I know there are many posts regarding rainbow screen but none of them really describe my situation
My co-worker recently bought a G1 from somebody. She did an update on the phone and once it booted it was stuck on the rainbow screen saying:
DREA100 PVT 32B
HBOOT-0.95.0000
CPLD-4
RADIO-1.22.12.29
Sep 2 2008
Serial0
I don't know if this is due to her phone being previously rooted and she did the tmobile update, but is there anyway of fixing this?
I've tried the following:
I tried UNROOTING (in case it was rooted) formatting SD card to FAT32 flashing back to RC29 by downloading the DREAIMG.nbh file and camera+power and running it. The update goes fine, but once it finishes and i press the action key it goes right back to the rainbow screen saying the same.
Please help
Is it possible that the button that puts you into this menu is stuck on?
Also I think you are in the wrong forum. You should be in the Q&A forum.
Agreed that this should be moved to Q&A.
Are you saying the phone only boots into fastboot mode? If so, I would guess that the camera button is stuck down.
Or are you saying that once in this mode, you can't reboot? And you've tried CALL + END + MENU to reboot?
i dont mean to sound arrogant but have you tried pulling the battery?
Yeah, everything seems to indicate just rebooting it or taking the battery out.
Start asking your questions in the right sub-forum (Q&A) (Theme) or even in (General), or simply search.......Final result will be a ban for you up too 3 days.
Thanks

Hi,
After I was trying to to an unlock and not sure what happened. After the 1st step ok KaiserCustomRUU, the screen started to have colored dots all over and was stuck there. After it rebooted the phone doesnt have sound come on during the cingular splash.
Also after the Splash screen happens, the phone screen goes blank. I see that it syncs to ActiveSync.
Need help.... what should I do?
Hi :
may be you can find the solution here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354061
didnt help
I saw the thread you talked about. It refers to a blank screen during an unlock process. Mine is different, it does this when I just reboot the phone.
Question:
1) Any idea how to fix this?
2) The phone syncs with Active Sync. Can i just install a new ROM and will that fix the issue?
Please do not cross-post the same question to different forums. This question should be asked in the already-existing thread of the unlocking method you are having difficulty with.
mistake
sorry that was a mistake on my end. How do I delete this post or close it out?

I have merged your two redundant threads into one.
Hello all, this is my first time posting on this forums, although I have been lurking them thoroughly the last couple of days, since I was able to finally buy myself my first Android Phone: HTC Chacha.
Being completely new to android, it was hard for me to adapt and learn all the new terms (like root, rom, etc.) and finally the day before yesterday I decided to dive in and try to mess around with my Chacha because I was tired of the internal memory running low and the lack of awesome stuff I could install, like a Custom ROM.
I have followed the guides in this forums, and I am glad to say that I have my chacha unlocked via the bootloader thingy from the official htc website (it says UNLOCKED when I open the menu when booting the device with the power and down volume keys) , I have it rooted and, somehow, I was able to install Clockwork Recovery Mod version 4 to try and backup the rom that came with the phone (from Telcel, since I'm from Mexico) and install a specific Rom (I want to install Stock Plus, here's the link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690088)
However, I have failed terribly and I am just about to tear my hair out due to frustration. :silly:
Every time I run the Clockwork Recovery Mod from the Recovery option in the menu that appears if you press the power and down volume keys, no matter what options I choose (backup, install from sd, power off, etc) NO ACTION takes place and it just stays stuck in the logo of the hat with the orange circle. I have tried waiting for hours, taking the battery on and off, rebooting (is that the same as restarting?) the cellphone and googling like crazy.
I hate threads were people post because they didn't take their time to do proper research or just typing a couple of words on google. But I SWEAR I have been trying this for 6 hours, I have tried different searches and I am just about to give up. Please help me!
Is there something I need to install? Something I need to check? I admit I AM a noob when it comes to terms like "flashing" and such, but if you are patient and guide me step by step I promise I will do my best to follow the steps without annoying you.
I have read a lot of guides, posts in this forum and others, and finally decided that the last desperate measure had to be used: Ask for help.
If someone has ANY idea of what I'm doing wrong, please guide me. And I'm sorry if this post is too long, but I just had too much to say due to my lack of reaching goals for today, lol.
Thank you for taking your time to read this

Go into recovery like you have just described, once in recovery, before choosing any items like install from SD card of backup press the volume key (either up or down) multiple times until you see something like "back menu enabled" displayed in white text. After that choose any option you want, you'll be good to go.
Use the "enter" key on your keyboard to activate CWM options.

