Instructions for TNT Touchflo 19199 - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

I just flashed TNT 5.0. It didn't have touch flo, so I flashed build 19199 which I understand to be a TNT Touchflo version. The problem is that I don't seem to have touchflo working. It just seems like a regular OS. There seem to be no instructions or manuals for using the TNT build 19199. So it seems that I am in the dark here. There is one program called TOUCHFLO which allows you to set a sound when you use touchflo. I do not see any other references to touchflo, excepting the ADVANCED SETTINGS. I see no why to change Celcious to Farenheit on the Weather download to the phone. And there is no instructions on how to set touchflo to work. I flashed to a WIZARD G4. I love the programs included with the Professional+HOME+touchflo, but I just don't see how to set up the phone for the touchflo feature. I would be good if better definition could be given to the ROMS cooked, a list of most recent builds, and a instruction manual to describe the settings and features of the phone. For instance, just what is OXIOS? Or what is BITCRAWLER? Sure these must be important to the use of the phone, but we less than endowed GEEKS, need a little help, don't we. So have some mercy on us and include a PDF or DOC with the ROM BUILDS. THANKS, JACK

TouchFLO Questions

Good afternoon gang,
I have a few questions about TouchFLO.
I have a HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125). I have only flashed it once for the latest Cingular update. It is an unlocked device. I use it on the Rogers GSM network here in Canada.
Anyhow. I am curious about trying out the TouchFLO but I am not too sure if I want to flash my device just yet.
Is it possible to install any of the TouchFLO capabilities into the ARM Device Emulator?
I develop Windows Mobile applications as a day job but I've never had to deal with ROMs as we setup our apps to run on default factory devices.
We use Device Emulator heavily in our development however I have not seen a way to emulate flashing one.
The emulator boots .bin files.
Also addition questions.
Does the HTC Wizard require WM6 to run TouchFLO? I am pretty happy with my device right now and I see lots of forum posts about many SMS and call/radio issues with WM6 ROMS etc so all of these issues doesn't make it look like its a simple flash & works great kind of situation.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated
Thanks and take care.
Hey. I use and unlocked cingular 8125 with rogers. My phone is a G4 CID locked device. I have the latest rom by ovtaivoi which is a WM6 professional with touchflo software in it. i use the faria 2.69 radio rom and i have had no problems with sms or calls so far. i really love the touchflo software and its pretty sweet. as for your questions, I am not sure what you are talking about the emulator program, honestly. is it something you use on the computer to emulate and see how wm6 would look like? all the upgrade packages come with a .nbf file which is the main data file. if you are able to unpack it and repack it to a .bin file, you may be able to do what you want, but dont quote me on this as i'm still not sure as to what exactly you wanted to do. As far as if touch flow will work only on WM6, I cant say much about that either as i have only used it WM6. WM6 has a better graphics base when compared to WM5 and so i think touch flow would work better with WM6 but I don't think its limited to it.
What I would suggest is to flash the phone with the latest rom. Trust me, its worth it. All the work and skill that the developers have put into these roms really show itself in these roms. Make sure you read enough in this forum before you flash though. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Good luck.
Thanks for the reply!
I learned a lot about my device going through that procedure. It was SIM unlocked but not CID unlocked.
I went through everything and now have WM6 installed using the latest NBD ROM however I am finding the TouchFLO driver buggy. I cannot use my finger to press the "x" icon any more. Sometimes I press it and the start menu appears. Something is up with this touch driver in that release I think.
Also TouchFLO scrolling gestures don't work very reliable and it scrolls way too much.
Is this the case with all TouchFLO ROMs or is each ROM modifying touch capabilities and perhaps one ROM works better than the next?
Also is there a version of the HTC Home with that digital clock with a font about half the size so I can have a few more today screen plugins visible? I like it however its a bit too large.
Thanks and take care.
hi pls let me know the link to download it.

HTC P4300 Business Edition ROM CE OS 5.2.1622 Build 18128 AKU 4.4 (updated 6/12/09)

This is a 18128.0.4.4 ROM build based on PeterPetrelli's Wizard port of the AT&T 8525 WM6 ROM. It is a mix of old and new components, so if you don't like old stuff, you may not want to flash it. It is not built using the Hypercore kitchen (Tadzio's tools) so the ULDR space is still there. The today theme is the wasabi green HTC_default.tsk from the HTC 4350 official ROM along with the same green dialer and comm manager. When you change from or to the HTC theme, you must manually soft reset to change the dialer skin even though you click the "ok" on the dialog box. It's smooth, fast and very stable. The ROM is easily extracted, but I put it together as a factory ROM, so all of the programs are in the OEMAPPS package instead of separate. When you extract it for kitchen use, no OEM-side folders are in the SYS side.

