Hi all. Slowly battling through these annoyances.
I can't find anything about this on a search, but I'm sure I remember reading about it. Does anyone know how to stop the device returning to the Touchflo 3D home tab every time I wake the device up? It's annoying when it goes off when I'm writing a text message or in a call or listening to music and I have to navigate all the way back.
Also, is there a definate answer to the "screen off during call" thing? I guess I could live with it for now if I can fix the other problem.
Hi, this will not help you but just for your info: my TF3D doesn't return to the home tab after wake up... You have a branded phone?
mine does'nt either so the answer is to switch over to ROMeOS rom

Mine does it sometimes but usually a soft reset stops the return to home screen.
Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I'm not bothered which tab it returns to, but say I have messaging open and the device falls asleep, when I wake it up it returns to the home screen so I have to navigate back to where I was. It's very annoying.
My unbranded 405 ROM TP does it and my gf's Orange branded Diamond does it.

Like i said, soft reset. Sometimes is could be a new bit of software you've installed, not much you can do about it unless you unistall it!
I've softresetted my device dozens of time's, I'm on ROMeOS but I have the same problem it doesn't stay in the app or folder where I left it, I have wondered about this. Others do to apparently, no help from me though

It's always done it, and my gf's diamond has always done it. It's definately a feature of the ROM and is highly annoying.
What about the option for returning to the today screen in the Today options? Try setting it to never and see if that fixes it for you.

That sounds just the trick, but where is this option?
Can't see it in in Start > settings > today
EDIT: found this on the Diamond forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409374
They have the same problem. the thing you suggested is for today timeout. It won't affect how locking takes me back to the today screen.
Come on guys, this is super annoying. Surely someone must have a solution?
I leant my phone to the singer in my band today as he was reading some lyrics from the internet for a cover song we're doing. He was going mad about it because the damned thing kept returning to the home screen mid-song.
I like the lock/autolock feature but I don't want it to go back to the home screen every time.

Does anyone know of a fix for the long lag in answering calls for the HTC Touch Pro? If you can help please write back in the simplest terms! I am just learning how to use the phone and finally learned how to download and install cab files.
Thanks!

What have you installed (to cause this problem)?
Do a search for "diamond tweak". There is an option to shorten the delay when an incoming calls rings. Perhaps that will help.
if you have S2U2 installed, you could try uninstalling or disabling that. You could also switch from the Diamond dialpad to the regular WinMo dial pad (the screen you see when go to the dialer). You can make this change using the Advanced Config Tool (i'm pretty sure, if not, then try Diamond Tweak).
There's also the initial delay value in the registry as mentioned in the last post.
These should all help, some more than others though.
there actually is an issue with Diamond tweak and advanced config...
if you use them to set your data disconnect time if re writes a registry value that makes your phone fritz when trying to answer calls.in reg editor go to HKLM/comm/connmgr/planner.
Look for a entry of suspendresume. change that to #777. shold cure your issue. while you are there if you want to help out your battery change the Cachetime value to 60. that will kill your data afret 60 seconds of no use.
weird.....suspendresume on mine shows ~GPRS! as a value??

thanks for the suggestions and how do I fix the hang up lag?
The slow delay in answering calls was a problem right out of the box. When I installed the slide to answer function the phones responsiveness greatly improved. There is also a huge lag from the time I end a call to the time I can go back to my home screen. Any suggestions for fixing that lag?

no idea, but i have the same thing
No luck with the tweak mentioned in post #5. However, after I replaced the HD CallerID with the default WM one (which is not that bad!) the phone responds rapidly :
1) Zero lag between first caller's ring and screen respond.
2) Almost zero lag between first caller's ring and bluetooth handset ring.
3) Less than 0.5 ring before the device starts ringing.
Only a minor problem : The bluetooth icon does not show any more on the taskbar although the BT connections works fine !
Ok, where do you change to the default caller ID? I tried the registry edit and changing to the default dialer skin and had the same problem. This is so frustrating! About 50% of the time when it rings I hit the answer button and nothing happens. It even takes about 10 seconds before the screen changes from the home screen to the phone screen when it starts ringing.
How big a file for the ringtone are you using? The bigger the file, IMHO, the longer it'd take for the phone to load it...
Delete your call history and the lag after hanging up should disappear.
Htc Diamond Regedit
Hello,
I have a problem with my HTC.
I used PHM Regsitry. I found the Suspendresume key, and it wrote GPRS!
I clicked the key, and because I did not know who to change the value, I just wrote #777.
Now when I try to go there and change what I did, when I click Settings in regedit, it is emty or the program crackes.
Please help.
Paches and fixes
Goto HTC's website. There is a patch to resolve the issue for the delay in sound when answering calls.
Regarding the delay after the phone cal has been discontinued use "Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3" (search this site). There is a setting that you can change to resolve it (default is 3000ms[3sec])

This hangup delay is one of the first settings I changed when I got the phone. Almost everytime I scroll through contacts phonebooks, the phone would accidentally dial, so I press end end end repeatedly, but by the time it hangs up, the other party already had my caller id, and would call back asking why I called.
Why is this 3 sec delay built-in? There must be a reasoning behind it.
And while we're on the delay issue, why did they set the camera up with a 3-5 second delay to shoot? Is it for the autofocus? I got rid of the reg setting, now the camera is faster, and no autofocus issues... so why were these delays there to begin with?

its in Schaps Advanced config 3.3 under Camera. But i digress...
it still begs the question, from an engineering standpoint, why did they set up these delays and lags?

