2- Mount memory card on your computer (either by cable or by an SDcard reader)
3- Copy the libwebcore.so to your memory card root folder
4- open terminal emulator and type the following
Code:
su
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cp /sdcard/libwebcore.so /system/lib/
reboot
5- Enjoy
please support on how can we import SMS arabic support into native system
Thaaaaank you man,
gonna try it now
Excellent man, I can confirm its working on CyanogenMod 4.3.2.1. It has a few glitches but otherwise its working properly, its even working in the gmail client as well.
Thanks a lot.
-Gus
Great job Ahmad,
I assume that your libwebcore.so file is based on the one in kb7sqi ROM. However, I was working on what you have accomplished, but the only thing I couldn't figure it out is how did you decompile the so file and edit them.
Any help will be appreciated brother Ahmed.
EDIT :: I guess you just pulled kb7sqi's libwebcore.so and pushed it to CM Rom... hmmm, am i correct..
Could you develop an arabic support for Hero 1.5?

Thank you Ahmed for bringing this up!!! I have been looking for this for so long!
edit: thanks Dr.Dev for your work!
Dr. Dev,
I've noticed some websites don't render well (example: alarabiya.net, article title renders well, but article text doesn't). I'm not sure whether this is caused by some special character or its the font that causes this.
Thanks,

I definitely would, but unfortunately I'm busy with work, with my Master's degree, and another off work project (not to mention family commitments!) I will surely take a look at your code though.
Thank you again for your time and efforts.

Could anyone post a screenshoot of that
I copy .so file but nothing happened
it's need certain font ? currently I could see arbic font's separate is that font enough ?
I am on CyanogenMod 4.3.2.1.
After I push .so file and reboot, I checkout md5 of file which push to device and did not change by OS process
I upgraded to latest cyanogen 4.2.10.1 ROM and downloaded file libwebcore.so.cyanogen from below link and renamed it to libwebcore.so. Then copied it to /system/lib in the G1 to get full arabic:
http://code.google.com/p/arabicandroid/downloads/list
works like a charm , I use this for farsi (persian)

@ all,
is there someone out who can tell us how to add apps2sd to nk02's ION Multi5 R4 Full ROM? I tested with the known adb commands. But on next reboot the image will hung up. I think the ext2 partition won't be mounted.
Do we have to add some files to the R4 Full Image, repack and resigning?
I hope someone can help us or modify this ROM.
Thx
Kindly Regards
Puky70
+1 Dude. Actually I've installed Rogers rom only because it supports apps2sd.
Who cares what ROM you have installed
Have you read the thread title. I like nk02' ROMs,
but I need apps2sd

I know but I inform to you a rom from nk02 with apps2sd exists but it isn't ION.
Anyway I'm interested in this matter too.
BR.
Wouldn't you in theory be able to perform this on the phone yourself?
Make a folder on the sdcard, give it the same permissions as on the phone, copy the contents of the folder on the phone into the newly created folder on the SD card -- lastly make a symlink between those two. Should work in theory, I might try this and report back with results.
i'm not interesting to add app2sd on ION. and i have no idea how to do it
but pheraps i can ask in dream section how to do ..!

I have the t-mobile g1, android 2.2.1 and i am interested are there any flash player apks that still work on this device, because i have downloaded several apk files from variuos sources, wich according to the comments worked for people. for me they either do not install or they install and can not be opened, don't work etc. maybe somebody knows what might be the issue or sources that can still provide a working flash player file?

Hi devs (schlund, devras, tzacapaca, anynymous devs & future devs)
Since Cardsharing deleted all the photon kernel repository on GIT website (thank you Cardsharing), we need to do it again.
I suggest we use Google Code:
http://code.google.com/p/support/wiki/GettingStarted
Google code has a project src hosting (for devs), a bug tracker (for devs and users), a wiki (for n00bs) and a download section.
The drawback is, all of you guys need a google ID to use it.
Otherwise we can continue with a new GIT repository, or use google SVN for that, or any other tool of your suggestion.
What do you think?
ok sorry i forgot, codiak already created this page for photon:

let's use this!

Though cardsharing is a great developer but is being childish at this time. He just believe r0bin, schlund and other developers are not supporting him.
@cardsharing: stop acting rude dude. Think evaone is developing their part of job and developing their part of work. Please don't act so badly and help us porting android on hd mini.
thanks r0bin, schlund and other developers for porting android for us.

