Brick phone after 5 unsuccessful unlock code trys - Palm Treo 750

hey guys,
I have a dilemma here, I received an unlock code from att for my 750 and apparently after 5 attempts of putting in the unlock code, att says that this will lock the phone into att's network.
My question is --- can I still attempt to unlock it through hardspl and will it work...i should have done this in the first place but apparently thought that inserting the unlock code from att (which i got instantly) would be much easier...I was not told that after 5 unsuccessful trys that this would lock it into atts network...
I only want to sim unlock it and not upgrade the OS

You can Hard-SPL and unlock your phone without having to upgrade the os, just read the unlock thread

Can't enter the SIM Unlock in HTC ROM

Hello Everybody,
I have ATT Tilt. Yesterday I did CID Unlock and successfully flashed the HTC ROM:
RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_3.03.405.0_radio_sign_25.70.40. 02_1.64.06.04
Today I received SIM unlock code from ATT. When I booted the phone with my old T-Mobile card the gets stuck in a white screen with message:
“Checking SIM lock status, please wait…”
I can’t get over it to enter the SIM unlock code. I hope there is a way around so I do not need to go back to ATT ROM just to SIM unlock the phone.
I remember that few days ago, when I put the T-Mobile SIM card in Tilt and Tilt was still on the ATT ROM it sent me to a screen requesting me to enter the SIM unlock code.

Try to flash back to stock Tilt rom and ATT Radio, then hard rest, then put the T-Mobile sim in. If that doesn't work, I suggest reading the Unlocker stickies, there is an unlock tool release.
Yes, it worked, after flashing a stock ATT ROM. Now is fully unlocked but it will take me another couple of hours to put all staff back into it
Thank you!

Unable to unlock AT&T Fuze

I've received and confirmed the unlock code from AT&T based on my IMEI # - but it is not being accepted as valid by my Fuze. I've downgraded the radio and ROM to stock, and I am still under the 5 invalid unlock attempts before I'm stuck to AT&T. Any thoughts on what to do when the code from AT&T doesn't unlock the SIM?
Thanks,
TT
me too!
You are not along!
I am having teh same problem. First I got the unlock code from my account, after that I called and got the code from them and both did not worked.
I do not know about you, but I probably will complain and change the phone it by waranty while I have it.

[Q] Network locked phone and a custom ROM: will it still be locked to the network?

With a network locked phone and a custom ROM, will I still be locked to the network?
Also, how do I know if my phone is locked? It won't run with other SIM cards in it, but there's no message. It just crashes at the "Omnia 7" logo and reboots endlessly.
And finally, are you supposed to do the network unlock before installing a custom ROM? I've read that some unlockers check "software version" and mine is likely to be obscure.
Thanks
To answer my questions (for the benefit of others finding this thread).
1. Custom ROMs and bootloaders are entirely separate from network unlocking.
2. Um, it was locked as I thought.
3. Didn't seem to matter. Which was fortunate since my device identifies as a Nokia but the Samsung unlock worked anyway.
Unlocking HTC Radar c110e Carrier lock

SIM Unlocking Process

Hello, I mistakenly got a Cricket Idol 3 on eBay and I was wondering what would be the process to unlock it, where to get a code, and has anyone successfully unlocked one. Most post on the forum are those saying the unlocking process failed and it seems that you can permanently lock it. I was just wondering because if not I am gonna just take that strike on the eBay account.

Unlocking Sprint based S8 after changed firmware to T-mobile.

Hey there,
I got a S8 phone from a coworker, that belonged to their ex. It was locked to their ex's google account. She gave it to me and said I could have it if I could get it to work.
Ended up flashing it with the T-mobile S8 firmware but only to find out that it was unlocked to the Sprint network. She is no longer on his plan so could not call Sprint to unlock it. And she doesn't want to call him to deal with it. Anyway, so no problem. Can unlock it via a 3rd party. Went with unlock base but still waiting for the code.
From what I read on the site, I will need to insert my sim and it will ask me for the unlock code. Unfortunately, when I insert a sim currently, it just says to contact sprint. I'm guessing this is due to the T-mobile firmware.
Will I now have to install the Sprint firmware to get it give me the unlock prompt upon sim insertion?
And after it's unlocked, can I go back to the T-mobile firmware?
Thanks for all the help in advance!
If the IMEI is paid off you can request an unlock from Sprint, if not you would need to use third party.
You can attempt unlock yourself but you do it at your own risk.