THANK YOU! I did just like you said and the "back menu enabled" DID appear in white text. I was finally able to make a backup of the rom I had in the phone. I am a very happy person right now!

I have given both of you "Thanks!"
I am very grateful
Hello. I have a htc one s ville c2(s3 proc) and a long time ago i installed a custom rom (trickdroid 5.0.0 ) and it started to work hard, wi-fi not working, and things like this.So i decided to go back to stock. My phone's cid is htc_032 wich means that is for Eastern europe. I downloaded a ruu 2.15......... and i installed it. The mobile network was working very hard (100kb/s) so i think the baseband is not good. Then i found an ota for htc_032 and i tried to install it. i relocked the hboot, then flashed the firmware.zip with fastboot. All fine, but after the install i candt even open my phone or enter in hboot........ please help...
If you can't even turn it on (no light on buttons), and you can't get into bootloader or recovery, then my friend I have somebad news for you... Your phone is probably hard bricked, which means your motherboard could be dead. You'll ned to take it to the repair. But if you still have warranty, then you can try to lie about it, and say, that you battery was low in the evening and you forgot to recharge it. When you wake up the next morning your phone didn't start, and even the recharing didn't help any more. Or use your imagination and come up with soem excuse. THey might repair or change it for free.
When i bricked it it was on a stock rom so....maybe it's not dead because it charges
long press power button, wait for the blinks and then hold volume down key. , this is due to you have upgraded firmware in which boot.img is included and not the rom itself.
still nothing ( . I hold down de power button for 1 minute and nothing.........
If you hold down Power for ~10 seconds, then hold Volume Down and tap Power you should end up in bootloader and you can rework it from there. If that fails, try your luck with an RUU (but that's a long shot since it's probably a firmware issue). Other than that you're probably stuck.
Edit: is the phone detected in adb/fastboot?

Please do not post questions in the dev section. And dont duplicate threads, i have already moved the one you posted in the wrong device forum and you were informed about it. I understand you want to get your issue sorted, buts thats no excuse to pollute our great forum with duplicate threads.
Please continue in the original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2374781
So I booted into TWRP and wiped *everything* to attempt to flash a CM nightly and give my phone a fresh start with the new ROM, but then I vaguely remembered reading that CWM is the only way to get CM11 to flash without issues (might be wrong about that one, though). Anyhow, I let my fingers move faster than my brain for a few seconds and rebooted my phone with no OS installed.
Now I'm stuck at a blank white screen with the green HTC logo in the middle and some red text at the bottom which reads, "This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action."
I'm used to seeing this screen before getting into TWRP, but it has never sat for so long (about 15 minutes at the time of writing) without doing anything before. I tried to list devices with ADB, but nothing shows up. I tried to use fastboot to reboot to the bootloader, but I get "<waiting for device>" and nothing ever happens.
I looked elsewhere in this forum for a solution, but everything I read implies that I can still get to TWRP (I can't) or back into the bootloader (I can't). Did I just brick my phone? What exactly is this screen I'm seeing? How do I get back to the bootloader? Any help would be thoroughly appreciated. Seriously.
EDIT: So I just found another thread by the name of "I'm in big trouble." - first thing that came to *my* mind - and read through it on a whim. Turns out, pressing Power+Vol_Up+Vol_Down forced the phone to reboot into the bootloader! I breathed a huge sigh of relief and am forging ahead. So, unnecessary thread, I guess.
Hi I've been searching for a while now but I can't find a topic on this yet.
Recently it rooted my phone but now when I try turning it on it gets stuck at the loading screen, ok. Now then I managed to get to the boot loader from here I go to the recovery option, now here is the problem when I select the recovery option the phone will either go back to the boot loader or will not turn back on. Also in this state my PC cannot see my phone as a device. PS I cant even get to the error screen most people seem to get when they go to the recovery option.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Hello,
I moved you other thread to the correct section, in the future please refrain from starting a second thread with the same topic.
You post will be addressed as soon as possible, no need to start a second thread.
