nuePower/nueBattery - Touch Diamond2, Pure Themes and Apps

ok im kind of a newb still when it comes to HTC/wm and i've search around and cant find the answer.... anyways i've been tryin to find out how to install these for my HTC TD2
the link to it is - http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/page/nuePowernueBattery.aspx
any help would be appreciated tyvm XD

It seems to me that file inside archive should be renamed to battdrvr.dll and placed into Windows folder replacing original one. But I don’t want to experiment with my device.

that cant be the only thing i have to do right?
It’s pretty weird to make something then have no installation instructions because I have no idea how to install it correctly >.<
It says on the site that there are 2 one for CDMA and one for GSM phones so I downloaded the GSM one since my provider is rogers = GSM/3G which came with a dll but is that all I need for the 1% increment and the FastCharge mode? Do I need to install the nuePowerCPL? And I tried installing the cab but nothing appeared so I downloaded the OEM package and dragged it into program files but that didn’t do anything either so I’m very confused.

anyone?

You have to put .dll in windows directory (and to be sure in app's directory) and install CPL (cab version, OEM is for ROM cooks).

theres also a batt dll in that folder i forgot the name but its not the same as the nuebattery one do i replace that one with the nuebattery dll or just copy it in?

Need to get back to WWE!

I made quite the mistake yesterday. I have an MDA compact that came from T-Mobile Germany and originally had german as the default language. It was easy to change to english by going to regional settings & selecting english.
So I didn't think twice about using a German T-Mobile ROM upgrade - and now I'm stuck with GERMAN!!! Regional settings doesn't change the language any more! what the heck?
Sooooo, I need a WWE .exe ROM that will load - I tried a UK WWE and I was told by the installer that I had the wrong language and install could not continue. Is there a way to go back to WWE? I don't care at this point what version.....
Also, I have downloaded from the FTP server other ROM versions but they are all .nb1 files and, despite my best efforts, I can't understand the proper way to install these. I've looked thru lots of posts and found one set of instructions but they were very hard to understand. HELP!!
funkynugget,
I have been in your shoes, in the exact situation as a matter of fact. I am very familiar with PPC but had never flashed anything in my life( well there was this one time a few years back but uuhhhh.. thats for another story) Anyways just down load the preferred WWE, I am using the latest Jam rom which works great with my German Tmobile. You will also need to download the MaUpgradeUt.exe file as well. Do a google search to find that one by just typing in MaUpgradeUt.exe Now unzip or unrar (whatever) the rom that you choose to use so it breaks down the files seperately. In it you will see the MaUpgradeUt.exe file. Remove that one a replace it with the newly downloaded one. Click on the and enjoy. You may come up with langauge or country error. dont worry if that happens just restart, it will work the second time.
Todd
thank you sooo much for the advice. i will for sure give it a try. i've downloaded another version of the ROM from orange and i'll probably end up just using that BUT i would prefer to use the i-mate ROM, from what i hear it fixes all kinds of little bugs. only problem is it isn't available on the FTP server and i have no other access. do you have it? can you post it to the FTP server here on xda?
once again, thanks for the help!
i've done some research to find a downloadable 'maUpgradeUt.exe' file and i'm starting to wonder if it matters where i get it & what type. you suggest downloading one to replace the one that comes with the WWE ROM but how do i know i found the correct 'maUpdateUt.exe' language/file?
funkynugget,
I tried but it said I do not have permission to upload file. Do you have an FTP I could upload to, it would be my pleasure as I also have received help from this site and would be lost without it.
Todd
'maUpgradeUt.exe'
funkynugget,
I am trying to attach the 'maUpgradeUt.exe' file, Im not sure it will work and I hope its OK to do this, we will see.
Now unzip or unrar (whatever) the rom that you choose to use so it breaks down the files seperately. In it you will see the MaUpgradeUt.exe file. Remove that one a replace it with the newly downloaded one. Click on the and enjoy.....
todd (or anyone else who can help!) when i unzip the files they either come out as an .exe or an nb1 file, not a series of files. how do i get the files separated? and when you say 'click on the and enjoy' click on what?

help my dumb ass install HTC home

OK, i read all the threads, and i am still lost. I downloaded both the HTC home customizer, adn home plug in. I extract them, and then transfer them to my tilt. From there, theres nothign to install, no .exe file, nothing that jumps out and says.. Hey, do this to get me to work.
I am really stumped here, and not sure whats going wrong. I am using vista, winrar, and putting the extractred files on the tilt, but no installer... help please.
don't extract the files on your pc. just put them on your tilt and then open them on there.
they are .cab files and don't need to be extracted

How do I copy a file that is in ROM that is tied to services and resists copying?