This release has been done by Schlund, using his new kitchen!
To my knowledge, it is similar to the previous latest release, but thanks to schlund's kitchen it takes less space.
Schlund's Kitchen is a tool for devs (many thanks Schlund, this tool is very powerful!)
It allows you to update and modify easily the files stored inside system.ext2, init.rd and kernel and generate those files for test & release.
Schlund also wrote a wiki here:
http://code.google.com/p/photon-android/wiki/GettingStartedWithTheKITCHEN
Regarding releases changes, don't worry, if there is any bug fixed this will be posted on the forum.
Till now, we're still working on 3G, little progress:
photon can now be "attached" to GPRS, next step is IP configuration.
be patient...
Thank you for your answer Robin.. & Thanks for schlund also.
No problem.. I will be patient
I just wanted to say if new packages, as I said: Please if something new we must know.. for helping or something else..
Anyway Thanks

Hello all,
I recently became a U8800 owner and I decided to flash it with the latest MIUI ROM, only to find out that their stock Android keyboard does not yet support text prediction in Greek or Greek keyboard at all. Since I didn't want to install a third-party Greek IME from the market, I decided to inject a Greek dictionary found in a previous CM Release plus a Greek keyboard supporting existing LatinIME.apk (from htc devs on a stock 2.3.5 keyboard apk).
It should work on all devices/ROMs, but you can try and share your results.
I also removed all other dictionaries exept english / greek to make it light.
How to install:
1. Navigate to /system/app using Root Explorer and copy/rename your existing LatinIME.apk to a backup folder in your SD card (just to be sure, should things go wrong).
2. Use Root Explorer to mount /system/app as R/W and then paste the new LatinIME.apk inside this folder. Change the file's permissions to rw-r--r-- after pasting.
3. Reboot your device and go to Settings > Language & Keyboard > Android Keyboard > Input Languages. Under Greek, it should now say "Dictionary available".
Download Link:
http://www.multiupload.com/O5KAN3HQ1E
Here is another link to download it from:
nullfix.com
It wokrs correctly on HD2 with Xperia v42 ROM
Thanks
Nice to hear that it works ok.
It works also 100% on my Ideos x5
please reup to somewhere else! will test it on x10 2.3.4 with android keyboard running donut hd rom
Hi ! It's a good news, since I'm seeking how to do the same for the French language since a ROM i flashed my Wildfire S with doesn't support spell check or prediction for it.
Yet, I'm fairly new to the modding scene (my previous phone was a an LG oldie...) and don't know how all of this works, so could you please elaborate ?
Do you mean I should try and retrieve HTC_IME.apk (I'm guessing it's the equivalent of LATIN_IME.apk, but for HTC...) from the stock 2.3.5 ROM and replace the current crappy one with it ? Are the dictionaries contained in the apk ? If not, where will I find the French dictionary ?
Thanks for reading me, I hope you can help.
I would gladly click the "thank you" button for your OP, but I can't seem to see it...
So here goes the old-fashioned way : Thanks !

Yeah I stumbled upon this same folder en.us in usr/ and it's purely useless (in regard of our problem) as far as I can tell...
But I found a way to get it back and working. It's basically the same procedure, but for HTC. I just posted it, I hope it'll help others as well :

i am not developer i want to know only below points
1. we can port different devices rom to our device which having same chipset
2. we can port other devices rom to our e.g. samsung galaxy s4
3. if i want to make rom from scrap then any tutorial available
Please revert
i am not a developer
i want to develop something for my galaxy r becuase i dont want to loose it for some softwares
AFAIK
1. Yes
2. Yes if 1 holds. (correct me if i'm wrong)
3. this will help if you are certain to contribute towards development.
Hope it helps..!
1. Yes. The only one reasonable enough would be O2X. I tried it, but it didn't work. It uses really different nVidia libs.
2. Yes, just look at the XWLSD port. But you can't replace all libs because of the lack of NEON support. Also pay attention to the screen resolution. You will have a massive work with resizing if porting from the GS4.
3. There are many, just look into general Android dev forums, but most of them isn't applicable to the SGR.
(What Nikhil provided is a really great and huge article, hats off to the writer, but it's about application development and not porting.)
