Help Required

I am noob in windows mobile I have just switched from nokia n73 to HTC S710. Some people think it was not a good idea but anyhow. 4 days back I tried to upgrade my cousins gene but after applying HSPL it was dead. I asked a lot of people in gene subform how recover, in the end a Rom chef told me if I had bought phone this year then there is no solution to it. So finally I had to take it to HTC service centre and they have asked me to check after 5 days.
Now I have bought Vox myself so learning from past experience I am asking you guys first. I have read wikki though.
1) Which is the fastest but most stable rom? (Which does not have bugs)
NEO ROM for Vox v0.9 [New XIP 20202]
Windows Mobile 6.1 v1.1
Or Hikey's Rom tell me the version.
or someother.
2) From my information given Which USPL should I use 1.16 or 1.34 or 1.35 and also can I use them or will they brick my phone?

First you should decide whether you want WinMo 6.0 or 6.1. As far as I heard the ROMs with the new XIPs are faster. I would say the Neo ROMs are the fastest 6.0 ROMs. For 6.1 there isn't such a huge difference But my experience is that the 96 dpi ROMs are pretty fast, but they are by far not bug free. Otherwise you have to decide what software you need. Gonzo's ROM has everything in it, my Lite ROM is pretty much the same, just without some apps.
In the Wiki is a list of hopefully most ROMs.
For USPL the 1.16 is definately working, as it did for over a year now. I don't know if the newer ones have any advantages or not. If you go to the wiki and follow the guides carefully you should not brick your phone. Link is in my signature.

My SPL is 1.34.000 as I have seen from my bootloader information. So can I use 1.16.
Is Neo Rom .9 bug free, have you tried it also I have read few threads people saying Hikey's WM6.1 roms are stable but does not have his thread here. From my information given is stock rom for my current os available somewhere.

It is on the XDA-dev ftp. There are a couple of shipped ROMs.

Well not all speak chinese I am on WM 6.1 v1.0 by LeFab47 alias fireburned with new xip 20202. So far it is the best for me. I hope he gives a version without thirdpart applications.

If you would like to keep this thread i would consider making it a ME Touch Rom thread/discussion. As the rom itself has been documented and save
So not that new a rom but there should be two separate Official versions of these Roms both for the Elf as Elfin, At least the do exist for T-Mobile.
So unless it's dumped without SPL and IPL it wouldn't be adviced to flash this to incorrect device.

I have already made my own ROM with BIG storage and 4mb pagepool (for Elf) and 8mb pagepool (for Elf AND Elfin) based on this Rom's core and is posted here:

hey my friend,
A piece of advice when posting and especially as you are wanting to flash your device...... You need to read a whole heap first and understand what you are doing..... if you do not you will end up bricking ur device and end up a shiny paperweight....
Suggest you read the wiki page and as pilot says the relevant section on xda, and please dont flash if u dont understand the process because we will only see you in here asking for more help on how to unbrick yes?

If you arent prepared to read then you shouldnt flash ..
ps before my first flash i read for hours and days, making sure i understood what was happening, why it was and what to do if it went wrong. My first flash on my prophet didnt go right, but i knew after reading more why and how to correct it.

as long as your confidant to do so. what i would aslo recomend to do is also download an official rom or a 6.1 rom so if you dont like the 6.5 then u can go to a stable rom

THe universal is an old device and hence you wont get official 6.5 rom or even a 6.1 come to that lol. If you read the wiki page above like a said before you will find a link to all official roms

so 6.1 or 6.5 will not come to my device
it means i have to use this 5.0 version only ?

lol HTC wont bring out an official 6.1 or 6.5 rom for that device, its too old and they want people to buy new devices, hence why XDA is great!!!
You only need the official 5.0 if something goes wrong, my mate had the same device and used a m2d rom which was very nice, so flash away!!

Download and keep safe an offical 5.0 rom, dont use it unless flashing to cooked 6.1 goes wrong.
There are many good 6.1 roms in the forum, so go ahead and try some when you understand what you are doing

so i dont want to try it if it is not clear that 6.1 is supported ot not
i will only do if u r 100% sure that it is supported

take a look in the universal section, you'll find many 6.1 roms there my friend

I can recommend you Tomal wm 6.1 8.5 or 8.1 ROM´s
Actually wm6.5 ROM´s are in beta and are not so stable, and if its your first time flashing go for 6.1

Im new to the whole pocket pc thing lol , i am looking to get rid of wm 5 off my device , looking to upgrade ti wn 6 or 6.5, I have read the guide on how to do it everything seemed to be going well until i downloaded a rom from another site and it bricked the phone lol, so i managed to re flash it with buttons . 1.05rom, Well im looking for some advice on where i could possibly get the correct and most recent rom that will not brick it , using xp computer with active sync,

try looking at the CR96 or the X2H threads for a good working version of both 6.1 and 6.5 OS. I have used both with no problems.

Noob question

Hi first time poster.
I am the proud owner of a HTC touch pro 2.
Ive been reading on this site about the different roms eg Manila but goodness im so confused, im not really that tech pro. In my settings screen it says "TouchFlo 3D 2.1.38158.2", after some reading on this site it seems to me thats the manila version. is that right? if so how do i upgrade it so i can use the custom themes and skins.
Also i have windows 6.1 on my device atm. should/can i flash it? If so what is the recommended rom to put on (if thats the right way to put it)

You can upgrade to wm6.5 if you want.
I can recommend Energy ROM´s
Leo= Manila 2.5 (slower for Rhodium)
Phoenix2= Manila 2.1 (better for Rhodium)

I just flashed my fone with hardspl but have yet to install a rom.
should i (do i have to) update my wm6.1 to wm6.5 to use the Energyroms?
i guess another way to put that question is, is it worth installing roms on my 6.1 or is it just simply better and wiser to upgrade to 6.5 and then flash a rom?

Don´t be afraid, if you follow instructions all should be ok
And if you don´t like 6.5 you can always move it back easy!

I cant seem to locat.e an upgrade rom for my fone and ive searched these and other forums like crazy, ive googled everything, been on the HTC website i just cant seem to locate it.
