SD card slot went out.... - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Well heres the story ill keep it short and simple....
I flashed from one rom back to energy rom and put the sd card back in and it didnt read it. Tried reflashing the rom, reflashing back to the other rom, tried flashing to stock rom, hard reseted, soft reseted, reformatted the card, tried a different card and a different brand of card and still nothing. pretty much if it was written in the book i did it. So I came to the assumption that the slot went out on me. Luckily the phone is still under warranty so i get a replacement tomorrow.
My question is, do i just flash the stock rom and reflash hardspl and its good to go to return to them?
*on another note its a good thing this happened as the touch pad is finally starting to peel up in the corner like everyone elses has *

Hola Neighbor!
Flash back to stock ROM then flash Soft SPL, or Stock SPL.
You are already Hard SPL'd and you have to undo that or they will see it in bootloader mode.

Ok so i should be flashing the StockSPL_ForWarrantyOnly_SPL190_1 for the spl correct?

Yes, but only AFTER you flash back yoto your stock ROM.
When you go to bootloader mode, you will see SPL: 1.90 instead of SPL: 1.90Olinex, thats how you know your back to Soft SPL.

Over Flashed

I have been flashing several ROMs trying to find the right one for me, including trying to cook my own ROM which caused me to flash several times due to testing my progress. At this point I flashed NATF v.1.2 ROM which seemed to work pretty good but all of a sudden my Fuze froze and I did a soft reset and now my phone will not go past the boot screen. I can reach SPL (Tri-Color Screen). I do have Hard-SPL installed since it reads SPL-1.90.OliNex
I have tried to flash the stock AT&T ROM and I get the same problem, it won't move past the boot screen. Does this mean a bad Nand and needs to be exchanged or is there something I can do to save my Fuze?

If yours is from ATT, you want 1.01.25.16 - download using one of the links under the RUU column.
flash it to the device.

I have been using the official radio that came which was 1.02.25.32. I just noticed that if I reset the device a couple times it boots up fine. But if you reset again it get's stuck at boot.

Not-so N00B dumb question

I've been flashing new ROMS on an 8525 for a couple of years now, but I'm new to the 8925.
I've been reading a lot, I think I understand the relation between SPL and the ROMs now, but I'm still puzzled.
I keep getting a lot of cruft left behind from prior ROMs and don't know how to get rid of it. for example about three ROMs ago, I flashed the "Mobile Vista" from ansar. Now I still get his Today theme, and there are still a lot of apps installed that read "ansar..."
I've tried removing the battery before flashing, making sure the SPL version is OK with the ROM doing hard resets - nothing seems to let this device start from a "clean slate".
I'm trying to find a ROM I can be happy with, which is why I'm trying so many, but I can't fairly evaluate aon one ROM if I don't know what I've really got installed.
TIA
Walt
I've never heard of anything like that happening Are you sure it is the today theme, or just the boot splash? That would be most likely.
As far as the programs, maybe most of them are from ansar? Which ROM are you using right now?
I just flashed the PDA Corner latest version (15) and it seems to be behaving now. Prior ROMS I tried this morning included Athine, Garmin and Phoenix.
Prior to flashing PDA Corner, I did an "Erase memory" (hard reset from software) and removed the battery for about 10 minutes. Maybe that's what did it. I agree, I've never seen anything like this before, I always thought that flashing the ROM reased everything, but then I started reading about SPL on the Kaiser somehow being more than just a bootloader so I got concerned.
And yes, it was the Today screen including clock, wallpaper, etc. The splash screen on bootup actually did change to the one corresponding to the new ROM.
Thanks.
Walt
When flashing a new ROM, when you get to the "Tap screen to begin" do you perform a Hard Reset?
If not, I suggest you start doing now.
Also, merschle (ex-moderator and Artemis cook) recommended flashing a ROM twice with a Hard Reset in between. I don't do this, but it just might help

Flash a stock HTC rom and then try a modified rom again. It always helped me when i got strange flash problems.

I hard reset three times then I flash an OEM ROM, then I hard reset three more times to be sure. I know it's anal, but it works for me.
I don't know how you're flashing try the SD Card method.
It's safer and more reliable.
The SPL & Rom have closer relationship than on your older device.
A sign of have the wrong SPL or needing to change to another SPL is freezing. If you notice your device is freezing or non-responsive, flash the recommended SPL by the chef.
Don't worry any, I was the same when I upgraded from the Wizard...gotta learn all over again.

Stuck in cyclic restart after Radio ROM upgrade!?!

