fuze keyboard layout cab? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

does anyone have a for sure working cab. I've searched and tried a few different ones w/ this new ROM i'm using (TAEL)...and all the cabs i've tried seem to fudge something up. for the most part, none of them have the numbers in the right spot Fn+any number gives me symbols instead of the numbers. So far i've tried one called 'HTC Fuze Keyboard fix' and 'TP2FUZE KB', and another called 'Shlomki Fuze Keyboard in TouchPro ROM'

EZinput 2 does not play nice with the Fuze keyboard lay out, his new rom corrects the issue along with many other bugs and from what TAEL says it should be out some time tomorrow.

Fraid i cant be 100% sure - but i think http://blownfuze.org has the cab (mines not a fuze so never bothered downloading the cab to check!)

well...i'm not running ez input...but i'm running finger keyboard 2.1. I never had any problems w/ my tilt using that app. Hopefully thats not it, i'm gonna try this cab one more time from blownfuze.
if i'm installing these cabs, it wouldn't matter if the keyboard was changed under the advanced config utility would it? Because regardless of whether it was on AT&T/Cingular/English/Custom...installing the cab would make the reg edit right?

you dont have to be using EzInput but its installed on the device and thats where the conflict is, The EzInput changes the key mapping for all hardwere keyboard keys.

dah wellz, i just switched back to nrg genesis rom. no biggie. thanx for the help anyways guys

DK's Tilt ROM - 1.61.DKv3.4 (01/10/2008)

Hello All!
I made this rom using the Kaiser Kitchen by jcespi2005 and jugglerlkr because I wanted the new radio with the HTC dialer from a Kaiser. This rom is based on RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE so use 1.27.14.09 Radio.
As an added bonus, the little camera icon on the dialer that started voice calls on the original HTC rom acts like a talk button for those of us too lazy to hit the actually talk button. It does not however function as an end button. I can't fix this because I don't know how it's functioning as the talk button in the first place.
Do not use this ROM on the Kaiser if your going to use the front mounted camera for video calls. I have a Tilt so I removed all the Video Call png's from the rom.

Bluetooth Audio Fix from AT&T's 1.61.502.2
Reg Tweaks:
Disabled Fast Sleep

Enable HSDPA Icon (only icon, HSPDA can be enabled through Settings -> Connections -> HSDPA)

replaced 1.60 SYS folder with identical SYS from 1.61.
rom date changed from 1.60's 11/01/07 to 1.61's 12/26/07.
*honestly I see no difference from 1.60 to 1.61 except for the bluetooth audio fix and a bunch of AT&T bloatware that was removed in my first rom. there is no need to update to my v3.4 if you're using my v3.3 rom. if you really want to update and want the new rom date and D version during boot you can backup your settings from 3.3 and restore to 3.4 without any issues. the only reason I made this rom is because there was a request for it.*

I made a cab to put the HTC Sliding Sounds back in Settings -> Personal. It is made to become Applet11 in the registry since the last applet in my v3.3 and v3.4 rom is Applet10. Don't try to use this with other roms unless you are 100% sure that your Applet11 is not in use. Reboot phone after installing.
congrats
congrats on your rom. i hope its as good as all the other roms that have been popping up as of late.
Well... The "smart mobility" startup screen was different. Scared me at first because I heard the phone vibrate from restarting and looked over to see a black screen with white writing. My first thought was, "Oh crud. What did I do?" LOL.
It's a very nice ROM, and was basically what I've been looking for since I started flashing ROMs. I'd say it sits inbetween the ATT 0.4.4 ROM, and Kyphur's XDA-Live ROM. It gets rid of all the bloatware and nonsense, while not being completely stripped down of some useful options. The HTC Dialpad, and CommManager are much nicer than their AT&T counterparts. It is fairly quick. I will have to see what it's like after I install HTC Home and a few other apps.
Very nice work.

Sorry bout that. I don't like AT&T's Deathstar. It's just too bright and AT&T like so I used the splash from HTC's ROM.

Thanks! I'm not anywhere near the others (dutty, kyphur, custel...), but this rom fits my needs perfectly. Hope it works for you too.
Hello All. Just added a NetCF 3.5 version to the first post. Inspiration from Dutty, OEM from FAMAN.
Hi all,
I am a super newbi and just got a new at&t tilt. I want to get rid of the bloatware and install this ROM. This would be my first ever mod/rom installation. What are the steps (CID/unlock), how to install ROM. I tried to search here but too much information...can't comprehend. Is there a quick start guide somewhere? Please help. I dont want to brick my phone.
Look at the stickied thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679 by pof. Pretty much all you have to do is download the attachment at the bottom of the first post, activesync your Tilt, run the exe and follow the on screen instructions.
Remember if you want to use my ROM to upgrade the radio also. Links to ROM and radio are in the first post of this thread.
Thanks for the ROM. Exactly what I wanted. I like the dialer and comm manager from HTC - leave out all the att fluff and give me back the PTT button. Great job.
The Phone pad
I have a brand new Tilt and have added some cabs and i can say i would be very happy if I can just find the HTC phone dialer. Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks

