unable to flash original ROM - Dash 3G, Snap ROM Development

Hi,
when I try to flash the original 6.5 ROM for my HTC Snap, flashing continues to 13%, then the phone restarts, then flashing continues to 26% and then the phone hangs until a Error-Message appears on the Desktop (Error 262). HardSPL 1.17 is on the phone.
After half an hour of desperation (and some more efforts) I tried to flash 3VO-ROM again (I already used the newest version before) - and thanks god that worked.
But I would like to give the original ROM a try. Any hints?
[Thread can be deleted - found same problem after posting the message, sorry ]

For reference: hardSPL causes this behaviour. If you flash back to the stock SPL stock ROMs flash fine.

[260] Rom Update Error

I tried flashing my device from WM6 Titanium2 to the 2.26 t-mobile official rom so that I could flash with a new rom, i'm trying to aim for the new TNT rom, any idea why i cant downgrade to an official? it says my rom version is 10.1.0.811 wwe, such a low number? any ideas on how to make this work? it went to recovery mode with the update util but it still recovered fine to my old OS, didnt go right to the colorful bootloader.
[edit] i turned my device off, held camera button and turned it on to bootloader mode, and ran the RUU and it worked, weird.. still curious as to why it wouldnt work the other way.
well i had the same issue once.
It was very strange but at the end it worked.

Help my cooked rom always fails at 25%

I'm trying to create a factory standard HTC three uk rom as there doesn't appear to be one already cooked. I followed the wiki guides to dump and cook my rom. However when flashing it always fails at 25% any ideas? i have re-tried cooking and flashing several times, still same error.
info
The rom is wm6.0 and radio 1.27.15.32
before flashing i successfully flashed my device with L26's new throttle rom (beta 6)
Do you get an error message when it fails?
Thanks
Dave
sorry for the late reply i re-flashed tonight as i could not remember error, its error 262 "the rom update utility encountered communication errors during the update process"
Sorry to ask but, have you installed Hard SPL yet?
Dave
yes i ran hard spl version 1 before flashing, i have sucessfully flashed other roms just not the one i cooked

upgrade to WM6 close to fail ?

Hello,
First my question :
I'm now thinking about reinstalling official ROM but my question is : should I remove Hard spl and move back to initilial IPL/SPL before loading the WM5 rom.
Then the context:
I'm a newbie and 2 days ago I've tried to upgrade my I-Mate K-Jam to WM6.1.
After having carrefully read several thread and in particular the thread "Wizard Windows Mobile 6 for newbies" i first start to unlock my G4 mobile with HardSpl. This was a great success so I moved on to the next step loading a WM6 ROM. I choose the WizFlo 6.1.1.4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=435228) but this was not a success since my K-Jam was just looping on the splash page/alignment wizard and reboot. I really thought that I had turned my mobile into a brick but was still continuing to investigate and yesterday evening I've learned how to just start the bootloader by pressing the camera button while starting-up. Yepee, 2 a clock this morning, I succeed loading the vanilla version of the TNT rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388229. Super everything was working fine so I went to bed.
This morning, very proud of what I've done alone I just decided to move from the TNT vanilla version to the professional version. This was a mistake since then I was never able to restart my K-Jam. It just freeze on the TNT splash screen. I've tried to reload several other rom but the TNT splash screen remains and my mobile just continue to freeze.
I'm now thinking about reinstalling official ROM but my question is : should I remove Hard spl and move back to initilial IPL/SPL before loading the WM5 rom.
Thanks in advance for your help
YES!
In order to revert back to official rom, you'll first have to remove HardSPL,otherwise it'll Brick the phone.
Secondly, have you tried a Hard Reset,it might help the phone to start working. Is your battery fully charged ?
After getting the phone HardSPL,there's no reason for any wm6 roms like TNT to stuck up,it might be that the battery is weak or flat.
Get the battery fully charged, try a Hard Reset, otherwise reflash TNT.
Thanks for your answer, I'm not sure about the batterie status. Am i able to refill the battery in bootload mode. or does the official K-jam charger work in my mobile is not yet started.
Almost a week I'm working on my mobile but no sucess yet.
One more question, Is there any special restart or reboot to be performed once the rom load process is complete ?
I've tried to install Loverom or merlin rom but even if the splash page change I never go furher. I'm now considering on moving back to an official ROM. But since I didn't backed up mu rom before all of these update process I'm gone use a download one.
K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship.exe. This official package install a ROM file and the RUU utility, but how can I check that the rom does not contain IPL nor SPL file.
Is there a way to check rom content before a load. I'm using hardspl and I've read that if I instal a ROM with IPL/SPL i will turn my device into brick.
May be I should also remove hardspl but how can I do this ?
Solved !!
I just notice a format error when hard reset.
Google it and find his thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=428312&highlight=format+error&page=3
Fixed yepeeee.
thanks to all for your help.
Good that you solved it finally, Happy Flashing

i had a flash problem

i tried to reinstall a new rom on my htc vox. i've done all things right, USPL 1.16, phone entered bootloader. then i tried to install the new rom and at 3% i recieved the following message: flash error.
i tried with a couple of roms, same thing. why did that happen? then i tried to reinstall an official rom, didnt work, SPL changed to 1.34, and phone went to service, new mainboard, back to orange rom.
so, why did i recieve that message? i dont want to repeat the procces without finding the reasons why it didnt work.
sorry for bad english

Suddenly can't flash!

Current Setup :
HardSPL (latest, 3.56 I believe)
Radio: 1.65.29.22 (from Niki or Neon, almost positive it was Niki)
Solace v3.1
Decided I wanted to go back to newest radio, attempted to flash to it; hit a snag at about 78%. Progress didn't update for a while, then to 100%. Update app said there was a flash error, and it did not complete correctly. Device restarted, stuck at bootloader. Re-attempted the flash, same result.
Next, I tried flashing AT&T's latest ROM. Stalled at about 76%, message about having a communication error, walked through the apps troubleshooting steps; it tried (and failed) again.
Tried the latest HTC direct ROM, same result.
Tried to flash the latest HTC via MicroSD card, got 20(ish) percent through, the Radio line then went red and said "RSA Failure". Then that whole process died on me as well.
The only way I can get my device back up to run MTTY to remove the RUU flag. When issuing the "task 8" command to format, it instead reboots the phone. The phone will come up normally after that.
Since I got it back up, I have tried flashing once again, and am getting the same result. Am I just stuck here now?
It's not that I don't like this ROM, I'm just wanting to update the radio. Any ideas what else I might be able to try?
Try using the search function next time before you create a new thread.
If you would tryed you could find this post
Yes, thank you...except that I started my thread saying that the proposed solution was exactly what CAUSED the problem to begin with. I tried to flash to the 1.70.x radio, which is where I got the flash write error.
Anyone else?
Now that you can get it up normally, have you tried going to a stock HTC ROM first, then the new ROM, then the radio? Or HTC, radio, new ROM? I'd probably do it the second way. You said you tried flashing stock before getting it up again, and that you tried flashing after getting it back up, but you didn't state what you've tried flashing after getting it back up.
Since I've gotten it back up, I've tried both OEM and radio only. Both have the same result.
Really at a loss now as to what to try next.
Did you try the 3.29Hard2 SPL? I haven't encountered your issue and wish I could be mroe help here. My only thoughts would be to try a different SPL, or perhaps looking into the ForceUSB issue. Best of luck.
