I like my ROMS naked

Welcome
PS: The kitchen Multi isn't final, it's another test version, I needed some feedback on the new cooking process whether there aren't any bugs.

To me no problems at all with both versions

@ Pisca:
1.- Congratulations for giving the step as a Chef
2.- Thanks a lot for bringing the newest builds cooked for our Kaisers
3.- Thank you for the double effort to cook 2 and not only one ROM, that´s remarkable
Downloading as I type and next in the flashing list.
PD Is there a way to post screenshots of the 2 new features (Contacts and Candy Eye)?

Luiggi
THanks
About screenshots, for Contacts on 23420 you may have look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4633511&postcount=1123
For Candy Eye, I read that but I must confess that after flashed 23060 didn't notice that, then I've moved to 23420, sorry
ps: I've allways had problems to upload photos, I must learn how to do it

Hi, Congrats on the new ROM's! I love running the bleeding edge..lol. I just have a couple of quick questions...
What is the storage capacity available to the user after installation?
and
Would we need to flash a stock ROM before flashing this build?
Thanks!

Storage capacity more than 100mg, flash stock rom is allways advisable to avoid issues
ps: I never do it must confess

Wow, that was fast!
Congrats on your first cook! And a double-entree at that ;-)
Downloading as I type. Will flash to my phone and let you guys know how it goes.
Thanks Pisca!
UPDATE:
Started the flash (23060) at 6:33pm (CST) and finished in only four minutes. I freaked out when the phone seemed to freeze on the last flash screen but after what seemed ages, I finally got to the configuration (tap here, tap there, tap tap tap everywhere) screen. After a brief reboot, the phone came up and automatically asked if I wanted to configure the phone for T-Mobile (my carrier).
The SIM manager was easily located and all of my contacts moved over fairly quickly. I had warned a friend earlier of my intentions and made them my first call. The phone seems to work just fine, the volume rocker (wheel) worked great and all the buttons seem to be where they need to be.
Sent a text message, the keyboard works right. The softkey indicators are not directly over the softkeys, but having used this phone for over a year, I knew what to push and when anyway.
My only issue so far is the Apps Manager and the clock are mixed together on the screen. I will attempt to upload some screenshots later, but I have a lot of programs to get installed before I do that ;-)
The new PocketIE isn't one of my favorite things about this version of 6.5. It doesn't seem to render pages correctly for me, either in Mobile or Desktop mode. No worries there though, since I never intend to use it once I get Opera Mobile installed...
The default T-Mobile Data setup put me on wap.voicestream.com, but every single automated connection setup I've ever used has done this as well. It only takes a second to change this to internet2.voicestream.com.
My battery seems to be draining pretty quickly. I actually watched as it dropped from 80% before I tested and typed everything above this and now it's at 77%. May not seem like much to you guys, but that's a significant drop for me, at least 1 battery point every five minutes. This is probably an issue with the radio version I have.
Could anyone point me to the correct radio to use with this particular ROM? The phone is unusable if I can't leave the house for more than four hours without my phone dying :-(
Next I'll be installing my 8gb card and dropping some of my favorite programs on there.
Great job on this cook, I can tell I will have lots of fun playing with this one

so asking what seems obvious....
Ok, I keep flashing etc. Haven't done these two yet.
But is there a way to merge the branches? I want the eye candy and also want the new contacts program. Not a chef, so can it be done?

Not trying to be "that guy" but I wanted to just pop on here to say how much fun I'm having with this build.
File Explorer is located under start->accessories->file explorer instead of the main start menu, which is a little confusing. Once I get Resco Explorer going, this will not be a problem. For others, it may be annoying until they get used to it.
After several hours of playing around, I closed out a few programs and checked RAM, sitting at 44% used, which means that the OS is much thinner than any I have used before. I've seen AthineOS come close to this right after boot or after I run cleanRAM. I've noticed that the blogs are saying this is due to changes made by MS for this particular release. If so, I have to say that the future looks awesome for WM6.5!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention: Landscape seems to be working perfectly for me. No long lags, stays in landscape when progs exit, etc.

Flashed the 2 already
I flashed the 2 ROMs and played for a couple of hours with each and seems that almost everything is operational, however I felt not good response during finger scrolling and in some cases the items don´t react to finger or even stylus pressure and the action botton had to be used.
The new contact manager looks very good and for me probably this is the most attractive feature.
I wouldn´t like to talk about the cosmetics (i.e. icons) since I understand that the two ROMs were put together in a very short time, however I have to say that icon for the chome customization doesn´t have a good looking appeareance.
Thanks again Pisca and keep the good work!