If you do a search for "touch dialer" or "kaiser dialer" you should be able to find a bunch. I'd rather not recommend any one dialer because I can't guarantee how well they will work on your phone. Hope that helps.
.Net fix in first post
If anyone is using my DK35 rom with .NetCF 3.5, please install the cab on the bottom of my first post to fix .Net issues. There are 6 files that are the incorrect version in the ROM. The cab file will replace these files with working versions.
Anyone using DK35v2 does not need to install this cab. Sorry for all the trouble.
sound?
awesome work, I love the fact that its very lite! but! im not getting any sound. nada. when i slide out the keyboard or play mp3s, i only get a clicking sound from the speaker. is this happening to anyone else? sound works fine when i use a different rom.
Edit: Works now! Thank you, akadonny!
Blar, check your radio version. You need to use 1.27.14.09. I have a link to it in the first post by jscepi2005. No need to flash the ROM again, just do the radio.
Will this rom cause problems if installed on a Kaiser rather than a tilt. I am looking for a 3.5 .NET rom but would prefer not to hose my kaiser in doing it.
Bratag, I only have a Tilt so I'm not able to test. I would guess that if the stock ATT rom works than this should also. I'm also not sure if the front camera on the Kaiser would work.
Hidden Proxy
Did you strip the enable/proxy settings?

navigate throught HTC home???

I am looking for a regisry tweak to navigate throught the HTC home using the scroll wheel. There is a ROM that has it but I am not using that one anymore.
same here... switch ROM?
I agree with you that using the scroll wheel you can navigate the whole HTC home with one hand. Certainly a matter of taste, but much nicer to me.
After swicthinc to Dutty 2, I noticed that on Dutty's ROMs this is not working,. It is working on Schap's and DCS, so I switched back to those. I suggested on Dutty's threads several times that it wa a problem, but was completely ignored....
let's find out how....
let's not give up....
It's called DPad Scroll Navigation. You can enable it using KaiserTweak on any ROM. Search for Kaisertweak, it's easy to find.
It's also enabled on my ROMs by default.
Hope this helps.
Not sure...
Hello Alex,
thanks for the tip, but I have Kaiser Tweak installed (version 10b5) and I find a D-Pad nav option for Pocket ie, nothing else.
I beleive the thread was about using the Track Wheel (not the D-Pad) for navigating HTC home. In DCS and Schap's I can use both at the same time. I am really not sure why any ROM cook would disable one of the options....
Dutty's ROM did disable the Track Wheel of HTC home (at least version 2 and 7, which I tested), and when I asked I was told that the D-Pad works.....

Have you tried it? Make sure to soft-reset after enabling.
Alex,
thanks again but I currently have DCS 1.5 and track wheel IS working with HTC home. I was just echoing the thread author that some ROMs have this problem, including Dutty.
I am interested in this since I like this functionality in case I flash a ROM in the future that has trackwheel disabled over HTC home (I still cannot figure out why anybody would remove the option though...)
I am surprised however that you say that 'Pocket Ie-> D-Pad Scroll Navigation' in Kaiser Tweak would have an effect on Track wheel navigation over HTC home???
This is the only item where I can find mention of D-Pad in the lsit of Kaiser Tweak options.
Juju
still not completed....
I agree, Kaiser Tweak does not do the work.... there must be a registry key to be changed to get this done..... let's hope somebody reveals it...
guys, any ideas on how to get this accomplished?....
I still have not got a solution to the issue.... can anybody help?
FYI, since this isn't about upgrading a ROM this question technically is in the wrong forum. Questions like this would be better suited in the general forum.
Just thought you should know for future reference.
It is related to which version of HTC home you are using. The v2_1_1005722 lets you use the jog dial and the one in most roms including Dutty's is version v2.0.814.722 which does not let you use the jog dial. So I use the light rom and install the HTC version I like and use jog dial.
Hope this helps.

Touch pro keyboard .cab

Anyone have a keyboard cab for the touch pro that you can put on the fuze so you can use the custom roms and have the correct keyboard layout?

Um, what? Why would you want to use an HTC ROM (slowww) when the AT&T ROM is fast? Doesn't make sense, but no, I haven't seen one made yet.
I have a pre-release fuze that I would like to load a custom TP rom on, but I would need a cab file that switches the keyboard to the fuze layout. Something tells me there will be more people looking for it when the fuze is released in the near future. I dont know how easy it would be to extract it from a touch pro rom. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
keyboard cab to use AT&T Fuze ROM on HTC Touch Pro
What about the reverse? does anyone have a keyboard cab to use an HTC Touch branded phone wtih the AT&T Fuze ROM? Or will this work without a keyboard fixup cab?

