[ATTN] Att warranty repair just got in........... - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Just thought i would spread the word for all you Fuze guys that are waiting to exchange for a Tilt 2 that ATT warranty has now just under 400 Tilt 2's in for warranty replacement. if you want it now jump on it fast.

Do you guys call this number 1-800-222-3111 or go into a store? I am suffering from the softkey peeling off and now the softkeys aren't working correctly. Hopefully they don't consider it misuse.

you mean hard keys not soft keys. softkeys are on screen and hard keys are physical buttons. you can try calling 1-800-801-1101. they told me to go to an att service center. but they did replace mine. it wont work with it coming up, it throws off the capacitance. thats prolly why they are replacing them instead of yelling physical damage. if they dont replace it then you can take the laminate completely off yourself. itll start working again with the laminate off. i hear wd40 will get the glue from under the laminate to unstick.

call the number posted above. all information was confirmed by a member at ATT. They do not have them in the walk in warranty stores yet but through call center is your best bet.

So I called Warranty support about, say 20 minutes after this post went up and they say: "Tilt 2?" No sir, we don't have any of those! What is that, "Tilt 2" is that a new phone? So I end up getting another Fuse (not a a bad phone at all, but when I traded my buggy as hell Samsung Epix for the Fuse, they told me the same crap!) Someone has bad info, and I suspect that its the AT&T Reps I am talking to, this guy didn't even make an inquiry on his system, just said, "No, we don't have any of those"
Of course I can't call him a liar, if I want something from him, and I don't want to say " I heard..." since they don't like that crap.
Question: When they gave me the trade to Fuze, they said it was a one shot deal, no going back to Epix, not other trades, but do folks think if I convince them that I was not given the opportunity to get a Tilt 2, when I should have been.... aw hell, you know how it is, a guy's gotta at least TRY!
Anyone have a suggestion?

They have the tilt 2 in stock right now. I know three people who ordered theirs today. Call now.

They didnt offer me the tilt 2 either. I just kept asking and telling them I want a tilt 2. Other people are getting them why not me. The guy was like alright ill send one.

I got two replacement fuzes

on your 3rd replacement they should give you the option for a different phone. that is company policy. They will always try to give you a downgrade but i make them read the specs of the fuze then the Tilt2 and say see they are the same phone just the tilt 2 actually works. LOL

Sprint Touch Pro 2

I have seen several posts on xda and ppcgeeks about the tp2 hitting sprint on the 25th, and its mostly brushed off as more rumor hype... which I understand with Sprint. I had a Curve forever, waiting for the Tour, and gave up for the Touch Pro. (Good decision, I laughed at the Tours browser when I saw it.)
Anyhow, a Sprint rep (ya ya I know) on the phone tried very discreetly to tell me that in two weeks would be a great time to go looking for the TP2. I just played stupid and said Tmobile had a newer version of my phone and I wanted to know if Sprint got it. They said no announcement, I said well I'm gonna go ahead and get the Tmobile one then, and the guy repeatedly said not to "do anything just yet" and to " call back intwo weeks and I'ld have better luck. I said forget that, does that mean they'll know a date then or what? And he said no no, no date, just CALL BACK. He said they will do major advertising too though, which isn't really what TP had, and with the pre getting mentioned every time you push a key on customer service, thats suspect. Anyway, just passing word.
I'm about to burn the sprint store down if they don't tell me something soon.
My TP is looking its age, and I hate how fat it is, and I want a bigger screen.
Is anyone else majorly dissappointed its not WM7 ready, and doesnt have a 3.5 jack on it though? Figure that new HD will.

The general consensus is that the TPII won't be available in the US until later in the fall. I suspect that The big Sprint news is that they will announce " officially " that the TPII will be available later on this fall.
i may be wrong, but i think i remember tmo stating theirselves it was to deny the g consensus.

Confirmed: HTC selling/giving away stock Nexus One accessories (Android sleeve?)

I don't know if this is true or not, but I read a post on HoFo today that said HTC is now equipped to sell original accessories for the Nexus One including the original Android sleeve that ships with the phone.
If you want to give it a shot, the number to HTC's accessory sales department is 1-888-716-3594. I tried calling them today, but they were already closed. I'd call again tomorrow, but I work during their same business hours. For those interested please post if you find out whether or not we can order replacement sleeves instead of haggling with other XDA members for each others.
I called to price out a replacement battery and they took my info and said they would either email or call me with pricing information and could take my order at that point.
What are the chances they're selling the mythical car dock?
(I'm kidding, I assume we'd have heard about it from Google if it was ready).

first rep. denied my request coz i told her it was my fault my left earpiece came off. DAMN IT!!!! i hate being so honest!
the next day i called again and told the other rep. my headset was defective. THIS TIME I LIED! the rep then processed my request and sent me a new pair. FOR FREE

What do you mean you were ready to buy??? You just admitted you called in, and chose to lie, to trick them into thinking it was a warranty replacement and send it in for free just so you could save a few dollars on your $500 phone... wow.... what a new level of low.... congratulations to you... I guess my feeling is pitty?
And just for the record, THEY ARE NOT GIVING IT FOR FREE... if it is a factory deffect with yours, then you are entitled to a replacement/fix... it isnt that they are choosing some people, based on what you tell them, to get a free pair...
What happens is that because of ppl abusing the system (i.e. like you) these companies get fed up and make crappy obstacles that genuine users with genuine problems need to jump through in order to get genuine support...

