Where is the latest Faria's Rom ?

Hi, I tried for many times to update my qtek 9100 with some of farias rom, as the last I tried, farias [the real thing], without any good results... The only one that is working now on my phone is Wizard love.
Someone knows where to find the last issue ?

I thought faria's the real thing was the latest faria rom... Oh and how are you trying to flash the rom and is your device a G3 or G4?
If your device is a G3(1.xx or 2.xx or 3.08) then you will need to CID unlock the device before you can flash anything with RUU
If the device is a G4(2.xx.0001) then you have 2 options. You can either use shelltools to flash, or use the-equinox's new SoftSPL which temporarily CID unlocks the device thus not voiding your warranty and allows you to flash any rom with RUU.

I guess you are right, the last version was crossbow, but I found many of them on a ftp (ftp://130.89.126.174:2311/Wizard/Roms/WM6 Roms/), and this is the last reference I guess.

I tryed two methods.
Fisrt, using the package application utility.
Second, using shelltools, uploading the .nbf file.
My device is a G4, and as far as i read I dont see any issues on upgrading using CID-lock devide.
When I flash using shelltools, Do I need to clean the current device rom, or just send the new one should work ?!
Before flash I did a backup using wizard service tool, and it generates some files with .fls extensions. Is it possible to put then back in order to have my phone to the original state ?
And the last question ( )
Temporary unlocking using your suggestion (SoftSPL) could damage something if the process kill before ends ?

Latest Latest Rom
To be completely accurate, Faria's latest latest ROM is in the kitchen he released (sticky at the top of this forum). This is a minor upgrade to the Real Thing ROM, but is worth checking out, plus its a great way to get started with cooking your own rom.

Give this a try. It temporarily CID unlocks your G4 device allowing you to upgrade via RUU method instead of shelltools. It is much more effective at flashing roms as I was never able to flash faria's rom with shelltools but it finished after 6 minutes with the RUU.

Faria's most recent ROM
The Faria kitchen was released on 4/20/07....
but Dr Puttingham mentions in this post:

that this more recent ROM is from Faria "with regards".....which was on 6/7/07

[UPG]USPL for ELFIN - Only for the brave ones

Hi everybody,
I made up a new version of pof's USPL for ELFIN based on SPL 2.20.0000. You should be able to flash SPL in the third step now.
Why a new version? Because USPL v1 is only for ELF (64/128MB), but not for ELFIN (128/256MB). Flashing the old ELF SPL in step three on a new ELFIN used to brick your device.

ummmmm i just used to use the old uspl v1 and exit after step 3 than flash my rom, if you guys are really keen on testing this my new elfin will be here today or on monday and i will try it with my old one just to piss of rogers

I think that a Elfin dopod owner can test this without problems, because if don't work he can flash the complete (and signed) dopod rom from bootloader to restore the original SPL...

i have a elfin locked on bootloader screen....can change my spl with this??

what ??? the UPSL 1.0 is for Elf only and not Elfin ??? what i dont understand is what do you guys mean quit at step 3 ??? I flashed my Elfin with UPSL 1.0 with all steps for more than 6 times so far and nothing has happen so far ... my SPL is the 2.20.2000 one ...

that´s wrong.
You flashed those roms containing the USPL (start.bat). They automaticly quit the 3rd step and go directly to the Rom Utility to flash the new ROM.
If you use POF´s USPL v1 and you don´t quit after step 3, the patched Bootloader will be flashed from your devices RAM to the ROM, and this wil brick your ELFin. If you have done this, your actual IPL or SPL would be 1.11.xxx...

Sorry: could someone explain me whether it is strictly needed to use the USPL unlock (the one are treated in this post) to flash the PDA?
I mean: the bootloader in the rom package is not able to do that?

we need some thing to unloack direct from boot loader and no need to active sync

as far as i know this is not possible, cause you can´t access bootloader files...in bootloader mode.
same on pc, you can´t delete or replace files, which are open/inuse by another program...

The Rom Packages u can get here don´t contain a bootloader...and even if they would, the bootloader or the rom would have to match your model ID for flashing it to your device....so yes, it´s stricktly needed to CID unlock to flash Custom ROMs or ROMs with other vendor IDs.

