I recently installed cyanogen 2.4.2 on my sapphire 32B. I installed the cyanogen updater on my phone and noticed there's a new update (2.5.2) It downloads and restarts my phone in recovery but It can't mount the SD card so I can't update.
I've tried mutliple SD cards formatted on the phone and on my computer (both mac and pc) and nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have a HTC Desire,
Rooted my phone with Unrevoked 3.31, everything went fine.
As soon as I got into recovery menu, Clockwork, I cannot mount my SD Card.
When I go to - Install zip from SD Card, and I'm trying to read my sd card to load the ROM zip, it says that Its unable to mount it.
I've seen a couple of posts with information and tried to follow suggestions, but no luck.

Had this issue with my friends card as well. we ended up pulling the card out and throwing it into a computer. then we reformated it as fat32 put it back in the phone. and it worked. we also went from Clockworkmod 3.0.0.5 back to 2.5.x.x Alot of ppl ive talked to are having issues with 3.0.0.5 and some roms/mod/kernals cant be flashed with it.
Also make sure the sd card is not locked i know that sounds like a stupid statement but it needs to be checked lol
i also ran into this problem,, all i did was format my sdcard.. and if u have another card laying around try using it... if formatting through computer does not work, try formatting it through your android phone

Hey guys also couldnt mount sd card at all either. Took out my sim card and it works fine...... Telstra sim card. WTF?

Anyone figure this out?? I had trouble flashing Kings Alliance ROM and I had to do a battery pull and then I wanted to get some dust out around my SD card so I unplugged it and not when I'm in recovery it can't mount. PLEASE HELP?!
+1 here. i formated in windows for fat32. after it i wanted to flash a new rom, but in recovery my phone tells me, that he can´t mount my sdcard.
I flashed my droid with Unr3voked and proceeded to install Sapphire. With it, I had to get ROM Manager and Clockwork Recovery. I noticed somehow my 2 gigs of SD card memory was gone, and I tried to format the SD card. When I rebooted, it is stuck on the white Incredible boot screen. I can get it to recovery mode, but I got a bit... delete happy. My SD card got partitioned, and it also says my SD card can't be mounted with error E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcb1k1p1 (or /dev/block/mmcb1k1). I want to 1) unpartition my SD card, (I know, there's a million forum posts about this, but I'm on a Mac and can't seem to figure it out) and 2) fix all this and get my phone working again. I don't really care what ROM it uses as long as it works again. Any help would be thoroughly appreciated.
no you did not brick your phone bcuz you can get to the recovery.
Well, after getting a blue screen on my PC I then tried what most suggested: DELETE/UNINSTALL any LG driver and re-plug phone to install drivers again.
I went to uninstall programs and got rid of the LG driver there, then plugged my phone up and apparently installed two out of three files successfully. I rebooted my pc and now I plug my phone to it and two things:
1. My computer does not see the sdcard
2. My phone does not see my sd card
When I try to go with phone file manager to SD card it says.... SD card not mounted.
What to do now?
Is it mounted in the Settings > Sd card & Storage menu?

I'm running cm7 and in the storage menu there are 3 breaks:
the first one for the SD card, second one for internal and third one to show you how much space is left in the SD card...
Well, in the 1st slot there is not card mounted but in the last one it does show how much space is left/used.... very weird if you ask me!
I will check if the sdcard is not bricked now with a sdcard reader...
well, I think the SDcard is bricked.... I put in the SD reader and connected to my pc and it is not being recognized!
UPDATE: Bought a new sdcard and I still can't mount my card to the pc? WTF!!

Have you reinstalled the LG drivers? Your PC cannot access even the SD card without those drivers.
This is why, once I upgraded past G1, I decided to not root anymore. 2.2 with a strong phone works great. I focus on being a "power user" and not a modder because, quite frankly, it takes way too much effort and the risk of messing up my phone is too great. I just don't understanding stepping out on that ice all the time, when the phone works so well without modding it beyond the user experience.

I couldn't connect to SD at first until I used the downloaded drivers.
No problems anymore here.

UPDATE: I have went back to eagleblood's rom and now I am able to mount my internal and external sdcards to my pc *HAPPY*
I plan on going back to CM7 and hopefully I am able to mount the cards again without the BSOD!
UPDATE: as stated earlier... I went back to CM7 and now all my f'ng drivers are messed up again...not able to mount/unmount SDcard!!
CM7 should look into this.

i have W8. and i tried couple of custom roms designed for X8.
floyo 1.0 was the last one i tried with success.
Yesterday i tried HTC salsa. Then the issue began.
my SD card is not getting detected in phone and i cant access card by usb cable.
The card is working fine. i connected to pc using card reader.
and copied another rom cm7-138. then rebooted phone and installed cm7 from
xrecovery. ----Xrecovery is able to access sd card----
but again after the installation was over, i cant access sd card from my android.
still xrecovery can access it.
using SEUS i flashed back to factory os. then everything is working fine.
any idea what the issue might be ?
I have a nexus s and i instaaled a new custom rom,after that my sd card wont mount.it shows no sd card.
I opened recovery and accidently i formatted all the system datas.now when am switching on the phone only opening recovery.it shows error mounting sd card,but when i connect to pc its showing in the pc.
I cant install a new rom.
