I'm pretty sure a few other people have had this happen, but searching these forums didn't turn anything up.
Basically, I just flashed to the latest EnergyROM and I am trying to connect my Fuze to my computer so that I can sync together my calendar, contacts, etc. etc.
The problem is that I always get this error message when first attempting to setup a partnership:
"There is no email program assocaited with this action. Please install an email program or, if one is installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
I've went into the default programs window and saw that Outlook 2010 isn't listed on there. I've restarted my PC a number of times, and to no avail.
Heres what I'm using:
HTC Fuze- Latest NRG ROM (Dec. 17)
Windows 7 x64
I have Outlook 2010 and I also tried with Outlook 2007
A few months ago, I tried this and it didn't work then.
I'm wondering if anyone has found anything regarding this? I searched google but nothing works! Any help will be appreciated.
Anyone have any solutions?
I'm watching this, too. If you don't acknowledge the error, the device won't sync.
Windows 7 ultimate
Mmph, can't post an external link. But if you search on your favorite search engine for "top drop help mapi" the FAQ page on wieser-software.com seems to have some steps to help. They didn't work for me but they seem to be on the right track... maybe someone else can figure out the missing step?
No resolution yet. Still hunting for it

I have had no problems with my Xda II mini, until about three days ago. I've been succesfully ActiveSync-ing my Outlook Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Files for about 4 weeks now, and then suddenly, while I was actually connected, three stopped syncing, and I got an error message "Attention Required" for each. My files are still syncing OK.
I've tried deleting the partnership and re-doing it, I've tried various "Fix" tools which are supposed to fix PST files in Outlook, and nothing seems to work.
Has anyone else had a similar problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks,
Graham
i've had the same problem
getting active sync to work now is real pain
i have clear out my inbox alot and then it works but thats not really a good solution
Complete removing email config in Outlook and reconfiguring it again helped me in the same situation. You have to remove it from the control panel->email->configurations.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't use it for email, just Calendar, Contacts and Tasks.
Still can't get it to work - even deleting the list of Tasks on the PPC and the desktop and starting with blank doesn't fix it. Any other ideas, I'm really stuck here . . . .
Thanks,
Graham
Your map32.dll in c:\windows\system32 will bad. Copy the correct one of 100 plus KB size
Thanks for the idea - I'll try it, and let you know.

Another thing, ensure that you registered your copy of outlook 2002 is registered as if it is not it would stop syncing

Haven't had chance to check all of this out yet. But, could it be anything to do with the following error message I've suddenly started getting in Office?
"This document cannot be registered. It will not be possible to create links from this document to other documents."
I continue to run into an issue with WM Live where I am trying to get my email as it is received into my account.
Is anyone else having a problem where its not syncing all the time?
Same here
From of yesterday I guess
Would you guys mind posting some more information with your Windows Live problems???
Like what ROM you are currently running and maybe the version # of Windows Live installed on your device. I also think it would be helpful to point out if you are using a Tilt or Tytn II so we can see if there are any differences between the devices.
I have been running AustinSync's BigStorage ROM on my Tilt with WL version 10.6.0032.2100 and so far have not run into any problems. As a matter of fact WL is running much better on the BigStorage ROM than it was on the HTC stock rom.
UPDATE
I had to open my big mouth didn't I. Just started having all kinds of connection issues with Windows Live (10.6.0032.2100). The only changes I made were installing TCPMP and the Flashbundle.cab to view youTube videos. Now I keep having to soft reset my Tilt in order to successfully send and receive email! When I open WL and check the Sync screen it is stuck on "Checking Internet connectivity". All other applications are getting internet connections no problem (including Live Search - the mapping program) This is a major issue for me, as I use WL for all of my email and contacts right now. Does anybody have any ideas on a fix for these connection inssues.
I am running a tilt with Kaiser AKU.0.7.0 Cooked ROM v.1.57.000.1.
according to the list I'm running Windows Live Mobile 10.6.31.2600.
What other info can I give?
I have tried both of the big storage rom's and had the same problems.
There is definitely an issue were WL can not detect the Kaiser's internet connection. I have been searching for answers all night, but no luck. I even tried the "GPRS Always On " Reg tweak from the sticky post, but it did not help.
This is a big problem for me, as I use Live for all of my contacts, email, and chat.
Has anyone found a workaround or fix??
Check to see if your proxy server is checked. It was a problem I had when I could not connect to the internet.

