Hi devs (schlund, devras, tzacapaca, anynymous devs & future devs)
Since Cardsharing deleted all the photon kernel repository on GIT website (thank you Cardsharing), we need to do it again.
I suggest we use Google Code:
http://code.google.com/p/support/wiki/GettingStarted
Google code has a project src hosting (for devs), a bug tracker (for devs and users), a wiki (for n00bs) and a download section.
The drawback is, all of you guys need a google ID to use it.
Otherwise we can continue with a new GIT repository, or use google SVN for that, or any other tool of your suggestion.
What do you think?
ok sorry i forgot, codiak already created this page for photon:
http://code.google.com/p/photon-android/
let's use this!
Sry for spamming, but why did Cardsharing delete all hes posts ?

Though cardsharing is a great developer but is being childish at this time. He just believe r0bin, schlund and other developers are not supporting him.
@cardsharing: stop acting rude dude. Think evaone is developing their part of job and developing their part of work. Please don't act so badly and help us porting android on hd mini.
thanks r0bin, schlund and other developers for porting android for us.

I didn't know that has been added since 5/23?
Please if something new we must know..

This release has been done by Schlund, using his new kitchen!
To my knowledge, it is similar to the previous latest release, but thanks to schlund's kitchen it takes less space.
Schlund's Kitchen is a tool for devs (many thanks Schlund, this tool is very powerful!)
It allows you to update and modify easily the files stored inside system.ext2, init.rd and kernel and generate those files for test & release.
Schlund also wrote a wiki here:
http://code.google.com/p/photon-android/wiki/GettingStartedWithTheKITCHEN
Regarding releases changes, don't worry, if there is any bug fixed this will be posted on the forum.
Till now, we're still working on 3G, little progress:
photon can now be "attached" to GPRS, next step is IP configuration.
be patient...
Thank you for your answer Robin.. & Thanks for schlund also.
No problem.. I will be patient
I just wanted to say if new packages, as I said: Please if something new we must know.. for helping or something else..
Anyway Thanks

UPDATE: I am posting a revised version of this kitchen because I noticed the version I uploaded had some nonworking buttons and I noticed lots of silly mistakes when I went back to the source code. I also have added a lot of exception handling. I also realized that by batch file doing the dumping had some errors.
Autosculpt 1.00 BETA REVISED
This is another ROM kitchen based off of bepe's PKGTool and BuildOS, uses Tadzio's improved IMGFS tools, and incorporates some simple Visual Basic code.
What you can do with this release:
Create a dump and make packages using PKGTool
Add/Remove packages
Create splashscreen, HTC Logo, and startup screen
Add splashscreen, HTC logo, and startup screen
Set all components of rom to one location for easy access to build (for lazy people like me who don't want to go searching)
(When this thing is finally released, G3 and G4 flashing support will be enabled)
Since the kitchen is still in its beta, I have disabled to option to flash the ROM to the device.
WARNING: I am not responsible for a bricked device if you choose to go ahead and flash the ROM to the device by starting up the RUU manually!
Last but not least, credit goes to bepe, maimach, tadzio, the-equinoxe for their tools that were used in this kitchen. Also, I thank Faria, mUn, mfrazzz, anichillus, Molski, and countless others who have directly/indirectly helped me understand about ROM cooking.
LINK for kitchen: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pm7az1
The update files are attached along with a readme to tell you where to put them
hmm waiting 4 this...

oh sorry, I was hoping you would post a request in this thread. i just wanted to know who was going to try it. NEW LINK: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pm7az1
as of now, i know that only nothin and badbert have it. if anyone is trying it, please post in this thread.
Wondering if anyone was successful in building a ROM file using this kitchen if you've had the time.
Feedback of any type is appreciated!
Anyone?
Anyone have any type of feedback? I'm kinda banking on that before I make a final release. I understand though if you don't have the time to test this.

Kitchen Updated!
Updated program and dump batch file located in first post. Most exceptions are now handled and buttons work properly. All batch files are now running in hidden mode.
Feedback please!
Any feedback? I'm not releasing this 'till I'm sure that it works for other people too.
Please, if you have time, give me some feedback on this program. I've also stopped my GUI aWizard project because I want to finish this one first.

Great job Ahmad,
I assume that your libwebcore.so file is based on the one in kb7sqi ROM. However, I was working on what you have accomplished, but the only thing I couldn't figure it out is how did you decompile the so file and edit them.
Any help will be appreciated brother Ahmed.
EDIT :: I guess you just pulled kb7sqi's libwebcore.so and pushed it to CM Rom... hmmm, am i correct..
Could you develop an arabic support for Hero 1.5?

