Im new to the whole pocket pc thing lol , i am looking to get rid of wm 5 off my device , looking to upgrade ti wn 6 or 6.5, I have read the guide on how to do it everything seemed to be going well until i downloaded a rom from another site and it bricked the phone lol, so i managed to re flash it with buttons . 1.05rom, Well im looking for some advice on where i could possibly get the correct and most recent rom that will not brick it , using xp computer with active sync,
device is startin up with,
ipl 1.01
spl 1.01.
gsm 1.12.10.0
os 1.5.4.2

try looking at the CR96 or the X2H threads for a good working version of both 6.1 and 6.5 OS. I have used both with no problems.

please help me with my wizard
i got wizard 8125 from my friend. at the same time i had samsung blackjack2. i found this site that helped me to flash the BJ2 from WM5 to WM6, without any problems. but now im trying to take care of Wizard, and the whole process of flashing crashes,and i get screen with 3 colors(RGB) and my Windows Vista gives me a report that updating software has stopped working. can any one help me???? please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well the basics of flashing are read! read ! read !
full charge on the battery
the tri color screen is the boot screen
use xp its way better and few glitches
find the rom
make sure if you have a G3 or G4 wizard
G3 IPL / SPL are 2.xx format (eg.. 2.26 2.21 3.08)
G4 IPL / SPL are 2.xx.xxx format
to flash a rom you must be unlocked read about the methods
for each wizard the G3 and G4
and happy flashing
I am having trouble installing Windows Mobile 6.5 on a HTC Touch HD. I have extrected all the files to a folder and then I have connected my Touch To the computer and have activated activesync. I have then opened up the PDA Phone Rom Update Utility and followed the instructions. The HTC Touch HD gets stuck on 0% and the PDA Phone Rom Update Utility displays an error 262-the update utility has encounterd Communication problems with the device. how can i resolve this problem?
Which Operating system are you using on your PC?
When on XP what ActiveSync version?
Did you hard-SPL the HD?
and, did you make sure your device is actually detected and installed on your PC properly?
Hey, I have encountered the same problem when I was trying to downgrade my HD from WM 6.5 to 6.1. You may try to upgrade your SPL to 1.56, then cook the ROM to your phone again. At least that how I cooked my HD first time.

Is there any trick to upgrade a blackstone to WM 6.5 used by Touch HD2, i mean, the rom from htc site for touch hd2.

Hey there,
Please do not try and flash an HD2 rom to your HD, or you will end up bricking your device.
If you want 6.5 on your HD, head over to the blackstone forum, Hardspl and choose the rom of your choice.
Make sure you understand the instructions for hardpsl and flashing (it isnt that difficult really).
If all goes wrong, put your phone into bootloader and flash back the official HD rom.

i have a htc touch hd mobile with 6.1 windows with spl 1.54.0000 .....i want to upgrade it to 6.5 windows but i am new in this so i want someone's help.... i have seen some stuff in your site but i have difficulties in the start....my htc does not even connect to the pc.... when i enter the bootloader mode it doesn't tell me usb on the bottom.... and anyway the drivers and the other stuff where should i extract them??? to my memory card??? plzz someone help.... in simple steps.... from the start plzz..... as you understand i am really new in this and i really want to do upgrade my mobile.... i would really appriciate your help....

Hey, if you want to flash wm6.5 then just download a stock rom from either Htc or from this site and away you go. lol

A piece of advice when posting and especially as you are wanting to flash your device...... You need to read a whole heap first and understand what you are doing..... if you do not you will end up bricking ur device and end up a shiny paperweight....
Suggest you read the wiki page and as pilot says the relevant section on xda, and please dont flash if u dont understand the process because we will only see you in here asking for more help on how to unbrick yes?

If you arent prepared to read then you shouldnt flash ..
ps before my first flash i read for hours and days, making sure i understood what was happening, why it was and what to do if it went wrong. My first flash on my prophet didnt go right, but i knew after reading more why and how to correct it.

as long as your confidant to do so. what i would aslo recomend to do is also download an official rom or a 6.1 rom so if you dont like the 6.5 then u can go to a stable rom

THe universal is an old device and hence you wont get official 6.5 rom or even a 6.1 come to that lol. If you read the wiki page above like a said before you will find a link to all official roms
so 6.1 or 6.5 will not come to my device
it means i have to use this 5.0 version only ?
lol HTC wont bring out an official 6.1 or 6.5 rom for that device, its too old and they want people to buy new devices, hence why XDA is great!!!
You only need the official 5.0 if something goes wrong, my mate had the same device and used a m2d rom which was very nice, so flash away!!

Download and keep safe an offical 5.0 rom, dont use it unless flashing to cooked 6.1 goes wrong.
There are many good 6.1 roms in the forum, so go ahead and try some when you understand what you are doing
so i dont want to try it if it is not clear that 6.1 is supported ot not
i will only do if u r 100% sure that it is supported
take a look in the universal section, you'll find many 6.1 roms there my friend

I can recommend you Tomal wm 6.1 8.5 or 8.1 ROM´s
Actually wm6.5 ROM´s are in beta and are not so stable, and if its your first time flashing go for 6.1

Hi everybody,
i've got some Problems with upgrading my HTC prophet (G4).
First I installed a ROM with WM 6.5 from Miri.
It works great but now I found a german Version of WM 6.5 (Build 23060).
So I downloaded all files for upgrading (Look Here) and tried to install the files to my HTC.
Everything works fine until it loads the boot screen.
The boot screen is loading (looks like 3 colors or so) and the setup hangs up and I got an error.
What can I do now?
Here are my device informations:
ROM 20.5.61.52 WWE
ROM Date 07.02.09
Radio 02.69.21
Protocol 4.1.13.30
WM 6.5 Prof. Build 21501.1.6.2

i think the rom you uped is for the HTC Herald and not for the Prophet / Neo. In this case you have to downgrade the Neo. I use the Green Clean 2.1 from Animelover.

To be honest, the only real true Stock roms are WM5 roms. WM6.x never made it to the Universal officially.

i know the Artemis as a WM6 stock rom with a little RMA differnece.
but i like to uni to work... so i ant gonan try flashing it =]

The closest thing to a stock rom on here now is thingonaspring's 1.2 rom on WM6.1. no video call of course but its very very good. Loads of ram left over. WM6.5 is a bit of a non starter for the 64mb machine as it eats to much ram.

but my latest plan is it ge my HTC Alphine (XDA lli) to run WIndows Mobile 6.1
