please help, my dream is dead!! - G1 Android Development

hello guys..i'm a newbie in android, and, i have a big problem now. i tried to install another rom instead of the stock one (spanish), and now my device doesn't start at all. i tried many ways, and each time i was able to go to fastboot menu or recovery menu. now, after i've done some steps from this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...odel+incorrect , my device keep restarting by himself. I cannot reach even recovery menu or fastboot menu. It starts the logo screen for 4-5 seconds, and after that is restarting and again the logo, even if i'm trying to press home+power or camera+power. what can i do???

You claimed you followed the instructions from a guide but i think just as you cant follow the simple rules of posting in the proper place, you didnt follow the guides instructions therefore messing up your device, blame your own folly.

i know that is the wrong place for posting. i know that! but i want to know if i can still install a rom to my device. sorry, my apologize, but i'm pretty desperate, 'cause i see that i cannot use anything on it (not even fastboot menu).

You're bricked. Post in the right section

ok. you can close this thread.

Asus Transformer not being able to unbrick

so because i cannot post in the ****ing development forum i have to ask here..
I did the pure root 3.1, didnt see some instructions, it got bricked in the last step.
so I go and try to unbrick it using NVFlash, BUT, when i try to turn it on on APX mode or whatever, it wont turn on, at all. AND when i turn it on the normal way, it turns on like usual, and gets stuck in the boot screen.
so much hassle just for one mistake, i know shouldve read the instructions carefully but FCK, i do these kind of things in the quickness, i dont have time to read those little instructions on top that u dont even pay attention to.
/rant
I have the same issue and i have been trying to different ways to get it to unbrick. I even manually type in the code but it freezes when it tries to write something onto the device. Does anyone have any ideas?

I have done my research and yet... no result. Please HELP!! (I'm new to android)

Hello all, this is my first time posting on this forums, although I have been lurking them thoroughly the last couple of days, since I was able to finally buy myself my first Android Phone: HTC Chacha.
Being completely new to android, it was hard for me to adapt and learn all the new terms (like root, rom, etc.) and finally the day before yesterday I decided to dive in and try to mess around with my Chacha because I was tired of the internal memory running low and the lack of awesome stuff I could install, like a Custom ROM.
I have followed the guides in this forums, and I am glad to say that I have my chacha unlocked via the bootloader thingy from the official htc website (it says UNLOCKED when I open the menu when booting the device with the power and down volume keys) , I have it rooted and, somehow, I was able to install Clockwork Recovery Mod version 4 to try and backup the rom that came with the phone (from Telcel, since I'm from Mexico) and install a specific Rom (I want to install Stock Plus, here's the link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690088)
However, I have failed terribly and I am just about to tear my hair out due to frustration. :silly:
Every time I run the Clockwork Recovery Mod from the Recovery option in the menu that appears if you press the power and down volume keys, no matter what options I choose (backup, install from sd, power off, etc) NO ACTION takes place and it just stays stuck in the logo of the hat with the orange circle. I have tried waiting for hours, taking the battery on and off, rebooting (is that the same as restarting?) the cellphone and googling like crazy.
I hate threads were people post because they didn't take their time to do proper research or just typing a couple of words on google. But I SWEAR I have been trying this for 6 hours, I have tried different searches and I am just about to give up. Please help me!
Is there something I need to install? Something I need to check? I admit I AM a noob when it comes to terms like "flashing" and such, but if you are patient and guide me step by step I promise I will do my best to follow the steps without annoying you.
I have read a lot of guides, posts in this forum and others, and finally decided that the last desperate measure had to be used: Ask for help.
If someone has ANY idea of what I'm doing wrong, please guide me. And I'm sorry if this post is too long, but I just had too much to say due to my lack of reaching goals for today, lol.
Thank you for taking your time to read this

Go into recovery like you have just described, once in recovery, before choosing any items like install from SD card of backup press the volume key (either up or down) multiple times until you see something like "back menu enabled" displayed in white text. After that choose any option you want, you'll be good to go.
Use the "enter" key on your keyboard to activate CWM options.

THANK YOU! I did just like you said and the "back menu enabled" DID appear in white text. I was finally able to make a backup of the rom I had in the phone. I am a very happy person right now!

[Completed] ClockworkMod Builder Problem and Bootloader Reboot Problem.

