Cant upgrade to WM6?

I download all the crossbow roms and they load fine but when i actually install them its just looks like WM6.
Both SPL and the other one are 2.26 any ideas ?
Did you flash to a carrier ROM? Always flash to a carrier ROM before flashing a custom ROM.
ok giving that a try with the RUU offical tmobile rom
doesnt look like that worked either
Exactly which ROMs are you trying to install? Are you certain the ROMs are custom WM5 ROMs? You are in the WM6 forum, so I expect any ROMs you get from here will be WM6 ROMs.
ive done just about all of them is there any other reason I cant get this to work ?
ive been at it for like 5 hours and its pisssssing me off (sorry).
You guys helped me unlock the phone now i just gotta get WM6.
thanks for the help so far!

So, it looks like WM6? That means you have WM6.
Of course, you've read and followed all of the instructions on how to unlock and flash a custom ROM, right?
does anyone have a mirror for the love rom? im going to start it from scratch
so im pretty sure ive screwed myself pretty good now im using the shell tool to flash the rom and it looked like it was working then it told me to hard reset my phone so i poped the battery out because nothing else was working now it wont boot paste the tmobile screen. Also the software tells me to hold down voice + wireless manager and then the reset button and wait for instructions but i never receive anything at all.
Can you guys please help me asap i need to at least get the phone working for tomorrow morning
- Eddy
well it looks like ive bricked the device because it cant boot to even WM5 its just stuck on the tmobile screen and therefore cant connect to activesync so i cant even flash it back to a working rom.
Any help would be so great at this point because im DOOMED without this phone ... i mean it even wakes me up in the morning hahaha
kind regards,
- Eddy
u have to put it into bootloader mode by pressing and holding the camera button and quickly pressing the reset button until the red, green, and blue screen appears. Then you should be able to flash back to an original rom
ok so i started all over again super cid unlocked many times and started with the base 2.26 and now i cant even get the WM6 roms on the phone they all freeze at 99% (vs loading the rom with the old wm5 look).
any ideas guys?
have you tried using shelltool? I've used it numerous times on my locked g4 without problems

Reverting to official RUU with HardSPL

I have been searching all over for this but it's probaly right in front of my face. I read that you need to get rid of SPL.nbh from official ROMS before flashing back with HardSPL. The problem is, the official T-Mobile Wing ROM that I downloaded is an .exe file. How do I go about removing the SPL.nbh file since it doesn't display folder contents or anything, just runs the RUU?
Sorry for the double post, I realized I was in the wrong forum

I'm uploading a zip file which will have the entire thing already to go.
Just flash your device as you would with any other rom.
Hang tight the link will be available within 10 mins.

Remove HARD-SPL On The Wing
This is the same tool used to flash your device when it was not HARD-SPL.
I replaced the RUU_Signed file and SPL.nh file already.
It will bring your wing back to the stanard rom as when you first got it.
One more question. I'm looking to keep HardSPL but I have to revert to original to upgrade ROMS don't I? I want to upgrade to your OT 6.5 ROM

Okay,
I thought you wanted to go back to the original T-Mobile rom.
If your trying to HARD-SPL your device to install one of my roms or another cooks roms then thats another story.
Please read my FAQ or one of the stickies.
Ok, I think I got it now. So I don't need to revert to the original ROM to flash it since I have HardSPL? Thanks for the help
wen i did this i think i bricked my fone now its at the tmobile screen and it jus staying there
I tried the file that you uploaded here...And it went thru the whole process of flashing the ROM, but after it updated my wing just stays on the T-Mobiel screen and never boots past that.
It had that open touch software on it and I don't want open touch. I want plan old WM 6.0 on there.
I called T-Mobile and got an offical 6.0 update from them, but when I try that one it gets to 1% then says it has a disconneted and I get a connection error.

