VoIP on Samsung i637 Jack - Non-Touchscreen Windows Mobile Other

Did anyone manage to make VoIP calling working on Samsung Jack (i637) ?
The phone runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard (Smartphone) - and no matter which VoIP CAB I tried (along with the SIP config) I cannot get the "Internet Calling" option in the Phone settings...

XDA II and Nokia 6310i Won't stay paired

When I set up a new BT pairing between the XDA2 and the Nokia, the devices pair, then the Nokia says "Disconnected: Pocket_PC"
Then when I try using Vito Dialer (a bluetooth dialing program), the Nokia asks me "Pair with Pocket_PC?", then when I hit "Accept" it immediately says "Disconnected: Pocket_PC" without dialling.
You may wonder why I need a BT dialer program on my XDA2? The reason is I want to control my work mobile as well as make personal calls on the XDA2.
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks,
Jason

Voice Dial over Bluetooth on XDA ATOM (does not want)

Hi everyone ... It looks like ATOM does not support voice dial over bluetooth - checked it with 3 headets - HBH-660, Jabra JX-10 and Plantronics 640 ... it receives incoming calls directly to headset but fails to launch built-in Voice Speed Dial when you push button on headset ...
It works great on I-mate JAMin and K-JAM (both Windows Mobile 5.0) so i am quite curious why it does not work with ATOM ...
Do we need special patch or new bluetooth driver to make it working - really stupid to use the device without voicedialing ...
Please help :?:
The Atom unlike HTC Devices, has no VoiceDialing from BT Headset Bulitin.
Currently there isnt solution to this menace.
Maybe in the next ROM Upgrade the atom will support this.

Voice dial over Bluetooth on ATOM
Well i decided to install the patch aimed to launch voice dial over Bluetooth on I-mate JAM or XDA mini (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=23558) which works perefect ... i ran this patch on O2 XDA ATOM and now it launches over Bluetooth standard PHONE application!!!!!! .. I was curious how can i make it working on ATOM given that i can't find Voice Speed dial exe file (only shortcut to this file in Windows/Start Menu/Programs) to copy it to Windows directory .. As you all know our default voice software is Cyberon Voice Commander .. Or we need to adjust the registry to launch it ...Any ideas how ?
The Atom by defaul launches the PhoneApp Once youve pressed the Headset button.
so this patch changed nothing.

Any Windows Mobile device capable of VoIP?!?

Hi,
As VoIP is a major requirement for me, I am currently stuck to Nokia E-series Smartphones, as they are the only ones with an embedded VoIP functionality that works beautifully (both earpiece and speakerphone), and that can keep connected to a WiFi router for two days (to receive VoIP calls) without getting discharged. And besides the embedded VoIP, there is the possibility of Fring, which connects to SIP, Skype, Google Talk and MSN, and works normally through the earpiece (besides also being able to automatically connect to WiFi when available, and switch to 3G when not, all automatically).
As of now, I have not found ANY Windows Mobile device which is capable of doing any of this. Fring is also available on Windows Mobile, but it only transmits sound through the speakerphone, which makes it pointless. And let's not even talk about using WiFi, as I have yet to see a WM device which can keep it on for more than 2-3 hours without making the battery flat (and I am not even rediscussing the ridiculous inability of WM devices to automatically connect to WiFi as needed, and fall back to 3G, etc., something that Nokia devices do since many years).
Out of all these obvious inabilities of WM devices, the most annoying one for me is the speakerphone one, meaning the fact that all VoIP applications on these devices are only able to send sound through the speakerphone.
So, does anyone know a WM6 Qwerty device (Smartphone or PocketPC) that does transmit sound through the earpiece when used with VoIP (say using Fring or Skype)?
Thanks.
HTC
HTC no!
Is very bad option for VoIP calls. No work good.
With AGEphone Mobile 2.5 Speakerphone Edition you can turn any Windows Mobile device into a capable VoIP-phone. It supports the internal speaker on a row of HTC-devices and support for more is planned!
Using the VoIP drivers available HERE theres alot of HTC devices which can use SIP based VoIP, skype should also work fine however you have to use thier software.

ROM Recommendation for VOIP

Can u guys recommend me which is the best ROM for VOIP to work properly? Does the front speaker issue still exist in WM 6.1?
I understand using headset is the only option to get the voip working , but was wondering if there's solutions out there already?

What service do you have for VoIP?

