As a clarification, do they work in donut as well? And with navigator intact? Also, any chance someone can host some of the more important .apk's? Facebook and maps/navigator come to mind.

Really wanted turn-by-turn working. Tried pushing Maps, Dock, CarDock and MotoNav.
Maps works fine
Dock and CarDock are not found in the launcher.
MotoNav starts and asks me to 'Insert your MotoNav SD card.'
Starting to think its more difficult than just pushing some apks

Confirmed: FB & Maps work.
@Marcus: I switched to Cyan's 4.2.x.x Donut & pushed them. They work fine. I haven't tested the nav, but they work atm.

The only one Ive tried is facebook(ran out of time)...maybe we can get a list going of what works?

Maps works in donut (latest CM), but does NOT have navigator. About screen shows version 3.2.0 (#3232). Facebook works fine.

I got the moto personal phone portal to install. Im guessing one has to download the pc software too?!

Just pull the apps out of the DUMP. I am trying it on 2.0 so far they do indeed work.

[APP] Trapster

Hey guys,
My market can't locate "Trapster" anymore. Just installed the [ROM] CyanogenMod 5.0 for Nexus One (EXPERIMENTAL) [01/26/2010 / 5.0-beta2]. No clue if its related or not. I was wondering if someone could pm a link to me or something for the latest apk. Appreciate it.
Cheers.

just because i am interested in what 'trapster' is/does, i tried to find it in the market. it's not there... maybe it has been pulled off the market
(i am using G1, so i don't think it's because of the ROM... availability of apps on the market is not ROM related)
what was trapster doing?

I personally fat fingered it
When posting 1.5.9 last night. Sorry about that. It's back up now. You definitely want 1.5.9 as it solves some power save and FC issues.

Awesome. You guys ROCK!
same problem here on my swapped out G1
I swapped out my G1 phone for a new one and the old one was rooted and running CM7 the new G1 is not rooted yet and is running T-Mobile's Donut 1.6 and I am now unable to find Trapster in the Market, even if I use the QRcode, so I thought Trapster was deleted or removed from the Market by Google until I tried the the online Android Marketplace and it allows me to find Trapster, and shows both my old and new G1 phones but the new unrooted G1 shows "not compatible" and is greyed out preventing me from installing Trapster.
The SOLUTION was to install Amazon Appstore. BAM! Problem solved. Trapster installed with no issues. I signed on with my Trapster account and it is running well.
Trapster haz moar Bacon!
I suppose its nice that you posted a solution to a problem you were having... But this thread is almost 2 years old, and its in a different phone section to the one you had.

Google Buzz Web App only runs on 2.0+...would a build.prop edit make it work on 1.6?

Please dont flame me for this. I know that it's technically in the wrong section but the people who read the Development section are likely to know a bit more about this topic.
Anyway, Google Buzz. It's new, and it's pretty cool. It's built-in to the new version of Maps, but the Web App (buzz.google.com) will only work in Android 2.0 and up. I remember that before Google changed the Maps Navigation back-end, making an edit to the build.prop would make Navigation work on 1.6. So, would something similar work for Buzz?
I'm at school and I have no access to a computer with the SDK on it so I can't get at my build.prop at the moment via ADB. Could somebody test this if they get a chance?
Again...I know that this is technically the wrong section, but please be gentle with me
I think If you modify browser's user agent you could use buzz. I do it with firefox.
BR.
Why would you need to modify your browser to use Buzz...
Just open up Google Maps and it is already built into Maps 4.0, like you said in your msg...
Or do you not want to have to go that extra step?...
I mean yes it would be nice for it to work without having to use Maps, but why make extra work?
It's just a thought....
They are working on it for G1 device. Here: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=3dcfc0961244b5ac&hl=en
Here's the build.prop's if you want to try (warning, you'll also see lwp's in marketplace THESE WILL NOT WORK).

Try the build.prop's I put up earlier. It DOEN'T work in the browser on 1.6 (which is what you want).
Like a few other people have stated. Why aren't you using the new Google Maps? It has Buzz. I've been using it all day. Commenting and posting.

And as he has stated, he wants it in the browser.
Oh ok yeah my bad I corrected myself.
but yeah I dont think its gunna be available for 1.6ers anytime soon. maybe in the future?
The Maps integration does NOT allow you access to all of the Buzz features. It only allows you to post, and comment on other Buzz posts.
AND the Buzz in maps only allows public posts. I don't really care to share location-based status updates to everyone in the world.
It's pretty goofy that the web app doesn't work in the 1.6 browser...REALLY goofy that it doesn't work in CyanogenMod with the backported Eclair browser.
The ROM cookers are doing a great job but it's really annoying that Goog seems to have basically EOL'ed Android 1.x after barely a year of service.
Google Buzz works with Maps 4.0 on cyan 2.x rom but it breaks multi-touch for some reason.
Oh wow...IT WORKS!
Will create a new thread on how to make it work.

