VZ keypad mapping on EnergyROM - Touch Pro2 CDMA

has anyone flashed an EnergyROM on their VZ TP2?
is there a problem with the function keys on the keypad?
I just flashed a friends' VZ TP2 and the characters when using the function key on the keypad are not what they should be...
does anyone know of a fix for this?

The PCCGeeks website isn't working for me right now, but check out the FAQ on either the Leo or Photon thread. There's a Verizon keyboard fix (as well as some other fixes). I know on the Leo rom, it's actually post 18.
I'd upload the cab file, but I only have it saved at work.
Hope this helps,
Kevin
The PPCGeeks website is back up. Here's the post in the Leo forum. The keyboard fix should work for the Photon rom as well though.

HTC Touch Keyboard

Hopefully I'm not starting a thread on an app that's already being discussed somewhere, but anyone tried the Touch Keyboard on their Wizard? I saw it in the Kaiser thread, and found a link to here (WWE Version): http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=55596&d=1193351352
The thread its being discussed in is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336587
I think there is a link to another cab with more languages in the thread above. I'm gonna give it a try when I get home tonight. If anyone else does, please post results.
Thanks.
I have it it seems ok..I was hoping it was going to be similar to the apple phone..as far as when you press the letters it would zoom in and then you could press the letter you want from there. Don't get me wrong it is a lot better then the regular one with plenty of options and if you like suretype you can emulate it with this program....g
would it possible to have CHT(chinese-TW) version ?Thanks

Read the Sticky on Radio's. Or read the last page on Dutty's Post, you will see me explaining this to someone.
It will explain that you need a 6.1 Radio for a 6.1 ROM.
1. Upgrade your radio!!!
2. To allign the screen, first disable FTouchFlo, soft reset, allign the screen and reenable the FTouchFlo...

Thanks a lot the radio problem is solved. The keyboard though remains. The functionality with the function keys i.e. the commas,; etc..etc are not aligned I get different values. I get a & instead of " that the button shows.

search for tilt keyboard fix.. Just install it and soft reset your phone...
Searched and here you go...

Has the general public forgotten how to read or do a search.
Why not post your questions in the thread pertaining to the rom that you just flashed instead of starting a new thread.
I bet you have a tilt dont you. Have you tried the tilt keyboard fix?
Seriously, if I had a dollar for every "my sound isn't working" thread, I'd have like 20 dollars by now. (sorry, couldn't resist)
Holy cow... After I revamped the wiki to be easier to navigate than any other wiki, there are still people asking this?
XDA-developers is being inundated with regular Joes, and despite everything we try to do to assist the average Joe, there are still too many people who will start a new thread and bump it until they get the support they need, rather than reading.
I give up. Logging out until things change around here...
I don't blame you Alex. Un-f#$%king-believable that people are such idiots.

Hardware Keyboard "Sym" functionality disabled

Hi,
I have installed the Hornet 5.1b ROM that has Win6.1 as the OS. I am able to use all the hardware keyboard functions as standard i.e. the default letters and default symbol for each key.
The problem I have is that the "Sym" key found on teh Wizards spacebar will not cycle through the available symbols available for that specific key. I.e. If, on standard Windows Mobile device, I wish to enter the pound symbol (£) I would press the Fn key + the G letter that has the $ sign as it's default symbol. I would then press the Fn key and the Sym key to cycle through to change the symbol to £.
The actual Sym function on my current ROM does not work. There is no functionality at all for this button.
I do not want to flash to another ROM as I am very happy barring this one issue. I am wondering if anyone knows how to regain this Sym functionality? I have done plenty of searching and most results will refer to language changes - this is not what my problem.
Hope to get a helpful response to this thread.
Cheers,
DocJ0nes
I just wanted to thank you because I never knew you could do that!
It works fine on my custom WM6.0 ROM.
OK on WM6.5
Just to remark that sym function works fine on my Qtek 9100 h/w keyboard running WM6.5. I'm using XDA2's (Haseeb's) ROM.

Glad to help at least
How is the 6.5 ROM? I'm reluctant to try it as my tests with converted language ROMS in the past have not been fun.
Anyone else know a solution to my problem...?

Well, in general workable. Slow in messaging start-up, but otherwise like a heavily-loaded 6.1 Well worth the "sacrifice" in my case. I use Spb Mobile Shell v.3.0 and have disabled CHome.
Hi All,
Can one of you guys send me a UK version of the sym.txt file found in the root of the windows directory on your wizard. The sym.txt may have a 4 digit number in the filename, this is the one I need.
I would like to compare the file you have with a working "Sym" button configuration and hopefully fix mine myself.
PM me for my email address if you are interested in helping me

Like everyone else, I thank you for telling us about the feature. I always wondered what "sym" was supposed to do. It also does accent marks. =]
I'm pretty sure I don't have a UK sym.txt and I don't know where to get one, but here is my sym.txt if you want to compare anyways. It works, but I think it is WWE:

HELP! Flashed Tilt 2 now keyboard works funny.

To anyone who can help,
I flashed EnergyROM_28002_RHODIUM_19.Nov.2009_Standard into my Tilt 2 which uses a different keyboard layout than the TP2 there for I cannot use the numbers or symbols properly. Does anyone have a cab or fix for this? I'm new to the forum and a big fan. Please help if you can.

post #8. search next time please. I found this after typing in Tilt 2 keyboard fix and it popped up pretty quick.
Found it...
I actually just found it after doing a quick search and saw your reply as I was about to remove this thread. Will do thorough search next time.

WM6.5 original keyboard

Hi to all,
I'd like to install the original keyboard (usable with the stylus) present on WM6.5 original rom. Can anyone help me to find the cab?
sometimes it's very useful because it leave more room for the background application
Thanks
tistian
I need the same!
Are you looking for the stylus keyboard present on devices prior to the Pro 2? If yes, then I have been searching for the same. I have recently found a registry edit to get it to work. Currently testing. Shall let you know if it works.
I'm look forword it
Thanks
Bump! Bump! Bump!

When you guys talk of "stylus" keyboard, are you ref. to the tiny querty keaybord seen in windows mobile 6.1?
Yes, that's what we want. I am currently having a HD2 TOUS being delivered to me and I am waiting for it.
In advance, I am reseraching my tinkering options with this device. I still have my old yet enduring Himalaya by hand. I'll try and see if I can do some tweaks by copying files from my Himalaya to Leo. Will post updates if I am successful.
I found the solution. Please bump if anyone is interested, as I have lost the links and sources and it will be tedious to me to find and re-credit my sources.
However, should you want to do it yourself, the solution is basically finding the right keys that correspond to the old keyboard you want (i.e. Keyboard, Block Recognizer, Handwriting recognizer) under HKCR\CLSID and changing the data of the value of key "IsSipInputMethod" to 1, then downloading SIPChange to select that keyboard. You need SIPChange as it is the only way to select the keyboard without HTC Input taking over.