Known issue, not yet resolved - see
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332362
you can download the windows live application that is on most WM6 devices by default... at&t decided we dont need it apparently. this will allow you to do msn messenger (windows live messenger) over data instead of sms as well as working with windows live mail.
download file:

... be sure to right click and save as

Not to be a noob, but I am, so how do I install this?
I'm using the 8525 with WM6.
My main issue is getting Windows Live to run on WiFi, I'm assuming this will fix it. Any help would be great, thanks.
Title basically sums it up, I flashed a new rom over to my phone, and it didn't include Activesync. Since Google finally came out with a way to sync contacts and calendar events with Gmail, I really want it back.
And searching for this yielded no results, after all searching for "Activesync cab" here brought me to basically every thread.
So if anyone has activesync in cab from, that would be awesome.

Welcome to the forum
As far as I know
Activesync is not a .cab to install on your device!!!
Download here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=9e641c34-6f7f-404d-a04b-dc09f8141141
Install it on your computer with XP (If have Vista search for WindowsMobile Device center)
And then conec and syncronize woth your device
No, you misunderstand me. I flashed a new rom onto my phone. The rom did not include activesync. So I'm trying to get activesync again, without having to reflash with a different rom.
EDIT: Nevermind, it just didn't have a shortcut. The thread stated this, I just missed it while checking through the thread.
About 2 months ago i bought the htc tp2. Synchronizing my calender with outlook never worked. Tried al the tips @ tricks (even re-installed outlook). Today again tried to get this problem fixed... but with no succes.
When i start ActiveSync on my tp, synchronising starts, but after a few moments it stops, and i get the message 'waiting for the network'. The supportcode is 0x80072EFF.
Any ideas here? I would be delighted to get this working
Do you use Exchange with your Outlook?
If so, you may need to setup EAS (Exchange Active Sync) On your PHONE, go to the Programs - ActiveSync and choose (I think) Options - Add Server. Then put in the address to your Exchange server and you should be set.
Hope that helps.

In general we would need a little more information before giving you a real answer. A lot of folks here have found that one of the best ways to give some of that information every time is to set up a signature. You can go to the User CP (Control Panel, that is) link in the upper left corner. The sig link is there. Look at my signature as an example of a very simple format including the most used information. However, any format will do!
Moving on...
A Google search of "Vista WMDC error code 0x80072EFF" lead me to:
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/...ab-324c-4ea9-b779-481fd0db97cb/?prof=required
There are a number of suggestions on that page that seemed to work for a variety of people, including at least one link to the Microsoft KB.
Hope this helps!

I am a new convert to an HTC Hermes - very impressed with the forum and the help available. I have decided to stay with WM5 for the moment, but have flashed HardSPL. I have synced with Outlook using Activesync 4.5 with XP and everything looks good.
On Monday I installed Windows 7, on a separate hard drive, installed Office 2003 and then WMDC. I connected the Hermes, and drivers were automatically installed. Everything looks fine, with WMDC saying connected and a sync took place. But there the happy story ends....
WMDC says a sync has taken place, but the contents of my Hermes has not made it to Outlook. I have scoured this forum and the web, and it is clear that some people are very frustrated with WMDC, but other folks have no problems.
Can anyone point me at a guide or similar which can help me diagnose the problem?
I am considering installing XP Mode and running Activesync 4.5 from there and am happy to report back progress on that.
For those who may have been interested in this thread, I managed to crack the problem today. Took lots of Google searching, some of it looking for the correct question to ask . There are a lot of very upset people out there .
One bi-product of being able to sync was that I managed to move all my contact and calendar data from Outlook 2003 on XP to Outlook 2003 on Windows 7. Much better than playing with .pst files .
And? any references to how you did it?
Hi Bellandbottle,
Could you please enlighten us too, on how you solved the problem, or where to find the solution? That would be more helpful than just knowing you solved the problem!! TIA!