So does this work? The two people who did this had problems. I need the phone to be all stock so I can have t-mobile send a free replacement because the screen is going on this wing.
***EDIT:*** Oka so this is the same as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364543&page=2 the first time I tried it it froze at 15% on step 2 so I installed the RAPI CAB like it says. Step two completed, phone rebooted and had white screen then I got error 260 I think. I have the stock t-mobile rom on it and had it on before I did this but it still has the yang from when I did a hard spl. Is there another way to get it to stock or am I doing something wrong? Plug in phone, let it sync, run herald-uspl.exe hit enter and so forth.
***EDIT*** Ok so this time it completed but is now stuck at the T-Mobile screen and I am now unable to even flash because I can't get past it And that damn yang still shows up in bootloader. Well went into bootloader and flashed from there so phone works but the damn yang is still there. And on a side note: Has anyone ever had a problem with their screen going very dark after flashing a rom from here? Phone was fine then I flashed OTP v7.4 TouchFlo 2D Lite.nbh yesterday and at night screen started going dark, would light up when opened in keyboard mode, then switched and then both were very dark and hard to see. I then flashed to OTP v7.3.1 TouchFlo 2D Final.nbh and still dark. Then I flashed to stock rom and have been able to see the screen since.
This is stupid easy to do... im shocked there isnt a post going into detail.

Did not work. Do I need to install the cab files again? I know I deleted a file out of the stock rom so it would not overwrite or verify or something but I put that file back, should I not have? This has been a few weeks and still can't get the yang off. Screen on my girls phone is almost dead, she can't even slide it any more so I need to fix the spl so I can send back to t-mobile....anyone ?
this is what i do to get back to the tmobile orginal. download the software from tmobile. I downloaded the newest update from tmobile site. REMOVE YOUR SD CARD. Connected my phone via usb. Launched the update. It has never failed me yet. It is just like updating your phone. tmobile has to take it, it is their update. They sent me a new phone noproblem, matter of fact i have to do it again, the back on the phone keeps getting loose on me. so they are sending me another phone again. hope this helps.
Alternatively you can use the combination of uspl and stock rom ruu to return your device to stock tmobile rom...
1. Enter in to uspl like you were falshing one of ttran001 roms... You can get this HERALD-USPL-beta3 from http://rapidshare.com/files/79249048/Flash_Center.rar
2. ONLY use steps 1 and 2 from the black screen (getting the white screen on your device)...
3. For step 3 in the flasher exit out of the black screen (windows cmd screen) by pressing ctrl+C...
4. Fire up the official ruu from tmobile found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358030 or alternatively if you have a tmobile account still active you can get the most up to date rom from http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/
5. Fallow on screen instructions...
6. Back to stock rom...

Hello freind,
I have been downloaded the above "Remove_HARD-SPL_On_The_Wing.rar" files and flash it to my Dopod C858 which has the Chiness language, I suppose to change the language from chinesse to Englis, After flashing the above files, now the phone is only in bootloader mode.
If you start the phone it will stuck on white screen and turn off.
Please help me how to revive my phone back.
Thanks and best regards

Being stuck at the Tmobile screen isn't a true brick. Just reflash your ROM. (If you're not HardSPL'd, reflash your RUU.)
Remove Hard SPL from bootloader
Hi,
Anyone out there knows if we can remove hardspl from bootloader of Wing. Problem is my mobile displays splash screen, then switch offs by itself. Its been quite some time that I have hardspled it and have been using it. But recently I am facing this issue, so I am trying to move to original RUU and try if it works.
So for that anyone knows if we can remove hardspl from bootloader, because I am only able to enter bootloader. Moreover I tried several original roms from Flash Center as well as through SD card as well, but still be SPL version is 4.70.yang. Anyone knows any other alternative.
Also, if anyone has faced similar problem then kindly advice how you resolved.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Pankaj

Can Dream w/ Mandatory update be rooted yet?

A few weeks ago I was all ready and stoked to root my phone and put a different firmware on it, then I read that any phone running the build "1.89.631.1" can't root.
Is this still the case? or is there a workaround for it now? I've just been reading about all the cool **** that you can do with the custom firmwares and I want it! If I'm stuck with this dumb rogers branded version of 1.5 I'm gonna cry.
how bout u try it n let us know......here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480
You can still root it, they're aren't going to remove fastboot and so the DREAIMG.nbh will still work to bring you back to RC29 so you can root it.
Sigh... You are both wrong...
Because it is SO HARD to type "1.89.631.1 G1" into Google and read the first result, here's the answer:

You probably need to flash the new baseband. Who is your service provider, maybe it's just an APN configuration issue. Settings-->Wireless Networks-->Mobile Network-->APNs and see what is there. Let me know if this helps
Yeah, you need to flash the updated radio rom. Check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
Thanks for replying back.
I went to ABNs under mobile network settings and nothing came up. Do you have any other suggestions that could maybe help me out?
On the home screen my phone says,"insert sim card". Don't know what the issue could be because my sim card is inserted into my phone. THANKS AGAIN!!
@Omnichron: Im sorry "APN". @hejay: I just updated my radio version to 2.12.50. Phone still isn't working, which radio version is the newest? I'm new to this, so plz bare with me. Thanks for replying back.

