XDA Network switching

Hi, quick one please.
I have a Wizard also know as XDA Mini S branded to O2... I did recently do the update to WM6 with the Hard method, also used some software which captured settings of the phone, it told me it was SIM unlocked and I know I made it CID unlocked with the Hard thing.
What I want to know is this.
Currently on a business contract with o2, this is expiring and I have sorted out so I get a signal here on other networks by using other antenna (see my other post)... I ebayed a very cheap Orange SIM so I can test the signal, however it doesn't have a number and requires registering and I know I need to give my phone EIMI out. I also have another sim here which works as a PAYG Vodafone which is registered to another hand set.
So, when i put in either vodafone or orange sim into my so called 'unlocked' phone, it just sits there searching away and nothing really happens, no messages just search, I know I should be getting signals.
1: Is this handset locking methods but I am sure im unlocked? Is this because the EMIE and vodafone sim card is not matching?
2: As I am in a business contract with o2, if I register the EMEI number with Orange, will I upset my business phone number (must not do)
All I want to do is see how 'steady' the orange signal is here and also find out what to do next when we change our contract (this month) as I wish to retain my XDA because no 'new' XDA-type phones coming out have no antenna sockets

but it is a question about networks and how they work and not about a particurlar phone.
Quite stunned that nobody is actually interested in helping me on this issue, they seem to be more interested in ROMs are alike lol

Free HTC s710 unlock???

Hi all,
I need help, I have s710 from KPN dutch mobile operator. I want to unlock it, but everyone want money If u have any sugestion how to unlock it with some program... pls post here!

Do you have KPN branded Vox/S710 BIOS or 'just' a SIM lock ?
And: how old is the contract, according to dutch law they need to give you the unlock code after 12 months.
And: I don't know if its okay for the rules of this forum to talk openly regarding this matter

There might be an answer there. Alternatively, you could try calling T-Mobile and ask them to unlock it for you. For the most part, they do it for free (if you are a subscriber). Just tell them that you are traveling overseas and need it to connect to local providers (or use a prepaid sim or something like that).

Question for a Techy who knows o2 connection codes?

Hi there,
I have recently brought an xda serra, I brought the phone unlocked online because I wanted it on pay&go because it made more sense economicaly and thinking I could only use the pay&go internet on emergencys otherwise use it through wifi, cutting costs.
However I have put in an o2 pay&go sim which did not automaticaly configure the GPRS and wap conection codes. So the internet is not working on the phone.
I contacted Tech Support at o2 ; one guy was very helpful and we tried a few settings which I manualy put into the connections on the phone but they did not work.
Apparently o2 do not support the phone on pay &go only on contract.
I do not want a contract sim as it is costly and I cannot afford.
The chap from o2 tech support said it should be possible and we tried codes for other phones such as the nokia 58 100 pay&go, but they did not work.
He said google it to see what I get but no luck with that so I thought I would try this forum!!!
I am very grateful for any help or ideas!!!!

Hi - I read about HTC Sensation XE, 4G etc - how do I know which model my phone is?
Also I am living abroad from the UK and need to use a SIM from another phone company so I need to unlick my phone. Is the a FREE way to do thas apart from going to one of those web sites that unlock it for a fee?