His earbuds were BROKEN and they wouldn't replace them knowing he did it so he didn't have much of a choice but to tell them it was a factory defect...It's one thing if you truly broke them and it your just getting them to get them..
Frankly if the guy's willing to buy them but unable to, which is the case right now, I agree with his "white lie" approach. It's not like he's trying to get a second set as a backup or something... i.e. he's not abusing anything here.
like i said i did not go for the sleeve. i have my sleeve my earphone on the other hand broke. so i was gonna BUY a pair but the rep said they DONT sell them IDK why but if it was defective they will send out a pair.
i like the stock headphones. mine broke and i was looking to buy a pair.
how the hell did i abuse htc? coz i lied? i didnt mind paying for headphones but this is the only option to get the stock headphones. call htc and try to buy one they will tell you what they told me. they dont sell them right now. and there is no way of buying one. its not my fault if they are too slow with providing accessories for sale.
i was just sharing my experience with costumer support. and if you got the wrong ideas then you got problems buddy.

Called HTC a week ago asking if they were selling any factory oem batteries & sleeves yet... they took my IMEI number and said they'd get back to me...
Never heard from them but 5 days later a brand new factory oem battery and sleeve was sitting in my mailbox!

Giving away my HTC Fuze

First off I hope this is in the correct section, I figured it was an appropriate place as any. I lurked around the Touch Pro section for a while (in fact xda-developers was the reason I purchased the Fuze in the first place) and have had a great time playing around with custom ROMS and apps for the device.
I went back to an old Nokia device a while ago because I wasn't really using data at all, but now I'm moving to Sprint to get the Evo 4G and this Fuze is still laying around, unused.
It's in great condition, almost perfect I would say, and I'll throw in the charger and whatnot if you would like.
I'd like to give it to someone from this community who needs or can make use of it. Just post a quick reason why you would like it and within a couple days I'll decide who to send it to.

Well I would like to have your phone, since my TP has an awful ghosting on the screen which makes the screen really hard to read sometimes, but if there are other people that can make better use of it (like ROM developers) they of course have a better reason for getting it than me ^,^

Thats a very generous offer. I do not intend of keeping my Fuze much longer personally as I am growing annoyed with microsoft. But i have yet to find any android based phone i like (Aside from the Droid, but i despise Verizon).
Unfortunately, my Fuze has a defective touch screen. My original Fuze never had working wifi, which was then replaced under insurance with a refurbished phone. This phone is great and all, except for the loose keyboard and faulty touch screen.
When i draw a line across the screen with my stylus in notepad, you can see the line curve and go under or above the dead zone, very freaky and annoying. Most likey if you are willing to give it to me, mine would be given to my soon-to-be fiance as she is leaving her host family (au pair) and will have no phone.

I don't know if you know me, but I'm Captain_Throwback, a Mod here, and also a Raphael chef. I've been having issues with my Fuze of late, and fortunately, since I have insurance on my device, I was able (just yesterday) to get a Tilt 2 as a replacement for my device. Unfortunately, that means I can longer produce Raphael ROMs for my loyal ROM users, and I'd really hate to stop doing that - it's been quite a process getting my Kitchen together (3 times now), and putting together ROMs that are stable and to my liking. The insurance company claims "right of salvage" on any replaced devices, so unless I want to pay full retail for the Tilt 2, I have to return my Fuze to them. So, it was suggested that I post in this thread for a shot at having another Fuze, so that I can continue cooking for this great community, and update my ROM which is over a month old, at this point.
I have a few dollars in my Paypal account, so I wouldn't mind covering shipping costs, and throwing a few extra dollars in there for it as well, since I understand the device isn't free. But I'm sure (as the above poster noted) there's someone who needs it more than me.
I'm sorry to hear that you never got the full potential out of your Fuze (perhaps you should've flashed my ROM on it ), but I'm sure someone here will give it a good home, and make sure that it gets used well. Happy choosing!

Over the weekend my touch screen just completely stopped working and i have not idea why, i contacted at&t for insurance replacement but they arent helping me at all, since i bought it from newegg with a service plan through at&t theres some confusion about the insurance and i think i got really screwed. long story short they wont help me unless i renew my 2 year agreement and newegg cant do anything either. im inclinded to fix it myself but im pretty broke with other expenses so im completely phoneless until i can figure something out. ive already flashed back to the stock rom and checked the cable to the lcd and that seems to be whats wrong but to get a new cable id have to order it from hong kong and that seems like the least desirable option, going 4 weeks with no phone would be terrible for me. ive got other stuff on my plate but i dont want this to turn into a total sob story, if theres any way i can get some help i would be ecstatic. id throw whatever money ive got towards it as well

sorry man but im not a butthole, im pretty screwed right now, i can upload a video with a time stamp of me trying to calibrate the phone because thats as far as i can get since i flashed it back to stock trying to fix it.

i'd like to make a suggestion.
while Captin_Throwback is hard to ignore on this (rom maker and all) i would like to suggest donating your fuze to the hard workers developing android on our devices. i'm sure they would like to have another for when nand testing starts and whatnot.