Could anyone post a screenshoot of that
I copy .so file but nothing happened
it's need certain font ? currently I could see arbic font's separate is that font enough ?
I am on CyanogenMod 4.3.2.1.
After I push .so file and reboot, I checkout md5 of file which push to device and did not change by OS process
I upgraded to latest cyanogen 4.2.10.1 ROM and downloaded file libwebcore.so.cyanogen from below link and renamed it to libwebcore.so. Then copied it to /system/lib in the G1 to get full arabic:

works like a charm , I use this for farsi (persian)
Thanks to my good friend DooMLoRD for this breakthrough, Bin4ry & Androxyde for developing and maintaining FlashTool, the ability to drop from the desktop into Recovery on the X10 is now just a widget download away.

hi zoz33,
i dont know if MrHassel updated the sources after our discussions but basically we are trying to implement SED commands based on v3 (reboot_into_rec_univ_xperia_v3.zip) of add-on_installer.sh script from here... in java..
may be he will upload the latest files in a few hours...
Zoz33 sorry for delay response, Australian time zones.. Had to undo something yesterday, working at cross purposes on mount points and ended up with a buffer problem. Using Apache Commons isn't working nice due to fifo..
Stream EDit (sed) is much better way as DooMLoRD said. So I will be modifying and reissue sources now.

Nice.
What exactly do you want graphics-wise?
*when complete* provides alternative to scripts
@junixquiaoit good question. This app is not ready for release, it is still being developed. The reason I posted to the developer forum is that I have put this together based on DooMLoRD's scripts, with his assistance and guidance.
Mr Clown relocated rightly, as this is an APP but still in development and not ready for public testing just yet - this maybe causing some.. you have my apologies.
For now perhaps it is best to stick with scripts. When ready the widget / app could potentially replace scripts, although both will be maintained by DooMLoRD and myself.
I will continue to provide assistance and support for as long as I am able, life hopefully

Hi Aydee Great to hear from you, presently it has one single Transparent PNG, 72 x 72 px - created in Adobe Illustrator CS5, no filters or effects, attached at the top of this thread.
http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/widget_design.html
Ideally it should continue to have a 72x72px graphic, for the App drawer and a very small icon for the Widget selection panel and desktop.. HOWEVER what would be really nice imho is to have a few options, one as a spanning 4 column 2 row desktop widget, which can display important state of chargemon (modified / stock), recovery version (ie; xRecovery 0.3 / 0.2 etc..), root active, uptime or some system info..
Best Regards,
MH

P.S
ONLY for Developers!
you know what...
I guess a development thread (hosted with official open source hosting) isn't a development related?
As it turns out neither was the development of Zdzihu's kernel, that he released on April 1.
All I've done amounts to nothing. Just create an open source development project at SourceFoge, prepared a guide for zoz33 (with a lot of redundant java code, which is obviously just an APP or theme or something)... the fact you can't install it means nothing I guess.
@Mr Clown - as this is apparently no longer an active development and isn't any longer a part of the development thread. Why not just remove it altogether?
It's never going to get released when it's sitting in an App or Theme thread, without any input from developers.. so just delete this ok?
I'll do the same with my XDA account and everyone can just be happy.
Cheers.

