Raw photos? - Touch Diamond2, Pure Themes and Apps

Hello, everyone. Bought some days ago HTC Diamond 2, right now I’m learning what can I do here. But reason why I’m writing is about internal camera. Here are few shots

Well, I think that’s pretty good for internal camera. But I’m sure that if I could get raw images, I could do more. So maybe there is some software that can get data from matrix without any phone enhancements and compression?
Same question concerning video recording feature. Any way to have 30fps with less compression?

Well, can't believe that no one interested in improvement of our cam.

Is it worth upgrading N5 from android 4.4.2 to 6?

My Nexus 5 is a workhorse, still on 4.4.2 because "if it ain't broke don't fix it".
My only issue with the phone is the poor photos and videos it shoots, especially comparing to iphones and samsungs.
The question, will upgrading to android 6 improve photo quality (stock google updates, not mods).
I am sure many of you used both versions and can comment on photo and video differences.
I know there are camera API improvements, security fixes, UI changes, let's leave them aside for now and talk about perceived quality of actual photos and videos taken.
Thanks for any feedback.
Nothing much, the camera is the camera, and it is not that great.
What I read is that the newer versions of android allow direct access to the raw image, so the processing and compression can be done in apps. I saw somewhere photos side by side which showed substantial difference (but I don't know what app they were using).
The camera hardware specs are actually not that bad.

Do it. Marshmallow is great!!! But don't upgrade. Use factory image. It's better..

Missing "HQ-Mode" in camera app

Hello!
I currently miss the "HQ-Mode" from the OP3 in the camera app from the OP6.
Did I miss something to enable it or is the "HQ-Mode" not available anymore on the OP6?
I find the pictures from the HQ-Mode from the OP3 very good as in this mode multiple pictures were merged into one single pic.
As I don't have the OP5 or OP5T I don't know if the "HQ-Mode" was available there too or substituted by another mode.
Do someone have more information in this regard?
Thanks in advance and sorry if this question is commonly known.
It was present on the OP5, but now it disappeared. I don't know if it's coming back to OP6.

Okay, but HDR is something different as HDR is for making the colours more vibrant with merging 3 different exposured pictures into one picture and the HQ-Mode is "only" for more quality of the picture (less noise etc).
It were good if the HQ-Mode will come back with some update.

Can you edit the intesity of the blur in portrait mode?

And if so, can you do it later?
Doubtful as that is in the post processing I believe. The reason people are looking for the Gcam port, or they would just adjust the current camera software.
Being a post-process is exactly why you should be able to do whatever you want woth the background. So is it a yes or a no? Can you do it with stock camera?
Actually I meant that it's done in the OnePlus algorithms. Meaning you'd have to be a camera expert to even know what does what. It's not like taking an APK and porting it. You'd have to rewrite it or know what to rewrite. At least this is what I'd expect

If I'm right its not possible with the current stock camera app
But if Oneplus tries and puts some effort on camera app ,they can
I really wish we could shoot in RAW format in portrait mode, does anyone know if that is possible? Or is it with the Gcam mod?

Wow, that's...that's game breaking for me honestly. I heard amazing things about OnePlus (5t and 6), especially in terms of gaming performance, and i was really looking into buying one (plus 6 ) in the near future. But i love taking pics in weekends and holidays and edit them later to my leisure.
I'm keeping my eyes on news of some update that fixes this limitation that shouldn't exist in the first place

Ok then let's request Oneplus to include blur intensity in camera app?

If you're that worried about raw, you should be shooting with a dslr camera. These are point and shoot that has been given a manual mode but these are still not a replacement for a regular dslr.

I agree DSLR is best but it would be nice still if we could shoot raw format pictures in portrait mode still, I mean why do they give us portrait mode but can't do much post processing with it?

To me since I am a photography enthusiast (fairly serious) that the portrait mode is still just for quick snaps to give a more focus point of view on the subject, not for wedding photos and such. I get your point you still want to maybe do some editing. But I guess my point is if you like the phone for enough to want to buy it and raw photo editing is a thing, it sees that the OP should have looked for that from the beginning and not be shocked it's missing that feature 3 months after release in a forum post. Just my opinion

RAW photos

Hi all,
How does your low-light RAW photos looks like? Mine are awful. Is this normal? I'm running the latest update.
Did you adjust the settings? Doesn't look like. Also be sure to keep flash disabled

No, I didn't adjust anything. All on auto. Flash was off.
In daylight the RAW photos aren't sharp either.
In normal mode the photos are awesome.

Well that will contribute to your problem, you are basically just taking a normal photo. Adjust the settings and experiment.
Also RAW photos are really easy to post process with the right software. I remember on the EVO LTE (one x) we had a RAW camera mod that I used some really cool software to post process and took really great photos with.
The RAW photos right out of the box we're very dark and not polished at all. I had to do all of that after the shot was taken.
As far as I know this is the point of RAW photos. The aperture gathers as much data as possible, and the photographer post processes that data as they see fit. Now I'm no pro at all and I could be off base, but that's my basic understanding of it.
If I get some time I'll go lurking around the old android forum I was a MOD on and see what I can find. I had an old friend and mentor on there that we collaborated on quite a bit of this stuff.
Have to adjust settings for night shots, lower/adjust iso,lower/adjust shutter speed,lower/adjust lighting

It wasn't the Exo LTE, it was the M8 with the Ultra Pixel Camera everyone was bashing.
Here's the thread I was referring to with the camera mod and post processing software.: https://androidforums.com/threads/raw-camera.854215/
You'll have to sift through the thread for goodies and info. Early Mon was a god in the early HTC days, and directly involved with getting us HTC DEV for unlocking our bootloaders. I haven't messed with any of this stuff in years, don't have enough time.

Google HDR camera?

Has anyone been able to find a Gcam APK that works properly. For the most part I love everything about this phone but the camera is like a average mid range camera. Obviously we all didn't buy this phone for it's camera but I'm hoping there is a way to make it a bit better.
There's already an extensive discussion on the subject here.
I got it up and running thanks for the help