Calling all WM5 or WM6 chefs

Ok, Im working with the mUn edition of WM6. Anyone know how he disabled all but the password setup screen?
Ok i found only one instance pointing to welcome.exe which is supposed to launch this. help me out. what does this registry key mean?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSWELCOME]
"3"=dword:0
"2"=dword:0
"1"="welcome.exe"
"0"="Welcome"
Yeah', i'd like to help out, as i started to think about cooking My own rom'',
mUn's may be one of better choices since it's quite clean and so on..
But what else was there about "calling chefs?'"
1. clean,
2. well documented(as i pointed out in mobiz edition thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298692 )
3. STABLE(working Most BASIC Functionalities like Wifi, MMS, Sim card phonebook usability)
I found that 98% of battery drain problems i've heard thus far were all caused by some today component, or other app that worked in background, and only when certain setting had been changed did ALL started to be baad.
"all of a sudden"
Keep up a GOOD WORK, set some clear objective what goal/ target do You want to achieve with this rom(speed, stability, minimality, cleaningness, usability>) so people will know what to expect and not to be dissappointed..
I am a little tired of: "my rom is faster than yours" approach..
i'd rather hear: this rom "feels" quicker in response, and is stable(optionally rock solid )
Hope that this "clean fixed" rom will have soon "a definitive guide" with recommended installs(freeware for ex.) to have as a start clean, stable rom, and greatest funcionality(additionall free soft installable by user),
Just so our Wizards will Stop being "toys" and will become TOOLS with a "LOT" extra(not just little extra).. as i read the other day of "one of us" giving it to his 14 year old daughter(nothing against young people, or girls), just..
i want to use a solid TOOL, even if I will goof off with it, and use it like 14 year old.
Cheers to ALL out ther Working, so WE CAN Enjoy our micro computers.

Here is what I am trying to accomplish, I want to make the mUn's edition as stripped as possible keeping it together but giving a solid building ground for other chefs and also a good clean playground for users who just want a ROM without the mess. Once I accomplish 2 or 3 more things the Ultimate Fixed mUns version will be released. First I have got to get this welcome thing fixed. Until then, Im not even working on anything else for the ROM
Wow.. : )
That's a VERY GOOD approach there..
A step by step.
That's how some things CAN Get done : )
Thanks Man : )
I Think We all can use that : )
I'd like to start some kind of central repository/ interactive table with a Comparison of diffrent roms :futures, prog version, posssible issues: strong points, weak points.
There had already been so many threads like: best freeware soft for wizard, and since there are unorganized comments all over thread finding usefull, NOT Doubled application names, links, descriptions, becomes very hard if not impossible.
Some kind of ranking of apps ?
that may be more to xda-dev guys/ site owner/administrator if it could be incorporated into structures of BB
Possibly it could look like auto rom cooker, that i've seen for some older pda..
maybe it could be crossreferenced for different platforms, like alpine, wizard, himalaya, but centrally connected to one database so more data will be gathered and make it more universal: sometimes guys from another forum know of some software, that other users of WM5/6 could find usefull, but do not have time to go to every of 5 000 threads looking for a(good, or any in that case) free MMS Backup utility !?
.. found a couple of utils. for sms backup, saying they will back up email, sms, and mms.. well, they do only sms,
and considering that i have flashed my wizadr about 15 times during last week.., trying to use wizard as primary phone and keep track of contacts, is impossible without efficient backup system ..
Yet so many soft is being installed without EVEr knowing what for, and or how to use it and are already on the rom cooked.
Some are being used everyday during normal operations and which use and "fixed problems credit"are being given to a "new WM system"
I think it should be a cross(bow)referenced, or interweaved: forum and WIKI so forum will become more organized and more usefull to the community. And WIKI part will give ability to add more descriptions, and make building a database of app references, usage, and rating without making it all unclear and timewaste for scrolling through .. well an "off topic" comments , opinions still could be added under interactive portion of wiki..for all who like to get and give opinions(like youtube's sectioned view: 1.video,2.related videos, 3 comments, 4 unrelated latest videos.
: 1.File, app, or rom reference portion, 2.related threads/topics, comparisons, 3. forum comments thread 4. unrelated threads, comments, apps, comparisons/ news.
with system like this we all could save some serious time and not get overloaded by unnecessary info.
/time to get some rest
Cheers!

