Do anybody know how to sort SMS messages in folders? I did really like that function in WM6.0 It was very useful. It`s not in wm6.5 anymore.
So if there is any possibilities to make folders, please let me know!
I would also like to know that. I don't even know where those messages are kept^^.
grtz
it really is stupid to take away the manage sms folders... why remove whats not broken?

Any ideas how I can go about getting sub folders for my texts within the sent items and inbox? I know you can do it on the full versions of WM5 and 2003 but it's just not happening on the smartphone versions, surely this should be changable with a regedit or something (maybe wishful thinking)
Bump...
Anyway, I'm also puzzled as to why we can't add more sms folders when even in the manual of my dopod577w states that it is possible, though it does not give instructions on how to add or edit sms folders...
Hope someone's able to help...
Sorry... I'm being shameless.... but really desperate... tried searching everywhere but no answers....
Ditto.
I want to create subfolders for the SMS messages myself on C600. When I choose "manage folders" nothing happens, just the softkey "done" showed. It is said in the manual that it is possible for Exchange mail accounts, but why not for SMSs?
Has anyone found out how to do that already?
Shameless Bump...
I'm beginning to believe that what @K.K. mentioned abt nothing happening to the softkey, is actually a damn software bug on WM5 (for Smartphones)...
Really wish someone has an answer, cos the number of smses in my Inbox has reached abt 2000, and it's really "draining" to scroll using the damn joystick...
As a rule, I use neither SMS or MMS, but need to send Contact details by email frequently.
I note that people have previously asked how to change the Send as vCard behavior to use email accounts instead of MMS. But the questions are a little old now.
Does anyone have an answer yet, either for WM6.0 Smartphone or WM6.1 Touchscreen?
Thx.
*bump*
I sorely miss this feature. I was wondering if it could not be achieved by editing the registry. Anyone?
Has anyone found how to do this, I realise its an old question, but it would be handy to know?
Yes, this is not existing. Unbelievable !
I'm using a workaround for this.
1st/ start a send vcard (MMS)
2nd/ the card is stored in folder /temp. Filename seems always to be 'me.vcf'
3rd/ attach it to a normal email using whatever kind of file explorer !!
I'm open to any kind of better solution or workaround !
Hello.
Can anyone tell me a good SMS manager software?
One that I can select messages from someone and move into a specific folder?
Or one that I can "backup" or save SMS to a single readable file that I can store and read in a computer?
Thanks in advanced!
Take a look at MyPhone. Sounds like just what you need.
I really don't understand the concept behind MyPhone. I'd like a software that I could store (in my computer, not in web) my sms. In order to read them in the computer...
I suggest Jeyo.
Easy and fast, it does everything, you'll love it.
I want a WHITE contacts morph/theme. I havn't found a single contacts morph anywhere. Is it possible? I like the hero contact's look a lot more than android's. And no, I don't want an alternative contacts program they all suck. Thanks in advance!
ps I'd put this in the morph thread but things just get lost in there.
i guess not.
So is that possible? If yes, how?
Also contacts, they transfer with the sim card because I have saved all my contacts to my sim card?
I'm not sure its possible to do that, since there is not native way to back up and save your current WP7 text messages. I doubt there would be a way to transfer ones from anywhere.
However for contacts, since you have an Android phone you most likely have a Google account. Just sign in with your account on your WP7 device and it will all sync like magic.
Behold, the cloud.
WP7 doesn't have SMS backup? wow... Well, that sucks, I really don't want to lose all my messages, some of them are really important and bring back good memories...

You must be really attached to those texts. You know all the naughty pics you can just send back to yourself.
No nothing like that XD there's just some messages that I really want to keep... Even though I usually don't read my old messages I just want to keep them as memories
Yes,
it's been a while, but the subject's still up-to-date.
Same thing here. I'd just like to move from Windows Mobile 6.5.
From Exchange 2010 it's possible to sync text messages between the phone and the server. But it appears that goes only for messages which arrive AFTER the sync setup. I haven't found a way to make the phone upload older texts to the server.
Also I don't think a new phone would download all past text messages from the server after pairing.
There's poll to make Microsoft implement a way: http://wpdev.uservoice.com/forums/110705-app-platform/suggestions/1901813-sms-backup?ref=title
That's the only thing preventing me to move to WP7. Most awesome would be if PIMbackup would provide a way. I've asked the programer via mail if he saw a way, but I haven't gotten any response.
If I had no other choice I would forward those SMS messages to my self some how either through email or someother method. Just an idea.
Basically a nice idea. Unfortunately sender numbers and timestamps would be lost :-(
With multiple hundred messages that's important data for me.
But thanks for the idea!
