How to flash original bootloader in Google ion? - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

Hi all,
I am a newbie in this forum. Right after I got my Google ion at the Google IO, I bricked it trying to install hard_spl.. It was too late to find out that the version of hard_spl at the time wouldn't work with the google ion/sapphire..
Does anyone know a place that would flash my phone with the original booloader? or the device that i can use to do that?
and naturally I'll be needing the original booloader? i don't know if i can extract that from another google ion..
Thanks for the help in advance..
Dogan

http://developer.htc.com/google-io-device.html
has the original io device files.hope this helps

Thanks a lot..
I didn't know HTC was taking any responsibility for this device.. Maybe I can get them to fix it for a reasonable fee.

Well in short.they will!
I put the dream hspl on my phone and bricked it. From thereon all it would do is flash the led red when i held power..
I told them that my phone wouldnt update so i downloaded the update from the internet, then did the update procedure now it wont turn on. Also said i wanted to pay to get it fixed (as i thought i would) they arranged a courier collected next day (free) repaired it (free) and sent it back (free) had no charges sent to me.
Just act pretty dumb and dont mention xda-developers/any other site like this

Bad ROM update: is my Tornado dead?

Greetings... It's been only two days since I've bought my HTC Tornado (T-Mobile SDA). After unlocking it, I tried uploading different ROMs (i-mate SP5m, Cingular 2125, etc), just to find the one that suits me. Anyway, I found this T-Mobile SDA II ROM and without a second thought, I uploaded it to my phone. I didn't realize than this ROM was for the HTC Hurricane. After the "successful" upload, the phone went off! Now it does not boot at all, the battery does not seem to charge, I'm not even able to launch the three-colour bootloader screen (camera button + usb plug).
Can I upload a new ROM? Is there a way to recover my phone?
If the flashing stated it was successful then it should be. Try other fully charged battery.
Thank you for your quick answer. The battery was fully charged when I flashed the phone. Unfortunately, I found out that the "bad" ROM that I uploaded was for the HTC Hurricane phone!!! Is there anything I can do right now? Is it recoverable?
you *might* be able to recover with a SD card image, not sure
just connect your phone to the computer, turn it on, and immediately run a PROPER rom update for it, you might be able to get it back.
i did the same with a tornado rom on a SP3i (typhoon) and managed to get it back after a few tries
good luck
The problem is that I cannot turn my phone on. The phone seems completly dead. Just like having no battery installed (which btw is fully charged). I can't get to the bootloader (RGB) screen. Is it possible to use a SD card image? If I won't be able to update the rom, do you know if the HTC support can do it or should I throw my phone away?
dead is dead!
if the phone is under warranty , it should be no problem to get new one!
I didn't know that Hurricane can stop a Tornado ..well maybe it was just the end, and yes, if it still has warranty, use it.
Please observe Silence for 2 mins.

this is exactly why i get the jitters everytime i flash my phone... i'd rather do a hard reset. i'll only flash ONLY if it comes to it, when it comes to it; and if there's a new rom worth it (like the wm6 rom the geniuses are making here... can't wait 'til the 'alpha' comes out ^_^)

don't take it as a joke, and if i send to HTC?
Who's joking?
If that is the case, you might need to change the corrupted ROM chip, and usually they will change the whole mainboard, which is very expensive, not worth to repair
They asked about 600€ for the repaid, so I bought a new one (380€) and sold the broken one for spare parts.
600 EUROS for repair ? In my country, that is 4200 bucks, enough to buy a brand new O2 XDA FLAME.
A new one for 380 EURO ? You can get HTC Hermes with that amount in my country,
The repair cost in my country will definitely be lower than 100€, why not send it to me via courier, and see how much would HTC repair it here
yeah, sell it for parts and save up for the htc advantage ^_^

I have spv, but processor is OMAP710. Is for somebody spv (Canary or Tanager) his phone with OMAP5910 processor???
I read here: http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/HTC_Tanager
OMAP5910 datasheet: http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/omap5910.pdf
Tornado have a 10 pin jtag connector!!!
You can find it possibly the jtag points with this software, http://www.c3a.de/wiki/index.php/JTAG_Finder
and with this hardware: http://www.xilinx.com/support/programr/jtag_cable.pdf
You must find TRST, TDI, TCK, and TRST must pull up VDD with ~200R resistor.
Good luck!
Great info, Dibi. Thanks!!! Although I have sold my "brick" for parts, many unlucky guys will find this information useful to revive their phones.

