Windows Mobile 5
Windows Mobile 6
Windows Mobile 6.1
Windows Mobile 6.5.x
i would much appreciate these stock roms (you can find them/get them)

just checked the wiki, and the download link for WM5 form teh 02 website is broken (as its propably out dataed =])

To be honest, the only real true Stock roms are WM5 roms. WM6.x never made it to the Universal officially.

i know the Artemis as a WM6 stock rom with a little RMA differnece.
but i like to uni to work... so i ant gonan try flashing it =]

The closest thing to a stock rom on here now is thingonaspring's 1.2 rom on WM6.1. no video call of course but its very very good. Loads of ram left over. WM6.5 is a bit of a non starter for the 64mb machine as it eats to much ram.

atm i'm running:
Tomal's V10 64bt.. and its ok.. but i have to install every program to the SD card to keep it running quick,
but my latest plan is it ge my HTC Alphine (XDA lli) to run WIndows Mobile 6.1

I think I've downloaded and tried all of the ROMs here, but I think some of them just made it worst! I tried the new release of the ROM (forgot its name), such big fonts and errors, no threaded SMS, no splashscreens. Some ROMs just too slow, some are fast, some requires too many applications, some just take too much memory.
So, where can I download the original Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard? I really want a ROM that doesn't have any pre-installed programs.

There is no original WM6.x ROM for the Tornado. All WM6.x ROMs are custom made and they usually meet the needs of their cook.
If you need something original, install WM5 - if you need a clean WM6.1 ROM, install the one rafyvitto mentioned above. But you must know that a "clean" version does not nessessarily mean more free internal storage.
Hi there im new to the uni, had it about a month now, mainly for for phone and tomtom 7. It has a rom released by luca16. wm 6.1 dated back in `08. Also has radio rom 1.09.0. I was hoping to flash my uni with the latest luca 1.50 rom and a new radio rom but am unsure what to do. I need a rom which will support sdhc and have at least 20mb of ram left after lol. Will the luca touchfull rom be okay you recon? What radio should i go for? And last but not least , im running windows 7 7100, and have XP Sp3 running in virtualbox, can i flash using my xp install??

And I would recommend Tomal 8.5 or 8.81 ROM´s wich are stable nice and great battery life!

hi so i would recommend u to use lite or vanilla rom if you don"t use other features so much as it has more free memory to work with... well tomal's 8.81 gives u around 23mb at soft reset....
and well about windows 7 i'm also using windows 7(7000) in my laptop and vista in another one... So i'll go ahead and try to flash from windows 7 and will let you know shortly about the finding....

A piece of advice when posting and especially as you are wanting to flash your device...... You need to read a whole heap first and understand what you are doing..... if you do not you will end up bricking ur device and end up a shiny paperweight....
Suggest you read the wiki page and as pilot says the relevant section on xda, and please dont flash if u dont understand the process because we will only see you in here asking for more help on how to unbrick yes?

If you arent prepared to read then you shouldnt flash ..
ps before my first flash i read for hours and days, making sure i understood what was happening, why it was and what to do if it went wrong. My first flash on my prophet didnt go right, but i knew after reading more why and how to correct it.

as long as your confidant to do so. what i would aslo recomend to do is also download an official rom or a 6.1 rom so if you dont like the 6.5 then u can go to a stable rom

THe universal is an old device and hence you wont get official 6.5 rom or even a 6.1 come to that lol. If you read the wiki page above like a said before you will find a link to all official roms
so 6.1 or 6.5 will not come to my device
it means i have to use this 5.0 version only ?
lol HTC wont bring out an official 6.1 or 6.5 rom for that device, its too old and they want people to buy new devices, hence why XDA is great!!!
You only need the official 5.0 if something goes wrong, my mate had the same device and used a m2d rom which was very nice, so flash away!!

Download and keep safe an offical 5.0 rom, dont use it unless flashing to cooked 6.1 goes wrong.
There are many good 6.1 roms in the forum, so go ahead and try some when you understand what you are doing
so i dont want to try it if it is not clear that 6.1 is supported ot not
i will only do if u r 100% sure that it is supported
take a look in the universal section, you'll find many 6.1 roms there my friend

I can recommend you Tomal wm 6.1 8.5 or 8.1 ROM´s
Actually wm6.5 ROM´s are in beta and are not so stable, and if its your first time flashing go for 6.1

I have for 30min ago flashed windows mobile 6.5 to my Polaris. But it isnt the original it haves the terrible manilla 2d interface.
So i used the Web to search for the original for Polaris.
But i didnt found it.
Can someone help me pls pls ??

You hadn't search a lot. You can switch manilla 2D to default windows 6.5 home in pcarvalho rom for example.
Which rom have you install. Give us pore details if you want help.

it's been a while, but not many WM6.5 roms around? I see only pcarvalho and pdaviet in the forum
but there's no way to search "WM6.5" as it returns nothing.
before there were many Wm6.1 roms...
You need only to read THIS page, is full of WM6.5 roms...

and the sticky that was there for WM6.1 etc now gone...
tried pcarvalho eXtreme but it seems very slow, is this due to WM6.5 itself? should I stick to official WM6.1?

Im new to the whole pocket pc thing lol , i am looking to get rid of wm 5 off my device , looking to upgrade ti wn 6 or 6.5, I have read the guide on how to do it everything seemed to be going well until i downloaded a rom from another site and it bricked the phone lol, so i managed to re flash it with buttons . 1.05rom, Well im looking for some advice on where i could possibly get the correct and most recent rom that will not brick it , using xp computer with active sync,
device is startin up with,
ipl 1.01
spl 1.01.
gsm 1.12.10.0
os 1.5.4.2

try looking at the CR96 or the X2H threads for a good working version of both 6.1 and 6.5 OS. I have used both with no problems.
