Flashed a couple, cant get rid of stupid splashes - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Newbie flashing here. Followed everything and flashed my first rom yesterday.
Flashed: RUU_Kaiser_HyperDragon_IV_Mega_6.5_WWE_20091006_11-54PM
After trying that one, I then i flashed to another rom.
Flashed: KAISER_WM6.5__3_34_721_V31__B23041_09032009 (not sure which thread i got it from)
But when the phone started up it showed the stupid splash screen from the hyperdragon rom but booted into the new rom (slight problem)
Then i wanted to try another rom this morning and read to flash back to htc rom first. So i just did and i am stil looking at the last rom i flashed. I have hard reset a couple times here and there, and after installing the htc official rom (WTF problem)
Im gonna try loading this next rom now, but i have a feeling i wont see it when it boots, ugh

Not all roms come with splash screens. When you flash a rom that does not come with it's own splash, the splash from the previous rom is retained.
Hard reset, flash the stock ( oem ) rom, the when it says tap here to set up , hard reset again. If you fallowed the right flashing steps ( which you have previously, obviously ) the stock rom should boot up.

Ah, indeed. Thank you for the response. Flashed back to stock rom and all is well. Not so sure i like this flashing stuff.

Once you hardspl your phone, it is kind of hard to brick it. A stock flash usually solves everything. Flashing is addictive, it brings out the " gotta have the latest and greatest " in you.
But even after flashing over a hundred times, I still hold my breath everytime I flash. I already bricked one phone way back in the early days of Kaiser flashing when the phones first came out.

Over Flashed

I have been flashing several ROMs trying to find the right one for me, including trying to cook my own ROM which caused me to flash several times due to testing my progress. At this point I flashed NATF v.1.2 ROM which seemed to work pretty good but all of a sudden my Fuze froze and I did a soft reset and now my phone will not go past the boot screen. I can reach SPL (Tri-Color Screen). I do have Hard-SPL installed since it reads SPL-1.90.OliNex
I have tried to flash the stock AT&T ROM and I get the same problem, it won't move past the boot screen. Does this mean a bad Nand and needs to be exchanged or is there something I can do to save my Fuze?

If yours is from ATT, you want 1.01.25.16 - download using one of the links under the RUU column.
flash it to the device.

I have been using the official radio that came which was 1.02.25.32. I just noticed that if I reset the device a couple times it boots up fine. But if you reset again it get's stuck at boot.

Not-so N00B dumb question

I've been flashing new ROMS on an 8525 for a couple of years now, but I'm new to the 8925.
I've been reading a lot, I think I understand the relation between SPL and the ROMs now, but I'm still puzzled.
I keep getting a lot of cruft left behind from prior ROMs and don't know how to get rid of it. for example about three ROMs ago, I flashed the "Mobile Vista" from ansar. Now I still get his Today theme, and there are still a lot of apps installed that read "ansar..."
I've tried removing the battery before flashing, making sure the SPL version is OK with the ROM doing hard resets - nothing seems to let this device start from a "clean slate".
I'm trying to find a ROM I can be happy with, which is why I'm trying so many, but I can't fairly evaluate aon one ROM if I don't know what I've really got installed.
TIA
Walt
I've never heard of anything like that happening Are you sure it is the today theme, or just the boot splash? That would be most likely.
As far as the programs, maybe most of them are from ansar? Which ROM are you using right now?
I just flashed the PDA Corner latest version (15) and it seems to be behaving now. Prior ROMS I tried this morning included Athine, Garmin and Phoenix.
Prior to flashing PDA Corner, I did an "Erase memory" (hard reset from software) and removed the battery for about 10 minutes. Maybe that's what did it. I agree, I've never seen anything like this before, I always thought that flashing the ROM reased everything, but then I started reading about SPL on the Kaiser somehow being more than just a bootloader so I got concerned.
And yes, it was the Today screen including clock, wallpaper, etc. The splash screen on bootup actually did change to the one corresponding to the new ROM.
Thanks.
Walt
When flashing a new ROM, when you get to the "Tap screen to begin" do you perform a Hard Reset?
If not, I suggest you start doing now.
Also, merschle (ex-moderator and Artemis cook) recommended flashing a ROM twice with a Hard Reset in between. I don't do this, but it just might help

Flash a stock HTC rom and then try a modified rom again. It always helped me when i got strange flash problems.