I don't know if you resolved your issue.
You just have to erase "~GPRS!" and type in "#777"
No quotes of course.
I use Dotfred Task Manager 3.1
Same problem
I recently got this problem with the answer lag, I was using the same rom, same applications, same everything for the past few weeks. I am not entirely sure what caused the problem.
What would happen is when I get a call and I hit the answer key, the phone stops ringing and vibrating but it would still be flashing and has the phone number shown, I also have the slider installed and when I slide it, the same problem comes up!
In my reg editor, I do not have HKLM!
Any advise would be appreciated, this is getting annoying for both sides of the call.
Thank You
UPDATE
I actually may have found the solution, I removed the wireless manager shortcut when holding the answer button, and so far it's been working very quickly.
Go to settings -> Buttons and switch "button 1" from w/e u had to "<none>" I didn't even restart my phone...
2nd Update
Nope, just got an international call and it's holding it up... maybe it has to do with caller ID ?
HKLM is HKey_Local_Machine
I'm not sure what happened, but I've been noticing that now when I boot up my VZW TP2, the launching touchflo 3d screen pops up, then goes away and there is nothing but a black background and the windows taskbar.
The black screen looks like a program with an all black background and no text/content, it has an X in the upper right hand corner and I can click that X to reveal TF3D.. I can also click anywhere on the screen and/or END key and reveal TF3D.
This happens at startup every time now.
Things I've done since I noticed the problem;
Installed HDBoobs
Installed Diamond Halogram w/ ATi Graphics Driver
Put HTCAPI.dll in the \windows\ directory
Installed .NET CF 3.5
Installed Schap's Registry Editor
Installed J.S. Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3
Installed Ilium Software Screen Capture
Installed Windows Live (newest version)
Installed Microsoft Facebook Application
Did '7MP Panorama' Tweak
Did 'Reveal 5 Hidden Camera Settings' Tweak
Things I've done after noticing the problem;
Installed Microsoft ICS
Installed Garmin MobileXT
Did 'Close Opera with X instead of minimize' registry mod
Did 'ResProxy ShareMemSize=0' registry mod
Installed NoPushInternet
EDIT 1:
I've now removed;
'ResProxy ShareMemSize=0' registry mod (slowed me down too much)
HDBoobs
Diamond Halogram w/ ATi Graphics Driver
Nothing has changed.
EDIT 2:
I had it setup to be password protected. After removing the password option and soft-resetting, the problem is gone. Is this a bug? Is there a fix for this? I know it seems minuscule, but this isn't how it should work and I want to fix it
I'd like to avoid doing a hard reset if possible.. so any advice, other than 'ignore it' would be appreciated.
I think that I have the same thing happening. I don't think that it was like this out of the box, but I'm not sure when it started. Basically, my phone loads showing the taskbar at the top and the two soft keys at the bottom. Everything in between is black. If I touch the screen, then the TouchFlo stuff shows up. After that, it's fine.
I do have a lock code enabled. It was forced by an Exchange Server policy. Not sure if this "issue" arose at that point or not.
I asked the same question here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=560636
Seems to be related to having the PIN lock enabled. I too am required to use this for work reasons, and have not found a way to get TF3D to display on boot up without having to touch the screen.

Here too
First I installed XDA shutdown to perform soft resets. Then the memmaid demo to further my efforts to be clean & mean. Just installed s-k-tools to my HTC Sprint Touch Pro 2 (because memmaid demo misreported my memory!)and after running clean I'm getting cprog.exe & sktools.exe errors and now "bluetooth stack failed to load" -my friggin bluetooth wont load. Only other non stock thing is Duttys disable push internet. Did I make a mistake in purchasing this tweakware? Can I rectify these situations without a hard reset? Somewhere along the way the black screen thing occurred too.

Do you have a password-required device lock setup? If so, and you're getting the black-screen issue just after you unlock your phone when you first boot it up (from an off state), then you're probably in the same boat as us..

WTF is HDBoobs?
LOL... I had the same question.

