Well, after getting a blue screen on my PC I then tried what most suggested: DELETE/UNINSTALL any LG driver and re-plug phone to install drivers again.
I went to uninstall programs and got rid of the LG driver there, then plugged my phone up and apparently installed two out of three files successfully. I rebooted my pc and now I plug my phone to it and two things:
1. My computer does not see the sdcard
2. My phone does not see my sd card
When I try to go with phone file manager to SD card it says.... SD card not mounted.
What to do now?
Is it mounted in the Settings > Sd card & Storage menu?
Nope...
I'm running cm7 and in the storage menu there are 3 breaks:
the first one for the SD card, second one for internal and third one to show you how much space is left in the SD card...
Well, in the 1st slot there is not card mounted but in the last one it does show how much space is left/used.... very weird if you ask me!
I will check if the sdcard is not bricked now with a sdcard reader...
well, I think the SDcard is bricked.... I put in the SD reader and connected to my pc and it is not being recognized!
UPDATE: Bought a new sdcard and I still can't mount my card to the pc? WTF!!

Have you reinstalled the LG drivers? Your PC cannot access even the SD card without those drivers.
This is why, once I upgraded past G1, I decided to not root anymore. 2.2 with a strong phone works great. I focus on being a "power user" and not a modder because, quite frankly, it takes way too much effort and the risk of messing up my phone is too great. I just don't understanding stepping out on that ice all the time, when the phone works so well without modding it beyond the user experience.
download from LG site
Hi,
Have you tried downloading and installing the latest drivers from LG website?
I couldn't connect to SD at first until I used the downloaded drivers.
No problems anymore here.
grtz,
Pfeffa-rah
UPDATE: I have went back to eagleblood's rom and now I am able to mount my internal and external sdcards to my pc *HAPPY*
I plan on going back to CM7 and hopefully I am able to mount the cards again without the BSOD!
UPDATE: as stated earlier... I went back to CM7 and now all my f'ng drivers are messed up again...not able to mount/unmount SDcard!!
CM7 should look into this.

Hi all, i do have big problem with my 4GB SD Card in Vodafone 845 (Androind 2.1) which won't mount correctly in WinXP SP3. New drive letter is assigned to SD Card, but when i try to access this new drive i always get message "Drive not found!". Approx. 1 week ago this procedure was working fine, and i was able to access new drive without any problems, but now this is not working for unknown reason. I tried to remove and reinsert SD Card, but it didn't help. SD Card is 100% fine, i can access data on it through phone itself - wallpapers, music etc. I thought that maybe USB cable is damaged, but it's not. I can access all data which are located in phone memory without any problem through this cable in Windows. Then i thought PC Suite app which was provided with this phone became corrupt so i reinstalled this app including phone drivers, but this didn't help. I tried to search for newer drivers for this phone, but i didn't find any. In device managers all devices are and were correctly installed - no unknown devices asking for drivers. So then i decided to do fresh install of Windows XP with hope that this will solve problem, but situation is same and it didn't help at all. I tried to install "automount" app from market, but it didn't help at all. I'm playing with these for long hours now, but still no working solutions. Can somebody help me to solve this issue?
The only thing I see is that you have tried everything BUT you have not tried formatting the card yet. Yes I know you are going to lose everything on it but that is the price we pay some of the time. Format the card and if it still doesn't work, let us know.
Thanks for advice!
Sorry for late reply, i was lying in the bed with flu. I reformatted SDCard and flashed new custom Mr.Edition 1.8 ROM. It's working fine now, i'm able to mount sdcard properly in Window XP now. Seems there was something wrong with SDCard, like if some installed app amended something in SDCard parameters, so WinXP was not able to recognize and mount it. Do you think is it possible?
So I bought a used nexus one, att 3g running cyanogen and am having issues. I am a total noob, fyi. The phone does not recognize my 1GB or 8GB SD card, and my computer wont recognize the phone. I do not have the sd card that the previous owner used so I have no recovery image or ROMs to flash. Can someone help?
Perhaps you have developer mode on.
I need you to go to Settings > Applications > Development
If you have USB debugging checked, uncheck it.
If it is not checked, then what I say is not you solution. As a last resort, you might consider grabbing a cheap card reader that you can insert your sd card into which connects to your computer via USB.
Thanks aeronex.
I tried that; no success. I was thinking the card reader may work, so i will try that. I didn't expect this when I bought the phone, but it seems that with android there is almost always a solution.
I';m betting someone who reads this will know.
When you say won't recognize, do you mean not even the Pop up in Windows that says a New Device and searching for drivers? Try downloading and installing PDANet for USB tethering to get the drivers.
As for the card under Settings>SD Card & phones storage settings is Unmounted Grayed out or in White Print?
The option is grey. It won't allow. I will try the pdanet drivers now
No luck with PDAnet. Windows 7 still say "Unrecognized device drivers not installed". I have downloaded SDK and tried to manually install the drivers as well; no success.
So to recap the option of mountign SD card is grey, not white. I have even booted into recovery but cannot mount SD card that way or format SD card that way.
I have a T-Mobile G2 with stock 8GB microsd card. I was recording a video about 45 secs into it and all of a sudden the phone froze, I am not sure if it got full caz just before taking the video I checked and there was ~1.8GB free space. After a while an message came up saying "Please insert a SD card" (something along those line), so I figured my card must be full.
So I decided to go try and delete some file on it, only to find out all my apps installed on SD card was now unavailable, this is when I started to worry. I rebooted the phone, no luck. I shut it down and removed and replaced the SD card, no luck.
Plugged it into a Windows PC (Win XP 32 bit), it would see it in My Computers for few seconds and would disappear, even if I try to access it, it was just disappear.
I have some pictures and videos that I had taken on vacation which I really need, any ideas?
Currently as a temp solution I have a 4GB Microsd card in it and everything is fine (obviously, apps still not available), but I need the data from my original 8GB as this is my main concern, please help.
Btw, I have tried using recovery software such as Recuva and testdisk but since windows won't even see the drive I cannot use such software.
Thanks a ton.
if the sd not detected in phone or pc, maybe the sd card already dead.
anyone please?
Thanks
Im not sure what else can be said. If you computer and phone cant see the card, then it's probably dead. All you can at this point is attempt to do a quick format of the card and try to use the recovery software on it to see if you can restore the file structure