Devs required
@ALL
this work will be really helpful to the Xperia community as it is laying a foundation for anyone to use this platform to create his/her own apps... we are already sharing the code with the community @ http://xcharge.sf.net and would really appreciate many more devs to help out with various aspects of this project...
firstly i want to make a few things very clear... this is a purely development thread where-in all parts of the app have not yet been finalized and work is still goin on in its development...
all the files for this are openly available at SourceForge http://xcharge.sf.net
@MODERATORS
i request you to please move this thread to X10 Development Section so that the intended audience (developers & designers) can see it and help us out...
we need help from devs/designers to create graphics for this application/widget...
we need help from devs for improving on the programming parts and also on creating newer apps/widgets based on this...
we have a few ideas for additional apps/widgets based on this:
FreeXperia Recovery installer - currently it comes preinstalled on CM7 roms by jerpelea & also can be installed thru flashtool v0.2.8 and above, but doesnt have a installer like xrecovery had
Battery/Performance tweak toggle app - like the tweaks mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1005027
Custom kernel selection on reboot menu - now that the bootloader has been bypassed newer custom kernels will be released... wouldnt it be great to have an app to select which custom kernel u want to reboot into? we can have overclock/undervolt/etc kernels...
Multi-boot menu - slightly far fetched and will need help from the devs who create the ROMs
Having this in apps & themes, is like having a car frame, a few boxes of nuts & bolts, 4 wheels and a horn.. then saying "let's go for a drive!".
That is obviously how some people roll.. so anyway.. since mostly all thread's are getting hijacked, you're going to see less postings from me. If any - thanks to J.Anderson this place is like a ghost town and the moderator's have become annoyed so much, they don't want to see new development projects, just finnished results. Fair enough..
You can't install this. It is not an app. Where it belongs is a different forum, maybe even a different website.
For anyone interested in the current state. Finnish widget and will post back when tests complete.
Hi,
I thought this was not yet possible to port Cyanogenmod on Dual Sim devices, at least not properly, but then I saw this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2246874
It gave me a real hope for the generic MT6589 device I am currently using.
I am new to all of this, so I hope I don't bother everyone.
Also, my device uses obviously different hardware, but uses the same processor, so I managed to install the above ROM and got it working but without any screen display.
In other words, it was working, and I could see everything as far as the installation wizzard was concerned, so I thought I was fine, but then when I was done and it rebooted, I could not see anything on the display anymore, but the phone was still working working.
So I am assuming some obvious hardware drivers differences, and that the old drivers were still working till I restarted?
Is there a way to modify the rom to make it work?
What files would I need to pull from my device to add/replace in the posted ROM to make it worlk, if that is possible?
Or does cynanogenmod have to compile with the files of my device to work, even though the processor bit had already been done?
If so, I have no problem in trying to compile cyanogenmod from scratch, but I will still get the dual SIM problem, and I thought this has been fixed in this ROM.
So what modifications would need to be done to incorporate the DUAL SIM issue, and make it work, or has this already been resolved upstream?
Is there a github or such of the modifications and alterations that were done to Cyanogenmod for this posted ROM in order to get it working?
I am willing to use those files and port it to my device, but without these modifications, I will not be able to do anything, even though the kernel sources for MT6589 are openly available now.
Sorry for asking this question here, but I tried to reply to the original post and it did not let me.
Is it okay to ask this here?
If not, please excuse me, and if you can forward me to the right place.
Thanks and regards

Thanks and regards

just as I thought.the kernel.
its not fr u. ask dev to create a kernel fr u!
Thank you for your fast reply.
Where do I ask?
Also, I was hoping to learn how to do it, and have the sources if possible, or at least how to modify the sources, because I have about three of these chinese devices, all using the same processor, but with different hardware.
Thanks

Well, I tried posting on the original thread, but couldn't.
Then tried to send a private message, but couldn't.
So I started this thread.

Did you mean it is not easy to contact the dev, or not easy to compile the sources for my devices?
Just wanted to be sure.
Thanks again

I can see that, but I think with some patience I can do it.
Also, I have been using Linux for years now, and it seems I just need to figure out how things are laid out in Android.
And once I get used to that, then things become easier.
I am assuming that the linux kernel needs to be compiled with the specific drivers related to my hardware, right?
However, that would still not take into account:
- The changes made in Android/Cyanogenmod that take into account Dual SIM functionality
- How Cyanogenmod is actually laid-out, such as are changes done directly to stock android, or applied as patches?
I was thinking of the following:
1) Checking for the difference between stock Android and Cyanogenmod, and save aside the diff changes to make a patch file.
2) Then hope to find the sources of the stock android that has already been modified to work with MT6589, since these devices obviously use Android on them with some modifications
3) Then apply the patch made in (1) on these sources
Thus, I also need one important question answered:
If I were to download the sources for Cyanogenmod (which I already did), are the patches to the stock Android already applied, or are they placed in a separate folder, and applied on compilation?
I have this feeling that the above patches will probably not work out, because there will probably be extra functions, code that the patch will not be able to take into account, and will have some type of non-working or broken system, until I figure out what is missing.
I might get it to boot to a certain point (most probably shell like), and it would stop there.
Well, in either case, after writing all this down, I started to visualize more the hard part you are talking about, and this would require good knowledge of Android Code and structure.
Thus, if anyone can give me the required Cyanogenmod sources that have already been modified to work on an MT6589, or the diff patches between the normal and modified Cynogenmod, then that would be amazing.
Then I will have to only figure out at that point the propriety files I need to pull from the device, and specific vendor modifications.
Of course, I am just speculating, as this depends on how Android/Cyanogenmod is structured, and I could be completely off the mark, and have no idea what I am talking about.
Thanks

Wow... Even though I searched for so long, I did not find this.
I guess I did not know what to search for.
I thank you a lot.
I will probably take a while to learn how to use this, so I will disappear until I figure it out.
If I managed to do anything, then will come back and post my status.
Thanks again
