I noticed that with every clip I play, coreplayer exhibits frame drops...
My video settings are : directdraw / smoothzoom ON / Dither checked.
try to play a clip, and after it has been partially/fully played, enter "menu" -> "media properties" and see if yours exhibits too. maybe it needs better drivers, or my unit is somewhat defective (ROM 1.48wwe).
Sorry, where i can find the original HD video of HELICOPTER? Thanks

I have the same ROM. I think you should use GDI instead of directdraw, just checked with The Matrix, no dropped frames ;-)).
frame drops
Shut down all communication, use airplane mode. whilst updating twitter, coreplayer can stutter like flashing disco light. when htc is updating email it will frame drop...but only slightly.
so to summerise, try going into airplane mode.
Thanks guys.
Tried what you suggested - still dropped frames. tried again after a hard reset without a sim card in the device. still.
What am I doing wrong?!
you sure you watched the videos for amount of time before checking inside "media properties"?... just loading a clip and getting into this menu will obviously show "0", since nothing has been played yet.
ähm,
can you give proberities of media, please.
(for example ....bitrate, 800*600 ... )
core-options: zoomfactor? which is yours? best fit or streched ..?

BUT FILESIZE .... dit you use any bitrates .... your filesize is 16 times smaller than mine (or i need glases)
you could be lucky, that yo have only 74 drops ....
happy new year.
Use new DivX Mobile Player 0.93 is the best for divx.

It's more like 1 minute and 41 seconds, to me...
Man, i got this same problem. I've tried everything with coreplayer, all different settings, plane mode. Still drops on playing films.
I even convereted to mp4 and it still drops. I know it's coreplayer problem because the htc player and windows media play the mp4's fine.
The only video i've seen it play without drops is a low quality 3gp file.
I even tried different versions of core player but still the same results. I'm on rom 1.48 so maybe this is the problem, but i doubt it. I'm updating to 1.66 soon so we will see......
Coreplayer will never get anywhere near the level of performance that WMP and HTCAlbum can manage on file formats that they can handle, because they are GPU-accelerated and CorePlayer is not. Use them for mp4's, and CorePlayer for things they can't handle.
Best settings for CorePlayer:
"Best fit" zoom, Dither on, smooth zoom on/always, DirectDraw as renderer, YUY2 as DirectDraw overlay format, tick "use device stretching when blitting", untick "overlay with colorkey" and untick "use blitting instead of overlays".
To get better performance, try disabling Sense UI as well as going into "airplane mode".

Ok mate, yeah i know your settings, i've given up to be honest. But what is strange is that sometimes it will play the file without any drops and then most of the time it will drop badly. Even after a soft reset straight off.

since i have a slow wifi connection in my place, can i set youtube videos to disable HD mode by default? this may speed up very much..
thx =)
don't know about HD but u can turn off the high quality, go on youtube, press the menu button(topright), click settings then uncheck high quality
ya i know that, thx, but what i want is set "disable hd" by default =)
Call me weird but most of the time I play my videos at 200% speed. I change this in the main settings, not while watching the video. As soon as I back out of the video or turn off the device, the settings turns back to 100 in that video, but not really 100% because it sounds like it is slowed down. When I manually change the settings back in the video (in main it is still 200) everything is fine, even if I back out again)

Goto Settings » Player & disable "Remember Selection"
It seems to be issue in saving file specific settings.
Reported to the development team. Will be fixed in future.
Sorry, but that does not seem to do the trick.
Thanks for reporting it.
Images attached below explain the behavior, it only happens in 3D apps not all of them but mostly on games. Probably when something needs to be rendering.
Also would like to add to the issue above, screen sometimes goes half-black(%50) and sometimes %60, from right to left.
It always happens, but rarely and randomly. And in order to make it appear more often (almost always) I do the following;
Always 4K mode (adb shell wm size 2160x3840)
Under 'Developer options' -> 'Input'; 'Show Taps' option is enabled. -> Without this it happens very rarely.

Does this occur if you aren't on always 4k mode? try reverting back to the default wm size (wm size reset/wm density reset). Could be an issue with the 4k mod.

