Hello everyone.
I registered to unlock my HTC Magician and thougth that reading and following the guides would be enough for getting my phone unlocked, but apparently it wasn't so.
The phone had Cottulla's WWE O4 Rom, I then downloaded 'original' uk and spanish rom from the wiki, restored/reinstalled the original rom using MaUpgradeUt_noID.
Now when I turn on the device with a SIM card, the phone asks me an unlock code with a messaga "Network is locked please input unlock code"
Already tried with '00000000', but no luck.
¿what's supposed to be done in this case?

hey guys,
I have a dilemma here, I received an unlock code from att for my 750 and apparently after 5 attempts of putting in the unlock code, att says that this will lock the phone into att's network.
My question is --- can I still attempt to unlock it through hardspl and will it work...i should have done this in the first place but apparently thought that inserting the unlock code from att (which i got instantly) would be much easier...I was not told that after 5 unsuccessful trys that this would lock it into atts network...
I only want to sim unlock it and not upgrade the OS
You can Hard-SPL and unlock your phone without having to upgrade the os, just read the unlock thread
Hello all,
I just received my sim unlock code from my provider because my phone has a simlock.
They said in the email that I have to put in a foreign simcard, enter the code of that simcard and then I have to see a screen where I can type the simlock code.
Unfortunately that screen doesn't show up.
My HTC Sensation XE is rooted and I have Android 4.2.2 from Albinoman887.
Is there another way to enter the code to unlock my simlock?
Thanks in advance
I may be wrong but I think this is most likely operators fault..
You could always try another ROM and see where that gets you.
After that there is always the option to go back to stock ROM.

For HTC the only way to insert the unlock code is after the phone asks for it,with another sim inside. Is a common problem not to ask for code if you have another rom installed so restoring to the stock rom should allow you to insert the unlock code
I own an LG-e612f android cellular telephone that I bought from Telcel in Mexico. I have not been able to unlock it. I have the unlocking code for it but everytime I attempt to open the phone for it to ask me for an unlocking code it goes into an "emergency use only" spot.
I have had several companies try to unlock it and they have not been successful. I was referred to your page by cellunlocker.net. I bought the unlocking code from them and have followed their instructions to no avail. Need someone that can help me.

The problem with Telcel Mexico is they have on their phones a locked firmware also, that does not allow you to insert the unlock code. You have to flash a different firmware on the phone then will be able to insert the unlock code
Hey guys,
I have a situation with my HTC 10. I have unlocked bootloader, and S-off via sunshine and installed Viper10. I recently purchased network unlock codes from HTCUnlockingservice.com but it wouldn't work when I restarted the phone with Verizon sim, so I had to go back to stock T-Mobile RUU. But I have the same problem, when I insert a foreign sim it doesn't promp me to enter unlock codes, instead I have a sim-lock icon in my status bar. The TMobile Device unlock App doesn't work either (it used to say incompatible with Viper10, now it says "failure in processing request. please reboot device and try again").
Can someone help me find a way around it ??
Is there a *# sequence to prompt unlock code entry ?? something like the *#06# is ed for IMEI...
Please help, going crazy over here
thanks
Sooo,
I bought a used vodafone moto g 1st gen naively expecting to have an easy sim-unlock available in the forums - maybe I haven't found it yet?
The online unlock code vendors I tried have refunded me saying they can't do my IMEI so I'm a bit stuck.
I flashed cyanogen hoping a new kernel would do the magic but I guess the simlock is in a different partition?
I see that a couple years ago http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2903823 some were considering how the sim unlock modified the utag partitions. Does anyone know of further progress, information or solutions to sim unlock a moto g?
Or has anyone found a vendor that has successfully provided a UK vodafone sim unlock code?
P.S. Will I need to revert to the stock rom and kernel to use a sim unlock code?
The official Vodafone UK unlock service should work: https://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/forms/unlock-code-request/
Thanks Professor Gibbins.
Unfortunately the Vodafone unlock process asks for the vodafone number that has been used with the phone. Perhaps it would work if I got a pay-as-you go SIM from them and then provided that number.
Fortunately I tried paying a third unlock code vendor - sim-unlock*.net - waited a couple days and they came through with a valid code. I had started with the cheapest ebay vendors, so maybe they just weren't legit?
In any case, if someone else is in similar circumstances, here's what I learned:
There doesn't seem to be any other solution for sim unlocking the moto G xt1032 than purchasing an unlock code from an online vendor or, in the case of you being the original owner, from the network you purchased the phone from
Having a couple online vendors say they cannot get you the code does not mean another cannot
Neither unlocking the bootloader, installing a different recovery (TWRP), nor flashing a Cyanogen ROM will help Sim unlock the phone
The code provided by the online vendor did not work when I had Cyanogen installed. Fortunately I had created a backup of the vodafone ROM (using TWRP) and restoring their android version/kernel allowed the code purchased online to sim unlock the phone
Finally, the SIM unlock done in the vodafone system was maintained after restoring my Cyanogen install. I hope this means the sim/network lock will not return. It might perhaps resurface if I did a system restore; hopefully then the same unlock code would work again?

Once the unlock is done via an UNLOCK CODE, or via hardware unlocking tools, then it is permanent, so you shouldn't need to worry about this at all, but that said, in case you experience SIM un-/lock issues, then reuse the code when trying to unlock the phone on an OEM-DISTRIBUTED ROM (stock ROM).
