[APP] F-Secure anti theft for free

hi,
just found this:

tried to install it on my n1 but as soon as it tries to update i get an FC
anyone can recommend an other free anti-theft app?

mobile defense. beta at the moment but works really well.

No mobile defense is not in closed beta... You can find it in the market and it works like a charm

Very strange, can't find it on the market and on their website it says it is closed beta. Will try with another build prop file...

They just closed the Beta testing to limit the userbase as they are testing a new release with updated abilities (like remote wipe, and a proper /system installation method). You can install it all you want but can not register a new account right now.

The original link works again (see above).

It is us only for now... It sends texts to your phone to activate and start commands such as gps tracking. Their website said they plan in the future to support other areas but no timeframe is given.
I had an account when i lived in the us, but i live in the uk now and it does not work.

Have you tried it again - just installed it with no problems at all on a Galaxy S... specs below.

Same here. It must be incompatible with gingerbread.

Try Prey (preyproject.com). Doesn't have remote wipe but its free, open source, and works on your laptop too.

[Q] I Cant download or install from market, all of a sudden...please help

I cant download or install anything from the market. This just started happening within the hour.
It acts like it begins the download, then nothing.
this is extremely frustrating. anyone have anything on it?? how to fix, happening to you?

Same for me. Maybe the servers are in maintenance.
For the moment I think that all we have to do is wait and and see.
I'll get more concerned if it's still not working after 24h...

i can download anything except Gapps...
EDIT: Im getting a force close, a vending error...

I'm also having an issue starting today with downloads/installs using AppBrain and the stock Market place
I have a Samsung Vibrant running Bionix-V 2.2
Seems like only certain apps won't download (like Google Maps), I just downloaded an update for Mixzing though and it got installed
It just looks like it downloads and then it goes back to saying "Update" or stalls at the end of the download and doesn't install

Just thinking: maybe it has to do with the Google announcement that'll happen today. It is rumored that they would introduce the Android Market website besides Honeycomb ... So they may be doing tests or else that could have an impact on the market?

We haven't heard anything about a market update
EDIT: They are working on an in browser android market so that might be the cause of the issue.

Wifi download didnt work, edge it worked. Then tried again and it worked. Servers maybe

Been trying on wifi and 3g, no go. No application can install/update. Instead, it "pretends" it is installed (shows in my Downloads/My Apps section), allows me to comment/rate, but still reports "Free" instead of "Download/Update"

Thanks. I've turned off Wifi and managed to download and install the app that was blocked at downloading

Android Market acting weird -- is it a precursor to tomorrow's event?
We've gotten a bunch of tips in the past hour or so that the Android Market is doing weird things, and we can corroborate this on our Nexus S here -- we're just not able to download stuff. Apps look like they're starting to download, then they suddenly vanish into thin air without a trace and without an error message. Our Droid 2 is still fully functional, though, so this definitely isn't consistent; really, we're just wondering if this outage might have something to do with tomorrow's Android-themed festivities at the Google campus, which -- naturally -- we'll be attending. So how is everyone faring out there tonight?

Hi, you may try to clear Market cache in app settings. I used to solve my problem in that way.

With the issues going on with this app. No it cant be posted here. There are alot of things that make this app not allowed in the U.S.

BBC just released their official News app for Android, but it's not available for US in the Market.

Yeah mine just says "Application not installed" on my HD2 running gingerbread.
Edit: With market enabler I was able to change my country ID to a UK one and eventually the market website recognized my phone as elligible. I was able to install it from my PC just now.
Double edit: The live stream portion of the app still doesn't work - it says "not available in your area" but the text news stories work.

They just released it? I've had this app for the past 6 months...I live in Canada, not sure if that matters?

This is the official BBC News App. The other one is not.

I'd never thought of using Market Enabler for stuff like this. Very nice. Thanks for the tip.
I ended up changing it to O2, number 23410. Installed without a hitch (or reboot).

I was pretty surprised a refresh of my browser did the trick - pretty neat indeed. That's the same code I used as well .

It works. First time mine phone says "Application not installed" and second time the application was installed without any problems. Link to the livestream is missing unfortunately . Thanks for the APK File. Looks like a great app. I would consider about moving to the UK. lol.

As others have said, no live stream, but it works well otherwise.

LAST.FM FREE - Now removed from Market

Sure, this app allowed you to download songs for free... but it was still a cool interface & a nice quick way to load up a track(especially old hard-to-find ones). I just had the .apk installed last night but loaded a new rom today & then saw it was gone.
Sadly, this was an .apk I didnt keep a backup of on my pc otherwise i'd try installing it again now. Anyone else used it?

Was it the official Last.fm app? If that's the case, I'm still seeing it. Humm.

Indeed... I can also view the market link so we can safely assume that the app itself, wasn't actually removed. Also, Greek users are very disappointed by it because one cannot listen to music from his phone even if he/she is a premium user, as dimnik83 stated... which is in fact strange. English, German and American users, seem to be enjoying the use of this app to its fullest but us Greeks... well that's a different story... sadly. That aside, Last.fm is still up and running on the market.

im not talking about the official app. it was another app that was entitled Last.FM Free.
if you do a google search for " last.fm free " it shows up on the search results(7th link), but when you click it it's gone.

even whozzaat free message to india apps is deleted from the market..
how do we get them ?..

Apparently its not cost effective on Android but its fine on Xbox Live and Windows Phone 7. I find that kind of odd since Android has a lot higher user base than Windows Phone. But I bet Microsoft made a deal with them.

I emailed the developer of this app cos I had it on a phone from 2010, even though I couldn't directly view detail for the app, the developer name was right underneath it.

i have an old apk for the good one not the scrobbling bs thatson the market now but tjhis is my first time to post in any forum so not sure how to send it from my android phone i would be glad to send it so you could tell me if you have better luck with it than me cause me n my wife truly loved this app more than any other music app ever
