Hello.
Can anyone tell me a good SMS manager software?
One that I can select messages from someone and move into a specific folder?
Or one that I can "backup" or save SMS to a single readable file that I can store and read in a computer?
Thanks in advanced!
Take a look at MyPhone. Sounds like just what you need.
I really don't understand the concept behind MyPhone. I'd like a software that I could store (in my computer, not in web) my sms. In order to read them in the computer...
I suggest Jeyo.
Easy and fast, it does everything, you'll love it.

As a rule, I use neither SMS or MMS, but need to send Contact details by email frequently.
I note that people have previously asked how to change the Send as vCard behavior to use email accounts instead of MMS. But the questions are a little old now.
Does anyone have an answer yet, either for WM6.0 Smartphone or WM6.1 Touchscreen?
Thx.
*bump*
I sorely miss this feature. I was wondering if it could not be achieved by editing the registry. Anyone?
Has anyone found how to do this, I realise its an old question, but it would be handy to know?
Yes, this is not existing. Unbelievable !
I'm using a workaround for this.
1st/ start a send vcard (MMS)
2nd/ the card is stored in folder /temp. Filename seems always to be 'me.vcf'
3rd/ attach it to a normal email using whatever kind of file explorer !!
I'm open to any kind of better solution or workaround !
I have a few important SMSes I wish to export to a text file or a word document. Does anyone know how to do this? I cannot seem to copy/paste with the SMS/MMS application found on the 6.1 WM ROM. I'm using the uDK custom ROM. I think the build is July 3, 2008 if I am not mistaken.
Thanks a lot for your help.
some sms backup programs are mentioned in this thread

If you know how to use google, you'll find the program you are looking for in about 2 Minutes.
If not, follow this link to download ;-)

I know, it's a trial. But it should be just good enough to do a simple export.

Haha...thanks. Forgot to mention that I didn't want to install additional software if possible. Dumb WinMo. Should have copy and paste for SMS. Ah well. Third party apps will have to do. Cheers.
"Should have copy and paste for SMS. Ah well"
you dont have copy paste for sms?
You should have copy paste. Just hold down on the text area in the SMS, choose Select All from the context menu, Then hold down on the highlighted area and choose copy, then paste it anywhere else, like in notes or something. Then you can sync notes into your outlook or copy the word file or whatever you need to do. If you do not have copy/paste in SMS then perhaps it's a bug on the UDK ROM you're using.

Yeah, I've tried it a few times...even reseted my device. No copy/paste available. It's greyed out when I tap and hold. Guess I'll have to transfer by typing it manually. What a pain in the arse. Maybe it is a bug in uDK. I'll post it on the uDK forum. Thanks for your help.
Honestly, I don't see a reason why you shouldn't install that export program for some minutes
just to export your SMS.
If you like typing sms ... just do so. I'd never act like that.
I haven't been using this but there's an addition for the regular Microsoft Outlooks, a recent release, which exports the messages when you're Synced with Async to a seperate folder in outlook so that you can read it there. you can also export it straight to Personal Folders. I know there's an old app which does that but it doesn't work well on WM6/WM6.1
... if i find it i'll let you know.

Do you mean "Jeyo Mobile Extender" ??
SMS Backup/ Restore
Whenever I change ROMs (even different language sets) I use PIMBackup from dotfred
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705
or here
http://www.dotfred.net/
This IMO ist the most versatile/ powerful tool to save your personal data including sms (MMS does not work yet). It also offers textformat. check it out.
Many ROMchefs already include this to their ROMs ... its free
Hello!
Is it possible to convert your sms from a winmo to a android phone?
If so, can you give an instruction guide??
In advance
Thanks!!
please any answer?
I think you have to repeat your question because i for one didn't understand what you said.
You want to convert the SMS? Or do you want to transfer the SMS across?
i want to transfer the sms across
Unfortunately, it won't be possible, WinMo uses a PIM file to store contats, tasks and texts and such. Abdroid uses a different format.
Sprite can help you out, check their website.
just an idea but you could attach a sample export of SMS from both devices, then offer a reward for someone to write a simple utility to change the data format for you..
Thanks Guanodude, I will try Spritemigrate
just use googlesync lol

Hi guys ... I have a really silly question .. I have an old Blackberry Curve 8700 which has some very important SMSs in it .. I would like to copy over all the SMS from this Blackberry Curve 8700 into my new HTC Desire Z ... Problem is I dont see any tool for the Blackberry which allows me to export SMS messages .. So my only option is to maybe somehow open up the SMS Database for my Android phone is some editor, and manually plant the SMSs from my blackberry by manually typing them in, and also setting the correct times as to when I received them, or when I sent them out .. There are only like 10-15 messages so I don't mind manually typing them in if I have to, but because they are so important, I have to somehow copy them over ..
Any suggestions ? Is there any tool available for the Androids which allows you to dissect and operate on the SMS database in an Android phone at low level ?
Any other suggestions are welcome too ...
What exactly is a "very important SMS" and why couldn't you simply just record the information in a text file or write it down somewhere? Email it to yourself? Why does it need to be loaded into the SMS database of another device? Why must it remain an SMS?
I hope that's not prying, but I just can't seem to understand why it would need to be kept in "sms format"

Its actually a business related thing .. I have talks with clients and its very important you have a complete chronological record of all discussions in your phone .. So I would really prefer to copy them over if I can as this would make my life a lot easier later when referring to these conversations ..
By SQlite you can edit a sqlite file and put it back into
take pictures with your new phone of all the SMSes.
Use SMS Faker. It let's you put fake text messages on your phone at any time. To and from.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
So is that possible? If yes, how?
Also contacts, they transfer with the sim card because I have saved all my contacts to my sim card?
I'm not sure its possible to do that, since there is not native way to back up and save your current WP7 text messages. I doubt there would be a way to transfer ones from anywhere.
However for contacts, since you have an Android phone you most likely have a Google account. Just sign in with your account on your WP7 device and it will all sync like magic.
Behold, the cloud.
WP7 doesn't have SMS backup? wow... Well, that sucks, I really don't want to lose all my messages, some of them are really important and bring back good memories...

You must be really attached to those texts. You know all the naughty pics you can just send back to yourself.
No nothing like that XD there's just some messages that I really want to keep... Even though I usually don't read my old messages I just want to keep them as memories
Yes,
it's been a while, but the subject's still up-to-date.
Same thing here. I'd just like to move from Windows Mobile 6.5.
From Exchange 2010 it's possible to sync text messages between the phone and the server. But it appears that goes only for messages which arrive AFTER the sync setup. I haven't found a way to make the phone upload older texts to the server.
Also I don't think a new phone would download all past text messages from the server after pairing.
There's poll to make Microsoft implement a way: http://wpdev.uservoice.com/forums/110705-app-platform/suggestions/1901813-sms-backup?ref=title
That's the only thing preventing me to move to WP7. Most awesome would be if PIMbackup would provide a way. I've asked the programer via mail if he saw a way, but I haven't gotten any response.
If I had no other choice I would forward those SMS messages to my self some how either through email or someother method. Just an idea.
Basically a nice idea. Unfortunately sender numbers and timestamps would be lost :-(
With multiple hundred messages that's important data for me.
But thanks for the idea!