I originally included Sprite Backup HTC edition as well as Network Wizard, but one can be construed as warez even though it's found in the factory Tilt ROM and the other acts funny when installed as a package.

aku4.4?????????????????????????
what's this?????????????????????
don't know!
Hey jwzg!
Always been around with new surprises, don't ya?
I've just installed this build and up to now, no complains. Really smooth, stable and fast as mentioned!
I also already dumped to start cooking over it. Let you know how was it after flashing...but it seems ok. I got OEM, XIP, SYS all together.
Thanks for sharing...
AKU 4.4 is the adaptation kit upgrade used for the Kaiser and Hermes WM6 ROM's. It's not meant for the Wiz, but it is the most stable, ported base ROM there is.
epiamazzo, I'm glad you're giving this a whirl. I've had this ROM in .308 build sitting on my old laptop for almost a year. It was on my old Qtek 9100 when I lost it leaving China. I just brought over all of the OEM files and tweaked the .dsm files so everything would be in the right place if someone decided to cook it. The only thing missing is the Lockstream DRM files, and I don't think anyone knows how to make those work outside of their original ROM.
UPDATE: I'm going to put the Network Wizard back in, since I finally got it to work. I'll upload it in a day or two, but everything else should stay the same.
Is this WM5? I do realise that its posted on WM6 section... but I thought that AKU 3.3 was the latest WM5... so I'm wondering...
It's WM6 for sure. I just updated my signature.
I downloaded and flashed last night
No issues to report, the items I use, wi-fi,sms, phone, you know - the basics, are working very well. Bluetooth works also
Quick and reliable - thank you
Installed pocketcm, thumbcal,srs wow,tcpmp - everything works

jwzg, if you're going to upload a new version, the only thing i noticed was that devauth and sqm could probably be removed. i made my own already, but for others
very nice base! glad to see not everything now is 6.1 btw, i don't understand how its 18128 if the rom reports 1622... i imagine that its because of the merging...

The ROM upgrade for the Hermes has that OS and build number. I just flashed one last week. The XIP was ported by PP and the drivers are taken directly from the .308 build. There wasn't much else done. Either way, it's still one of the best ROM's I've run for quickness and stability. Kind of a businessman's ROM.

Perhaps you're as think as you drunk we are.
That's a hell of a first post folks!
good,thx
I'm pulling the VoIP packages from the ROM for now. It seems that everything connects, but I can't seem to get audio from the speaker. I don't know what's causing it, but this is not an issue with .308 build. Network Wizard is back in and working. Other than that, no changes.
I downloaded the file but when I try to extract the file I'm asked for a password. I'm using 7-Zip to extract. Any ideas?
Thanks bwesty; I'll get my coat :-(

Maybe you should read the first post.....
This is easily the most stable rom since the Ingenetics / 318 build. I'm so impressed by how stable and responsive this rom is. I have yet to find a single bug in this rom. This is definitely a keeper in terms of wizard roms.
Keep up the good work jwzg.
I can't believe people are wasting their time with 6.1 builds when we have solid official base roms such as this. Likewise I can't believe that more people havent tried this rom. That's terribly disappointing. One unmentionable 6.1 thread on this forum has near enough to 800 posts on it, almost all of them issues with the rom. People would rather have a bug infested 'latest' build than something as solid as this. I will never understand that. I just shake my head.
jwzg, you have done an awesome job with this rom. It has to be the most stable wizard rom that I have seen. It's simplicity with no bugs for the businessman that adore stability.

Couldn't agree with you more. You've done such a great job with this rom. Worthy of a signature change.
PP I'm awfully flattered. I still have a few bugs to get out including a non-working BT activation of VSD (I think). I'd like to see a bit more beta testing on some of these 6.1 ROMS, but we'll never know the limits unless they are pushed.
I was wondering few things before I flash this rom.
1. Does it have micro office?
2. is there a way to get the sms/mms to thread like in the 6.1 rom?
How are the reports on blue tooth? any dropped or missed connections? Right now i'm trying a 6.1 rom and it drops my headset and i have to restart blue tooth and head set...