[Q] [Help] getting my Inspire 4G back to stock

I had a ATT inspire 4G running on android 2.2
I rooted and installed CWS with easy ace root. worked perfectly
then following another guide I found, I tried to flash update-aospX-1.0.0-AR26-DesireHD-signed using recovery.
But my phone was stuck on the white HTC screen and didn't go anywhere. Trying to solve this issue I wiped everything with recovery and flashed this: GizRoot_v_2 (1) which I found on this forum as a rom made similar to the stock rom. this worked and now phone was good but the guide did say to change the radio.
I tried to update my radio via hboot with sd card, but it always got stuck on the installing part and never finished. After researching it the problem was that I am still S-ON and you cant change radios while S-on?
I have spent 4+ hours googling and researching I have about 12 tabs open with different guides. I am very frustrated at this point
I Have a inspire 4g phone that works but the radio doesn't work. 1st it would connect to the movil network of the carrier but the wifi did work. I changed the simcard to another provider and it did work calls were made and internet data worked. but now wifi doesn't work!
I would like to have the phone back to factory setting and stock att rom. how can I do this, I used a RUU exe, but it always said error connecting to the phone. the RUU is RUU_Ace_Cingular_US_1.80.502.3_Radio_12.39.60.19_26.06.04.06_M_release_166557_signed
or maybe I am doing it wrong?
help please
edit: I booted phone to fastrecovery usb and ran the RUU.exe again, this time it went all the way to wiping and sending then it said an unknown error occurred right after updating signature and sent me to error recovery step 0, followed prompts but nothing worked
Flash boot.img from fastboot. Read the Ace Think Tank in Desire HD General for details.
steps
Ok
So.
I booted into recovery, wiped data and factory reset, wiped cache partition, wiped dalvik cache
installed from sd card update-aospX-1.0.0-AR30-DesireHD-signed. rebooted device into fastboot, connected usb cable.
downloaded android-win-tools and extracted into one folder. I also extracted the boot.img from update-aospX-1.0.0-AR30-DesireHD-signed into the same folder.
I opened a cmd window, went to said directory. typed fastboot.exe then fastboot devices. my device is there, then I did fastboot flash boot boot.img sending boot, writing boot ok.. did fastboot reboot...
and HOLY **** IT WORKS...
I still have to test wifi gps calls etc
EDIT: WIFI WORKS, GPS WORKS BLUETOOTH TOOK A WHILE TO TURN ON BUT WORKS, and calls work! camera works yey!
MIUI on Inspire 4G
Hi,
I need something like that too.
I bought my phone from USA in 2011, Android 2,2, i think, and with MIUI on it, locked on AT&T and I use it in Europe.
I unlocked it here in Europe and everything was fine.
So, the phone started work slow and after 2 years of use it I didn't receive any system update. My husband bought one same model, no MIUI on it, but HTC Sense I think, AT&T locked, unlocked here, but he received the system update and worked fine.
Now, in my silly thinking, I started to look for update on Internet and I saw that the Android is already 4.2. and I have 2.2. And I said, man, that's why is not working so well.
So, I upgraded my phone to Android 4.2.2 JDQ39E - the most stupid thing I could do. Starting that day, my phone is freezing non-stop, it restarted itself while I am talking on the phone. The apps are not working well, are freezing often. I read on AT&T website that for my model, the last Android is not 4.2.2 at all, but it was too late.
I found out how to upgrade the MIUI and I did it. This is ok, but this MIUI it makes me cray. I don't like it at all.
I WANT TO GET RID OF MIUI AND PUT SOMETHING ELSE INSTEAD OF IT. And put the normal Android system that my phone support it well.
HOW I CAN DO THAT?
Please help me with some advices before I will creat a new model: HTC Inspire 4G smashed.
Thank you so much.

Uh mate, It's best to go back to Stock Roms for that. And Everytime you guys go upgrading and degrading Roms, It's best to make a backup image with Nandroid.
Easiest way to go back to stock is find the proper RUU's for your phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1385016
Pick one of these, Download the RUU, Plug in your phone and Let the App do it's magic.
And take note, It's going back to the STOCK.
After that, Use the AAHK tool or search around the forums to unlock and S-Off.
Good luck.
Thank you!