Got My Speakers Messed Up ! Please Help !

Since yesterday to today out of no where my speakers started to make a really annoying voice sounding like the speakers just got blown out. And I spoke to T-Mobile and they said that they will probably will replace my phone since the phone is under htc warranty. But my big question is that I would like to ask you guys if I have to put the phone back to manufacter format since I am using thoses modified JF modified OS's. In other words, by using JF's OS, would that cancel my original warranty ?!

the easiest way to do it would be to downgrade to RC29 with the DREAIMG.NBH and then flash the original t-mo theme and boot image(if you changed it), and lastly install the original boot loader
theme:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468436&highlight=original+theme
boot screen:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=456071
RC29:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480
boot loader:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=455860
do them in that order and you will be fine, if you have any other questions PM me and i'd be glad to help
omg thank you so much ! i really i appreciate ur help
Edit: I just called T-Mobile right now and they are replacing the phone within 7 days so i am holding on to restoring back the phone when ever i get the box....
but i still appreciate ur help and im adding this to my bookmarks so i can use it in the future.
no problem at all, i was once a n00b and asked questions all the time, now i try to find threads needing help and see what i can do, when i'm not taking apart my devices or creating themes that is.

Kaiser dead after flash

My friend gave me a HTC Kaiser. He tried to upgrade it (i do not kdow details), everything looked fine, the process turned to 100% and he was happy that it will end with success, but that not happened. Kaiser turned off and now is dead, totally dead - i can not get to bootloader, no LED flashes... But he assured me that everything was 100% working before this flash.
What I can do? I totally have no idea. Thank you
he probably flashed it with a rom that wasnt designed for your kaiser post what rom he tried to upgrade with on here and then maybe someone will be able to help.
If it wasnt a kaiser rom, then he has bricked it and all you can do is sell it for spares
I have sent him an email where I ask which ROM it was. What i already know, that it was "upgrade" (as he said, so maybe to 6.1??) from HTC.com.
I hope he will answer asap with details about ROM.
Now he answered, that it was only official upgrade to wm 6.1 from htc.com which is available to download
but was it an official htc device or a rebranded device i.e. o2 stellar? As i am sure that they wont like being flashed with a rom that is not specifically designed for them
It is Htc Kaiser, not a branded version...
I have no clue what's wrong... why it is not working...
Well i Would try getting another battery and see if that makes it spring into life. If not then maybe you should see if your friend is lying about what he actually flashed as i have neve heard of anybody bricking a htc phone with a stock rom.
when I try to recharge it, it goes a little warm (battery) after some time - as is normal on every device. But this doesn't mean anything.
I'll try another battery, as you've said and we'll see...
Or I will try to send it in service... I hope it will not be expensive... i have no idea about prices...
And I hope my friend is not lying...

I doubt it's the battery, and if your friend says he flashed an official htc rom and now bricked...sounds like he was flashing different roms without hard spl or a rom not designated for kaiser or both and trying to get some easy money from you; official roms don't brick. If you can't even get into bootloader to flash a fix; I'd suggest your friend is a **** for selling you a brick n get your money back

Thanks
does any one have an idea about JTAG for kaiser

[Q] I cant find anywhere to get my phone fixed can someone help please?

