My screen stopped working suddenly.
It will not respond to anything, no matter how hard I press on it.
What could have gone wrong?
Do I need to flash it back to ATT firmware before I send it back for HTC manufacture warranty?
Thanks for the help !
What rom are you using? Did you try with another ROM? I'm asking because maybe it's not hardware problem.

Hi, I am using RRE Win 6.1 rom, and I have been using it for at least 3 months.
I was just wondering, is it possible that I turn off the touch screen capability accidentally? It was just working fine a few hours ago, and before I tried to make a call, it was just in my pocket.
Well, everything is possible. I would suggest that you flash some other ROM, preferably stock, and if the problem isn"t solved (and this looks like a hardware issue ), revert the phone to stock SPL and bring it to the repair center.

I removed the screen protector and saw a dark spot underneath the screen when the screen is off.
But whenever the screen lights up, it looks normal.
So it seems like the screen got damaged, , but I have never dropped the phone, and it's usually inside my pocket.
I flashed the stock ROM, but when it asks me to tap the screen to set up the device, I can't, coz i can't tap it.
Also, how do I revert it back to stock SPL?
Thanks

Place a file called "welcome.not" (no quotes) in the root of the SD card - this should bypass the windows welcome screen. (simply make a blank txt file and rename it to welcome.not [make sure it isnt welcome.not.txt])

I tried running the SPL, but there is a on screen prompt for the botloader.exe, and ask me to let it run or not.
I can't select yes, because the screen doesn't work.
Is there a way to work around this? I tried the enter button, and the circle button, none works.
Thanks

thanks for the suggestion, but the same goes for mymobiler, when it tries to sync with the phone, it prompts whether the program is allowed to access the phone, so any other things that i can try?
Yes!!
But its a little long winded (and i'm a little drunk - so it could be an interesting journey!!)
this assumes you have a UC capable rom (there are other ways to acheive exactly the same thing - i just dont know enough about them).
1)
Create a UC setup to either
i} install mymobler
and / or
ii} install AEButton plus (and then copy a specific config file over)
2)
Hard reset (having already placed welcome.not on the SD card)
3)
With luck (and for that i mean i think) you will have either pc access to your touch screen (my moblier) or [ii]a keyboard button assigned to left softkey to accept the install (or possibly both if you want!)
(if you like the AEB solution please PM me and i'll make the config file for you)
Once you have that you should be able to install most software & so reset the SPL.
I have no idea if the stock ROM is UC capable - if not:
I dont know if it is possible to restore the SPL to stock and then flash an offical AT&T rom - before you try that route make sure you have read everything, asked the experts if required, and have everything you need - i'm not taking any responsibility for it!!)
(please forgive obvisous errors & typos - while i was out at the pub having a relaxing beer some [email protected] moved all the keys about on my keyboard!)
Wow, same problem happened to me, screens stopped working. You gotta press it with 2 thumbs on the same spot to make it work.

I just had this very problem with My AT&T Fuze. I have had it for 10 months, and fortunately it was still under warranty. Apparently, there are MANY problems with the touch screen on this model. My previous model was the 8125. There was a frame around the screen, and it offered protection that is not available on the Raphael. To answer your question, I never unlocked or flashed this phone, so I was good as far as the return, but I would HIGHLY recommend that you reflash an authorized (ie OEM) rom to your phone before the exchange.
Good luck!
MrRuss
If you cant fix ur screen,
than HTC's warranty should be able to cover you.
Hopefully.
I went to a Att device support center, and luckily, they exchanged the phone for me.
Thanks for all the help and input !

BUT, when I load the default AT&T ROM, the screen that wants me to Tap to set up gets me stuck because my touch screen does not work anymore....
How can I skip this screen completely so I can continue to proceed to get the 3rd party bootloader off my phone?
ATT has already sent out a replacement for me but I NEED to get the default bootloader back on.
I hope this make sense.
Thanks!
don't think you need to go to the today screen to get the bootloader off you put you phone in boot loader mode that's with the power, camera and hard reset bottom press at the same time and flash the original bootloader on it . . . so no need to go to the today screen i think. . . anyone correct me if i'm wrong . . .