How about we call it xdawiz? I already own the domain and have a forum up. Ill let you put it together and make you a super moderator if you want. I am working with my own cooked mess for rom building and i have it down to 2 batch files, baring the fact you dont screw up. then there are a couple more if you do. Been trying to write an app but got too caught up in the muns release.
As it sits, i cant really get involved in another project until i get my welcome issue fixed.

I think it's a good idea to at least keep the screen alignment wizard in after a hardreset because I heard the the screen would be useless otherwise.
NTS, are you trying to re-enable it?
In terms of clean, it would be nice to have the original keyboard back as well as no other themes. THAT is a clean ROM. If all of the registry fixes are in there, then we all have something to work with.
JMHO.

Keyboard is nice even if it's not original. It's still clean though.
@NotTooSmart: check your PM, I found something I might be useful to solve this.
I strongly believe that the ROM should be as close as possible to that which should have been released by M$. I do think the keyboard ought to be an option (a separate cab file), but in order to have a TRULY vanilla ROM, that and other extras cannot be included. If you include the keyboard, then it's just a matter of time before everything else ends up finding it's way in along with it.

I hear ya..
Well, doing that would be something really good, but i would like to do this project in a most usefull way: of greatest benefit for all, and i am not sure if setting up a separate web page is a good idea, or maybe integration into xda-developers could do it../
would it be possible to set it up in a way, so that other site could use databases /to display INSIDE of forum structure..
If so, than we could have some serious interest comming from other good sites that will be interested in an UNIFIED approach to reviewing and inputting evaluated data.
As far as Keyboard..the skin.. yes it is cool, but for some reason problem arose with being unable to use phone pad: as it is not switching to it: staying at "cool skin"..
maybe some file is missing for that functionalty to be enabled..?

I have fixed the phone pad issue. That was easy. I have tested and it is working on my phone right now. The only issue I have with making this a truly vanilla rom is, I didnt do any of the work to the base os. I can remove the Aero and any other tag marks set in by mun, but this will still be his rom, but instead of calling it repacked, we gonna call it stripped. LOL. As for the keypad, that is easy to change, but again, then i am taking things out that make this muns rom. Unless I get his ok, I cant do that.

Not really a plug, but if its already being paid for might as well use it. I was, up till the mun rom, working ona a gui applications that I was going to call XDAWiz for build roms. LOL. These things are in my head before they hit paper. As for now, i need to fix the damn welcome screen. Someone took my thread in a diffrent direction. LOL.
are you trying to make so it skips some of the screens when you first flash it
if so is that much of chore to to tap a few more extra taps when flashing a rom

No, lol. I want to make it so you have to go through the whole setup rather than only doing the alignment and password. I want the ability to setup the email, timezone, date, all of it.
i know you prob done this ages ago but the orwell version has this have you looked at that version yet
is it a modifed welcome.exe? I've never looked into it much, but if i run welcome.exe on Faria's rom all i get is screen alignment not the initial setup.

I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANKS!!! For the WM6 ROM.

The latest ROM "wm6-for-tornado-perfect-english-edition-20070810" which can be found at CoolCode(click me) is Flawless!!!
All I had to do is add-on the "WM6GSMUPDATE" and the "t9 English". After that it was basically all about setting Reg to put Pocket IE and Email in Storage Card and Install all the apps I wanted.
You guys did a AMAZING JOB and I wanted to create a new thread so it gets attention. Thanks alot.
My SDA which I had running on the lastest ImateSP5m ROM actually runs MUCH smoother and less buggy.
And also Thanks alot to whoever is responsible for creating the "Extras" Zip file. The "SP5 keys" cab came in handy since I have SDA. Many other Cab came in handy too.
And thanks to the guy who created posted the T9 text cab (same as Imate ROM).
I will be donating to this site & to you guys.
Hi
thanx for the thanx.lol
i'm looking into releasing a newer build of wm6 for the tornado pretty soon so get ready for an even better build!