Phone stuck in cyclic restart after Radio ROM upgrade!
Hi all, I just loaded a new radio ROM (1.12.25.19) onto my phone (I am security unlocked and sim unlocked and hard SPL'd, thanks to Olinex!) and everything looked to work fine, the status bar got to 100% and the phone rebooted as usual after a new ROM load (I have done several radio ROM upgrades without any bother)
However - it is completely stuck in a cyclic reboot. I get the HTC startup screen and then it just reboots again and again. I tried a hard reset and got the confirmation message that it was restored OK, press volume up to boot. However it does the same reboot again and again
Any ideas? Or do i now have a very expensive door wedge
Have you tried flashing again from SD? Maybe that will help.
Doug M.
Yup - I tried to flash from SD but all I get is a message saying "no image found" and then I stay in bootloader, it looks like it's not reading from the SD card properly. I reckon if I can get it to boot from the SD all will be well (I hope
Any ideas??
Are you using a cdma phone? Do you have a raphael?
Hi Farmer Ted - it's a GSM Raphael and not a CDMA phone, thats why i'm surprised the ROM flash failed!
Weird; all I can recommend is trying to flash a stock, shipped rom. Hope you get that sucker working again! What rom are you using? Does it have a newer rilphone in it? I'm just grasping at straws, but maybe if you you a 1.14 rilphone, it doesn't play nice with a 1.12 radio.

Now you mention it I do have the 1.14 rilphone installed!! How do I get the damn thing to work again? a few people have mention trying to reflash the entire phone via SD, thanks! I think you may have found the problem - now all i need is the solution!
Can you get into bootloader? If so, just try flashing one of the stock roms (that has a radio with it) over the usb connection. If you can't do that, then do an sd card flash. 1 GB cards seem to work the best (that's what I use).

Farmer Ted - cracked it! For some reason the SD instal would not work (i tried all my cards incl a 1GB as suggested) and then tried the USB method - and it worked!! Have now got my phone back !!
I owe you a large cyber-beer !!
Awesome! Glad I didn't screw your phone up any worse, lol.

SD Flash stuck at white "Loading..." screen

So, got my self in a bit of trouble today, here's the situation:
- Recently flashed TPC v11 Mega Edition, and had been using it for about a week. Ran across some problems with apps freezing, so I decided I should try to start fresh and reflash a stock ROM.
- Reflashed AT&T Tilt stock ROM (3.57.502.2) via my SD card (my USB is not working, and hasn't in a while).
- Flash seemed like it was going great, but when the phone rebooted the TPC ROM was still there, yet it showed an older radio had been flashed (1.27.14.09)
- Knowing that this wasn't a good situation, I thought I'd try to reflash again via the USB. Began the process, except this time the flash process was now stuck at white "Loading..." screen.
- Thinking it was possibly a issue with my SD Card, I tried reformatting the card with FAT32 and recopying the KAISDIAG.nbh and ROM. Didn't work
- Tried copying a different ROM (TCP V11, a new RADIO, HardSPL 334... didn't work)
Unfortunately, since my USB doesn't work, I don't have an alternative way to flash the device. Surprisingling the TPC v11 ROM and the old RADIO seem to function somewhat, so the device is usable, although it seems as if I'm now stuck with this ROM for good. Also, audio seems not to function now... an unfortunately side effect. I can only assume this is related to the old Radio.
Any ideas as to why my flashing issue might be? ...thanks in advance.
Please consult STICKYs.
Several ways to get around this:
Put the phone into bootloader flash via SD or even computer as dosn't need to sync when in bootloader.
The issue you have with sound is that the stock ROM has a radio so therefore you now have an old radio.
To Flash via SD the ROM file name is KAISIMG.nbh.
Hope this helps any more problems please use a thread already available [Resources] Flashing Your First Kaiser Rom (For Noobs)

Flashed a couple, cant get rid of stupid splashes

Newbie flashing here. Followed everything and flashed my first rom yesterday.
Flashed: RUU_Kaiser_HyperDragon_IV_Mega_6.5_WWE_20091006_11-54PM
After trying that one, I then i flashed to another rom.
Flashed: KAISER_WM6.5__3_34_721_V31__B23041_09032009 (not sure which thread i got it from)
But when the phone started up it showed the stupid splash screen from the hyperdragon rom but booted into the new rom (slight problem)
Then i wanted to try another rom this morning and read to flash back to htc rom first. So i just did and i am stil looking at the last rom i flashed. I have hard reset a couple times here and there, and after installing the htc official rom (WTF problem)
Im gonna try loading this next rom now, but i have a feeling i wont see it when it boots, ugh
Not all roms come with splash screens. When you flash a rom that does not come with it's own splash, the splash from the previous rom is retained.
Hard reset, flash the stock ( oem ) rom, the when it says tap here to set up , hard reset again. If you fallowed the right flashing steps ( which you have previously, obviously ) the stock rom should boot up.
Ah, indeed. Thank you for the response. Flashed back to stock rom and all is well. Not so sure i like this flashing stuff.

Once you hardspl your phone, it is kind of hard to brick it. A stock flash usually solves everything. Flashing is addictive, it brings out the " gotta have the latest and greatest " in you.
But even after flashing over a hundred times, I still hold my breath everytime I flash. I already bricked one phone way back in the early days of Kaiser flashing when the phones first came out.
