What option is missing? It should be Settings\Sounds and Notifications\Notifications or going to Settings Tab\Menu\All Settings\Sounds and Notifications\Notifications.
You can customize LED notifications (toggle on/off) with BsB Tweaks.
*message notification on/off
*voice mail notification on/off
*call notification on/off
*reminder notification on/off

Try this:
Enable LED Notification Setting in Sound and Notifications:
If you want your LED to flash when you have a new message, missed call or voicemail.. well you can't as it is greyed out. However the following registry entries can be modified to enable them.
New Message:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877 D65B-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}]
"AvailableOptions"=dword: change to 15
Missed Call:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877 D660-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}]
"AvailableOptions"=dword: change to 15
Voice Mail:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877 D661-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}]
"AvailableOptions"=dword: change to 15

Does anyone know a registry entry to enable alerts for incoming text messages?
Thanks
Have you tried the settings?
This is changed in settings, sounds & notifications, notifications tab, In the "Event" pull down select "Messaging: New text message" then check the box for "play sound" and change the sound. This setting is muted if the ringer / sound is muted however.
This is driving me CRAZY...
I have a new Inspire phone for about 3 days now and I am coming from Windows Mobile (Tilt 2).
With the initial setup I was able to select a certain sound for email notification. This is NOT for GMail notification. It is for the email client in the ROM (stock).
Now I want to change that notification sound and I cannot find where to select a different sound. So I sheepishly put my pride aside and ask: where do I change the email notification sound?
Thanks!
Mail/menu/more/settings/notification settings.

That was the first place I went to. Not there though.
What I have at Mail/menu/more/settings/notification settings is:
Email notifications (checkbox)
Notification sound (checkbox)
Notification vibrate (checkbox)
Nothing where I can change the actual notification sound.

Hit the personalize button, then click notification sound, and you'll be able to change the email sound.

THANKS !!!
That did it. SPB Shell 3D did away with Personalize. Couldn't get to Personalize even from inside Settings. It just returned me to Home.
Thanks again.
Hello,
When you press the volume changer, you can toggle Ring+Vibrate, Vibrate, and Silent, depending what modes you have set in settings. I have noticed that when you have both ring and vibrate set in settings, there is no toggle for just ring, no vibrate. I switch frequently between ring only and vibrate and ring, and dont want to have to go into setting and disable vibrate every time I want to change from ring+vibrate to just ring.
So the question/request is, is there any way in the registry or some other method to add another toggle profile for when both ring and vibrate are checked in settings? If so then we could add Ring only when both ring and vibrate are checked.
Thanks

yeah...I miss this option......
Perhaps there are applications (also homebrew) that allow you to create a tile that leads quickly to the ring tone options, but I think nothing more.
It would be interesting if there were other methods
Hi,
I'm using Google Hangouts for sending SMS.
When I receive a text message, it uses the system default notification sound (which for me is Pollux), not the one I choose...
In Hangouts settings, under notifications, this is displayed :
Default ringtone (Pyxis)
This is my phone ringtone, not my default notification sound !
If I touch the setting to change it, the sound I choose is selected, which is Hangouts Message... But when I receive an SMS, it is Pollux that is played...
I cleared data and cache of Hangouts and this doesn't change a thing.
Anybody got a clue ?
Thanks.
EDIT:
Nevermind, I found the answer to my problem. Here it is :
For the first time with this phone, I'm using Cyanogenmod's profiles... and by default, it overrides SMS notifications. I just configured my profiles so my notifications were not overridden and everything works normally !
The displayed notification ringtone is still wrong, but that is cosmetic and I'm OK with it...
EDIT2 :
I need more coffee - the default is NOT to override SMS notifications... I will redo my profiles
Is it possible to disable the vibrate notification when receiving e-mails (using the stock e-mail app)? I want the visual icon to show up in the notification bar with no sound, just NOT vibrate. I want to keep the vibrate notifications for MMS, calls, etc..just not e-mails. This seems like a simple request but I can't seem to figure it out.
If its anything like the Gmail app then open up settings, inside settings, click on your Address [email protected], Then its inside there...
( I don't use the email app, sorry.. just a thought )
Settings --> General --> Notifications --> Select corresponding account --> UNcheck "Vibration" (unchecked by default for me)

Thanks for your response. The "vibration" option is grey so I can't change it. It is off by default anyways, but it still vibrates.
This is driving me crazy. Any recommendations for a different email app?
Open email. Touch 3 dots in upper right hand corner. Touch settings. Open notifications. Select email account . Turn off vibration.

If you're like me and always keep your phone on vibrate, this is actually a far more annoying issue than you would imagine. (The same fix can be used for Google Hangouts.)
If vibrate is not currently enabled under notifications and your phone keeps vibrating at you, it's actually because of your notification sound. If you change the notification sound to "Silent", your phone will no longer vibrate.

Yes, I always keep my phone on vibrate. If I switch it to silent, wouldn't that disable the vibrate from sms and calls?
No, those will still vibrate. You don't want to switch the ring tone settings, just the notification sound for your email. Go into settings, notifications, and then for the notification sound select "Silent".