Hum very good news Thx for all job and all cookers.
I also want to thank all the contributers. With Phil's Alpha we could see the light. I was planning to replace my SP5 and I started liking it again. With Andot's release most bugs were solved and many improvements were made. And now you are talking (duke_stix) about never build which seems fantastic already. Thanks again to all for the good job.
Go and spam andot's site Google ads link, you can contribute abit, have been spamming his ads on each visit, whenever there is a new build
I want to thanks to Andot, very very much !!! :x :x :x
@duke_stix - I had a go at porting the Vox XIP the other day, can't say it was wholly successful, phone froze on the splashscreen but at least it didnt go straight to the bootloader, means theres some hope of porting it

Just curious why you chose to use older camera app
I saw the list of apps looks pretty impressive...but just have a question why you decided to base the ROM w/o the newest camera version.
Looks nice though...might have to give it a whirl...
My phone / coverage area does not seem to like the 1.58.26.20 radio however...so I will be changing that right away.

Sorry man connection is not that fast...downloading now
Installed this ROM for a while...
and I must say I am very impressed. Has a lot of nice features and is very very fast. I didn't have any issues with it. Great job my man...very nice indeed
The only thing I would change is have the Network Configuration Wizard pop up on 1st boot. Not that it's a big issue for me but that a lot of users might have problems on first boot
The Best of the Kaiser ROM Collection
'stainlesspc'! Great to see you cooking and thanks for this pure & simple ROM!
I've added you to my top ten cooks!
Even 'alltheway' is impressed
Nice one! Thanks!
My Feedback will follow...
A few more screen shots are way appreciated.
Thnx
WOW am humbled Thanks Guys.
alltheway - I will look in to the camera. I pretty much tried to keeo it simple and not to many frills and fluf to slow things down.
As for the Net Config Wizzard, How does one go about getting it to pop on the first boot ? I used it straight from Alex's packages.
Why I have your attention can you explain why it shows the 1.60.00.00 on boot and how to correct it ?
Again THANKS FOR THE KIND AND SUPPORTIVE REVIEWS
It is a testament to the forum

Not sure.
It was in Alex's packages adn I own a copy so I use it.
You do have to have a code to make it functional though
I guess I could leave it out for the general population next time.

I don't think there is anything wrong with putting trail software into a ROM. In fact I think this actually benifits the companies as a whole. If you like and use the software as much and deem is necessary to have then you purchase it.
I'm not sure how you would make the Network Configuration come up on first boot. I notice that when I did install it did not bring me to the normal installation packages like installing a .tsk home screen and that nature. I did a reboot and then the network configuration came up without any issues.
I am also not sure what it's coming up as 1.60.00.00
What OS build are you using?

I wouldn't understand why it would still show 1.60.00.00
I know that with Build 5.2.19716 The Rom is trully a 1.60.00.00
I don't know why yours would be showing this. I know that Sleuth255 changes his to a custom number like his name and then the number. I would perhaps ask him how this could be accomplished....sorry I couldn't be of more help.

removing stainless startup screen
Hi! I installed your rom but decised I liked Duttys better (no pun intended) but I can't seem to get rid of the enitial silver screen with the rom version info. How do I go about removing this?

