i tried to reset me g4 from bootload menu via the restore tool from the wiki and i have a screen stuck in this mode with nothing more help

1. try softreset or
2. try to go to bootloader mode then reset or
3. try to hardreset
if nothing helps and you can enter bootloader flash NVID ROM

well as i am upset a white screen appear after the setup and nothing more

what you mean white screen?
please read on wiki or on this forum how to upgrade official ROM..ask if you need help

well it updated and after the restart the blue screen fade to a white one and stays like that
i forget to mention that my device is cid locked

download and flash Qtek NVID WM 5.0 ROM or PVTemp ROM.

well it is an issue of battery maybe it is not working well and has no power to properly boot up ,just a thought but i will search for a new battery

HTC Magic 32a brick

Hi everybody
Sorry for my bad English I'm Belgian and I have a big problem with my phone
I bought my phone on ebay, it's a HTC Magic 32a TimMobile.
I installed GyD rom and it worked perfect. But yesterday, I look that the new version of this rom is available for RADIO 3.22 and RADIO 6.35.
Firstly, I install version for 3.22 (like mine) but the phone begin very slow. Then I wanted install new radio and spl from this forum.
I installed SPL 1.33.2010 on first and reboot my phone : no problem.
After I downloaded and installed the 1.76.2007 SPL HBOOT image, 6.35.10.18 Radio Image and Amon_RA Hero Recovery.
But with that, when I went in fastboot, my phone restarted after 5 seconds.
I see that 6.35.10.18 Radio is for CA then I downloaded 6.35.08.29 radio on my sd card. But when I installed this and that my phone reboot, I have a pics of installation with a phone and a arrow and after a few seconds screen begin dark and nothing else...
I can't access in fastboot, adb, nothing
Is there a issue or my phone is definitely brick ?

Did you flash Hero Recovery to your phone prior to using fastboot ?
Power off your phone
Press HOME + POWER simultaniously .......are you back in Recovery now ?

Same thing happened to me. I have the Canadian phone but ended up with that same graphic that fades to nothing in a couple of seconds. I never did get mine back but here's what I know:
The phone is in some kind of factory load mode and it is possible that it is looking for a specific file from the SD. I found that out by changing the SD format and seeing a linux style lost.dir directory appear on the card after a boot (home + back + tap power). It is trying to do something but gives you no control over what it wants. You should see it fade to a bluish screen that then fades to a whitish screen. I've tried all sorts of files named to update.zip but never found the right one.
Unless you can find the file it is looking for you are bricked. That experience scares me from flashing any more radio versions.

Hmm. And fastboot or adb dever finds your phone?

no usb isn't detect

I had the same problem when I tried to update my SPL.
At least, the symptoms are the same.
Luckily, I could enter the recovery, and as I had left the previous rom on the sdcard, I could restore it.

Hmm... If placing some ROM file on a SD card is all that needed to flash it in your case, why don't you buy SD card reader for PC (they cost like $5) of find a friend/relative with a notebook computer?

I already try to put ROM file into my SD but it didn't work

damn every other thread I see people have bricked their phones...

did you flash update-hboot-1.33.2010-signed.zip? I flashed it when I saw one of cursordroid's post, and then now it is dead and stuck on splash screen. I can't access fastboot via back+power or vol down+power, I can't access recovery mode either. It's definitely a brick.

Should be changed bricks of the ~ need to brush font. In China, probably around 500rmb.

Stuck at the boot screen

My magic was on the official sense UI, then yesterday I use the goldcard+RUU method to get it to something like this:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.76.2007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-6.35.08.29

Then when I tried to flash a new rom, it got the error at line 2 and installation aborted. I was using fastboot trying to get the cm recovery on it. then one things led to another... I can't remember much coz it was really late at night I kinda dozed off.
Anyway, my magic is not stuck at the boot screen. No matter what I press: back+power, vol down+power, menu+power, it's STAYED AT the BOOT SCREEN.
Is there anything I can do now? I would be grateful if you guys can give me some instructions!

Okay, after reading more on the forum, I think I screwed up during the SPL flash. So, is that it? My Magic is bricked? I can just throw it to the trash now?

well, if you didn't flash the radio first, and then the spl ( what spl did you load, anyway?) then yea, it may be inescapable

I performed a SPL flash, the phone rebooted ,it took long time rebooting so i got panicked i pulled out the battery ( wasn't a smart move ).
tried to start the phone.. now i was stuck at the first splash screen.
-pulled out the battery and back again start the phone... stuck at the first splash screen or boot looping endlessly,
-did all possible key combinations to get in fastboot, recovery mode... nothing.
-cried for help, got directed to a post similar to mo my case... worked for me hope it dose for everyone else.
here is what i did (followed):
-On the PC, i ran the command 'fastboot boot recoveryimage.img'.
-At this point the command says 'waiting for device' (or something like that).
-I removed the battery.
-I Connected USB.
-I inserted the battery.
-I booted the phone while holding the HOME key.
-The phone still froze at the first splash screen, but then suddenly, the waiting fastboot command detected the phone and booted the recovery image!
flashed again but this time checked step twice before i check it a third time, and flashed the SPL and radio and the rom.

Htc care fixed it for free and sending it back to me by dhl tomorrow (still free)

[Q] I can not go to HBOOT

Dear All,
Yesterday i've rooted my phone using bubby method, and at the end i have attempted to do ENG-OFF and after some time a message jumped up saying that the bootloader is corrupted. However, i've restarted the phone and everything seemed normal. Then, i've installed Android Revolution 4G 5.1.4 ROM through ROM Manager (installed ClockWorkMod Recovery), but it seems that i have lost HBOOT, because when i power down my phone and then holding volume down and pressing power button does not put the phone in HBOOT mode; it boots the installed android system instead (HTC logo appears on white background). Also in Revolution 5.1.4 in can not find "fast boot" (settings\applications\fast boot) option anymore. I wanted to install the latest att radio rom and it seems that preferred method is through HBOOT. So, how can i install HBOOT again?
I understand that i need to search through the forum; i can assure you, i have done that and nothing related shows up on the searches.

The Fastboot setting is now under Power (settings - power - remove check) then you should be able to get to bootloader

why was you trying to ENG-OFF ?
there is no reason to have ENG-OFF anymore unless you are developing
you can flash everything through the p98img file now without ENG-ON
S-OFF
Also, make sure you have fastboot enabled in the rom to get into HBOOT
hold down volume then press power button

@ homeslice976: Thank you very much, that was it. I could not disable "fast boot", because it was somewhere else. I guess i left 'settings\power' last, i did not look there ... After un-selecting "fast boot" i was able to go to hboot and change the radio rom ...
@ wade7919: I thought that ENG-OFF is the only way to flash new radio rom. Later on, i came across another forum thread that was describing the process of flashing radio rom through HBOOT. There, i read that this is safer way, and should be stressed to the noobs like me that this should be the only way ... Fortunately, i read it, and bubby's software did not do any damage (corrupted bootloader was the message, i think) to the phone. All good ...

so i semi bricked my phone htc magic, created a goldcard and used sappimg_sapphire_brasil_3.54.527.6_release_signed, it loads then at the radie update it shuts the phonee down to a blue led state and after that its back to the same, any suggestions

so my main is 3.54 this after a ruu from htcdev the latest belgacom one. after this i got fastboot remote not allowed, before i had bananabread running on it. then i tried like any ruu and some just boot to the hboot screen, other sappimg give main is older error, and this one (brazil)offers the update only it unpacks the radio v.2 then it updates but the phone screen goes death and phone does nothing anymore then after i pull the battery out.