Trust me, the AT&T ROM is faster than even custom HTC ROMs, but if that's what you wanna do I can't stop you, nor can I help you. I'm sure someone will be able to help eventually, but considering very few people have had the pre-released Fuze, nobody's going to be able to extract it. You may have to wait until release until someone can get the information, or ask someone how you could do it yourself. Good luck.
I have both the fuze and the TP. would be happy to extract it myself if somone could give me a quick lesson. DOnt know if its hidden some where in a cab file or if you have to create your own. If anyone could help I would sure appreciate it.
I ended up creating a fuze keyboard layout for aekmap. It will work until a better alternative surfaces. I thought Id post it if anyone else is interested. Instead of the function key just double press any duall function key to get the alternate value, and the function key is the caps lock key. I hope when the fuze is released a keyboard cab file will surface.
any updates on this? tried doing it myself, but failed... don't know what i'm doing. last major thing with custom rom on my fuze
If you download the file above and the get aekmap (They have a free version) , it works, but the keyboards a little slow, a fuze keyboard cabfile would be a much better option, but until the fuze surfaces on AT&T I doubt there will be to much interest in this.
I am looking for Touch Pro keyboard cab also. I cooked a rom with PPCKitchen and it only has Diamond keyboard and Touch HD keyboard. Diamond keyboard locks up in 123 mode after a few uses and Touch HD keyboard has the annoying UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT line. Does anybody know if that line can be turned off under OPTIONS?
Thanks!
In energy rom there is a program in utilities called keyboard selector and does the job fine. Although i tried to make it easier for you and search for the program and could not find it.
Its called ProFuze and his site is www.rollingtriangle.com but the title says not here. So i'm not sure where u can get it.
Possibly PM NRGZ86 for it

att tf3d sucks

i cant find a manila tf3d cab from a touch diamond pro to put on my fuze i have looked and looked can someone help plezzz
What exactly are you trying to change about TouchFLO?
If you're trying to improve performance, I don't believe there's any advantage to the HTC OEM TF3D vs the AT&T branded one. In fact, installing it again will just take up more memory, which is more likely to decrease performance. Try installing Touch Pro Tweak/Diamond Tweak and using it to tweak TouchFLO for speed.
If you're trying to remove the AT&T tab, there are several Manila (codename for TF3D) customizers which will do this; they also allow you to make other modifications.
If you want a 'better' TF3D, there are TF3D2 "Rhodium Manila" beta cabs sitting around; I don't believe any of them are perfect, but the newer ones seem to be working pretty nicely (i.e. no major usability glitches).
If you really want to improve how the phone works, including how TouchFLO works, you can flash a new ROM. There are dozens of guides floating around on how to do it, and as long as you're careful, the process is reversible so you can still send the phone to AT&T if you have a warranty complaint.
i have the oem for tf3d1 cfc with the original htc theme. you can prolly put it into a cab or grab the files you need or something. im not sure if it will install over. i put it into the kitchen when im building.
i used to have a tilt and i would soft reset it before att would load all their bull i did that on my fuze and tf3d wasn't there thats why i need a tf3d cab i tryed the rhodium cad and every thing didn't work like my email and i want a youtube short cut on the internet tab and the theme sucks i need someone to sit down and show me how to flash a rom i read all the threads about it but im a hands on person so thats where im at on roms
Ok so i can change the theme but its hard finding one that works well i have the HTC black theme but it makes the touchflo run vary vary slow even when i tweak the memory setting but what really want is to get the youtube shortcut on the internet tab can someone help me with that
Look here for several tweaks that will have your phone running like a champ. Mine is like a new phone after going through the thread.

missing stock onscreen keyboard

Happy New Year guys!
My buddy has a tp2 from uscellular and I'm trying to hook him up with morphgear. I can't get the keymappings to work I just get the 229 code. I know how to map the keys by using the virtual keyboard but I'm supposed to switch to the windows mobile standard keyboard and the problem is that isn't an option. I have only the HTC keyboards listed. Anybody able to shed some light on this? Can I add the winmo keyboard through a cab or is there a setting that is hiding it from the list? Thanks in advance!

Is it the stock ROM or a cooked ROM? Some cooked ROMs don't have that stock WM keyboard.
Try going to Start > Settings > Personal > Input. Look for Keyboard in the drop-down. That's supposed to be the WM keyboard.
Sorry if that didn't help (I doubt it helped).
Happy new year!
Thanks for the reply although it did not really help but that's ok. The stock keyboard s not listed in the settings menu either. It should be a stock ROM because it hasn't been changed since it was brought home from the retail store but I wouldn't put it past USCellular to have a custom build. Does anyone have the stock keyboard pulled from the CDMA TP2?
As far as my limited knowledge allows me to understand, if its not already in the rom then it has to be cooked in with a custom rom. I have looked everywhere for a cab and the responses I got from much more experienced people is that you can only cook it in. There is no reg entry to mod or cab to install. Try spb keyboard as an alternative. Its a bit bigger than the stock one (cuz its meant to be finger friendly) but it has all the features that the stock one has. I would post the cab I have for it but Im not sure Im allowed to.
PRBajista 9:
ok, sounds good I will try spb keyboard and hopefully it will let me map the hardware keys in morphgear. Can anybody on USCellular confirm the omission of the wm stock keyboard?