New HTC 1.56 Based Rom from FABIII TEAM

NEW ROM BY FABIII TEAM & THEQUARTZGUY BASED OFF HTC ROM v1.56 AND CREATED USING KITCHEN & TOOLS FROM XDA DEVELOPERS
WITH THAT, I WOULD LIKE TO NOTE THAT I SPENT MUCH TIME CREATING, RESEARCHING, AND TESTING THIS AND MANY OTHER ROMS TO GET ONE THAT I FEEL MAY BE TO OTHERS LIKING, BUT I ALSO HAVE TO CREDIT THE EXTREMELY TALENTED FOLKS AT XDA (INCLUDING ALEX, POF, DUTTY, JESCPI2000, AND MANY MANY OTHERS OF WHOM I CANNOT REMEMBER!!!). THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL APPS INCLUDED IN THIS ROM THAT WERE CREATED BY OTHER PEOPLE AND/OR COMPANIES THAT I DID NOT CREATE, BUT ONLY INCLUDED INTO THE ROM FOR OTHERS ENJOYMENT.
*ANY APPS INCLUDED THAT WERE CREATED BY COMPANIES AND ARE NOT FREEWARE APPS SHOULD BE TRIAL VERSIONS ONLY. ALSO, IF ANY APPS THAT ARE INCLUDED THAT WERE CREATED BY ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO WISHES IT NOT BE INCLUDED IN MY ROM, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I WILL CORRECT THAT.
AS FAR AS I KNOW, ALL THE APPS INCLUDED ARE NOT CAUSING AN "INFRINGEMENT" ISSUE.
This is a newly created rom made by FABIII TEAM and THEQUARTZGUY (me) and is a nice rom focused towards folks who want a rom that will have basically all the apps you need or want already installed after flashing/hard reset. It has a little over 90 mb free after hard reset, which is not bad if you consider everything on the rom. This rom was only tested by a small group of people, but results have been good so far. It is basically a loaded up rom full of media/office/utility apps that are useful to most people.
It also has an autoinstall on customizations, so you can choose wether or not to install several apps, so you can set it to your liking to some extent.
This rom is pretty clean altogether, and most of the app shortcuts are placed in folders to clean up the start menu a little. The today screen looks a little cluttered, of course, due to the today plugins included, but they can be easily disabled in today settings, as you already know
ROM DETAILS:
BASED ON HTC ROM v1.56.00.00
ORIGINAL ROM DATE: 08/27/07
RADIO (INCLUDED): 1.27.12.32
PROTOCOL VERSION: 22.45.88.07H
THIS ROMIS RUNNING A 64 MB PAGEPOOL, WHICH IM NOT SURE IF IT HELPS A WHOLE LOT, BUT I DID TRY OUT THE ROM STARTING WITH A 6 MB DEFAULT PAGE POOL, AND STEADILY INCREASING UP TO 64 MB, AND IT "SEEMED" TO ME LIKE IT HELPED A LITTLE UNDER SOME CONDITIONS. AGAIN, THIS MAY NOT BE A BIG HELP EITHER WAY, BUT AGAIN, IT SEEMED TO HELP AND IT DEFINITELY DID NOT APPEAR TO CRAMP ANYTHING, SO I WENT WITH THIS.

THOUGH I HAVE BUILT DOZENS AND DOZENS OF ROMS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW THIS ROM WORKS FOR YOU, AS THIS IS THE FIRST ROM I HAVE ACTUALLY POSTED FOR PUBLIC USE.
I THINK YOU WILL BE PLEASED!!!
Think it would help everyone,
if you listed what apps were included in the ROM.
this ROM looks very unorganized, not many new features or apps (from what I see because you didn't list any) and the whole overall look of it is ugly. Sorry to be such a harsh critic but there are some better ROMs on this site then this, nice try though.
Alos, if you were going for stability over features etc.. I don't know why anybody really focuses on that anymore. Every ROM i've flashed with my Kaiser has been stable because It is a fast device. With my Hermes, Stability was very important esp. with Mobile 6, but i think the kaisers hardware can handle a lot.

quartzguy states he wanted a ROM which others may like - not just what shanetheclassic wants. And yes he as well recognizes the today screen is not the best. Responding To Feedback...
Hey All Thanks Alot For Supporting The Rom, I Know Many People Like Different Things, But I Really Felt That Many People May Enjoy This One Due To Its "application Rich" Content And Still Having Enough Availible Memory To Do What They Need.
As I Said Before, The Today Screen Is Somewhat Cluttered, But That Is Easily Fixed With A Couple Screen Taps To The Settings Page... I Wanted To Include Enough Today Plugins To Hopefully Suit "everyone", Or At Least Give Them More Options.
well, Thanks To Anyone Willing To Try It And Provide Feedback, If Anyone Likes This Rom, i Am Working On A 6.1 Based Rom At This Time, And Dont Know When It Will Be Finished, But I Would Be Glad To Post It If Anyone Out There Is The Slightest Bit Interested!
Thanks In Advance From The Fabiii Team/thequartzguy For Providing Us The Feedback To Better Our Roms!!!