(Always: either on 1080 or 4K)
It happens very often when there is some overlays like status bar and massanger and others. And only while playing games.
Fix by downgrade to Nougat
i have this issue also. it comes when playing PUBG and asphalt 8. its gone after i downgrade to Nougat. I think the problem is Oreo lately version
Brightness control in Video applications (does not seem to work, 1 or 30 is the same).
I'm testing with nPlayer and MX Player (what I normally use), I'm finding I'm unable to control the brightness from within the video app, while it moves up and down the brightness never changes. One App I'd blame it two, I'm thinking something else is blocking them from adjusting the setting for brightness.
I thought maybe permissions, but that does not seem to be it.
Any idea?

Just tried this on Mx player and you're right ! Very weird. Annoying too . Will look into this.
Noticed on Mx player if you go into settings and have brightness set to minimum it dims to what you set it to but when you go out of settings it defaults to max brightness ! Very weird.
Very annoying, but also glade it is not only me.

Hi, I have Z flip 3 for 2 days, and have finally (!!!) managed to get music play continuously without interruptions/pausing when phone closed (external DAC/AMP to IEMs).
Equipment: Z flip 3 >> Neutron player >>transport out through USB OTG cable>> Monoprice Monolith THX DAC/AMP>>Sony EX800ST IEMs
If anyone is interested, please let me know, I just got home from night shift, will sleep and after I will happily provide all info (full write up) if needed (late tonight Amsterdam NL time).
Could not find nothing on the net, but got it working, tested 6+ hours with my IEM's.
Also, it includes debloating through computer and ADB.
_\|/_ peace.
When I received the phone I tried to change all possible phone settings, but the playback to Dac/Amp would stop every time I closed the Flip (sometimes right away, sometimes after a few minutes).
Once I ADB debloated the phone using this guide
How To Remove Bloatware on Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G and Improve Performance - NaldoTech
If your Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G is becoming slow or acting in a weird way, there are a plethora of solutions to this issue. You can factory reset the phone
www.naldotech.com
... the phone kept its playback to USB indefinitely. From the above list of tweaks I removed 4 lines containing Calendar, Clock, My files and Soundalive. Factory phone reset works (I tried) after above ADB cleanup.
Phone settings:
Developer options (MIGHT be related settings for successful continuous playback when phone closed):
stay awake >ON
OEM unlocking >ON
USB debugging >OFF (after ADB'd)
Default USB config >selected NONE
Disable ADB auth. timeout >ON
Verify bitcode of debuggable apps >ON
I have all other Developer options set to OFF.
Other notable settings I changed to make it work:
Always ON display >ON (10 AM-9:59 AM) LOL
Wallpaper services: NONE
Cover screen: Turn on screen for notifications>ON
Double tap to turn screen: >ON for both
XXX
I believe that this is it. I might have forgotten to list some setting, but believe me, I am not going to change none of it, I am happy it finally works. I might search for a specific setting if you request. None of it worked until ADB'd for sure.
So basically when you close the Flip phone, internal screen turns off, and small external screen stays on all the time, I selected the smallest possible widget with least, very small text and have brightness to 1 step up from minimal.
As this is OLED, the power consumption is negligible.
In Neutron player I have set Service - keep process running in background to ON
I open Neutron, start playback through internal phone speakers, LEAVE Neutron OPEN FULL SCREEN, turn on DAC/AMP, THEN connect USB cable, give Neutron permission(s) and flip-close the phone. This might be important.
Another thing is Youtube Premium 4 months for free, also gives playback when phone is closed. (unrelated)
Smoking Cigar ... LOL
After a few days I started turning things off, things that I said are 'necessary' as per my previous post, one by one.
This had no effect on continuous playback, OUCH!! EINSTEIN LOL
I found out, that in Neutron player in Settings/Audio Hardware, on top of the Settings page, you must see DRV USB-Audio - MONOLYTH HPA (Audio Track) as driver for fluent and uninterrupted playback.
This means in Neutron, turning on Generic Driver (red dot ON) and Hi-Res Codec (DIrect PCM) in its subfolder (red dot ON).
For best sound quality DSP Effect (device) in Neutron settings should be set to OFF to turn off Android Atmos/EQ etc. (At the same time, for keeping audio as original as possible, on the phone, in Sound quality and settings all must be disabled, and EQ put to Normal on the phone.)
DIrect USB access has to be off in Neutron, unfortunately, otherwise phone pauses music within a short time after being folded back.
Neutron MUST be set to NEVER SLEEP in battery submenu.
I am still troubleshooting, so far all seems ok. Will test some more.
Tested ... and WORKING as per post above. Music is pausing no more when phone closed. Tested intensively for 7 days.
This problem almost made me return the phone. Peace to everyone !!!