I hard reset three times then I flash an OEM ROM, then I hard reset three more times to be sure. I know it's anal, but it works for me.
I don't know how you're flashing try the SD Card method.
It's safer and more reliable.
The SPL & Rom have closer relationship than on your older device.
A sign of have the wrong SPL or needing to change to another SPL is freezing. If you notice your device is freezing or non-responsive, flash the recommended SPL by the chef.
Don't worry any, I was the same when I upgraded from the Wizard...gotta learn all over again.

Odd irritation

Well, Please point me in the direction if this has been asked before but search hates me right now.
But the problem is I've recently flash Timolol's Stock Like Rom, and it's a nice rom but I am missing sense so I realise that Cap's ROM had been updated I flashed and it was successful but put me into a reset loop and so I reflash it again and it froze on the boot screen.
So I had the idea of flasing back to the original ROM (Stock like) and it's working okay, Why can't I flash to Cap's Rom again?
I had it on there before I went to try Tim's Rom...
EDIT: Forgot to mention that after both ROM flashes of Cap's I did do a hard reset
Thanks
I managed to fix it, (not quite sure what was wrong with it though)
I did a hard reset before I flashed and again afterwards

MIUI 2.3.5 1.9.23 - No soft keys after succesfull flash

Appologies for not replying to the original MIUI thread. I am not a new user and i am very experienced in flashing roms etc, especially on samsung devices. I have been around for a while now but this is my first post so i cannot post in the dev section yet.
Last night i flashed MIUI to my infuse. I followed the instructions in the op here exactly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278053
I had no problems flashing and everything was successfull, however there were 2 major issues. First being the soft keys. The four buttons menu, home, back, and search buttons did not function at all. They werent even backlit. The volume rocker and power buttons functioned fine. I reflashed from blue cwm twice and still nothing.
This is where i ran into my second issue. There were no posts about anyone having the soft key issue however i did notice alot of people losing their recover and being stuck on the samsung boot screen. This eventually happened to me.
I went to samfirmware and downloaded 2.1 and odin'd it, then odin'd the community kernel to get ext4 and red cwm then restored my nandroid so i am back to normal. I wanted to post about my soft key issue but as i said i had to post in q&a due to my lack of posts.
Any suggestions? if not, i at least wanted to inform the dev of the issue.
Thanks
have you tired CM7, just asking cuz they have almost the same bugs....so i would curious to see if your softkey issue transfers to that rom as well. and if not........
i would try loading up CM7, wiping from the orange CWM and flashing MiUi from there. it Should have worked the way you did itk if you were coming from stock. but who knows maybe seeing if it happens on Cm7 will lead to your answer.
just an idea though
no i havent been able to try cm7 yet as i dont have a build environment set up anymore and havent seen a release yet, would love to give it a shot if someone wants to send me a zip.
i really hope it doesnt have the same issue or ill have to donate this thing to my fiance and get a gs2 or something lol.
Check your mail, you seem to know what your doing so test it out see what happens.
Happy Flashing
Happy flashing indeed, thanks for this im going to give it a go right now, bbl with results.
Hell the only reason i was flashing miui to begin with is b/c i am currently unable to build cm7 so hope this works..
Thanks a ton!!
Ok so heres how it went down.
After my fail last night with the softkeys i did a little research and flashed serendipity s7. So with the cm7 zip you sent me i started out flashing over this since they are both ext4 i didnt think there would be a prob.
Followed your instructions, wipe, flash, pull battery, wipe, flash. After the first flash i was in orange cwm. I didnt give it a chance to boot until after the second flash obviously, but it would boot directly into orange cwm everytime.
From there i decided to odin to stock and flash the community kernel again.
Now that i was back in red cwm and formatted to ext4 i repeated your original instructions and everything flashed just fine.
As far as the soft keys, i have no issues at all. Everything is working just fine.
I was flashing from 2.1 uke3 last night, and thats also what i flashed with tonight and was successfull with.
Anyways thanks for the help glad to say im not having the issue with cm7. much appreciated
--forgot to add i am going to try to reflash miui coming from cm7 and see how that goes if i still get the same issue
--Okay, booted to orange cwm, wiped and flashed the same miui zip as before. Only one wipe and one flash no battery pull or anything. Everything flashed perfectly and my soft keys are functional. Not quite sure what the deal was before but miui is booting just fine. I'm afraid to boot recovery to many times as everyone seems to lose it after a few uses. We'll see how it goes for now, never been an miui fan to iphoneish for my taste but until i can build a recent cm7 rom i need something, was getting bored with rooted stock.
Thanks again for your help!