Could someone help me? The USPL is needed for the flashing of ROM, or is it enough the bootloader of the ROM?

Hi all, not that i think myself insane but i have tried the USPL for my Elfin 128/256 Touch a few days ago . I have followed the steps and the screen turned white as mentioned by the installer after that it booted up fine again.
Everything seems to be working fine!
However, i have not seen any change to the device..

You don't see any change in the device.... but if USPL works you can flash ANY rom from bootloader directly executing RomUpdateUyility, you don`t need to boot windows, activesync and white screen (temporary SuperCID) to flash, try.....
Go to RUU directory and execute RomUpdateUtlity instead of RUN.bat and see if you can flash any rom without 3% (corrupted) error....

Use this file for flashing the rom instead of the default update utility (usually named "ROMUpdateUtility.exe or XP_ROMUpdateUtility.exe")

You really need to read the G4 sub forum I'm sure the answer is in there. I don't have a G4 device so I can't be any more help...sorry. If you do it properly you can flash any ROM that is G4 safe. Good Luck

This error messages indicate that RUU lacks certain important files and cannot continue with the update.Get the complete RUU package again.Your download might be corrupt,download again or try with another pc.

Ok bro, use this rom:
TNT 19209 ROM
Download and flash one of three rom (Vanilla, Official or Pro). If the XP_ROMUpdateUtility.exe give you an error try the NoID utility in my previous post
This roms are G4 SAFE
If you're done we can try next steps (UC Packs and Radio rom update) but first try the rom flash bro

Well what can I say?
I tried everything for finding a ROM that allows my Herald using wm6 istead wm5 but i did not find anything including htc eclub, various forums (where i simply got lost )
is there anyone who can show me where i can find this ROM and tell me how install it on my Herald?

1. This forum is for MAKING ROMs not finding ROMs.
2. You want 6.0, not 6.1 or 6.5?
3. You want something official?
4. Third part ROMs are better. There are a BUNCH on this forum. Search for them.
5. If you really just want a stock one, why didn't you just search "Herald stock 6.0 rom"
6. Since you have wm5.0, it must mean that you have an IPL/SPL lower than 4.0. Do NOT HardSPL or use USPL. READ READ READ. If you can't flash the STOCK 6.0 (which upgrades your IPL/SPL) then create goldcard to let you flash it. Flash that FIRST to get your IPL and SPL upgraded. Search on how to do that. It's all in the forum.

I downloaded Several Roms

I downloaded Several Roms but can't intall them completely my hard spl is 3.29 and rom version is 3.34 and os is wm6.1 wwe so whenever is tried wm6.5 Rom it stucks on 0%

Are you using the .exe file provided to flash?, in that case, try by flash a new ROM from your SD card. Rename the .nbh to KAISIMG.nbh, in your SD card (1 Gb is the best) and power on your phone by pressing and hold camera button and reset, then follow the instructions.
If you are going to WM6.5, flash first an original 6.1 ROM from your provider or HTC to cleanup the storage, and after the flash, hard reset your device.

yes that is a good sugestion..flash from SD card and place flash file to be on the root of you SD disk..i don't use PC for anywhere to flash Kaiser because can download from WiFi that files birect to SD card.Good luck!

Read the stickies!!!!!!! Then follow the flashing for noobs bit. It explains it all in perfect detail in there. Force it into usb mode or if that doesnt work, flash via sd.

Which 6.1 rom are you using to upgrade from?

What other HardSPL versions have you tried? Does it say USB on the screen when you are on the tri colour screen after changing HardSPL?
I've had problems doing it the sd card way in the past so I always use USB now and it's not failed once. Just try different hardSpl versions, that seems to be where you troubles lie.

Stuntdouble is right, remember when you search and flash different roms the cookers always post in their threads recommended hardspl and radio so you won't have any problems running their roms.
Also, please follow in detail every step in the flashing for noobs thread for hardspl flashing
Having that, I think nobody should have any problems since you only need to follow intructions in detail.

Have you un-locked the Kaiser?
I got the same problem when I got my TYTN II back from repair, I had to un-lockit again.
