i'm looking for a simple app that keeps track of uploaded/doawnloaded data over mij mobile data connection, as i have a 2GB data limit, and my mobile provider doesn't offer any means of telling how much of that has been used up so far.
any suggestions?
i think to be honest that you will struggle to use 2gb in a month i have 500mb and the most i ahve got to is 328mb as long as it is all used on your phone
hey, i have torrents, youtube, and a shared internetconnection on it i might need to watch out
This is a great app: SPB Wireless Monitor: US$20 (Monitors every type of connection/app)
You can find some other free apps if you look around.
thanks that spb app is exactly what im looking for, think i'll buy
it's worth the money...I've used it for ages and it's the best I've found
free apps
Hi guys,
I have been looking around for something like this. I have googled but could not find a free app, maybe I am putting in the wrong words.
Do you know any free one?

Hey,
I am looking for a free GPRS monitor and i couldn't find one, i like SPB ones but its not free. So guys any help would be appreciated.
I use HomeScreen++.
It's a today plugin and does other things as well. But I've set it up to just show the GPRS usage part, which sound like is what you are after.
thanks i will try that.
I think for it work, we have to enable it on today screen, am i right?? Because i want to use titanium as my today screen so i wont be able to use this program. Is there any other application to do my job
What are some good, freeware WIFI router apps that generally work on win mobile devices? I've been searching and haven't found anything worthwhile. You all are always reliable on recommendations so thought I'd ask...
Search for HTC Wifi Internet Sharing, I've been successfully using it on my Kaiser for months, and it works great, especially for freeware. But, if you want to do more interesting stuff, WMWifirouter, by our own member Chainfire, is an excellent payware solution.
+1 for HTC's free app
I don't use it all the time, but when I have needed to provide my own wifi to my laptop it has worked flawlessly.
The internet sharing app doesn't seem to do WIFI broadcasting. I'm trying to get this going before a deploy so that it will be much easier to have internet access whenever I want to email home.
I'm not so into advanced WiFi stuff, is there a chance you can set up a WiFi network on your phone and then connect to with your phone?
Right. That's what we have established... A program is available from another forum member but it costs some money. I'd like to know how to do it in some free fashion though.
I have tried the paid program and it is very nice, I just don't know that it's really worth the expenditure.
Are there any custom roms with a network traffic monitor, so I can view (or even control / cut off) network traffic (live and cumulative) of my phone splitted by GPRS, WiFi etc. etc.?
Or else a seperate program to install (freeware)?

Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376954
I already did, but it doesnt do what I want/need:
Keep track of all traffic on 1 type of interface (especially GPRS/EDGE!), also while not 'started and running', so I can see how much money Im losing on data...
Besides that, it crashes when I press Options?!
spb has a gprs monitor: http://spb.com/products/gprsmonitor/
SPB
Yes, I know, but its not free (its 20$)
For a simple app as this I won't pay, although it looks nice, and probably the money I save in data usage is less than the 20$
Edit: I have found a free version for Qtek users of SPB, and it's a GREAT app, exactly what I needed!
It can be found here: qtek.nl/_BIN/appcd/AppCD_Qtek9100_v2.zip

SPB Wireless Monitor is the best solution I have found for this but it isn't free unfortunately. Worth the money though, I have used it for months.

thanks, yea i have looked at it, but it seems pricey for what it does
maybe i'm just narked that it's not built into the phone and i dont want pay to have it
Unfortunately at present i only get 50MB allowance on my mobile data a day which costs 69 cents, generally if your just browsing the web that is enough but quite often apps need updating and i might not be anywhere near any free WiFi so it eats up my allowance, my question is - is there a different method to download apps like apk. files or something?
Obviously updating apps is one thing but sometimes you come across a few apps and just wanna download them but some of them can be up to and over 20MB and that will eat up my data allowance,is there any other way in the market of downloading like apk.?
Can you not use WIFI?
Do you mean like download the apk on a pc first or something? In any case I don't think that is possible.
Do you not have a wireless internet connection as home you can use?

i do yeah i only get 7.5GB a month with that too (pay as you go Broadband, no contract) i can sometimes log onto the home connection on my phone but i was thinking that perhaps there might be a way to download apk. files but it appears there isn't unless it's someone on XDA who has developed an app and it's not in the market yet.