An idea I had was to cook a ROM using the original ROM and take out the initial setup wizard so I don't have to tap to set up and then continue with the removal and reinput of the original bootloader, then load the oem rom. Is this feasible, if so, anyone know how to do this? Any help is appreciated.
I have been searching all over for this but it's probaly right in front of my face. I read that you need to get rid of SPL.nbh from official ROMS before flashing back with HardSPL. The problem is, the official T-Mobile Wing ROM that I downloaded is an .exe file. How do I go about removing the SPL.nbh file since it doesn't display folder contents or anything, just runs the RUU?
Sorry for the double post, I realized I was in the wrong forum

Okay,
I thought you wanted to go back to the original T-Mobile rom.
If your trying to HARD-SPL your device to install one of my roms or another cooks roms then thats another story.
Please read my FAQ or one of the stickies.
Ok, I think I got it now. So I don't need to revert to the original ROM to flash it since I have HardSPL? Thanks for the help
wen i did this i think i bricked my fone now its at the tmobile screen and it jus staying there
I tried the file that you uploaded here...And it went thru the whole process of flashing the ROM, but after it updated my wing just stays on the T-Mobiel screen and never boots past that.
It had that open touch software on it and I don't want open touch. I want plan old WM 6.0 on there.
I called T-Mobile and got an offical 6.0 update from them, but when I try that one it gets to 1% then says it has a disconneted and I get a connection error.

So does this work? The two people who did this had problems. I need the phone to be all stock so I can have t-mobile send a free replacement because the screen is going on this wing.
***EDIT:*** Oka so this is the same as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364543&page=2 the first time I tried it it froze at 15% on step 2 so I installed the RAPI CAB like it says. Step two completed, phone rebooted and had white screen then I got error 260 I think. I have the stock t-mobile rom on it and had it on before I did this but it still has the yang from when I did a hard spl. Is there another way to get it to stock or am I doing something wrong? Plug in phone, let it sync, run herald-uspl.exe hit enter and so forth.
***EDIT*** Ok so this time it completed but is now stuck at the T-Mobile screen and I am now unable to even flash because I can't get past it And that damn yang still shows up in bootloader. Well went into bootloader and flashed from there so phone works but the damn yang is still there. And on a side note: Has anyone ever had a problem with their screen going very dark after flashing a rom from here? Phone was fine then I flashed OTP v7.4 TouchFlo 2D Lite.nbh yesterday and at night screen started going dark, would light up when opened in keyboard mode, then switched and then both were very dark and hard to see. I then flashed to OTP v7.3.1 TouchFlo 2D Final.nbh and still dark. Then I flashed to stock rom and have been able to see the screen since.

Did not work. Do I need to install the cab files again? I know I deleted a file out of the stock rom so it would not overwrite or verify or something but I put that file back, should I not have? This has been a few weeks and still can't get the yang off. Screen on my girls phone is almost dead, she can't even slide it any more so I need to fix the spl so I can send back to t-mobile....anyone ?
this is what i do to get back to the tmobile orginal. download the software from tmobile. I downloaded the newest update from tmobile site. REMOVE YOUR SD CARD. Connected my phone via usb. Launched the update. It has never failed me yet. It is just like updating your phone. tmobile has to take it, it is their update. They sent me a new phone noproblem, matter of fact i have to do it again, the back on the phone keeps getting loose on me. so they are sending me another phone again. hope this helps.
Alternatively you can use the combination of uspl and stock rom ruu to return your device to stock tmobile rom...
1. Enter in to uspl like you were falshing one of ttran001 roms... You can get this HERALD-USPL-beta3 from http://rapidshare.com/files/79249048/Flash_Center.rar
2. ONLY use steps 1 and 2 from the black screen (getting the white screen on your device)...
3. For step 3 in the flasher exit out of the black screen (windows cmd screen) by pressing ctrl+C...
4. Fire up the official ruu from tmobile found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358030 or alternatively if you have a tmobile account still active you can get the most up to date rom from http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/
5. Fallow on screen instructions...
6. Back to stock rom...