The file I'm trying to copy is ezinput.dll. Specifically, the version from my new Sprint Diamond Touch Pro.
I never had any problems copying files from ROM, but this one resists.
I tried using 1) Explorer via Activesync, 2) Resco Explorer (error: Cannot copy, Invalid parameter), 3) Total Commander (Cannot copy), 4) zipping the file (result is a 0 byte file), and stopping all the related services but results are the same.
Thinking that the dll is locked because it is loaded, I renamed all references of this file in the registry, reset, no joy.
Using Memmaid, I see that Services spawns many threads, and some of the et9 related dlls are started by it. Is this why I can't copy the file? If so, how do I keep Services from starting the .dlls?
The big questions are 1) Why can't I copy? and 2) How do I copy a file that resists copying?
Thanks.
question here is why do you want to copy the file, well i would like to know why lol
Have you got a rom update for the diamond rom you could extract the file from that, maybe it is protected ,which is why it cant be copied. Have you tried clicking copy in resco then just paste a copy back into the windows directory it will just rename it copy of ezinput.dll ,then maybe you will be able to copy that copy of the file?
Yes, I can extract the ROM (no update as far as I know) if I needed to, but I'm trying to avoid that.
I want to copy that file because the Touch Pro has slightly variations in its soft keybard that I would like to use.
I asked one of my developers, and he explains that the file is opened as "exclusive". I need to find a way to keep that file from running on startup. It's not running as a service, it's not in the startup, it's a registered .dll that is being called by another process.
Does WM6.x have a .dll cache?
There must be a way to copy this file... Help?
use total commander; works for me

As I indicated in the original post, TC did not work. If you have a Diamond/Touch Pro/WM6.x w/ HTC's soft-keyboard, I would like you to try to use TC to copy windows/ezinput.dll to another location. My guess is that it will NOT work.

How to downgrade with official desktop updater!?

Hey,
I tried to pot my Treo back to WM6 from Vodafone with the original updater, but it keeps telling me that my device is not supported because of language issues (Right now there is WM6.1 working on it in english and I need to flash the German WM6). when I open the installer with WINRAR I can see a couple of *.nbh files (cheeimg.nbh and cheeimg_fw.nbh). Is it eventually possible to just take one of them and flash it? or do they anyway require to have a preinstalled stock ROM to update with them? And why are there so many other files in, when i usually actually just need one nbh file as a rom?
Thanks for helping me understand my phone
bump
i d like to know that aswell. did you fixed the issue by now?
If you want to use the official updater you need to modify the payloads.xml file.
You can find it by opening the official updater, but don't start the upgrade. Opening the updater will extract a bunch of files to your TEMP folder. The payloads.xml file will be in one of the subfolders. The folder is called something random so you'll have to seach for it, but you'll see a bunch of Palm icons in it so you'll know you're there.
You can edit the payloads.xml file with any text editor. Notepad works fine.
If you are changing carriers as part of the update, you will probably need to change the carrier code to the one matching the currently installed ROM. This is AT&T, for example.
Code:
<carrier_codes>CNG,ATT</carrier_codes>
I think Vodofone is VF, but you'll have to do some searching to confirm that.
Then you need to change the revision range to allow the downgrade.
Code:
<revision_range>
<low>1.13</low>
<high>3.00</high>
</revision_range>
Save it when you are done, and then start the updater. It should work. If not, there are plenty of posts here about downgrading ROM's, so search around until you find something that works for you.
And yes, you can extract the ROM's from a desktop updater and flash using the SD card method, assuming of course you have successfully HardSPL'd your phone. You need the CHEEIMG_FW.nbh file, but must rename it to CHEEIMG.nbh before putting it on the SD card.
You don't need to Hard-SPL in order to flash official Palm WM ROMs from a MiniSD.

[Q] Load Programs?

Ok, new to all this. I have a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 CDMA. I flashed to an Energy Rom, looks great. Now... How do I load other software... games and such? I have looked around here, thinking it would be part of the first post, I was wrong. Perhaps this site is too advanced for that? If so, point me to a newbee site and off I shall ride. Thanks in advance for your help. This phone is awesome, and the Energy rom I loaded, looks sweet.

well. there is the microsoft marketplace. or .cab files.
.cab file instructions...
one. download application's .cab file. suggested list of applications can be found here.
two. move the .cab onto your phone's storage card.
three. on your phone, navigate to the .cab file with file explorer, or other like program.
four. open .cab file.
five. choose installation location. device or storage card.
six. select install.
seven. enjoy.
and i havent ever used marketplace before...
i always find the .cab file.
sh4d0w86.
Not to make fun, but it is pretty surprising the you are able to unlock the phone and reflash the OS, but can't install software.
If you search this site, Microsoft Marketplace, or just do a Google for "Windows Mobile freeware", you'll find many thousands of apps. Find the app you want, copy or download the .CAB file to the TP2, and execute it.
For example, Google "Google Mobile Maps", download the Windows Mobile .CAB file, and run it.
Thanks
Well, the instructions to flash a phone are detailed and many. One problem I had was I was dropping the 7zip file onto the phone. Also, I could not unzip the file with the extension of 7z because I did not have the correct unzip manager. Another issue was I was trying to Sync the programs to the phone. Thanks for clearing it up. Is there a logical place to put them on the phone to make them run fast? Thanks in advance.

Installing to main (internal) memory is much faster than installing to the SD (external) memory. Installing large programs to the SD card is the general rule of thumb for obvious reasons. It's up to you where you prefer to install them.
If you mean where should you put the actual *.cab files, then you could always delete them once they've been installed. You don't need them again unless you're going to flash constantly. It's always good to back them up, so storing them on your PC or the SD card would be preferable.
Thanks a bunch!
well, check out this thread..........
cabs just load on the phone and run like any program, just find the file and click it. exe's need to run from windows (regular computer) and install through activesync.

Excellent Thread!!!!!!!! I too made all those mistake and diddn't know how to load .cab files. This is my first foray into modding phones so this thread was quite informative.