6.1 Manill2D Idiot's Guide?

Ok, apologies for starting a new thread on what's probably been done a hundred times. But I notice info is scattered around literally 1000's of pages so I thought I' just start a simple one here to a pretty simple question.
I'm getting a stock Orange e650 and want to put Manilla2D on it, or just WM6.1.
I've read up on the SPL etc, and Dr. Martin Gonzo's WM 6.1 zip seems pretty idiot proof with very clear instructions. I'm pretty confident about flashing it.
However, I've not found a simple guide to Manilla2D. Does Manilla2D sit on top of 6.1? ie, I install WM6.1, and then the cab files for M2D?
The .zip I have has various .cab files which I imagine are executed on the device. But when and how?
I basically need a solid guide to installing a stable Manilla2D build.
I'm happy take pictures and write up a guide as I do it if one doesn't exist. A sort of 'noob's' guide from a 'noob's' perspective.
Thanks
Because there is no simple way to get manilla 2d to work on a smartphone^^ Try allshadow.com forums, there is a thread with guides!

lol The more I read, the more I think I'll just put 6.1 on.
Thanks
I don't know if manilla runs on 6.0, but 6.1 is a definite improvement over 6.0!
the first treath is now renewed
with it its now very easy to get manila working but at least with neo and wm6.1 rom the upper symbols(like mute signal strange etc) are white boxes.(maybe another 96dpi hack will solve it runs smoothly on my vox except landscape even with installed patch it wont work.
Anyone interested in making a 6.1 ROM with Manilla2D already installed? Is it by any means possible?
DID DO
But the 96 dpi hack eems to make things impossible to use on a daily basis
try the random audio manager that keeps loading

Assistance with Word Suggestion

Does anyone know of a Rom that both tf3d and wm6.5 with word suggestion that actually works?
I have modified settings in advancedconfig and through start>settings>personal>input. After modifying the settings, word suggestion remains absent.
I have tried EnergyRom Series 3, RRE Series 6, and Shep's 21232 and 21222 builds.
The only rom I have flashed over the past two days that word suggestion actually seems to work is from Da_G's Most recent kitchen with RomSaved Dagyo's. However, there is an absence of tf3d. I attempted to add tf3d and other packages and build a rom but for some reason the packages I include in the rom are not being included into the newly saved rom when I flash it, which is weird because I never came across this issue on 6.1roms for the Tilt.
I type too many text messages and emails from my device to people that look down on grammar and spelling mistakes. Any help on either matter would be appreciated.
EDIT: NEVERMIND YOU NEED TO REMOVE HTC KEYBOARD, DURR. WEIRD I COULD NOT FIND THIS INFORMATION THROUGH SEARCH.

I Don't Get It (Manila Version)

I keep seeing add-ons, upgrades, themes, and so on for Manila. Lots, hell MOST, of them have warnings about version 2.0 or 2.1.
So how does one find out what version is on their device?
I have seen go to TouchFlo in Settings and use the About menu.
Mine says 3.0.
Huh? A few weeks back someone was posting incredulous messages about Manila being all the way up to 2.5 or 2.6! So I doubt that Settings|TouchFlo|About is the way to go.
Other people say go to the Settings tab in TouchFlo itself and scroll to the bottom. Mine says 1.2.35097.1_1813.6.
Um, OK..... Neither 2.0, 2.1, 3.0.
So just how DOES one find out what version of Manila is on their device?
Yes, I realize this will likely never get a straight response. Not blue-sky or skunkworks enough.
Just thought I'd ask.
By the by, I used the manilla file editor to grab some transparent flip clock images and put the call history, calendar, AM and PM icons (that were missing) in them. And have done software development, including development for handheld devices, for more than three decades, so no need to just assume I am a complete naif.
There are 2 kinds of manila.
Manila3D and Manila2D.
I am not looking at the numbers right now but i can tell you this much: QVGA devices(Tilt, vogue, 8525, etc.) use 2D and VGA devices(Diamond, touch pro, fuze, x1, etc.) use 3D.
There are only a few version of touchflo3D, i believe they are variations of 1.0, then 2.1(2?), and 2.5
Everything else is Manila2D, which goes from (sept 08) 0.11 all the way to (aug 09) ver 2.0
When you went into start>settings>system>touchflo you weren't looking at the Manila version, but the touchflo scrolling version. This is irrelevant.
Looking at the information you've posted, you have a touch pro running the original TF3D 1.0. (1.2)
Thanks, sirgatory.
Next n00b question. Two really:
Can manila (on my TP CDMA) be upraded to 2.X?
Where can I get the uprade (and the FM for it)?
Yes it can, however the easiest way is to flash a cooked ROM from ppcgeeks.com, as they deal with CDMA touch pros more than xda does. I'm not sure how to go about using a CAB file to update it.
But beware if you've never flashed a ROM before, you should read up on the process, especially for CDMA phones.
`You don't want to use a CAB. First of all, TF3D1 is integrated into your OS so much, if you take it out (which you'd have to do manually, thousands of manila files), it will mess up a lot of your OS. Installing it on top of your current manila might cause other errors.
Only way to do it properly, is by flashing a ROM with TF3D2 - there's many of them around.