Being stuck at the Tmobile screen isn't a true brick. Just reflash your ROM. (If you're not HardSPL'd, reflash your RUU.)
Remove Hard SPL from bootloader
Hi,
Anyone out there knows if we can remove hardspl from bootloader of Wing. Problem is my mobile displays splash screen, then switch offs by itself. Its been quite some time that I have hardspled it and have been using it. But recently I am facing this issue, so I am trying to move to original RUU and try if it works.
So for that anyone knows if we can remove hardspl from bootloader, because I am only able to enter bootloader. Moreover I tried several original roms from Flash Center as well as through SD card as well, but still be SPL version is 4.70.yang. Anyone knows any other alternative.
Also, if anyone has faced similar problem then kindly advice how you resolved.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Pankaj
Hello guys ..I know it's my first thread and it's kind of mean to ask for a favor from the first time.
but here's what happened .
I have an official windows Mobile 6.1 downloaded from the official htc website on my kaiser (tilt)
but the HTC screen plug in didn't have weather working on it.
so I decided to download some other HTC home plug-in from one of the website
it's called freewarepocketpc.net
after the download I installed it on the storage card memory
installation required restart.
after the restart the problem started
it cannot open windows,
it gets to the today screen then it gets stuck before openning HTC home screen
after it gets stuck it reboots by itself to go back to the same problem
I tried to take the Micro SD card out before i reboot.
but nothing happened .
it will get stuck and reboot.
I took the sim card out but the same thing happened
I wanna format this kaiser but I cannot establish a connection between the computer and the phone ..
so please tell me what to do.
I took the battery out of the phone in home that it goes to factory setting and take the home plug in out ..I'm hoping
but please I need the phone so bad
I have everything on it.
give me some ideas please..at least to format it.
please
I will appreciate it
thanks
Simple........ read the forum.....
Just perform a "Hard Reset"
Your kaiser will be reset back to factory ( all personal files are gone )

if it wont let you do anything hold down both soft keys and push the stylus and hold them all in/down until the hard reset/clear storage screen comes on, press send to start reset then send to reboot when prompted to

as long as you can put the phone in bootloader mode, your ok
just put it in bootloader mode (keep the camera hard button pressed and insert the stylus for soft reset)
you then see the tri-colored screen known as the bootloader...
then, insert your USB cable and ignore the fact that activesync is not working...
flash the rom you want to flash...and it will work hopefully

Just test all custom rom if u really in mood to use one.
flashing one rom is less than 5mins using SD. Then u will find one which will best suit ur need
p/s : and maybe u could modify ur thread topic since ur prob has been solved
I would use this ROM, they seem very stable and work well on my Tilt. Good luck.

Best advice I can give you is search and read. Read the wiki. This is an obvious suggestion but it will help in more ways than one. You get the answer to your question but you also learn the correct terminology which HELPS YOU TO ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS Since you are new at flashing, i would suggest you keep an open mind, experiment, but research to see if your chosen methodology is good before you turn your device into a brick.
Prerequisites:
1. update your bootloader to something brick proof.
2. make sure you pick a radio which is compatible with the rom you have chosen.
What to look for?
1. Usually the chefs are nice enough to place a date on their threads when they announce a new build. Keep your eyes open for that and also updates within the threads as the builds, bugfixes, and download locations are updated sometimes multiple times a day on hot threads.
2. start with a bloated full build which is full of aps and tweaks and decide what you like/dislike about it. You may find that you rarely use some of the stuff and want to run a bit leaner.
3. Find a completely stripped down lite build and build it up piece by piece with cabs(cabinet file installers). You've now seen both sides of the spectrum while also gaining some flashing experience.
What to do next?
Now that you have decided which utils and apps you need, tweak the settings and dial them in. You'll learn much by playing with settings and watching the behavior of the device change.
And Finally:
Find a build which is as close to what you settled on yourself. Chances are the chefs have put something together which will surpass your expectations and can be modified the way you like it with just a few cabs/tweaks after install.
Good Luck.

