android update on rogers! - G1 Android Development

i have to get to work or i would write it again see here

If you dump it ill check it out. HTC released an update recently with some bug fixes which they may finally be releasing ota. Also logcat the download so we can find its source.

Apparently it is just a market update, I still haven't got it to reappear yet. I took down the post so as not to lead people astray.

so newer than: 1.86.631.1 ?

I can't seem to find the link to the update. Can someone point me to it?

i can't find the update either, i skipped it for the time being and now can't get it to pop up again. i didn't click the notification, just ignored it and restarted to backup .. thinking it might be a firmware thing, it was early and only coffee number one.
**edit: if you mean the link in my original post, that was a post on my blog but after realizing it might not be an android update i removed it.

Latest firmware version download from ?

Sorry may be this post is off topic:
Can some one tell me where to download latest firmware for G1 (i think 1.1) ? mine is RC28
Thank you,
the fact that this isn't your first post is quite unbelievable.
there's a search button for a reason.
or perhaps even just look through the stickies at the top of the Android Development forum.
Or are you after the official firmware? in which case, your phone should auto-update if i'm not mistaken.
You can find the official firmware on XDA or other websites such as AndroidEvolve.com, just make sure you update them in order. But as Meltus said you should auto update which I believe is usually 3 days after activating the phone. Also use the search feature next time to search before posting!
Thank you afoulke,
and Meltus I am using that phone Pakistan so no autoupdate
Yeah everything should be available via androidevolve.com
autoupdate works everywhere... even over wifi
afoulke: The site is very helpful only one mistake i took many time i was giving space in "mount -o rw, remount", although the tutorial said "mount -o rw,remount"
Thank you for you help
PS: neoobs: even after one week of use, no update
i have adp1 in India i had rooted my phone to rc33 soon i came to know that adp1.1 was being pushed over the air so i went back to adp1.0 and after a little while say 2 hours i got a pop-up saying update is available so i say updates are available over the air throughout the world... but maybe only for adp & not rc versions...

[Q] new transformer, why cant i get update?

I've had it about 4 hours now, and i am still runing the firmware that came with it - HRI66.WW_epad-8.2.2.6.1-20110325. Shouldn't there be at least one stable non-bricking update available to me?
I've gone to settings > about tablet > system update, and there are no updates available.
If you read the threads, you'll see that the update was pulled because it bricked several tablets. ASUS has posted the manual update files (requires copying the data to a microSD card)
http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_TF101/#download
Best thread is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041502
They pulled the update since it was bricking some devices.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Because the updates have been pulled due to bricking of some TFs.
I read that the second update was bricking devices, but I thought the first update was still good. I guess I was misinformed. Thanks the help.

It is the second update that does it, so either they pulled the first update at the same time or update 1 is integrated into update 2 as well.
Another option is that it just hasn't come yet, it took mine over 12 hours before it started downloading the firmware.
They haven't made the FOTA update available again, yet, but go to this main thread and there's a link to were to download the latest update from Asus:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041502
You'll need a microSD card to apply it.
Just updated via the firmware on ASUS' site and a microSD card, thanks!

[Q] Mango update issues (omnia 7)

I was pretty excited to see the Mango update is now available for the masses.. I mean those of us who don't have our devices unlocked as a developer phone so I decided to try my hands on it. But now I have some issues. When I open ZUNE I see update is available.
It tries to update but than after rebooting and finishing step 2/2: ERROR Code 80180048. apppers
I tried this several times on Win7 X64 and x86 but I still have the same problem.
Any ideas? maybe am getting something wrong

I tried but didn't help
This could be happening for 2 reasons... Apparently your phone is getting confused by which update to download.
1) Did you unlock at any point with Chevron? If so you probably didn't check off all the languages. If this is the problem just look for the Microsoft approved walsh fix, very easy to find.
Then restore your phone to the version before it was provisioned for mango and apply the walsh fix. VERY IMPORTANT CHECK OFF EVERY LANGUAGE. Then restart the mango process and people have posted that this should work.
2) If, like me, your a registered developer and still getting this error then unfortunately I've only been able to find 1 fix. Microsoft is working on correcting the problem but has said it will take a couple weeks. So on to the fun part. You need to flash your phone back to factory form. Flash not reset. You lose everything. Good this is your purchase history, contacts and calendar should be attached to your live id, if not you might want to sync them.
To flash your rom just search these wonderful forums to find it. All I searched for was "flash focus rom" and found a thread with the files and instructions were in the files. Once your phone has been flash you should have no problem updating to mango although you have to go through all the original updates and re install and set up your phone.
Hope this helps... it worked for me.

Thanks for reaching out to help me but I think I will give up now. I did all what you told me.. I read from other places even before you responded but it still didn't work. Am thinking its a problem with my Samsung Omnia phone so I guess I have to wait till the Final release of mango comes out. I had also the same issue with NoDo, I had to wait till the official Samsung fix came before I could finally get it.. guess this is like that too.
Sorry I couldn't help more. I have an unlocked ATT Focus running on Rogers... I was able to flash an Omnia 7 ROM on it but that was horrible because the phone literally began to mix the up and down and the portrait and landscape modes.
Did you try and flash your omnia back to stock?
I couldn't return back to the the stock ROM. My boot-loader is probably damaged . When I press the the volume up + and camera button to enter into download mode all I see is the black and white screen ..

[Q] Still have no notice for ICS update on TB version. Can you give me some advice?

Hi guys!
I've seen quite a lot of positive about the last update and ICS and I've been crying for days (well... since friday) to download it. But I got no notice and when I look for a firmware update, it says there aren't any.
If it's normal, for my version, I can wait but if I have to do something to get the update I'd like to do it now.
I'm on HTK75.TB_epad-8.6.5.21-20111216... (TB never seen elsewhere but I'm Belgian and, you know, we're weird.)
I've rooted my device this morning (really early). Don't know if it might help to get a solution...
I've been looking for a solution but I'm scared of doing something wrong with my ****ing TB version...
Thank you for your attention anyway!
EDIT: The serial starts with B80...
You rooted.
Next step is to flash CWM and then flash ICS. Kinda obvious...
Many guides have been posted on this forum since the release of ICS. You literally have to be blind to not find them.
Read the guides. Follow the instructions carefully.
Almost forgot--for the love of god, factory reset your TF before flashing ICS. The tards who didn't are having problems.
Thank you for your answer.
But I'm sorry not to be as pro as many of you are... What's obvious for you might me quite complicated for me. And I've found guides, but I'm just scared of doing something wrong with my TB version 'cause I didn't find information about it. But I will look further (and factory reset even if I don't believe in god...).

Only panic if you cant power up if you can get to recovery you can save your tablet
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
I've done the reset to the factory settings but still don't have anyway to do the official update. I'm sorry to bother you but I've read the links you gave me and only found custom roms to install.
I've tried a lot of things but always fails.
I just want to update my transformer... It's not complicated, is it? Why I don't have the notification? Why do I get "there's no update available for your device"? Can aynybody explain me why?
I've spent 2 days to install it and I'm still at the same point (but rooted). I might be totally stupid but don't blame me if I am asking for help.
Hi Thanelien,
I'm also from Belgium and actually our Transformers have a different SKU... which means that we don't have exactly the same updates as the rest of the world.
So, usually we, poor Belgian, get the update more or less 6 days after the others... which means probably this Thursday.. You can also find an info on Twitter fron ASUS BENELUX confirming that "our" update will arrive end of the week... Otherwise the only other option is to change SKU... which means root the tablet...
Cheers