Hello there, XDA!
I'm new here, so pardon me if i post threads in wrong categories, accidentally turn out stupid etc.
I have a problem, two that is.
As of first, my device, which is a tablet PC, MeanIT M754 is not supported for ClockworkMod. So i tried to build one for it using the ClockworkMod Recovery Builder.
I waited, waited, but only what i got is a page saying:
Your build id is:
[build ID]
There were no attachments, files or anything. There was also a link, leading to a "not found error" page, and there was, i THINK, the one that leads to the main page.
I tried typing the build ID in the link, but nope, nothing.
I really don't know how to make it work.
For the second, bootloader.
It's kinda obvious EVERYONE wants to unlock their Android's bootloaders these days.
I tried some apps, but when i granted them root access (forgot to mention i'm rooted), and clicked Reboot Bootloader, all i got was a black screen, going on and on unless i keep holding the Power button and reboot it. I tried waiting, but...eh, it did nothing.
I even tried every button combination possible (except Power+VolumeUp, cause you know already):
Power+VolumeDown
Power+VolumeDown, but when it goes to manufacturer logo release Power button
Power+VolumeUp and VolumeDown, which for some reason, lead me to the recovery mode
Power+VolumeDown, holding them both.
I also tried to power it up, then hold the VolumeDown button. But all i got was Safe Mode.
About the ADB, it just can't recognize the device although i have proper drivers installed.
Can someone tell me what's the problem, or how to fix it?
One more information. I have Windows XP on my PC so if there's any program for bootloader unlocking for Windows Vista/7/8, i'm limited, but also doomed.
Thanks for your time.

From what info you provided your device is a Meanit Promise Tablet 7" M754 corect ? At this time there is no specific Forum for your device. I would suggest posting HERE to see if anyone else has the same device, and some info for you. As to building CWM for your device. You should check out THIS, and also HERE.
Thanks.

[Q] Restore recovery mode

Hello,
Can someone please help me to go back to stock recovery WITHOUT factory reset?
I've installed CF-Auto-Root v1.0 and then flashed to lollipop 5.0.1.
Now, whenever I try to enter bootloader from the Fastboot Mode menu (by the Recovery Mode option)
It doesn't do anything.
Thanks ahead,
You seem to be a little confused.
"Whenever I try to enter bootloader from the fastboot mode menu by the recovery mode option..."
First of all. The screen that let's you cycle through recovery mode, start, power off & bootloader (what you call fastboot mode) is actually the bootloader itself.
When you're on that screen that allows you to select the different option you are already in the bootloader so selecting bootloader will just take you back to that screen over and over and over.
If you want to go to recovery, you hit recovery. You'll see an android with a red exclamation mark that says "No command" or something to that effect. I forget exactly what it says off the top of my head. From there, you hold the power button and press volume up and release and it will take you to stock recovery.
Also, performing a factory reset will not magically install stock recovery for you.
I'd highly advise you to stop using any kind of toolkits or "auto" anything until you are comfortable doing it manually by yourself.
I recommend reading the entire roll up sticky guide by rootSU in the general section to learn what you're doing.
Here it is;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784527
Read the entire thread. Read every thread linked in that thread as well. All of them. Otherwise your time on XDA is going to be very frustrating while you try to figure out how to recover from a bootloop or a wiped OS when if you knew what you were doing, would have never happened. Crawl. Walk. Then run. Baby steps. Start from the bottom and work your way up. Learn the basics before doing other things. Best of luck.

Read, read and then read some more. Rooting and custom recoveries are not tied together.

All the questions you have are covered in-depth within the guide I linked you to. You can boot into custom recovery without installing it with fastboot boot recovery instead of fastboot flash recovery. Root from there.

[Completed] trying to put CWM on a p500

hello all, I'm really new to rooting and I'd like it if you could help me out here, this is about trying to get a CWM working on the smartphone p500. It's a new phone, I just put in the battery out of the package.
okay, so I've just rooted my p500 (root checker said it was indeed rooted), and I'm at a loss here. no matter what I try, I can't get CWM working. the first step I took was to try it via Rom manager. It got stuck at 100 % download, roughly the same problem as in this post
So I tried to get twrp, and got to this tutorial. I tried to put in the command "adb reboot bootloader". It appears as though this just shut down my phone, which would then display a "charging" symbole, since it's still charching via the USB. After putting in the next command; "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img", the command prompt returns "waiting for device", leading me to believe the phone has just shut down.
I tried to search the internet for another way to get in fastboot mode, but all I could find were threads about unbricking the p500 *after* booting in to fastboot mode. which should help, once I get there. This appears not to be an option, either.
After some more searching, I came across this post, detailing how to flash a custom recovery mod. Since I'm already rooted, I got as far as part III, step 5. step 6 is rebooting in recovery mode by pressing and holding volume down + home + power button. I've tried this while the phone is off and while it is on, but all it does is rebooting. Then, in this post, I read you need a custom recovery in order to boot in recovery mode.
Having come full circle, I've exhausted all my options. l've probable misunderstood several directions, or I have overlooked something fairly obvious. Can anyone help me?
