Hi,
Is there any way to hook up an external touch screen monitor to a pocket pc?
Any solution is welcomed, does not have to be Eten, but I do prefer it to be Eten.
I simply want to connect it to a large LCD touch screen, and be able to control it from that screen only.
A software/Harware solution is most welcomed.
Just to be clear, I do not want to control it from a PC desktop, but a simple large external touch screen.
So far I managed to find this:
http://www.spectec.com.tw/sdv842.htm
http://www.margi.com/products.htm
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/peripherals/video.htm
They all need SDIO, and I know that X500/800 has SDIO.
However, I could not find an answer to whether I can control it through the
external TOUCH screen, and not just the IR remote.
The Ameo supports a VGA monitor natively, and also a standard mouse, after some fiddling somebody here managed to get the mouse drivers for 1 specific brand of touch screen working, therefore creating exactly what you want !
I can't remeber the post but it is here, he even mentions which brand of touch screen to buy !
Hi guys,
Is there any way to connect a Hero or Vega (or any android device for that matter) to an external touch screen monitor and control the phone/tablet via the large monitor?
I understand it is pretty easy to watch movies etc on a bigger monitor but I am wanting to actually use the touch screen input of the monitor to control the device.
My aim is to use this as an entertainment system on a 22" (anything over 15") touch screen in a VW campervan conversion project smile.gif
Any help hugely appreciated.
Cheers,

look on ebay for touch screen addons for laptop or computer monitors most just emulate a usb mouse so if the android tablet or whatever your using supports usb mouse support like some of the viewsonic gtablet roms do i woul think it would work pretty good if you could find one for the size screen you want.
something like this but for the size screen you want http://goo.gl/4GdgT
You need to hack it
I had a similar idea and one of the Touch screen panels as mentioned by gator2k83. It did not work that way as he proposed.
The touch screen works with absolute positions. A mouse is relative position.
You need to hack it the bad way.
See my blog post about it:

If anyone has other experiences, let me know.
HP 23TM touch screen monitor and android tablets
Would the new HP 23TM touch screen monitor work with a 7 inch tablet as an external touch screen monitor? The table has a hdmi out and a micro usb out which could be hooked up with OTG cable?
Thanks.
It would be great to be able to do that

Its been 4 years since the original post, so I'm curious if its any easier now. I would like to control my Samsung Galaxy S3 (MHL compatible) via a MHL 3.0 cable and this touchscreen. Any ideas/advice?
Hello all, I've been wondering lately if it's possible for an Android phone to be plugged into an external touch screen and be completely controlled via the external touchscreen?
By possible, I actually mean easily done via some basic or maybe not so basic code.
I know some Android devices offer mirroring via mini hdmi, but you usually have to either control using a remote or the phone. I'd rather have it connect through the micro-usb port, lay the phone somewhere else, and fully control the phone through the external touch screen.
I tried to search, but wasn't sure what to use for the search and all I found was ways to remotely control you pc using your device.
no i dont think so....a web application is there for controlling your phone via wifi with the help of router..
Airdroid try it..

Thanks for the reply. I'll give Airdroid a try, but I was looking for a more direct option. I'm thinking there has to be a way since the webtops/laptop docks seem to work well, but again those use mouses/keyboards for control.
I am hot on this idea too
I have a lilliput 4 wire resistive screen that i want to use a carputer.
I have seen one solution that is stuck in "coming soon" that requires some manual intervention called customgadz...google it. It's expensive.
I have googled endlessly to try and find a way to input the Liliput directly into the Atrix HD dock as a USB input but the touch screen needs to be calibrated.
So i've resorted to emailing liliput to see what they say.
Now this is kind of hard to explain, but il do my best
I just got a stylus pen for my TF300T, and so far it works great. I usually use Autodesk SketchBook pro for tablets and it also works great. But now my question is if its possible to make my TF300t's screen, to then connect it to my computer and use the touch screen to kind of draw on my PC. Got it?
Well, you might try to use application called "WiFi Mouse HD". As the title says, it will create a mousepad on your TF and you will be able to control your PC mouse via WiFi. Then all you have to do is turn some painting program on PC and try to draw
Hi
I have Galaxy Ace 4 (kitkat 4.4) with broken lcd. The screen is blank but touch should work. Earlier something was visible on screen and as I remember touch was working.
Moreover, the system had some failure due to permanent "application xxx stopped working" and factory reset should be made.
I would like to use this phone as wifi hotspot. Is there any way to access the phone after factory reset? I have found application like Visor to control android via usb on pc. But developer mode has to be enabled and I'm not sure if system should be rooted.
Thank you for any help
If you can still see the screen, but the touch screen does not work:
Buy a cheap USB adapter so you can connect a PC keyboard or mouse (probably a USB C to USB A adapter). You can buy these adapters from China on eBay for $ 1 (but you may have to wait a month until they arrive in the mail. In this case, buy from a seller in your own country). I suppose you have a keyboard or just use the keyboard and use the arrows to move and select things, so I think the Windows button will become the home button. Press Enter to select and Escape to return. Or you can simply point and click with the mouse. The problem is that not all phones support "OTG", so you may not be able to read the adapter. If so, then I think you have no other choice. . But most of the stores themselves definitely support 100% OTG, so it should work normally. The problem with Bluetooth is that you need to pair it first, which requires touching the screen. Therefore, if you cannot touch the screen, using a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard may not work
If you can't see the screen, but the touch screen works normally:
Unless you change the screen, don't think that there are many things you can do. Android phones that were previously compatible with MHL allow you to use a dongle to connect it directly to HDMI. But the cell phone no longer has that function. If you have a Samsung phone, I think you can buy a Samsung Dex docking station, which will allow you to connect it to the screen via HDMI. If you can install applications on your phone, you may be able to control your phone from your computer using a screen mirroring application (there are thousands of different software that can do this, but you need to install applications on your phone). Same as Google Chromecast screen mirroring. .You need to access the application on your phone to perform this operation. Therefore, there is nothing you can do except replace the screen. If you are lucky and your smartphone supports some type of HDMI dongle adapter or some type of desktop docking station with HDMI output, you can view the phone's screen and access it.