Hi guys,
I have Samsung Galaxy S i9000 I'll cut to the chase I flashed it with ODIN one click for the AT&T Captivate. "Yes I am numpty"
I've looked but I can't find anyone in the UK that repairs bad flashes of this type.
Is it time to bin it and buy a new phone or is there anyone out there that I can pay to get this repaired please?
if you need any further details about the phone please ask.
Kindest regards,
stanneh.
While I dont know where you could get help for that problem...if possible I'm sure someone here at xda could help?
Think of this as a learning experience and be careful of what you put on your phone and be sure to do some prep reading before doing so. While I'm no expert at this stuff, I figured that was the least I could do before rooting my g2 and oc'ing it.
Good luck getting it fixed btw!
A little update for you all.
I gave Samsung UK a call and was straight up with them told them exactly what I had done.
well I did say I had no idea what I was doing but acknowledged that what I have done voids the warranty and offered to pay any fee's to get the phone repaired.
The man on the phone was very kind and said they will repair it under warranty for me and that I have to take it in to a Carphone warehouse store in Cardiff UK to get it repaired.
I will keep you all up to date on how that goes.
Regards,
Stanneh.
Is your phone dead? does it turn back on to the recovery mode or download mode?
Hi,
No its not dead but the boot loader it has now is from another phone.
I flashed it with ODIN One Click my bad but I'm not the only numpty to have done it.
After reading many forum posts there's a few of us who did this and currently there is no way to recover it.
I just took it to the Carphone Warehouse service centre they were unable to restore it there so they have sent it back to Samsung to be repaired.
I imagine it going to cost me and I don't mind paying for my mistake.
Regards,
Stanneh.
Hi again,
Just a quick update!
So I took my phone back to the Carphone Warehouse and they had to send it off as the couldn't correct the issue in house.
I had an email the next evening to say my phone was fixed and ready to be picked up at the store. When I got there they pulled out the same phone Identifiable by markings and it was fixed!! I don't know if they put a new motherboard in there or just managed to flash it back but it took all of two days for them to do it and it was all done for free under warranty.
I have since rooted the phone just fine.
Before I bricked it I had rooted it and used OCLF to format it with ext2 which worked awesome the speed was unbelievable but I hear with the Android 2.3 update they are changing to the ext4 file system anyway I am just going to wait for that now. I just don't want to take any more risks.
For the record the initial bricking of my phone was when I decided to install Voodoo just for the audio features but it never booted after that I think because I had ext2 file system from OCLF?
but that was the start of the problem then I was a numpty and used Odin one click to try and recover the phone and then totally bricked it with the AT&T loop.

[Q] Help - Phone won't turn on

Hello Guys, this is my first post on this site, I have tried my best to search this forum for answers. Admittedly I found some posts that were similar but I do not think they will solve this issue, I am requesting some help please.
I am completely new to Android phones as well
Last week I purchased a used HTC ONE X from Amazon, that was claimed to be unlocked (international) version from AT&T. Since I am in the Caribbean and out of AT&T's data reach I was forced to use another carrier. Because of this I am unable to update my phone from the settings tab. After doing some reading I stumbled across this site:
/HTC_One_X%E2%84%A2_for_AT%26T_ROM_Update_|_3.07.2013
That had instructions to update the phone from a provided RUU. Well I downloaded and installed that, and everything went completely fine until the ending of the RUU installation. Now my phone wont turn on (LCD) and no LED. All that happens is it getting connected to the USB but the driver reads QHSUB_DLOAD.
I am completely sorry if I am tying this forum up because this question has been answered, but I'd really like someone (Anyone) to walk me through a fix if it is even possible?
Should I also add that nothing was done to the phone before this happened ; No attempts to hack the phone or anything were made.
Thanks in advance guys.

It's a brick, your best bet will be to try and contact HTC for a replacement. Most likely it was hacked before and the person who sold it did not take into account or didn't know what would happen if one were to run the update after having rooted/unlocked it.
If HTC won't replace it, you can do a JTAGG which is a service that will retore your phone.
There is an unbrick evita thread that describes steps to take to TRY to unbrick the phone but from what I know, no one who has bricked from that method has been able to restore it.
Here's the link for your reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1966850
If the phone was used, it may have been hacked (as mentioned in the response above) to be SuperCID. As running the RUU while SuperCID and S-on results in a brick, per my post in General: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181929
If the phone is new, and bone stock, its fully possible that the RUU just randomly bricked the device. Its not "common", but has happened to a small number of folks. In this case, I would reach out to the seller and explain the situation. Depending on the seller's policies, they may or may not help you out. But for example, if the phone was purchased direct form AT&T in the US, AT&T would replace the phone in this circumstance (RUU caused brick).
Qualcomm download mode (QHSUB_DLOAD) caused by RUU really has no fix aside from JTAG (or replacement). You can try the unbricking thread (as previously mentioned). But I don't think anybody has come back from this particular brick circumstance.
