Email Account - General Questions and Answers

I have an email account, named "Yahoo", on my Today Screen, and on my emailtab in Touchflo mode. This account does not show up on my list of accounts under the messaging program. How do I delete this annoying little bugger. When I select it, the list of accounts shows up. It is "forever" stuck on 7 unread emails. I beleive it showed up after upgrading to the latest HTC ROM, and doing a Sprite restore of my personal data and files. I am running HTC's 5.11.502.2 ROM on an HTC FUZE. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How do I remove 'stuck' email a/c & 'unread' Today notice?
Hi there, hope you can help.
I have an HTC Wizard (Xda Mini S) and recently restored a backup using the latest Sprite Backup beta.
It kinda half restored my one POP3 e-mail account, in that the account appears on the Today screen showing '59 Unread', but not in the Messaging program folder list.
I.e. it's there, but not visible and I can't see the Inbox etc.
When I try to re-create the account using the same name, Messaging won't let me as 'an account already exists with that name'. So, it's there, but invisible.
I've tried removing all entries of the account name from the registry, but after a reboot they reappear.
How can I completely remove this account, to start again?

I've tried Sprite Backup's Mailclean program but to no avail.

TF3D email, error after restoring from hard reset

I have just hard reset my device and restore the personal data (email and contacts) back.
On my TF3D, it shows that the account that I set up previously is there (2 mail icon on the right hand side), but when i tap on it to read, the account setting is not there anymore. I tried to send/received , check inbox, new mail from the TF3D interface and I am brought back to the messaging main page with no email account configuration.
Anyone have similar problem or advice? any idea on how can i delete it from my TF3D interface?
I have got similar problem as you, have you already find something to fix this? it's really annoying.
Email Accounts not accessible after Sprite Backup & Restore
I used Sprite Backup to backup the phone before I installed the update to the new ROM (5.11.502.2 WWE). When I used Sprite Backup to restore everything, my email accounts show up with unread messages, but when I select them, it automatically goes to my text messaging, as that is the only messaging account active. I tried to create a new account, named "AOL" (which was the name previously) and it told me that name is already in use and that I have to create a new one. It doesn't show up on my list of accounts, so I can't delete it. If I create a new account with a different name (but the same email address) I can access my email, but the old messages remain listed on my today screen. Any suggestions on what to do to get rid of the old accounts and notifications? When I go to Messaging > Menu > Tools > Options, the only accounts listed are Messages, Outlook E-mail, and New Account. Thanks.
PIM restore + manila = Hosed manila
Use Microsoft My Phone to backup and restore your PIM data.

delete email account

I recently updated my ROM with HTC's latest from June I believe (I just got my Fuze last month...2 pennies at Amazon.com, woohoo)...I used Sprite backup to restore my personal data and my old Yahoo account is coming up on the Touchflo emailtab, and under the messaging section for the today screen when Touchflo is off. I can't find the account under the messaging list of accounts to delete it. I tried setting up four different accounts to see if it would bump that one out, but that did not work. In fact all that did was cause Touchflo and the today screen to not display the account names for the other accounts I set up...including the main Yahoo one. It is annoying having two yahoo accounts, same address, listed under both Touchflo and the today screen. Should I just get a different messaging client, I kind of like the one provided with the Fuze, even though I don't use Outlook...It works fine for SMS and my internet based accounts. I'm sure there is a way to get rid of it. Any help is greatly appreciated as I am new to Windows Mobile.

Phantom e-mail accounts on Win 6.5 home screen

Hi,
I have a rather annoying problem with my Win 6.5 Titanium home screen. When I slide to the e-mail entry it lists four different e-mail accounts, but I have only two (and only these two are listed in my e-mail account settings). The other two seem to be two IMAP accounts that have been imported by my backup from my old Win 6.1 phone. But as they are not listed in my e-mail account list, only on my home screen, and because I can't open them (when I tap on them on the home screen, nothing happens), I have no idea how to get rid of them.
I already searched the registry, but I can't find them there. I also deleted the pim file in my root directory, but that didn't help either.
Any suggestions (besides hard reset) are really appreciated?
Thanks in advance,
dude