SIP based service..I use www.pennytel.com
I am already using voip on my kaiser with official WM 6 ROM, but sound comes from the rear speaker
Front speaker issue is device dependent not WM version. AFAIK only a few devices work correctly. These devices had native VoIP at one time too. My latest VoIP cab (located here) can also connect with the GSM610 codec (kudos to dridders for figuring this out) which is much more efficient over a 3G connection. It also eliminates the one-way audio issues.
As an added benefit, the installation will work over a bluetooth handsfree as well. I've actually connected up over 3G then handed the phone functions off to my car handsfree w/o issues. Audio quality doesn't match GSM of course but its usable. For the most part this is a technology demo however. The only time I've found it really useful is when I'm in WiFi coverage but have no phone service.
I use asterisk with some providers such as pennytel ( Australia ) and other european providers. I'd really love to have my Kaiser working properly over WiFi (I didn't try over 3G yet).
I use to have a Hermes that was working properly (Ear Speaker) - though there was a lot of jitter - I now moved to the kaiser and VoIP (SIP) is finally working properly (no jitter) but only through the loudspeaker. I now have to use a headset...
I'd really like to have this finally working. I'm currently stuck to two stage dialing through asterisk (with unlimited plan to a few numbers) to use VoIP from my Cell.
Does anyone have some background info on how the VoIP plugin should be talking to the ear speaker (does it have to go through the "radio rom"? is it seen as a secondary speaker? etc.) and if anyone has ever fixed such an issues with other WM6 handsets?

As you are on the same boat, can I ask you which Bluetooth headset are you using? There are quite a few headset recommendations out there, but I wanna know from someone who is using it for voip. Thanks

Hey Sleuth, does your cab include the schap's setupvoip program?
Hi guys,
I use Sleuth's WM6VoIP and Schap's Setup VoIP version 0.3, had no problems getting it to work, tested both WiFi and HSDPA. Only thing is that I have to use the headset or BT cause of the well known WM back speaker issue.
I have no problems connecting to company's PBX thru WiFi using VoIP Setup, can register and make calls.
When I use the OpenVPN to tunnel to corporate network my SIP softphone application keeps registring using the WiFi network card IP address, not the TAP VPN adapter's one. Therefore voice can't be routed correctly
1. Is there a way to choose which Network adapter to use when using Internet calling and VoIP Setup?
2. Can anyone recommend any other application that's 'smart' enough to have the option of selecting the network adapter to use?
Thanks,
T.
VOIP while connected via USB?
Is it possible to use voip on kaiser when the device is connected to Internet via active sync USB method? sounds stupid, but if there's this would b a good solution to use voip in office where certain ports are blocked in office wifi.

Bluetooth hands free Caller ID and Contacts Issues

Hey folks,
I have a couple of questions regarding the bluetooth hands free profile and Caller ID and Contacts.
First issue: I use a Garmin Nuvi 760 as a speakerphone in my car via the hands free bluetooth profile. The 760 can't access the recent calls on my HTC Polaris (Touch Cruise) running the official WM 6.1 ROM...it just says, "no data available" when I try to access it. My old phone (T-Mobile MDA / HTC Wizard with the official WM 5 ROM) worked fine. The Wizard happily sent my recent call data to the GPS. If I remember correctly, the Wizard would prompt me the first time the GPS tried to access the call data, and then it just worked after that until I deleted the bluetooth device pairing. When I receive a call the Wizard also sent the name from my contacts to the Caller ID display on the 760, and my Polaris doesn't...it just sends the phone number of the incoming call.
Second issue: at home I use a XLink BT bluetooth hub to use my "land line" phones with my Polaris. It also uses the hands free bluetooth profile to connect to the phone and then emulates a "land line" for my other phones via my home telephone wiring. When I receive a call through the XLink I also don't get the caller name along with the Caller ID data...it just sends the phone number. I also have my girlfriend's 4 year old Motorola Razr v3 connected to the XLink hub and the contact name data comes through to the cordless "land line" handset just fine on the Razr.
I'm pretty sure these issues are connected, and I'm also pretty sure that there must be a setting somewhere on my Polaris to allow this to work, but so far I haven't been able to find it. Do any of you guys know of a setting or registry key that will allow me to enable this functionality? I'd really appreciate some advice.
Thanks!
Enable SAP Settings?
Hi
I think that this may be an issue to do with "SAP" or Remote SIM Access in bluetooth settings.
Cheers

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately Remote SIM Access is already on...I swear I've tried every setting I could find to try to figure this out.
Yeah, something is definitely just turned off somewhere (probably in the registry). I can dial from my phonebook from my nuvi via the handsfree bluetooth profile with my old phone (Wizard), but when I connect with my Polaris the option to dial from the phonebook is disabled (grayed out). Something is explicitly disabled somewhere...I just need to figure out which registry keys I need to change.
I'm really surprised I'm having such a hard time finding this info on the 'net.