Maybe.
Strike the part about it working, though. There appears to be a catch. Just pushing the build.prop enables the web app but causes a Force Close of Maps whenever you try and run Maps.
Testing what happens if you push the build.trout.prop as well right now.
I cant get it to post anything in maps, but then I am running OE1.1.5Beta. got it in the browser though.
I am running 1.6 and all I did was install maps 4.0 from this forum through terminal and then went to market and it prompted me for update with google maps buzz and i did. Now I am running official google 4.0 from market on my 1.6 FastTest rom.
Okay, it turns out that there is currently no way to get both a working Maps application (at all) and the Buzz web app on Android 1.6. Looks like we'll just have to wait for Google.

Runkeeper is available now on Android

hi guys,
Runkeeper is out on android now but it looks like they screwed around with the settings of the app market because I can't find it there with my HTC desire. It's free so I though that someone could please upload the apk somewhere and post it here! thanks guys.
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
What's runkeeper?
Keeps track of speed, milage, etc, for jogging, hiking walking. Links to maps and can track your progress. Can upload but I dont use that function and no little about it. A best of its kind app IMO and was and is very popular on iphone. I just came here to post that it was available for android and saw this thread. I already downloaded and works great. Like most similar apps it uses lots of battery which is the only downside I am aware of.
@freaksey
I wanted to upload it for you, but it is protected app hence it is automatically odexed when installing. Anyone know some way to dump it, I'm too lazy to deodex it ;-)
I am also very interested in this app and also cannot find it on my HTC Hero.
Thanks in advance for the one that can dump the app from the market and upload it here.
Looking forward to it!

looks like Google doesn't like the HTC desire.
Here's another Android owner who wants to but cannot find (let alone install) Runkeeper....
Hope it'll be sorted out soon
I tried to deodex it, but had some problems. You must wait for JF:
http://code.google.com/p/smali/issues/detail?id=26
i hope someone soon figures out how to root the phone so we can get market enabler....
also, if you guys figure out how to get us runkeeper it would be greatly appreciated....
it doesnt show up with my Desire either
..........
Thnx so much! Just installed it. Now let's see if and how it works.
Thnx again
I get the message (in dutch, translated to english):
"Application did not install"
"Runkeeper cannot be installed on this phone"
I am running android 1.5 on HTC Hero

It is for Donut and up, sorry.
AArgh thanks for the message though!
I just removed my 2.1 ROM for the much more stable 1.5 [MoDaCo Custom ROM 3.2]
I'll try to use SportyPal tonight ...
Good luck, Legends ;-)
I read some place that the Runkeeper needs to work only on 2.0 or 2.1

Then you read wrong. As I wrote above, it requires 1.6 .
you rock brut.all!!!
thanks man, i appreciate it!!!
I normally use buddyrunner, but I tried this out tonight, it's quite good. Seems to be more responsive and accurate than buddyrunner, but not as many options, for instance no customizable audio alerts.
Might try it out soon.
What I don't like about it is the Runkeeper webpage.. I find it "too heavy" for mobile usage: if I click on a route link on my phone, it takes ages for the browser to render over 3G.

I hadn't looked for it on the Market until I saw your post, and sure enough I couldn't find it either. That apk works great, and Earth looks fantastic on the Incredible.
Thank you i will enjoy!

Downloaded from market on May 15th....works great..
When the Incredible was released it was available for it. You could search the market and it was nowhere to be found. I'll delete this.
I can find Google Earth on the market but when you attempt to install it there is an error.
Installed, no issues.
Installed for me from market. No issues either. Hm. Try uninstalling old version first? Thats what I did...

What exactly this one needs to run ? I have a tablet which runs on 2.3.4 also 800x480 res, every other thing is standart, yet with all three methods (using vpn to use market.android.com, using marketenabler to use US market on the phone and also using the posted apk in the fisrt post) I wasn't able to install the program on my tablet.
I added Engadget, Gizmodo, Lifehacker etc. but it says
"Creating Edition"
We're turning this blog into a snazzy edition for your library.
Next time you sync Currents, you'll see your posts here.
I've waited a while now, and nothing happens. How long should it take? Cracked, IO9 was ready within 10 seconds.
Edit: Scrap that. It works now
how do you use this ? The app launch with a sync screen, and nothing else...
It's really simple. Just take your time and you'll eventually get it.
well either the app doesn't work with my current google accounts, or I need to buy a brain
