From UK, just updated touch pro 2 to 6.5
HATE the new start menu and settings.
Worked out how to re-order items on main screen
into required order but unable to find suitable utility
or instructions for:-
1) re-order start menu in order I wish (6.1 menu would be GREAT)
2) find where items on settings menu are stored, so I can re-arrange
delete and add
Any help please on either as spent two many hours registry editing - but
at least found a few other useful things!
if anybody figures out how to get the old style startmenu in 6.5 plz pm me
You can use QuickMenu, for how to customize it on wm65, reference here:

Can anyone please help -?
I want to move the SPB today menu below the HTC today screen?
I’ve tried moving it in the today settings menu but the option to move down is not available- nor am I able to move the HTC screen up?
am I just missing something simple? Any advise please……
Another tweak if you don't want to use HTC Home customizer just to move the HTC Home up or down in your today items. A simple regedit will do the trick and it will be unpinned. You can then make it appear inside any SpB programs.
Before changing the reg value you should unselect Home plugin as a Today item, and then select it again after editing registry.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Home
and change the value of "Type" from 5 to 4. And that's it.
The plugin can be moved to any place in Today.
I found this after a search in about 60 seconds
hey, thanks for your help! managed to sort it by editing registry
HI
When one clicks the Start Menu/button in TF3D, a page with programs will open up instead of the WM start menu drop down.
My question is how does one assign one of the buttons to point to open a folder (eg Games Folder) instead of a program?
Thanks for reading and your help

Thanks
Exactly what I was looking for. All is done manually but it didn't take so much time.
Thanks for your help.....
Will try it out....
Another thing - anyway to turn off the TF3D start menu and reactivate the standard WM dropdown start menu?
Thanks
I am not sure to understand exactly what you want.
If you want to unload tf3d please go in setup => personal => today => then in element unselect TouchFlo3D.
My Rom is in french so I am not sure about the translation. I attached some screenshot : it will be easier
he does not want to disable touchflo3d, when he goes to the touchflo3d startmenu he wants to assign one of the buttons there to open a map(out of the box you can only open programs in the start menu of touchflo3d))

It's easy
- Open your registry editor;
- HKLM - Software - HTC - EnlargeMenu - EnableManilaStartMenu (Change "1" to "0")
- Soft reset...
That's it No need to install any .cab or smthing...
Yes, it will be great if we can have both where Start menu still can be active w/ drop menu and the Windows key button still can be a short cut to program short cut menu.
Anyway to get both of this together since the Diamond2 tf3d menu does not have Program SHORT CUT menu but using the windows start function.
Is there any way to keep the WIndows button as the Program shortcut key & the WIndows Start menu as Drop-down menu.
If I change the value from 1 to 0, the program shortcut function under window button does not work anymore/
Pls help
I've searched all over xda-developers but apologies if this is already answered.
How do you change (ie. delete some and add others) the default settings that show up in the Touch Flo 3D's Settings tab?
I don't understand why on earth HTC put things like "My Contact Card", "Mail Setup", Customize Tabs", etc on this otherwise handy tab and don't allow customisation. What's the point of having shortcuts to something you usually do once when setting the phone up versus items you re-visit regularly being forced into "All Settings".
touchflow settings tab
you can change the settings by installing this cab. it will speed up you touch and give you an option to change the order or remove items off the tabs. worth doing just for the speed alone.

Hi and thanks for that.
Appreciate the suggestion, but I'm not interested in all those other changes in that cab solution. I run TouchFlo 3D on the new Touch Pro2 and it is lightning fast and very responsive. The other Diamond fixes are also not relevant.
So it's encouraging that someone has worked out how to do it, but I'd like just the registry tweaks to modify the Settings tab, not a cab that does heaps of tweaks. I've searched through this cab but can't decipher the ones I'm after.
Anyone know where the tweaks for Settings tab alone might be?
Thanks.

I read saved html pages eg news etc all the time on my mobile device using Pocket Internet Explorer a one-column layout. it is great way to simply scroll through and read text of a web page.
I just upgraded WM 6.1 to 6.5 to discover PIE one-column is gone.
i don't care about zooming in out of pages, images or functionality of webpage etc.
Is there a registry hack or something else that can get me a one-column layout in PIE?
Thanks!
HTC TD2
WM 6.5 build 21869.5.0.82
Try using the registry to set the following key:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Internet Explorer]
"MSHTML"=dword:0
That should switch you over to the IE5 rendercore, which should offer you the 1 column layout view.
THanks - i have one column view again
That registry edit did the job! I like the features in the IE5 rendercore! Thanks
Btw, I used PHM RegEdit to do those edits, and PHM RegEdit is not happy in WM 6.5
- I have to hold registry keys for long time to select them and the + - to expand/collapse keys aren't working properly. I have to hold, then i have to tap the menu bar on bottom to get them to expand/collapse. Really weird.
- input keyboard also needs to be held long time to popup. Very strange.
I noticed similar issues in WM 6.5 with Advanced Configuration Tool by Julien Schapman.
I wonder if these are .NET issues or something like that?
Also, the new TouchFlow finger swipe direction is reversed from before. In Email and PIE you have to swipe finger down to make page scroll up. Before you swiped finger up to make page scroll up! its different and is taking some getting used to.
Hi,
I've been using my HTC Touch2 for a while now.
I decided to turn of the TouchFLO homescreen as it seems to use a lot of my free memory. I use a customized (used Home Screen Customizer - free from the marketplace) , default WM6.5 home screen now. It makes it faster ^^
The indicator raised from 45% to 70% in a day with all apps closed...
But TouchFLO also had a nice additional feature - all 'dropdown menu's ' or whatever you'd call it on a phone became way more touch friendly. (Those that open when holding your finger in file explorer for example, or when you click file in pocket word)
Is there a way to enable these menu's without enabling touchFLO?
I also prefer the HTC settings panels, that were only accessible from the TouchFLO home screen. I already found the sound settings (htcsoundsettings.exe) but I wonder if anyone knows more .exe files - for selecting backgrounds etc. Or a list of all files in the windows folder by default - it takes ages to load, when sorting is accidently set to 'File type' it takes like 15 minutes sometimes...
Also I'd like to add links to the settings menu of the start menu but so far I've only been able to add icons to the start menu or other subfolders and not the settings one
Thanks in advance,
JSO
Have you tried M2DCustomizer? If you mean saving up battery u might wana try custom roms
No, thank you for the link I'm sure it will help me.
But it didn't really help me out with my question - can I keep just the dropdown menu's without anabling TouchFLO/Manila2D from the Home Screen settings...

Hello, having read your message hope I understand well. You want a combination of features but foremost a lot of free Ram. Touch flow takes if I am correct 8-12Mb which your device should be able to handle.
This tweak will help you with Ram consumption aswell as regular soft reset or Ram cleaner.....several available on XDA.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\ResProxy\ShareMemS ize=0 (Increase free memory)
I agree with member Deepak that choosing a custom Rom offers best of both worlds. But also here you have to make the choice Touch flow or not.....having only parts is not possible (unless built in Rom).
Thanks all for your effort, but I think I finally found something:
/showthread.php?t=540922 (can't post link because my account is not approved )
This allows me to disable touchFLO while still using the nice menu's; downloading right now
Yeah, used this on my previous Rom (WM 6.1) aswell. Was not happy with the result since it did not work flawless.....dissappear after soft reset, not working with some programs etc.
But see if it works for you. Success.