Brick with this ROM
I am a ROM addict and this ROM just brick my fone. Actually had to return it to ATT and buy a new $600 Kaiser. The install was going fine up until 78% and it simply stopped and would not restart and went to Bootloader. I tried the MTYY and other device to try to restart but to no avail. Nevertheless, I concede that it could also have been my computer that malfunctioned but I doubt it.
Respond To "bricked" Phone...
taurusco, I Am Sorry To Hear About Your Troubles, And Hope You Have Straightened Everything Out. However, I Have Now Flashed This Rom Successfully On 6 Different Att Tilts And 2 Htc Kaisers And All Have Completed And Operated Perfectly. Again, Sorry About Your Troubles, But I Honestly Don't Believe This Rom Has Caused Your Ill Issues.
If Anyone Has Any Other Feedback On This Rom, Or Any Other Issues, Please Post, I Would Like To Know!
We're not allowed to cook VC 1.6 in. While there were "bundled" versions for other phones, it can only be purchased from m$ for Kaiser. VC 1.6 is warez and must be removed unless you have cooked in a trial version or one that requires a key. Sorry
Otherwise, looks like a nice effort! Have you considered adding in UC capability? UC can be found here
Cooking Ms Vc 1.6....
Ok Sleuth, I See What You Mean On This App... No Problem, I Am Taking It Out As We Speak And Re-uploading The Rom... Thanks Alot For The Info, Please Let Me Know If There Are Any Other "notable" Issues.
-thx
HATERS.....
All negative feedback on this subject is retarded...someone out of the kindness of the heart takes time out of their busy schedule to make and post a rom...and some moron wants to put it down...all he wants is feedback on glitches/non working apps. Way to go quartzguy and keep up the good work!
I have flashed this rom multiple times and have had no "BRICK" issues...maybe need to reconsider that your computer had something to do with it....moreso, i have flashed every version of every rom quartzguy has cooked(at least 12) and have never bricked or had any major problems whatso ever...feel safe when flashing a FABIII rom...and thank you to all the people that have helpful feedback.

Just had it do it to me, I am currently flashing another rom in a hope to save the phone. I am at 66% currently.
To Those With Rom Flashing Issues....
HEY GUYS, TO YOU THAT ARE HAVING FLASHING PROBLEMS, ARE YOU CHANGING THE NAME OF THE FILE PROPERLY AS TO WHICH WAY YOU ARE FLASHING? IE. FLASHING WITH CUSTOM RUU, FILE SHOULD BE "RUU_signed.NBH" and FLASHING WITH MICRO SD, FILE NAME SHOULD BE "KAISIMG.NBH"
OTHERWISE, NOT SURE WHY YOU WOULD BE HAVING AN ISSUE. I HAVE PERSONALLY FLASHED THIS TO MORE THAN 6 TILTS AND 2 KAISERS, AND I HAVE GOTEN FEEDBACK FROM OTHERS THAT HAVE ALSO FLASHED FINE, NO COMPLICATIONS...
PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR FEEDBACK ON THIS AND/OR ANY OTHER ISSUES OR SUCCESS STORIES, SO THAT I CAN GET AN UNDERSTANDING OF WHY A COUPLE OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD AN ISSUE. THANKS.
ALSO, I HAVE ADDED A LINK TO THIS ROM (THE COMPLETE ROM WITH NBH FILE ONLY AS WELL) WHICH INCLUDES A FOLDER THAT IS ALREADY SETUP FOR MICRO SD FLASHING AND A FOLDER SETUP FOR ACTIVESYNC FLASHING, SO IT IS EASY TO CHOOSE WHAT YOU NEED. ALSO, I HAVE ADDED INSTRUCTIONS AS TEXT FILES IN EACH FOLDER IN THAT LINK TO HELP ANYONE WHO NEEDS A GUIDE WITH FLASHING!
HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

