Hope it helps,

check out for the program 'USBdeview' and run it. It allows to correctly unistall any previous driver, then reboot, connect the g1 with the cable, choose 'manual install' and put on those, they will do the job fine

make sure USB Debugging is enabled (Useful for ADB Commands)

Belated Help
Firstly, remove both the SIM card and any memory card. Make sure your battery is charged as well. Can you get into the bootloader (Light button, on/off button and reset button all at the same time)?
If so then your screen should be showing 'Serial' at the top and a number at the bottom. Plug the cable into the XDA and into your PC (it IS a PC and not an iMac I'm assuming?). What OS are you using? XP, Vista or 7?
You need to ensure that 'connect via USB' is DE-SELECTED in either activesync or Windows mobile device centre.
With the cable plugged in, the 'serial' should change to 'USB'. If so all is good. If not, try another cable!
You may also need to ensure you have the correct drivers loaded for Vista and Win 7. I can't get it to work under Win 7 but I can under Vista. XP is preferred for stability for me though.
Now, assuming you have USB on the XDA screen, run mtty (attached to this post) and select usb as the connection type.
Then press enter and you should get a 'USB>' command prompt in the window on the PC. Type (not copy paste) the following:
set 14 0 <press return - don't type this bit obviously!>
Task 28 55aa <press return - don't type this bit obviously!>
Allow each to finish before typing the next and allow the command prompt to appear before exiting.
Then exit mtty and flash a good ROM, I use VNInt with HomeScreenPlus.
Good Luck!

who can help me.It makes me crazy.
Simple mistake. It's possible that everyone may have had this problem before.
It's a Device Partnership Error.
I'll help you with the easiest way to fix this(in my opnion).
1.) Unplug your Device from your PC
2.) Download & Install CCleaner HERE
3.) Uninstall Windows Mobile Device Center/Active Sync from your PC
4.) Run CCleaner (Run the Windows Cleanup & Registry Cleanup [FIX EVERYTHING])
5.) Restart your computer
6.) Download & Install Windows Mobile Device Center/Active Sync
7.) Soft-Reset your phone
8.) Plug in your Phone during its boot-up
Reply with results.

[Q] usb serial driver

Where can i download a free serial usb driver for windows smartphone?
What do you want to do? Serial interface is already included via Bluetooth (incoming and outgoing port) - not sure about USB, despite AS connection in "not enhanced mode (RNDIS)" is said to be "serial" as well.
I need the driver to connect my smartphone to a new pc via usb. My old pc crashed recently and i wasnt able to backup any software. Also, ive lost the cd which came with the phone and i dont know where to get a replacement.
You need a driver for the PC, not on the device. I have no experience with new OS, only Win XP. What happens when you connect the device via USB to the new PC?
My os is winxp. When i connect to the pc it says "found new hardware generic serial" then it brings the found new hardware wizard . I cant continue since i dont have the recquired driver on a removable disk or anywhere on the pc.my phone is spv c600
You need to install Active Sync first on your PC. This should install also all needed drivers for the device to connect. Look here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...34-6f7f-404d-a04b-dc09f8141141&displayLang=en
I have already installed activesync 4.5 but i didnt see it install any drivers.
Is WinXP on the latest Service Pack (SP3 I think) and does it have all Microsoft patches installed afterwards?
AS install should put the drivers to the repository for later install when needed - it will not install the drivers right away. Why don't you let the driver's install look for the drivers in the internet - I don't remember any similar problems on my PC.
Search Microsoft for USB serial driver and RNDIS driver for XP if install does not get it for you automatically.
Oh! It has dected the phone. I reinstalled it while the device was connected to the pc and it worked . thanx so much

Laptop won't recognize phone.

For some reason my laptop doesn't read my phone, works on my pc fine but i'm trying to fix it for my laptop. My phone only charges, can't access the files. My USB configuration is set to MTP, it defaults to Charging only but even if i switch it back and forth it does not work, thanks in advance for any help.
If you're on Marshmallow, swipe down from the top of the phone screen, press the USB notification, and change the selection from "charging only" to "file transfer".
Or do you mean that even when you do this (your description isn't clear) the laptop still can't see the phone? In that case, it'll be a driver problem. Install Wugfresh's Nexus Root Toolkit on the laptop and use the "Install & Test Drivers" button to set your laptop drivers up.
Okay I installed the root toolkit that you speak of but I don't see any "Install & Test Drivers" button. Unless you are talking about the "Full Driver Installation Guide" but that doesn't work because it can't recognize my phone.
Yes, "full driver installation guide".
I'm not trying to be funny, but you do get that the point of this is to get your laptop to recognise your phone, right...?
Yes I get that but I don't think you understand what I am trying to say. When following the installation guide I can't get past step 2 because it requires feedback from the phone, but it's still not being recognized thus making the process moot. The only time my laptop recognizes my phone is everytime I restart the phone, for a few seconds while the phone is loading I get an error of "unknown device found" on my laptop. When I try to manually update the "unknown device's" drivers, it says they are up to date. Even when I have the new google drivers on my desktop and point to it. Sorry it's late and I am half asleep, hope I am making some sense.
You've tried different USB cables and USB ports?
Is the phone recognized in fastboot or recovery mode?
Yes I have tried different cables but the issue is not with the cable nor my phone because I can just go onto my brother's pc and it recognizes immediately. It's just my laptop, and no it is not recognized in fastboot nor recovery mode.
Maybe it has something to do with the OS in the laptop?
No win7 64 bit for both, I know it's driver related but I just don't know what to do to fix it.
I've told you what to do... it's worked for me many times on a number of laptops, and on Windows 7.
If part 1 of the driver setup process didn't work, go back and do it again, following the instructions exactly to the letter, no shortcuts - i.e. when it says "reboot" then reboot, don't think "Nah, I don't need to do that."
Try deleting all existing drivers and reinstall.
I use the naked USB drivers on a win7 x64 laptop and desktop.

Can't connect to PC

Can't connect my 2 XL and 3 XL(both pie august update) to PC(Windows 10). They only charge. There is no notification. Nothing in Device Manager on Windows 10.
I've tried:
Different laptops
Different cables
Different ports
USB Debugging
USB Configuration(All of them and connecting)
USB 2.0 and 3.0
Can anyone please help.
Thank you!
Sometimes my Android phones would not be recognised if there were some old Android phone drivers installed. So I had to remove old drivers in the Windows settings and let Windows automatically reinstall drivers when plugging in my phone again.
Don't know if this is the right direction also for you, as in your case literally nothing is working, but you still could give it a shot.
Instructions on how to uninstall a driver In Windows can be found here:
https://www.pcworld.com/article/246041/how-to-uninstall-drivers-in-windows.html
Just look out for a device name that could match Android phones. For example 'MTP device' or 'ADB device' or something, and uninstall those drivers, and then plug in your phone in 'File Transfer Mode' again and see if something changes.
Hope this helps.
windows 10 and it's drivers and updates are too buggy! Please use linux live USB, doot from it on your PC and try connecting your phone to it. I am sure that will work and issue is in your OS and not in your phone
