How to adjust my G-Sensor?
if ur using a hero rom its in settings, sound and display-> scroll all the way down
there is g-sensor-calibration
If you don't have a Sense UI ROM installed with the above working, then you can force your phone to re-calibrate by deleting /data/misc/akmd*
Note that there's no guarantee that the new file will actually be better than the one you deleted, so back it up first.
You can follow persistent calibration problems in this thread here.
Thanks for your replys.
But I want to adjust my G-Sensor,not back it to default.
So,I need a software to adjust it.
Some applications have their own calibration for the G-Sensor, which does nothing to the actual phone-wide settings, but tunes the application better. I'm not sure that it's actually possible to adjust the calibration manually.
If you find an application that does it (one that needs root-permissions, I'd assume) then please let me know.
By adjust what do you mean? sensitivaty? or just a calibration kind of adjustment?
I do think someone can write a program to set somekind of profiling for the g-sensor
something like
1. turn on only for specific apps (e.g. it works on gallery but not the browser kind of deal)
that would be useful. for now I turn it off by default.
I flashed the wrong radio to my Htc g2 32A.
So, my Magic become a brick.
I sent it to a repair shop last week.
But when I got the repaired phone, the G-sensor did not work right.
So,I think I need a software to adjust my G-Sensor.
The same thing happened to me...
But i'm not sure that the repair did it or my hero rom...
Your hero rom can fix g-sensor?

hi there!
I downloaded JUVS HTC Large Titlebar and HTC Enlarge Start menu CABs and installed both on my E-TEN M800 (VGA).
They installed fine and I now have the "large start menu" item in my system settings.
But when I check the checkbox to turn it on, it still doesnt enlarge.
I rebooted the device and still nothing. I basically only need the zooming of the notification icons in the start-bar.
have I missed something? do i need additional files?
thanks
Bernhard
the old one just for QVGA, try this one, but dun know can it work on ETEN
thanks, but it doesn't work.
maybe it needs touchFLO so its only activated when you use the finger? or something like that?
No touchflow wouldnt make a difference on this. Unfortunatly some of the items on here will only work with HTC devices and i think this may well be one of them im afraid. Unless anyone else can shed any light
Tried the Large Start Menu once on my iPAQ, and what I found was that the service (htcStartMenuService.dll) doesn't automatically start. Using DotFred's Taskmanager to manually start the service made the large start menu appear... until the next soft reset.
The same thing probably happens with the large titlebar thing.
thanks ridolfo, this works!
now i have to find a way to start it automatically on reboot
makes my e-ten even more userfriendly!
edit: i just added this nice and useful taskmanager to my StartMenu and on reboot, i open it, go to the services tab and click the little start icon for the LargeTitleBar service. thats it.
works like a charm.
IIRC, you can even open it on the services tab, using a command-line switch. Have a look in the "About" screen for possible command-line switches (I think it's in the "About" screen, but I'm not sure).
I'm still hoping that someone can explain why some of the HTC services do auto-start, but others don't.
yes, because when you install the LargeTitleBar it correctly creates its entry in the Registry and is bound to be started, but somehow it doesnt.
In my brand new HTC Touch Cruise, large menu option is ticked, but after playing around with apps or settings it becomes small, allthough it's still ticked. I have to disable and reenable it to make it big again. It's a bit of a problem, as it happens often. Advice would be appreciated.
same problem
couldn't this problem be fixed by some registry entires ?
I mean to put an application into autostart shouldn't be a problem, well for me, as a hardcore newp it is acutally, but maybe not fo you guys
on my xperia x1 i've got the same problem .

Hi! at all!
Have you found a solution?
I'd like to disable the phone from waking up when i get a text message... If i get one while the phone is in my pocket, the act of pulling it out keeps on resizing my text for some reason...
I have diamond tweak and the "wake on sms" is disabled, but it still does it... I've tried enabling it and disabling it again to no avail...
Anyone have any suggestions?
I have advanced config, diamond tweak, and total commander if any can get the job done.
Run phoneAlarm - which controls phone profiles and many other aspects of how your phone operates. It has an option to keep the phone from waking up on SMS.
The re-sizing may come from your touching around the D-Pad as you pull the phone from your pocket. That's what I was doing an it had me totally baffled for about a week - until I accidentally discovered that you could change the font size by running your finger around the action button.
Hrmm... phoneAlarm looks like it's a huge hastle to put in and i rather like the touch flo... wouldn't want to disable it to put in something else for this one feature I'm looking for...
I'm just miffed though... The registry key:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent
is already set to 1... it should be disabled... but it still wakes up...
can anyone tell me why?... I DO have the sprint (cdma) version if that makes any difference but i don't think they would have jacked with sms wakeup...
bump... anyone know how to help with this?...
it's driving me nuts trying to figure out why it's not working as intended...
i also tried different things to not wakeup the phone on sms but nothing worked.
does anyone have a solution???
I have turned it on and off several times to see if I could replicate your issue and I cannot. There is an issue with your phone disregarding that Diamond tweak setting. There are a few things I would look at, are you running the stock ROM or did you flash one? What applications have you loaded on the phone one might be conflicting or overriding that setting. If I just could not figure out what could be causing this issue I would hard reset and before I load anything I would test to see if it works or not.

