be lost.
@ davefan, only 3 times?
Must be a fluke, I didn't have that problem.
I have flashed so often this weekend I lost count, have switched batteries a lot of times (thank god for the desktop turbo charger). Also glad I had a sd backup, because at a given time the phone was protesting a lot, didn't even wanted to be flashed in bootloader..
man, you don't sleep to much, don't you

good job. Link organization is the last thing I do when cooking. I get all the apps in, work on the bugs and then...the links.
First impression.
First impression: very nice. Fast, responsive - love the green color.
I'm not a fan of HTC Home - few sec after flashing it was gone (replaced with pointui 2.0).
I'm also more accustomed to X closing programs then using QuickMenu, though I must say it's quite nice.
Apps choice is not bad but I'd include also:
1.TouchResponse
2.Opera/Skyfire
3.FingerMenu
Imho those are basics but what do I know

Well if you want to see a screen saver you have to disable Dim backlight and Turn off screen after x minutes otherwise the screen will switch off !
As for which screensaver it uses I did notice that I had to select matrix a couple of times before it stuck.
It also seems that the daemon runs the screensaver in the background which will have an adverse affect on battery life.

[Q] [Request] resizable onscreen button mod

Hi at all!
My request is if it's possible to have a mod that enables onscreen buttons (better if resizable) and disable the soft keys of our one s!
I have to do this request because some people have an issue with soft keys of the one s that interference with gsm antenna and this will be a nice workaround for that, until the official htc radio bug fix.
Here you can find the thread about the issue and there is also a spreasheet to collect signature of the issue. (we are about 150 till now)
Thanks at all, that will take us and help!

Check Button Saviour - the Pro variant costs only little money and lets you remap the original buttons. Maybe you can disable the buttons too. I am not going to test this as i was using it with my HD2 already and i hated these artificial buttons. I want the real ones to work, but if it helps you, you could always try.
thanks!
but i was thinking about the ics onscreen button like gnexus because they are more integrated in the system.

So, like porting that from the Gnex onto the One S?
But that's kinda hard i think because we have sense on top of Android and that'd mess with it pretty much. Dunno, maybe som Dev has an idea then.
Probably easier to achieve on an ICS only ROM.
Capazitive Buttons
I've looked around a bit with something in the XDA thread CM9 found something interesting, it's there to change the layout / function of the capacitive buttons.
my intention is to find a Workaround regarding this Touch Button Issue
at least I've played around with some of the offered file and I have managed the home and the back button to swap.
This doesnt fix the problem but it makes it a little more tolerable, you can feel the still wriggling in the haptic feedback but the screen just does not jump back and forth., At least a little workaround until there is an update to it.
anyone who feels it can test it out, if necessary, please improve, I'm not the Hero in such Things :cyclops:.
the files can simply be flashed in the recovery.
please excuse my cruel English, it mostly came out of Google Translator
EDIT: it does not work on CM9 ROM !
will it work on Trickdroid?
I will test if it will
will it work on Trickdroid?
i've testet it on Energy Rom, on CM9 it endet in a Boot-loop, so i suspect it will work on stock based Roms.
works on trickdroid. Testing... thnx, btw =)
now it goes back from time to time. Is it possible to put back action to back button, make Recent apps button work like Home and disable Home button?