[Q] I just broke my triumph's screen!

I know I messed up by not getting the 5 dollar insurance. I sure am pissed of at myself now. To make matters worse I purchased my triumph on Ebay. lol. Does any cellphone repair store deal with these phones already, I might have to check sometime this week But is there any website where maybe I can purchase a gorilla glass screen replacement. I would gladly take on the repair challenge myself. Thanks everyone! Hopefully someone can help and I would greatly appreciate it!
(Edit) A nice VM chick allowed me to get it insured, surprisingly I still had time. If anyone wants to ill open it up for sure when I receive my new one.... for science!!!

I believe BB only warrants the phone usually for 30 days, I'm not to sure. Regarding VM as soon as you sign up, you often receive a text that lets you add on insurance for 5 extra dollars. GET IT!! Because as of now my best hope is to just go to a random repair shop and see if they can even fix it.

http://imgur.com/a/fMIeG Here ya go! Basically the touchscreen still functioned but about 80% of the top screen was not working at all. Then the battery died and it did not want to take a charge anymore. Basically both issues are unrelated it just so happens that Motorola really rushed this thing, and you can tell what a terrible job they did looking at the whole sub-forum. I wish I would have avoided spending 300 bucks and would have grabbed the Optimus V instead, I never hear anything bad about it. And being a college student I cant afford a 100$ monthly plan.
(EDIT) Really looking at this, I don't even know if the glass broke or if the touchscreen did. I don't feel anything on the outside. You guys are the experts, I will gladly open it up for you guys if you want. I just need to buy those tiny screwdrivers.

I thought I read somewhere that VM warrants their phones for a year, no matter where you buy them. I could be wrong, and it could be for manufacturer's defects only. I'll look for the link when I get home.

Yeah...there it is. The worst that can happen is they laugh at you...but what have you got to lose at this point? Maybe they can at least ship you a heavily discounted one...you never know.

Well if all else fails you can always try and repair it your self.
It might cost a bit since some of the newer phones are coming with the lcd and the glass as one unit...
I might be wrong and only need to purchase the glass...

I'll eventually find a way to fix it. The good thing about it being prepaid is I can stop paying anytime without penalties. Thank you so much for being a kind person and wishing me good luck!
(Ninja Edit) I just called VM and this nice chick allowed me to get it insured. I'm feeling a bit better now... (I'll claim it as lost or something)

Not that it bothers me either way - I'm actually glad someone helped you out, BUT, couldn't this be considered a form of insurance fraud?

Not true. I bricked my optimus v. So iread into the wack tech deal and it covers power surges. So i threw it into the microwave for ten seconds...150 off my new triumph! (The plans for two years btw)

I just started paying for this phone this month, she said I still had another week left actually, Had I waited more she said she would not have been able to help me.

Just remember that if you claim it as lost, you'll have a $100 deductible. Here's the VM claim site:

You know.. I'm sick and tired of these loops I'm put through, I'm transferred to the wrong company by AT&T where I had been at least talking to an English fluent speaking woman, who understood everything that I said... yet she transfers me to Premier when I said I placed my claim through Asurion....
Anyways... has anyone ever had a package confirmed to be delivered by FedEx yet there is no package?
I am having this problem now... I have had several mail packages sent to my house and had not had any of them stolen... is it possible that this is the first one? Which happens to be my 200$ replacement phone?
I am just at a loss guys, I am getting no help and I can't just lose $200 I mean, it is possible but please God help me I am a poor man. I'm still in College, I don't have the money or a job to easily get a phone like this...
I sent my brand new phone in with a cracked screen for a possible refurb (new outer skin same old board inside) without a problem... I get my first replacement here no problem for $109, next is bumped to $199 ok... I'll deal with that I really like this phone...

I called FedEx to confirm that they had in fact delivered the phone but I wasn't there to receive the follow up conversation, I was using my mothers phone... she didn't say much she said "Sorry Call AT&T" I don't know what that means... I just can't get my mind off this...

Most likely, you got screwed. AT&T is more likely to assume that you actually have the device, but are claiming to not have it to make money off of it.
Most you can do is cancel your service from AT&T, and the least is try and try and try to talk to someone at AT&T to get a new phone.
Like you said, you pretty much wasted $200...

Hey Guys! Great news...
I finally got to Asurion, it took about 4 different people to transfer me to a resolutions department...
They are sending out another one, long as it is in the same condition as the previous one that they had sent, I am happy. by previous I mean the first one that I had actually received.
I told them to terminate the other phone so the bastards can't use it. I only wish I could have done the same to my original second Infuse stolen on Campus.
Looks like I didn't lose $200.00 bucks, for a poor man this a great day