the accelerometer seems to cause more issues than do good.. how can i turn it off? i have energyrom 3.0

nope dosnt work, set entry to decimal and put 999999 closed and did not do anything inside or outside Opera... what im talking about is a global fix.. not for certain apps as what it appears you linked me to.
bump for fix
AFAIK by default the accelerometer is only working in the HTC Album and Opera Mobile. How is this causing you any issues? Could it be possible that you have some g-sensor program start the support when the device starts?

hmm thats strange, its happening in every program and causing some to crash.. maybe its the ROM i have.. ill try upgrading this weekend.
This is usually not a "ROM problem" specifically.
But your installed rom may include some software that uses the g-sensor to make your screen rotate. Changescreen, gyrator or g-sen are some examples of such software.
This is what you have to tweak so that all apps do not rotate automatically.
But you definitely can't "turn off the g-sensor".... just add crashing apps to the rotating software black list.
i always mistakenly touch the wrong button when making call and picking up the phone when the phone is tilt! how to disable it? many thanks!
Try uninstalling the program that rotates it. The native Sense doesn't do that.

we need a bit more information. The way how to manage the rotation depends on the application that does it. so, did you install thrid party software for rotation or did you change the settings in registry under whitelist for the G-Sensor sdk by HTC?
thanks! i have install the latest BsB, i have tried to uncheck the box of phone but cannot find which item is correct actually! please give me some idea! many thanks! what is the correct name item i should uncheck!??
Im fine now because i flashed a custom rom so im reset but i used bsb tweaks to rotate dialer which worked but didnt like it rotating in call so i changed my mind. I removed "phone" from the permissions in bsb tweaks and although the dialer screen no longer rotated the in call screen still did. Didnt know why as i had removed permissions.
Hi I don't know if this is the right place to put this info.
I see lots of people are having the dialer battery drain issue in pretty much every version of android 2.3.3. And I haven't seen a working solution anywhere other than upgrade to a newer version of android.
Any way, I'm using a HTC legend a gingerbread version 2.3.3, and I have always had the dreaded dialer battery drain issue.
I have found a work around that helps stop the drain, at least on the HTC legend 2.3.3 version I'm using.
In my case it is simply having the line
gsm.proximity.enable=false
In the build.prop
It would seam to stop the proximity sensor from working with the dialer part of phone.
The only side effect I have seen so far is that the screen won't turn off when u hold phone upto your ear, you can of course turn screen off with power button, at least from a legend point of view.
I hope this information will help others with android 2.3.3 on other phones that also have dialer battery drain.

Hi, here's a bit of an update for those that are interested, even though the proximity sensor has been disabled for phone calls after adding the line to build.prop, here is a work around to allow the proxy to turn off screen again.
Down load "proximity screen off" from the market, in the settings, select enable during calls only.
Now on my phone the other settings seam to be a bit screwy so you'll have to play with them to suite your device for the way you want it to work.
I am still testing to see how battery life is, but so far its looking good.
If you feel like it, I would appreciate some feedback regarding these mods.
Thanks

another point of attack
So.. It seems CyanogenMod team has identified these proximity sensor issues and actually fixed most all of them (on the devices they support). The answer is complicated and nestled into the code. But basically one could say there has been an omission of suspend and wake calls that now make MANY HTC devices not function properly. So, besides this there are SoD issues with some devices after a call.. Same type fix used to resolve and that one usually is resolved with an OTA fairly quickly... But ummm, why can't HTC users ban together and make HTC perfect their sources? They are after all the manufacturer and Sense roms are just copies of their source (modified here and there perhaps)... so the problems have been identified, solutions have been committed by an OPEN SOURCE team... good lord HTC, this has been going on since the Desire.. and just browsing I found Legend, Wildfire S and several others effected..
Great work-a-rounds btw... I just really think the consumers should petition on these issues as they are all related and fixable. Most just hear battery life sucks on the Android and assume their phone going dead after 5 hrs is normal... Well it's not. Just my 2c.

Well my friend , I was a noob about 7 or 8 months ago too, I did lots of reading and learning and used Google to find my answers.
But here's some quick help to get you started....
Before you do anything if you haven't already do a nandroid backup.
You are using ogos gingerbread so you must be rooted yeah, OK so next we need to find out how u rooted, if you went down the hboot 1.02 and unlocked boot loader method, that is great makes my job much easier.
Build.prop is a file located in the
/system/ folder
It is basically a text file that contains a list of settings/commands/startup options.
In my ogos rom the command in question has a # in front of it which disables that line.
You need to edit that file and remove the #. To do this I used es file explorer with root turned on in settings, then just went to /system and opened it with es file explorer.
Or you could get build.prop editor from market and add the line that way, however you need to leave out the = and put the stuff in front in the top field and the 1 In the other.
Simple as that....
If you are say hboot 1.01 and s-on then that's a lot harder for me :-(
You'll only be able to do it via fastboot method, reboot phone into fast boot menu volume down then power. Connect to your PC, it is properly set up isn't it yeah? use android commander to copy that file to your PC, edit file using notepad then copy it back.
If you done it right, good if not, ummm you might need to search for answers for to what you need.
You could always send your phone to me and pay me I only charge $100 per hour lolol