[NEW 2009/12/31] [ROM] [WWE] [Kaiser/Tilt] [WM 6.5.3 23614] ARIADNA v207

[ROM] [WWE] [Kaiser/Tilt] [WM 6.5.3 23614] ARIADNA v207 + LZX [ 101Mb + Chome + Greatbal Shadow Neo Skin] [colours and icons modified]
Proudly I can announce my new Ariadna ROM version for Kaiser and also for Tilt. As I told once, my ROMs are not the best. In fact, they don’t improve anything. Simply, they have the basics that I need for my usual life - there are some other specialized apps that I don't cook here. But even if those ROM’s are not good, even if they lack in lots of things, I cooked them carefully and with love.
It's based on build 23614 - this is the WM6.5.3 LG branch but it seems to work well on our Kaisers. I tested it during more than 10 days and finally today is the best moment to launch it to the World. Tilt version is not tested but the only change is in the keyboard mapping. Maybe I should change anything on the camera apps/settings.
As most of you know, I have no experience in programming or developing - my specialities are in other areas like planning, design, landscape, and environmental law. But lots of people helped me to dive into this kind of drug which is Windows Mobile and all its capabilities and I finally could cook three good ROMs.
What's inside:
No games, no Live, no Transcriber, no Welcome Center, no MS Tag, no OneNote, no Skybox neither SkyMarket.
You'll find some Office appas such as MS Office and Adobe Reader; also, MyNote, iContact and some other minor apps.
There is also the new beta of TotalCommander, compatible to the bottom bar of WM 6.5.x
And it works well with Showcase. and with the 2G patched version of the Mega phone.
25984 free kB on Slot 0
About 122 Mb on Storage, 103 free; abut 101 Mb on RAM, more than 56 free.
See the images to read the list of everything installed and see the screens.
No important issues found. Only, you must configure the hard button mappings in some cases, using the stylus and going to Settings/Personal/Buttons, because in some devices the map is missing and the device freezes when pushing on one button. And if the device is locked, you can't answer using the hard buttons, but I did not try to correct the default registry for this.
I developed it during my nights, and there are about 120 versions of this one till it booted and was shown in the way I wanted. BUT what I finally did was only choosing the correct files, editing some .provxml's and initflashfiles.dat and click on the "Cook It" button on Oskitchen.
There are no Cinderella and Princess versions because, like Jeckyll and Hyde, every girl is simultaneously a Cinderella and a Princess. And thus, this ROM takes the name of my daughter Ariadna. And her image is beside the flags of my 2 beloved countries: Catalonia and Occitania, both under foreign domination now.
Hope you enjoy it. Refer to "About Ariadna ROM" for credits to all known people in this ROM and DONATE to them if you fell it useful. Visit also www.suportalessandra.com
Support and fixes for this ROM will be limited as I have no time and no experience. But I thnk you won't need it: it's easy to use.
There won't be new versions till an important build will appear. Last version was a 23016 cooked last august.
Please read carefully the sickies about "how to flash" and the wiki.

I (only) mean lots of ROMs are cooked without VoIP files, and then it's more difficult to reinstall them. In this one, I did not discard VoIP files.

Well, if you are looking for an innovative, revolutionary ROM for Kaiser, then you're true. Mine is not for you.
WM was made by MS guys (and girls). Builds were searched, found and downloaded, and ported, by other people, not me. Hacks like 101 Mb RAM were developed by other people, not me. Fixes were made by other people, not me. And the kitchen is made by other people, not me. So that yeah it's possible nothing is different in my ROM.
My only responsibility is having spent many hours and days during the last year searching and downloading "how-to's", wiki pages, registry explanations, and lots of CABs with fixes, utilities, tricks. My only responsibility is having mixed them in the way I found, during last year, they work better "for me". Some ones ported from a device or developed by one person; some others developed by another person. Some are older versions which I prefer to the new ones.
Today I added a cheese to my ravioli. But that kind of cheese and that ravioli were made by other people, not me. The only I did is take "that" cheese and not another one, and buy those ravioli and not other ones.
Of course, speaking about me thus is the most sincere way. I'm not a lyer, and I can't tell "this is the best ROM, developed entirely by me" 'cause I only decided which ingredients I put, but credits are, must be, to the persons who searched, ported, developed, hacked, built and shared with us.
About the names history, everyone gives a name to the things, and place an identificative image. I like to know why a ROM is called as it's called. And the circumstances are what they are, so I told thus.
That's a nice and functional ROM which needs improvements, but it works well day to day, that's what I need and what I can share till now. I'm trying to improve it testing other builds and putting/throwing some utilities or modifying the versions (i.e. Mega, Opal or Jade ported phone?) to my taste. I try to modify some PNGs to have a better view (for me). And flashing again and again (and getting stuck in bootloader, also) to improve this ROM.
But nothing if you don't want to test it. You'll find others better than this one, of course. Using less space and having better graphics/sounds. I don't force you to flash this one.

Hi Shane, it's not the first. It's the THIRD !! I began last august with builds 23009 and 23016 but I wanted to solve some things with initflashfiles.dat and some others, so that the version could be considered a good tool.
Later I burnt my computer, and with the new one I had several problems using OsKitchen (I suppose something was corrupted in the hard disk I rescued from the old PC).
Then, you know, I tried lots and lots of times to cook and flash with bad results.
This ROM is also not the first for this build, but I was "refining" it till I considered it's capable to be used by other people without getting angry with me .
Truely, I learned lots of things from your posts, cooking classes, etc.
(you'll read your name in the credits inside the ROM if you try to test it)
Thanks !!!

I only edited initflashfiles.exe and shellres.dll, and changed some colours in some PNG's or some font styles.
For the rest of the features, hard work is from lots of other people, all they working here at xda-dev's for everybody.
Glad if you give feedback. I tested during 10 days before posting it as public, so that I could be sure it works. But trere's always a bad surprise to fix.
Thank you
