If you cannot run program to hard reset form "Expert" folder. Turn off your phone, then press both *SOFT KEYS* and *POWER ON* device. After moment release both soft keys. On the black screen asking for confirmation press *GREEN PHONE BUTTON* and wait couple minutes for phone to initialize.
hope it helps
it was problem with the display itself...

Hello.
I don't like to post a request for a first post
but that's I'm gonna do
I owned a HTC Tornado (Sda T-Mobile) since one year and seven months bought on ebay an occasion
It's running on Wm5 (never installed Wm6 or 6.1)
Last time I've reinstalled my os (from an image) and I've forgotten to put in that last os image
the active sync preferences
so I've done what I've done two times, delete the file 'pim.vol' in the phone
by renaming 'pim.vol' by 'pim.vo' or something like that
from memory that was difficult so I've decided to move that file to another directory
after that I've made a mistake with the synchronization of outlook and the device by deleting the wrong profile
anyway it was late in the evening and I left that situation to go and sleep
I left the phone charging during the night
since that operation the phone is blocked after entering the sim pin code,
I left two pics to summarize the situation
the first shows the phone with the sim card inserted

the second one shows it without the sim card
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f74/veigne/IMG_0920.jpg
I left it a few hours but no change on the screen
I've tried the reset operation with the soft keys and the one with camera button and the communication button
it doesn't help
I've read on that forum that the problem can come from a defective battery, I'm gonna try to find a new one
maybe on ebay maybe in my town I'm located in Lyon France
I saw a similar post to mine
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399910
I saw in a post that there is a battery on the rom that keeps the date and clock time,
I'm gonna try to take if off and replace it
Thanks in advance for your opinions
Bye
You just need to flash the phone with some working ROM. If the phone is not CID unlocked, you will need to look for the original rom for that phone.
The pictures show no extra-ordinary problem. What you mean is it stuck in the booting.. this may happen because of some corrupt in system files.. you can solve it by just hardresetting. if hardreset is not working try reflashing the rom. But becareful not flash with wrong rom and be sure to super cid if the rom not a original one.
Solved
In fact I made the mistake to push the power button to long (more than 1 second)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=363680&highlight=reset
to hard reset your phone
Turn off phone, press both softkeys and then press the powerbutton for exactly one second!
Thanks Guys
and thanks for the forum
Let the pictures talk

your landscape is probably off because landscape is not supported.
The portrait is strange though.... have you soft reset your phone since install? (or since the problem occured)

GENE aka p3400 wm 6.1
1. check the resolution of the images and see if they're large enough for preview
2. remove the pictures from your phone, reset, and put them back. then reset again.
3. If these don't work.. i'll get back to you on this

I was gonna say if you weren't running an htc phone you may run into problems.....
but thats htc. the only other thing i can recomend is a reinstall. (or if you want you could remove the picture tab with m2dc.)
You may also want to check what version you are running. Manilla 2d is still in development and so it isn't perfect yet you can contact the main developer here though. He may be able to offer more help or even be able to inlcled a bug fix in the next version.

Hi, I've had my RX3715 for about a year and a half now, one day, it just froze. So I restarted it, the restart loads and when it's fully loaded the screen is just frozen. I tried a hard reset and the same thing happens. I even tried taking the battery out and resetting and still, the screen remains frozen once the loading bar is full. I've also tried a siftware update from hp but the problem still persists ...

When did you noticed it? What had you done to it prior (program installation/removal, flashing a new rom, etc)
It could be that you damaged the screen somehow, so you may want to consider sending it to HP as well.
My problem occured one night when I was surfing the internet via wi-fi and opera browser ... At a certain moment my pda stoped responding and showed the busy icon ... I tried soft reset but nothing happened .. so i took the battery out ... And from that night it stopped working ... I think my problem is not a hardware one, because I took a good care of my pda
Or can anyone give me some programs to dump the rom from a working ipaq to a computer and flash it to my broken ipaq ... Because i have a feeling that the rom from hp website is just an update, not the entire rom

Unlike with computers, if you see a "Rom Update", you will have a brand new OS in that package. In a PDA, you don't have much space to be installing fixes or service packs (a la Windows) so they rather fix the bugs and release a new version of the OS in the form of an "update".
So, is there any free solution for fixing my broken ipaq ?
Can anyone help me with a rom dump for this pda ?
Same problem.
Hey, i just got my friends ipaq to try fix and the exact same things happened to him, sadly i haven't found a way to fix it, have you? Do you have any link or something to help flash this thing? Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.
I bought another ipaq with a broken lcd screen, and changed the motherboard ... Now works like a charm
Suddenly (well, I had just installed WifiKeyboard when this happened to me, but I don't think it's relevant) my touchscreen develop a dead zone. Just above hardware buttons. If i touch this zone, my phones thinks I'm pressing with one thinger above this zone and with another thinger below it. Just like the picture shows.

(Note that it's a complete symmetrical dead zone. It's a perfect rectangle)
It's strange. I was on Codename 4.1 JellyBean. I didn't change anything, (I descarted that this might be a Rom problem, I put back the stock rom and the problem persists). I don't rember any serious smash in the last few days. I had already changed the touchscreen once, because I broke it and the jerk that replaced the screen glued it terribly bad so the screen is a little bit loose (i think that maybe something entered through this space and ****ed the screen, but i don't know)
Also read someguys talking about chep chargers that might broke the touchscreen or something like this ( I recently used a blackberry's charger for a day) and that It might be something with the drivers of the touchscreen.
I had no idea.
Any clue?

Sorry!
Did you restart your phone?
If that doesn't help, do a factory reset.

Then it's broken.
It's not the software, then it must be the hardware.
Last suggestion: Turn off the phone, take out the battery and touch the pins where the battery goes. Put the battery back in, turn on your phone and see if it works. I've heard of static electricity giving all sorts of problems. Grounding the phone (touching the wiring) might do the trick.

I'm sorry you paid 80 dollars for your touchscreen? What a ripoff... I got mine off ebay for around 40...38 to be more precise. 80 is way too much for an SL.
Hey guys, I was wondering what my options are at this point. One of the lights has stopped working...the button still works though. Will Costco/ATT replace the phone? I'm almost positive they will but does anyone know how long they take? I cant be without a phone for more than a day.

Yes they will replace it. This was seen on some of the first ones that came out. Just ask if they will just trade you a new one on the spot and make sure they let you turn it on to check for any other hardware defects.
Edit: this is assuming your hardware warranty is intact

Yes it is. Thanks! But I doubt they will give me a NEW one. Its been over 3 months.
Same thing happened to my AT&T HOX, It was working normaly then suddenly the recent apps light stopped, the button works perfectly tho...
I did factory reset, cache and davlink cache erase, changed rom and tried almost everything, the light started working again but dimmer, not as bright as home or back...
Today the home key backlight stopped working too (its like a virus spreading) and i got them to work after every reebot and when I answer a call but again, both backlights are dimmer than the original...
What did they say? could you replace the phone? Im still thinking its a software issue rather than hardware... maybe Im wrong!
Please if you find someway to fix it let me know! I will do so too!
Good luck!

No it was a hardware issue. Well at least that's what Costco said. I also factory resetted RUU'd and all that . They are amazing! After 90 days they still gave me a new one no questions asked!
EDIT: If your out of warranty (It hasn't been a year since the phone came out so that's not even possible but oh well) you can take the back off the phone and press the LED panel under the buttons down firmly and they start working again! I tried this on my new one (I know..i'm stupid )