Yeh that is my last resort, but the problem is I cannot do anything as the drive disappears 2-3 seconds after windows detects it and when I try to do anything to that drive it just freezes for a while and closes itself.
any ideas??
if you have a digital camera insert the micro-sd via adapter make sure though to unmount the micro-sd via CWM for example, you should now be able to format the micro-sd card over the menu of your camera. if this doesn't work there's still hope you can try to format it on a linux based system but for now try to format it on your cam
Regular recovery methods won't work too good on an sd card, they were meant for spinning drives. Flash memory either works or it doesn't usually. Try cleaning the contacts and using different card reader/adapter combos. Try a linux live cd etc. If it's dead or corrupted, your kinda stuck. Even a format worked I wouldn't trust it again.
hello
i currently have a charge and have recently rooted it EE4. The root went fine and everything worked great for a few weeks. It was not until this week where i would go plug my phone into my computer which is running win7 64bit to mount the sd card and it would show up as a cd drive. I can view all of my files, I just cant write to the drive because of write protection.
For some reason I believe that it is a driver issue but I have tried reinstalling the drivers, which didnt work. Maybe i am not removing all of the drivers properly and reinstalling them correctly
I have tried connecting it to another computer, but it would also show up as a cd drive
I have tried reflashing the kernel and CWM
thanks
You didn't flash the SD card fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118111)
Just download it, put it on your SD card, reboot into recovery and 'Install ZIP from SD card'
Let me know how it works out!
This drove me nuts earlier this week and I had the SD card fix sitting on my SD card not installed. I ran the fix and everything worked perfectly.
So I had this 8gb micro Sdcard that came with my phone and for Christmas I got a 16gb one. I had a lot of precious stuff on the older 8gb, so I put it into an adapter and connected it to my PC, planning to backup the contents and then put it on the 16gb. But when i connected it in, it said "This card needs to be formated before using". I first i thought the adapter was broken, so I put the micro sdcard back into my android phone so I could connect my phone to the computer and do it that way but when it turned on it said "Sdcard ready to remove". The phone wouldn't recognise it either!
I have already put other micro sdcards in the adapter and they work perfectly.
I have a lot of precious stuff on the micro sdcard so if there is a way to fix it without wiping everything, I'd be really happy to hear it.
Will give the person who answered best thanks in all of their last 15 posts.
Maybe try disk manager on your PC and see what format is says the card is..
otherwise try the phone again and again hopefully it will work. Ive had that before and a combination of playing with disk manager and the phone I managed to get the stuff off my card

i would try inserting it into your phone several times to try to get it to catch..also reboot phone while card is inserted..if you have to format the card you can still get everything off of it by using a program like "recuva" .. ive used it many times and it works like a charm..nothing is ever erased on a sd card..its only overwritten..so as long as you havent overwritten anything on the card you can easily get it back..formatting will not overwrite anything
Connect your card to pc, open mini partition tool wizard. Click on your memory in program and next open.
I tried putting the sdcard back into my phone several times and always didn't work . I went onto diskmanager and see screenshot below for info (it's g/ drive). I then tried formatting with various settings and always got a failure see second screenshot.

Hey. Thanks for the reply, I installed that program but it confuses me. How do i access my sdcard with it?
My sdcard is not partitioned or used for swap or anything.
Oh and I've tried formatting with exfat, fat, fat32 and NFTS and always fails
Do you see your sd card in this program? If yes try wipe volume
I checked your screens and your card is RAW- file system is broken or is unknown to the windows , try this:
1
close ALL your programs, insert your sd card to your computer and ONLY WAIT,(15 min.) do nothing, dont touch mouse (weird? yes but your computer will try to repair file system, fot 2gb is less 5-10 minutes, but your is 8 gb class???, that wait more)
2 (optional, but you should try 3 point)
Format your sd with windows installerr (format it during window installation using windows setup disc) you can cancell instalation after format without probles
3
If still nothing (after 25 minutes) try this program http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/index.html - IT IS LAST OPTION WITHOUT SPEND MONEY
Tell me if it worked.
