Email and Internet working at the same time - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hi,
I have flashed quite a few roms to my Touch Pro but my most recent update has led to me being only able to have either internet or email but not both at the same time.
I use T-Mobile in the UK.
If I change the change the connectivity settings between T-Mobile PictureMessaging and T-Mobile Internet I can either download my email or use the internet but not both.
Any suggestions?

Please help wi Pro B4 I return it.

Hi folks,
Please can someone help.
I got my new Pro on Friday and it really is a nice phone. I am on T-Mobile UK and subscribe to web n walk plus.
Like others in the forum the signal strengh is [email protected] wi T-Mobile yet put sim in any other phone and it's fine.
OK, my problem. The phone configured itself to T-Mobile and setup picture message and gprs/3g settings. I can browse net on phone via pocket IE or Opera.
Now if I try to sign in via Windows Live to get my email or configure Activesync to our companies mail server I get the G and flashing arrow but then the program I'm trying to use says it cant find an internet connection.
Switch on WiFi and go through that and it's fine. Take sim out and put it in my cooked Trinity P3600 running Diamond 3.1 on win mobile 6.1 and everything works. I've tried my sim in a T-Mobile branded Diamond and it works.
I've tried various locations, one being 6 feet away from the cell to no avail. Tried my work sim in it (also T-Mobile) and same happens so what can I do to get it to work.
Connection setup as T-Mobile Internet. Cellular Line (gpgs, 3G), general.t-mobile.uk, username T-mobile password one2oneuser.
Can anyone help.
Thanks.
John
I had the exact same problem. The Auto-Config wizard thing has changed slightly and now seems to set up the connection with the usage of a proxy server.
You need to uncheck this and all will be well. Don't return that sucker just yet!

Thanks mate,
I have unticked the box but will need to wait for T-Mobile signal to come back before I can test it. Why is this phone soooo poor with T-Mobile. I get 3 bars on my Trinity at home.

Hrm, I have noticed a slight drop in reception compared to my Kaiser but it's not that bad where I am. I am in London though so I guess coverage is pretty good. Also, I have noticed GPS reception is a little off too compared to the Kaiser. I'm thinking as some more ROMs start appearing with new Radios we will see some improvements. It depends if you are willing to wait or not. The device itself is great, there's no doubting that. Give it time. I am sure things will get better.
Ok, unticking allows work email to work but I cant get Windows Live to work.
Looking at the settings on my old Trinity it has the proxy set.
Thanks,
John
That's weird.
It's all working perfectly here, on T-Mo too (UK).

Proxy settings Touch Pro Vodafone branded

Hello,
I have the following issue.
I have an hosted exchange email account, this works with or with proxy server settings for Vodafone Live.No problem!
I have Gmail account(IMAP) this only works without the proxy settings, otherwise it couldn't sync.Problem.
And i need to go to a website(my bank) that needs proxy server setup.Problem.
Conclusion,or i can use a Gmail account on my Touch Pro or going to the banking website and not both.
I am from The Netherlands,Vodafone branded Touch Pro.
Is there a possibility to solve this issue or switch between network with and network without proxy?
Thanks for your help.
i wouldnt recomend online banking over a gprs connection
does your google acount have to be imap if you set the pop forwarding on the google side of things this should work
i sued my vodafone uk tp with my googlemail account no probs
I also can use Gmail with POP3 settings.
The only problem is how to set it up.
Cause when i want to create a new mail account with gmail ,my Touch Pro automatically uses Imap.
How can i change this to Pop?
Thanks
Just disable the proxy... then you can't go to vodafone live website, but you will be able to do everything you want for the rest.
Gewoon die proxy eruitknallen!
Maybe you are right about this, just get rid off the proxy settings.
I also sent a mail to HTC about this,if there is a solution to use both.
U never use the vodafone live... in fact, i have never seen it, so it doesn't bother me at all...
Most of the time i don't use vodafone live.
Just for mobile banking via the Rabobank, this can only by using Vodafone Live(proxy)

Can't you just do it directly (without proxy) on the Rabobank website?
No,that's not possible only via Vodafone Live.
Cause Vodafone Live works with proxy settings for security reasons i think.
Nobody else an idea how i can solve this issue?
Thanks
Opera proxy
Better late than never.
My idea is to disable the standard proxy settings for your connection and setting up a proxy in opera.
So that outlook keeps on working with gmail and you still can use vodafone live etc.
Just tried it and it works for me.

Sudden Network connection problem

Suddenly, I cannot to access functions that require connection to a network.
For example, Bing will not update categories or collections.
Windows update will not connect to the network.
It suggested I check my time and date? ...which are correct.
I can access internet, send and receive email and sms, check and update weather.
Just many things that require network connections do not work.
I'm not sure when this started. I don't remember changing any network settings.
I use T-Mobile in USA
Any ideas what i am missing?

Are you using a proxy?
Are you on the t-zones package? Maybe they are now blocking https (or SSL)?
DJG,
Good questions. When I first got my TP and put sim in, it did automatic setup to T-Mobile settings. I am on unlimited data plan. When checking settings recently, I noticed the APN was set to the WAP.voicestream.com, instead of internet2.voicestream.com. I changed that. I also noticed that This network uses a proxy server was checked, with no proxy name in the box. I tried checking then unchecking this and using it. No difference. Then I tried checking it and adding getmorespeed.voicestream.com. It seems like web browsing is a bit faster (maybe), but this didn't fix the other network access problems.
Could this be a T-Mobile problem, or a problem with my account at T-Mobile?
Do they need to reset anything?

HTC HD2 - Download Email Via Wifi possible??

Hi Guys
I have the HTC HD2 on a T-Mobile contract, now I have recently noticed that T-mobile only allow downloading of email via t-mobile internet on the device, they lock you out of downloading email via a wifi connection.
Is there an open source Wifi app that allows me to choose between wifi and my providers connection when downloading email.
This will come in really useful when going on holiday, otherwise I will get hit by high data charges, which is what I dont want.

The built in "messaging" program lets you download emails in your "messaging" program. So Wi-Fi works.
in e-mail setup, under "advanced server settings", change "network connection" to "the internet"
A more detailed explanation
Check this post here for a step by step how to do this:

HTC HD2 autoselect cellular/wifi email download
Well, this thread has half-way answered my question. However, on my phone (Telstra Next G network) if I use the above solution I can then ONLY download via wifi. I would like my phone to automatically use wifi when possible, and otherwise use cellular. Every other program on the HD2 that uses internet seems capable of this, so why not email? Any solutions?
yes,i learn it......

Same here on Energy TP2 rom... If I sync email through Windows Live, everything works fine. If I click the "Send/receive" through pop-up menu on Sense UI, no GPRS, not works...

email account does not recognise wi-fi

I have a HTC HD2 unit and after setting up my email details it fails to recognise that I am connected via wi-fi at home and work. when ever I try to send/receive it tells me that there is no service. This problem has only started after updating the ROM to 1.72.841.0 (this is the Telstra version as I am in Australia). Telstra have an agreement with HTC to have a number of default settings installed which direct you to use their pay for services. I have been able to bypass most of these.
I have asked my phone service provider to block data services so that my only connection to the internet is via wi-fi at home and work.
I have tried to go to the settings/advanced and set the network to My ISP but still have no result.
I am able to send and receive emails on my work email account as I have installed the certificate required.
Can anyone give me some idea as to how to fix this problem?
I have found a way to resolve my issue