My screen goes crazy. During a call up to my ear it flips to horizontal, changes out of key pad view and not always to mute/speakerphone... keys view, sometimes to contact info, and can be a nightmare to get back to "end call." I've found times when the caller hung up but the TP2 put them on hold and kept my time going.
Any programs and or reg hacks to:
1) stop the horizontal flip when placed to an ear, and
2) keep it in keypad mode or general call mode?
Real pain when dialing into a system that requires keypad responses. Everytime I put it back to my ear I have to go through a crazy sequence to get back to the key pad.
This is my only complaint wth this phone, it's not easy to use as a phone!
Thanks.
I have the same problem when dialing into VM, or into any call queue. I looked through the registry a bit. Didn't see anything obviously labeled.
yeah me too. Only thing I could find was using Gyrators' exception list to not rotate the phone, but it wasnt 100% reliable. I would *LOVE* to find a way to stay in keypad mode too.
Hi All - I guess I'm just jumping on the bandwagon but I have the same issue and find it annoying. I loaded the 'incall screen tweak' but that didn't work. Any help more seasoned members than I could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!!!
I had the same issue too, whenever I put my phone up to my ear (left handed) it would go into landscape. The fix is simple but you have to edit a registry setting. I'm going by memory here, so please forgive the vague info
1) make sure to backup your reg info
2) using your favorite reg edit program, goto
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\Whitelist
3) now this is the part I kind of forgot, you need to find a string with the DATA value that includes "phone" or "dailer"
4) delete that string
5)soft reset and give it a try, the phone shouldn't go into landscape whenever you turn it during a call.

OK, I went where you said, but no dialer, and only phone entry is:
Phone/Lock/Compose/Picture
String= Dialog
And deleting this stopped "lefty" in call flipping? Doesn't make sense to me. Doesn't seem to only control dialer or phone.
Please confirm or anyone out there please help. I don't want to delete something don't understand.
Can I simple change Dialog to something like "Zero" or "0"?

That's it! forgot what the process name was, but yeah, deleting that stopped the phone from trying to change to landscape during a phone call. Deleting that will tell the G-Sensor not to change the orientation of the phone's screen during a phone call, however it also tells it not to change the orientation during a picture (which wasn't a big deal for me cuz I can change it when I view them in windows). You can always look up the process in google or even the forum search tool if you're still scared.
If anyone else is interested I tried a "partial" delete of the suggestion above. I created a new string leaving out the Phone.
Lock/Compose/Picture
String= Dialog
deleted old string with phone/....
So far no more "lefty" crazy problems, and pictures seem to appear in landscape.
Here's hoping all is OK!

Awesome, good job!
I installed Gyrator 2. Just create a new event with the phone as the application. Nothing for orientation, nothing on stylus, and rotate screen for actions. Then promote the event to the top. Highlight your new phone event and select orientation, it will have a check mark and a number one next to the event. It hasn't failed on me yet and I use the key pad all day long with my job!
I just upgraded to the Verizon official WinMo 6.5 and the registry hack doesn't seem to work anymore, and I'm having issues getting Gyrator to work, has anyone resolved this issue for WinMo 6.5?

I haven't had any of the issues with the 6.5 upgrade that were mentioned with 6.1. Haven't needed to add S2U2 since the screen lock is built in and the phone is much more responsive when placed to the ear and then moved away to access the keypad. It's not perfect but vastly improved over 6.1...
I guess my point is try it the way it is with 6.5 and see if you thinks its better. leave gyrator and reg hacks aside for a few.
I've mostly given up on browsing cause of the stupid ALWAYS ROTATE s*it the shove up our throat just 'case the iStuff has it. Even they put a rotation lock on the iPad.
If someone knows of a way to turn it off, please help!
I've already tried all the recommended stuff, most of it worked on 9.7, but nothing for the 10.
I tried the usual:
deleted opera from htc gsensor list
added the ideltime=100000000 registry string
searched and deleted anything remotely connected to it in the registry
I can't grasp why is it so hard to put an option for it in Opera???
I'm also willing to completely disable the gsensor.
IIRC I tried turning it off (in the HTC settings) in an older rom, but Opera still auto-rotated. Seems it only affected HTC apps

Actually, I don't believe I will. I've been look for a year for a solution, and still nothing. Even posted on the official Opera forums, still no replies.
I guess no body uses their phone for much browsing.
I did find a lousy workaround:
start Opera
press home button
position the phone at an comfortable angle
go back to Opera
hold the phone in that position
If you hold the phone still enough, it won't trip the darned auto-rotation.
Uncomfortable but kinda works.
The other one is to slide the keyboard out and use it in landscape mode, but that's even worse.
Opera 9.7
I had the issue wth Opera 9.7 as well, tried changing the registry etc. without success...
And solved with the help of BSB Tweaks 1.61.
1. Run Bsb tweaks.
2. Menu -> rotation
3. Select (check) Opera (opera_mainWndClass)
4. Options -> Rotation status -> disabled
5. Close -> Exit
6. Soft Reset
Other things such as album rotates, but opera doesn't.
Hope this helps.