Have you read the WIKI?
This is specifically requested that you not start a thread that asks about ROMs. It could get you banned.
Recommend that you start reading before you get yourself into more trouble than you want.
First of all please be gentle! I am a complete novice and this is my first post. I have a Touch Pro on a Vodafone contract. I downloaded the recent ROM software upgrade from the Vodafone web site and began the transfer to my phone having followed all the advice. However, the download got stuck at 12% and no matter how many times I start over again it will not go past that point. Worst still the phone is now locked on a red/green/blue/white screen with the message "Upgrade ROM code error Please try again". the error message on the Vodafone software download is No 302. I have tried Vodafone technical help but as I was due for a new phone anyway they have sent me a Touch Pro 2 but don't seem to want to help me resolving the problem with my "old" phone. It is only 5 months old (replacement insurance phone) and in good condition but useless if it can't be made to work.
Can anyone help with simple instructions on how to download a ROM that will work. If not does anyone want to make me an offer for the phone? Currently locked on Vodafone but I am sure you guys out there have the skill to resolve that one.
Many thanks,
Hollybeau
So, they aren't asking you to send it back, I take it? If that's the case, then the first thing I would try would be to flash with the stock rom, if you can find it (not the upgrade that quit on you). If that doesn't work, then just try to flash hard spl. If hard spl goes through ok, you're golden and can flash any raphael rom you want. If it doesn't, the phone is probably toast. You got a new one, so just use the old one as artwork.
Thanks Farmer Ted,
Unfortunately I do not know the orginal stock ROM. It is not on the Vodafone web site and the HTC site keeps telling me that all the likely candidates are "not suitable" ( I assume this is beacuse it is some sort of Vodafone variant). I am afraid that "flash hardspl" means nothing to me - I told you I was a novice! Can you direct me to what and where please.
What bugs me is that here is a phone worth £200? but for a problem caused by Vodafone's buggy software upgrade.
Hollybeau
Start Here.
Best way to find everything you want to know about flashing ROMs.
Lol.
Hard SPL is a bootloader that allows you to flash any rom you want (not just vodaphone). It also has over-write protection, so if you get into the situation you're currently in, the phone won't be bricked. If you can flash it (make sure you flash the gsm version in the raph rom forum), you are fine and dandy.
If you can't find the stock rom online, you may be able to flash the upgraded rom off of your sd card (I believe this will work with a stock rom and stock spl, but am not 100% sure). Re-name the .nbh image file to RAPHIMG.nbh. Format your sd card (1-2 gb works best) to FAT32, and put the image on the root of the card. Go into bootloader (well, you're already there, you may not need to) by holding volume down and soft resetting. Hold vol. down until the tri-color screen appears. At the prompt, press the power button, and let the flash run its course. Soft reset when it says that the update was a success. Let the phone boot up until it gets to the the alignment screen, the hard reset and boot it up.
If you don't have an .nbh file, and instead have a .exe file from vodaphone/htc, then you should be able to extract the contents with either winrar or 7-zip (google) to get at the .nbh image file. I've done this before, and it works fine.
Many thanks to all who have replied. I have fixed the problem. It turns out that it was the download to my PC that was at fault. I downloaded the Vodafone software to my lap top and ran it from there and it has recovered the phone. I now have a spare, and working, Touch Pro. I may try the HardSPL and other ROMS just to use the phone as a test bed. Alternatively, anyone out there want to make me an offer?

Hello, guys.
Well, I love android and all, but I have had problems. Overheating problems for the most part, followed by freezes. I love my HTC HD2 too much for letting the problems occure or continue experimenting, since I'm new to the flashing-scene and
stuff.
I'm really looking into getting it back to stock. Can anyone please help? Obviously, I will need the HSPL to be original and everyting.
I have made 2 different ext. partitions I think on the SD card.
Can anyone please help? Any detailed help is HIGHLY appreciated.
BTW: My phone is LEO 512 MB, EUROPE VERSION, not T-mobile! Thanks!!
BUMP!!
Anyone? I'm really in need for this. I would like appreciate some help on this one, guys!
hey there,
to flash your hd2 back to stock windows 6.5 you need the original rom from the htc website. go in the UK version of the website, go to the bottom and select region as United Kingdom. Then click the help button. then select the hd2. go into new and downloads. download the rom upgrade for HD2. make sure you download the normal one, i mean NOT the one for o2 or T-Mobile or stuff like that. once you download the file, power down your fone. then turn it on with the volume down buttone and power button firmly pressed. dont let go until you see a red, green, blue and white screen. this is the bootloader. connect your hd2 to your computer via the usb cable. the "serial" word will change to "usb". all you need to do now is run the rom upgrade you downloaded earlier. run the file. folow the on-screen instructions and VOILA. u r back to stock hd2 with windows 6.5 Let me know how it goes and give me a thanks if u found this useful.
Post this in the dedicated HD2 forum, and you are bound to get more help.

Hey there. That setup or instruction was my first try. I thought this would not be any problem, but no, it ****ed up the whole phone and software. It was unable to boot or anything after that.
Gladly I renamed ruu.signed to img.signed or something and put it to root on SDcard, and it worked. First time it ****ed up, all though second try it worked (thank god, lol). Now I sent it back for repair, and I think they changed motherboard. Will get it back within a week. But thanks for your help anyways!
OH! well it always runned just fine for me. Anyways atleast youll get your fone repaired.

Hey again!
Yeah, I think it runs just fine for someone, but sometimes it could get a bit messy.
At least I know I was unlucky when I tried. I sent the phone for repair, and they changed the motherboard!
It runs quite smoothly now. Stabile when it starts heating and everything.
Not sure if I will sell it and buy one X or just give it android and run with it for some months/year
Thanks for trying to help anyways.
Hey,
thanx again for the thought. if u have the bugdet definatly go for the one x. . but a word of advice, dont use custom roms on that fone until u absolutely get tired of the default rom. Just a thought to stay safe.. Hope u get it.