[q] bricked? Arhd bootloop

Hey guys, I been away from the sensation for a few months now and I think I bricked it on my first flash back! I was flashing ARHD & I followed the noob guide, I downloaded firmware & updated, deleted the firmware file, performed super wipe, flashed the rom, and I checked my md5 sums. Now I'm bootlooping the white HTC splash screen, and sometimes I see the beats audio symbol but right back to the slash screen! Ahhh.... I use this line for work. I used the 3.30 firmware as it said to & I'm on boot 1.27? I know one of you guys can help, so please ANYONE,I've got a get this fixed tonight.....
well if its booting then fortunately you're not bricked lol
have you tried re flashing the new firmware?
I flashed the 3.30 that the installation guide I was following told me to. I have ext 2.2, so is that an issue or is it the correct recovery.
Anyone who can walk me through this I'd really appreciate it guys. Just like most, I rely on my phone for work. I'm a little worried here, I've flashed quite a few times and I've never had an issue like this that I couldn't restore out of.....
Try this??
what I did was everything you did.. except I used this firmware update...
Firmware from 3.30.401.1 & 3.30.401.101 RUU
--- MD5 checksum: 824295C6ACDC8D55BED9E0B913192DBE *PG58IMG.zip ---
--- Only for 3.30.401.1 & 3.30.401.101 based ROMs
Then I installed the ICS Energy rom, and everything works great.. I've also flashed a few other roms without issues.. I haven't tried the arhd yet.. I'm currently running the virtuous AOSP rom.. and still, everything works great.. I hope this helps
Just a side note.. have you tried formatting the sdcard then trying that setup? I did have issues with my sdcard in the beginning, but after formatting, I've had no issues..Also make sure the ROM you're using is made for the correct firmware, otherwise you'll have bootloops! hope this helped!
That's the same firmware I used, and I've ran the firmware upgrade twice now. Now right after I updated the firmware the first time I did it, I rebooted on accident & it wouldn't boot even before I flashed arhd.... is this normal?
It wouldn't boot into hboot? What I did was put all the needed files on my sdcard, flashed the firmware, removed the sdcard(while the phone is powered on).. booted into the rom, then put the scdard back in and removed the firmware update..then rebooted the phone, then wiped and loaded an ICS rom..that was really about all I did.. and so far all works well.. I'm really at a loss as to what the problem on your end is.. it sounds like you've done everything you're suppose to do..
You could try to run the relevant ruu (assume you have s-off?) and start again?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
Update::II flashed Virtuous and had no issues and everything is running perfect. Looks just like my transformer prime now. I doing know why at this point that my system would not play nice with ARHD, I followed the guide to the letter and I flashed the firmware 3.30 several timed just as directed. None the less, I am satisfied with this from, and my device is much smoother and more productive than the ****ty GS2 by T-Mobile that I had been using the last few months! I just can't retire my Sensation. Thank you to all who chimed in, you're a great community!
Bricked
That happened to me too when I tried to install ICS without updating the firmware
first.
I just re-booted to recovery and did a restore. I'm assuming you backed up your
ROM right?
Then at least your phone will go back to normal and you can start over...and use it for work haha
I'm good now on virtuous, but I just couldn't get ARHD to work for me. Yes I had upgraded to the proper firmware first, and I always compare md5 sums. I'm by no means an expert, but I always research, read and ask all the nessecary questions before I flash anything I'm not familiar with. I think there may just be rare occasions when some of the devices just won't play nice with certain software. Virtuous took on the first flash & I'm actually very pleased with it, so all's well that ends well. ICS is just so much more intuitive & functional for me
